They made a quick stop at the bank before going to the man's flat. John didn't think that Sherlock had noticed Sebastian giving him the check and he was tempted to rip it up and throw it back in the man's face. Still, when Sherlock held out his hand for the check, John gave it to him. He watched as Sherlock signed the back of the check before holding it back out to John. John looked at him confused.

"I thought you needed the money," Sherlock stated.

"Is that the only reason you took this job because if it is we can head back to the flat now? I will get a job before I accept that man's money," John answered not reaching for the paper.

"Don't be ridiculous, John," Sherlock answered. His eyes bore into John analyzing him "He told you what happened between us in university." John sighed. He should have known that he couldn't hide his conversation with Sebastian from Sherlock. In the two weeks that he had known the man, Sherlock knew every time he talked with a woman when he went to Tesco and he also knew when John masturbated in the shower the other day. He complained about John wasting hot water when they both knew that Sherlock wouldn't hesitate to use all the hot water if he got there first.

"He implied it and he also stated that he was going to ask you out once the case was over," John answered him honestly.

"You're jealous," Sherlock told him.

"No," John immediately tried to deny it. "You're my friend."

"I thought I was your colleague," Sherlock interrupted.

"I shouldn't have said that. You are my friend and I don't trust him," John answered. Sherlock shoved the check at John again.

"You don't have to trust him but there is a case to solve while we waste time with your moral crisis," Sherlock reminded him.

"Fine," John sighed snatching the check out of Sherlock's hand and storming to the counter. He handed it to the woman along with his banking information so that the check could be deposited. "I'll pay you back as soon as I can." Sherlock just waved him off.

"Mycroft handles all my bills and he would just use the check to buy more cakes or other sweets that he doesn't need," Sherlock answered. John mumbled something under his breath that sounded like rich people as he finished his transaction before following Sherlock back out of the bank. He hoped silently that the case didn't take much longer because he was serious when he told Sherlock that he wanted to be done with Sebastian. Sherlock hailed a cab for the two of them and once more they were on their way to the man's flat. They could normally be comfortably quiet around each other but the air was still thick with unanswered questions from the bank.

"I can hear you thinking and it is very distracting. Why don't you just ask me so that we can focus on the case again," Sherlock sighed turning away from the window to look at John.

"He said he hated you," John reminded Sherlock knowing he would understand. Sherlock stared at him the confusion clear in his features.

"Why do you have to like someone in order to have sex with them? The arrangement we had was mutually beneficial. He was able to pretend that he was still straight in the morning among his friends in the cafeteria and I was supplied with chemicals that helped me to enhance my mind," Sherlock explained.

"You mean endorphins," John stated hopefully.

"Don't be naive John, it doesn't suit you," Sherlock answered turning away from him once more.

The two of them finally arrived at the flat and Sherlock used his charm to trick the new tenant into letting them in. From there the mystery deepened as they discovered the man was dead and it was immediately apparent to Sherlock it wasn't a suicide even if the detective was going to take more convincing. The case was deepening and more complicated than it originally looked meaning a return trip to Sebastian. They found him in a restaurant telling a story to some clients he was trying to impress. Upon seeing Sherlock, he immediately excused himself so that he could go talk with John and Sherlock in private. They didn't have much choice for privacy so the three of them congregated in the loo where they could monitor who was in there. Sebastian listened to their story explaining what he knew about the man who died. While he talked his phone beeped and he looked at Sherlock in confusion.

"The police are saying it is a suicide," Sebastian told them.

"They've got it wrong. I can assure you he was murdered," Sherlock answered. Sebastian smiled at him reaching out to lay his hand on Sherlock's arm causing John to narrow his eyes.

"I believe you but my bosses won't see it that way. So, rather than get sidetracked focus on the job that I have given you," Sebastian told him kindly. Sherlock's eyes traveled down to Sebastian's hand. He used his other hand to lift Sebastian's hand off his arm turning to walk away. John, though, stepped closer to Sebastian lowering his voice.

"I will only warn you one more time to stay away from him," John hissed.

"I'll stay away from him, but I can guarantee you he won't stay away from me. Not when he finds out what I have waiting for him at my flat," Sebastian answers. He went to turn away but John grabbed him spinning him back around. Sebastian's head hit the sinks with a dull thud. Sherlock quickly turned around as John helped Sebastian back up.

"Easy their mate. The floor is quite slippery," John stated as Sebastian straightened up. Sherlock's eyes darted downward but the floor was clearly dry except for a few specks of water. Sebastian's head was red but he was otherwise uninjured. He rubbed his head unhappily as he stormed out of the room leaving the two of them alone. "I am going to get an ASBO for that."

"The complaint will never reach beyond Lestrade. He and Mycroft have been looking for an excuse for years to pick up Sebastian and I believe you just gave them one," Sherlock informed John. John thought about it for a moment. He didn't like the man but he certainly hadn't expected to send him to his death. Still, he really couldn't complain that Sebastian was getting what he deserved if what John suspected was true.

"Shall we go?" John asked after a moment. Sherlock eyed him as he nodded and the two of them headed to the door. Sebastian was on the phone and he glared in their direction as they exited the restaurant. Sherlock didn't seem worried, though, as he hailed them a cab so that they could return home. The trip this time was peaceful as Sherlock focused on the case. Upon returning home, Sherlock immediately was on his laptop doing research while John made himself something to eat. The day went on and nobody came for him but across the city, Sebastian exited the restaurant to find a black car waiting for him.
