AN: This is my first attempt at a true series on this site. Comments are welcome and encouraged. I am beginning with InuYasha, but who is next can be up to you. I'm having all of the cast of InuYasha making an appearance, eventually. Also, because of a small complaint, I have decided to branch out a bit. I admit, this gives me a little more freedom, but I want to stay with my original prompt. I don't own anything, but I wouldn't say no if the owners gave it to me...

Sorry for the delay!

What would happen if the various characters from InuYasha found themselves in Rivendell in time for the formation of the Fellowship? Let's find out.

Sango

Elrond looked upon the dwarf who had just lost his ax to the power of the ring's defenses, a comically large sweatdrop appearing behind his head, out of view of the others.

/I really hope he doesn't start crying, that would just be too much. /

He then stated, "The Ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli, son of Gloin by any craft that we here posses-"

The Elf Lord is interrupted as a pinkish orb suddenly appears in the air to one side of the pedestal. It grows rapidly, causing all to leap to their feet, and draw weapons. Suddenly, with a popping sound, the orb vanishes, revealing a black haired woman wearing a black and red outfit gracefully crouched on the ground.

"Is that…A giant boomerang?" Gandalf mutters to himself in disbelief.

"ECHII MONK! WHEN I Get…my…"

Looking up, confusion is plain on her face.

Seeing the group around her, the woman's reflexes take over.

"HIRAIKOTSU!"

Grabbing the end of her massive weapon, she spins in a tight circle, both to drive the foes back, as well as to build up momentum for the throw. Men and Elves leap back as the Dwarves attempt to go underneath the swing.

That route is closed as, with a flash, a strange looing blade is held in her off-hand, dipping down to almost shave their beards. With a yell, she threw her weapon at what she figured was the greater threat.

Frodo yelped and dove for the floor, barely dodging the strike.

"ENOUGH!" Shouted Gandalf as he brought his staff down, a bright flash of light and a sound like a massive wind fills the area. When all could see again, the council saw that the woman was pinned against a pillar by roots that has seemingly grown out of the ground, but had not disturbed a single pave-stone.

"Bastard!" Sango snarled as she attempted to use her blade to cut the roots. This effort was soon stopped by Legolas neatly snatching the blade from her hand.

"Enough of that. Now, who are you, and how did you arrive here?" Gandalf asked, his voice hard.

"Nice try, spawn of Naraku, You already know who I am…" She growled.

Taken aback by the level of Venom in her voice, Gandalf was rendered speechless.

No so for another.

"Who is Naraku?" Frodo asked, getting up slowly from where he had thrown himself to the ground.

Glaring, Sango looks over at Frodo before a look of confusion crosses her face.

"Wait…you're not… Kohaku…"

"No ma' lady, I am Frodo Baggins. Of the Shire." Frodo offered, stepping closer. Gandalf began muttering to himself as he started to look around. After a few moments, the woman's eyes grew wide.

"Look out!"

Frodo turned just in time to get brained by the returning weapon. As he fell into unconsciousness, he heard Gandalf exclaim, "That's what I was forgetting!"

Waking up was pleasant, given the quality of beds in Rivendell, but as comfortable as he was, confusion was the main thing on Frodo's mind.

"Why am I here?"

"You got hit by my weapon's return strike. I'm sorry."

Looking over, the young Hobbit saw the woman who had suddenly appeared.

"You have been out for a day or so." Answering his un-asked question.

"What happened?"

Guessing that he meant something larger than a recap of what she had already told him, she nodded.

"I guess I do owe you that. It is a long story, but to make it short, my family and I were attacked by my little brother, who had been possessed by a demon. I was the only survivor. Later on, an enemy of mine resurrected my little brother and attempted to use him, multiple times, to finish the job. That's why I reacted as I did, I thought that it was another attempt…"

Eyes wide, Frodo reached out and patter her hand with his.

"I'm sorry."

Sango shook her head. "It's not your fault. Anyway, until I can find a way back home, I will be joining you on your quest." Smiling a little, she adds "I already have lots of experience with this sort of thing. Anyway, get up and get dressed, we leave in a couple hours."

And now, Bonus Time!

Frodo moved as silently as he could, knowing that the one hunting him could strike at any time. In his mind he was cursing at himself for driving Sam away, knowing that, even if he was a little greedy, two pairs of eyes were better than one in not getting ambushed. Hearing a sound behind him, he whorled around, swearing in his mind as he realized he would be too late. Shelob had chosen well. Then, just before the stinger struck home, he heard a shout.

"HIRAIKOTSU!"

The young Hobbit looked on in bafflement as a massive, and strangely shaped weapon flew into, and then through the massive spider, cutting it almost perfectly in half. As the large arachnid fell to the floor, twitching and writhing in its death-throws.

"Dammit! It's not the spider…"

Spinning around, Frodo's jaw dropped as a Woman dropped lightly to the ground, spinning neatly to catch the massive weapon as it hurtled back at her. On her shoulder was perched what looked like a small cat, with cream colored fur with black markings. That would have been strange enough, but for one other detail.

The cat thing had two tails.

Approaching, but stopping before she got to close, the woman tipped her head to one side.

"What is a child doing in a place like this?"

"I am not a child. I'm a Hobbit. A Halfling. Shire folk?" Frodo said, feeling a bit miffed. Looking at her, he realized that she wasn't understanding what he was saying.

She looks for a few moments longer before shrugging. "Alright, I have never heard of your kind, but as long as you do not attempt to hurt me, and you are not working for Naraku, I don't really care."

"Who is Naraku?" Frodo asked, feeling curious, and a bit giddy from his near-miss.

The woman looked at him for a few moments before the small cat-thing jumped from her shoulder and bounded over to the Hobbit, mewing softly.

Looking taken-aback, the woman sits on a rock. "Alright, Kilala seems to think you're trustworthy. Well, here is the thing…

(Insert InuYasha backstory here)

"…and that is why I am searching for Naraku."

Frodo nodded softly, petting a purring Kilala as he struggles to wrap his mind around Sango's tale.

"What about you?" Sango asks. "Something tells me that this isn't that 'Shire' you mentioned earlier, so I doubt this is your home. How and why did you come here?"

Deciding that since she had trusted him with her story, he would return the favor.

(Insert Lord of the Rings story line to that point)

Nodding to herself, Sango stood.

"Alright, there is only one thing to do then."

Frodo looked up from Kilala. "What is that?"

Sango smiled "We finish this. We can ride on Kilala and end this before any others get hurt."

Frodo thought about it for a moment and then stood, gently placing Kilala on the ground and stepping back.

"Right. Let's do it."
