Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story kicks off as Midoriya is about to encounter something that would change his life…be it for better or worse…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Two days later…

The scene shifts at an apartment, where Izuku Midoriya is about to leave after finishing breakfast, and there he told his mom that he is visiting a friend who happened to be an archeologist that studies and decipher texts that are written in ANCIENT language.

While Inko is glad that her son made a friend, she is a bit worried given that this friend of his is aged 20, just six years older than him and Inko felt that Izuku might get impulsive and attempt to woo his friend, who is a female. As Inko tells her son to be careful, he nodded and assured that he will be fine.

After that, Izuku left and about 45 minutes later, he arrived at the house of his friend, who is a university student studying archeology that specializes in deciphering ancient languages, and the woman is identified as Sakurako Sawatari, a recently-graduated individual who finished university from Johan University, and there she greeted the younger boy, seeing him as a LITTLE BROTHER.

This is because both of them are Quirkless and both endured discrimination, yet they managed to overcome the hardships in their childhoods, and now they can rely on one another.

"Ah, Midoriya-kun."

"Hello, Sawatari-san."

"Thanks for coming and for accepting my request."

"Its fine. No problem."

"Thanks. As a reward once we solve this little puzzle I'll treat you to a restaurant."

"Really?"

"You bet."

"Okay."

As Izuku sat beside her he saw the laptop where some strange symbols are posted, and there he asked her what are those, which Sakurako said that just a few days ago the research team have unearthed what they believed to be an ancient relic and a coffin, which believed to be similar to those of pharaohs from Egypt.

Izuku just nodded, and then he noticed two symbols which he pointed it out, and upon checking it she tried to translate it, and this made her stare wide-eyed in apprehension which Izuku asked what is wrong, and there she revealed that the symbols she translated means DEATH and WARNING.

Izuku blinked his eyes and tells her to contact the research team saying that of what she translated is true, then there's the possibility that someone might attempt to steal the relics, like those involved in the black market by stealing the relics and have them auctioned at an underground auction.

Nodding, Sakurako attempted to contact one of her colleagues, but to her surprise Naomasa Tsukauchi was the one who answered the call, and after a minute, she told Izuku what went on: the research team was murdered.

"Eh…?"

"The entire research team…they were…killed."

"…"

"…"

"Seriously…they…"

"No survivors."

"…"

"…"

Izuku looked shocked at hearing this, and as Sakurako is ready to leave, he volunteered to accompany her which she asked if he is sure, which he nodded, and there she tells him that they are heading for the police station where Tsukauchi will tell them what happened.

"This might take up the whole day."

"Okay."

"Are you sure you want to come along…?"

"Yes."

"You'll have to be ready. We don't know what we're going to find there."

"I understand."

"Okay. Let's go."

"Right."

Seeing that she is determined to find out the truth, Izuku decided to accompany her and asked what would she do once she finds out what really happened, which she said that she'll figure it out once she finds out what really happened to her colleagues, stating that it would be better to see it with her own eyes than hearing it from the phone conversation.

"And that's my decision."

"…"

"I rather see it with my own eyes rather than my ears."

"It might be too much for you to…"

"I'll be okay, Midoriya."

"I see."

"Come on."

"Okay."

Thus Sakurako leaves her house with Izuku coming along, feeling that she needed some emotional support should she find out what happened that might result in her breaking down emotionally if the results she is about to find out might take a toll on her.

Ch. 2: Debyū no seichō

About 30 minutes later, both Sakurako and Izuku arrived at the police station, and there three pairs of ambulances arrived and slowly unloaded the corpses that are covered in body bags, which Sakurako became apprehensive as she is still in denial about what she heard 30 minutes ago.

Izuku stared at the body bags and is tempted to open one but Tsukauchi came and gently held his hand, telling him that he cannot lay a hand on the corpses as it would jeopardize the investigation. Izuku realized it and apologized while Sakurako approached Tsukauchi and asked what really happened.

Tsukauchi grimly tells her that something happened at the excavation site two days ago and said that the footage they retrieved would show clues as to how this happened, and Izuku asked if the crime committed is due to those wanting to steal the relics that would serve as a basis for an underground auctioning.

"Based on the evidence we find…what you suggested is not what it appeared to be."

"Huh?"

"The attackers are not thieves."

"Then are they…"

"Actually…they're not…people…"

"Eh? What are you…?"

"I'll show you what I mean…come with me."

"…"

Both Izuku and Sakurako blinked their eyes when told that what Izuku suggested is not the case, and said that the video footage that the police retrieved would give them some clues as to what they are dealing with. He invited the two to come with him inside and said that he will show them what happened to the research team and everything else.

Minutes later, the scene shifts inside the conference room, where only Izuku and Sakurako are the only ones inside, and there Naomasa is the only police official here as he reminded them that what they are about to find out might cause them discomfort, but Sakurako insists on wanting to find out what happened to her colleagues.

"Are you sure about this, Sawatari?"

"Yes."

"It might be…too gruesome…"

"I'll take my chances."

"Are you prepared?"

"I am."

"Very well."

"…"

Seeing that she wants to know, Tsukauchi nodded as he prepares in activating the projector and then showed them the USB flashdisk that was found at the excavation site, and then inserted it before activating the projector and there the trio watches the last moments of the research team.

-x-x-x-x-

The scene shows that at an excavation site where several archeological researchers are digging up something and are rather excited as they felt that they might discover something that might lead them to being recognized as important research teams and would be awarded with a Nobel Prize.

"Oh boy…"

"This is it…"

"The discovery of the new decade…"

"I can't wait to see what's in there…"

"Yes…I'm expecting that we might discover something that would shape the hero society…"

"And make us famous…"

"Yeah…imagine being featured on TV..."

"Then let's get back to work…"

As the excavation team worked double time, they unearthed what appeared to be a tomb of ancient origin, and the team members approached the tomb, and with some help from hired MUSCLE MEN, the tomb was opened and the archeological researchers were a bit disappointed as all they saw is an apparent skeletal remains of what they believed to be that of a last remaining member of an unspecified tribal member.

The archeological researchers were debating on whether their efforts are in vain until one of the researchers noticed what appeared to be a rather metallic belt covered in dusts, and there the researcher took it and looked at the object seeing some ANCIENT SCRIPTURES embedded onto the belt-like object.

"Look at that…"

"I never seen anything like that…"

"And there are symbols engraved…"

"I see it…"

"We should translate it…"

"Do you have anyone in mind…?"

"I think so…"

"Come on…we got to decipher it…!"

As some of the research team members are putting the item inside a transparent plastic bag, another research team member took out a video camera and began recording the scene at a distance and recorded the item found.

Then he shifted the camera at the tomb, where moments later the apparent skeletal remains began to move, and for some reason the body slowly regained flesh and looked somewhat healthy.

The research team members were shocked at what they are seeing, with one of the members believe that a MUMMY has came back to life and feared that a curse is in effect and urged his fellow researchers to make a run for it.

"Oh shit!"

"Is that thing alive?"

"I don't like this…!"

"Everyone! Run!"

"Someone call for help!"

"Get out of here! Now!"

"I'm gone!"

"Damn it!"

But the apparently-revived body flexed its neck and began to go on a killing spree and systematically slaughtered the research team members and the scene became a pool of blood before it left, seemingly failing to notice one more victim as the sole survivor kept on recording the scene as he secretly followed the revived entity.

The scene shows that it was night time and the revived body went to an area just several steps from the entrance of the cave, and raising its hands, strange lights emanated from its hands and struck the soil-like ground, and moments later, several entities emerged as they dug their way up, and the sole survivor was horrified and managed to send an SOS text message to the police before one of the revived entities found him by accident and slaughtered him.

-x-x-x-x-

Sakurako and Izuku were left shocked at what they saw, and Tsukauchi said that this is something the police would take seriously after seeing how the victims are found dead and the soiled ground showed that the THINGS emerged were that of them digging their way out from underneath.

And Tsukauchi asked Sakurako if she is a researcher, and after she nodded, he handed to her the sole item that her research team members found at the excavation site, which is the one that they found, and Tsukauchi requested that she research this item after seeing the ancient texts embedded onto the item.

"This is one of the items we found intact."

"…"

"If you're a researcher, could you decipher what's written on that item…? "

"Yes…I think I could…"

"Once you figured it out, let me know."

"I will."

"Thanks. Here, take it."

"…"

Nodding, Sakurako said she will get on it as she took the item and Izuku looked at it, commenting that it looked like a rather huge-looking belt, and as Tsukauchi said that he is going to talk to the investigators and left, Izuku glanced at the item.

There he tells her that he noticed a symbol-like text is engraved, and asked her if she could manage to translate its meaning. Sakurako looked at it and after 15 seconds, she was able to decipher it and said that the symbol translate as POWER.

"Eh?"

"Yeah. That's what I think…"

""Power"...huh…"

"There may be more than meets the eye…"

"Still…what's this item doing with the others that the ones the research team found?"

"Not sure…but I think we should ."

"Okay."

"Come on."

Sakurako then places the item inside the metallic suitcase and tells Izuku that she is going to do research on this item and invited him to come along saying that she might need his help in deciphering this item, which he nodded, feeling that this is something he couldn't ignore.

As the two are walking down the stairs, a police car came crashing the glass door of the entrance which surprised everyone inside the police station, and Izuku instinctively pulls Sakurako to the side, dropping the suitcase and the item fell off.

There the door was kicked open and something emerged from the police car, where the body of a dead policeman was thrown out, showing signs that his neck was crushed based on the amount of blood trickling from his mouth.

Then the assailant crawled out, which was brown-skinned, wearing only a loincloth that makes it look like a tribal member that is seen in movies like Apocalypto. He then looked around before firing strands of web and began attacking randomly.

The cops drew their guns and opened fire, only to find out that the bullets, though it hit the target, didn't penetrate the target's skin and simply fell down.

The creature then saw the item on the floor, which somewhat agitated it for a reason and is heading towards it, where Izuku and Sakurako are near it, and believing that the two are about to be attacked, the cops opened fire, distracting it and the creature began attacking the cops.

In less than a minute ten dead bodies are laid on the floor, and Izuku glanced at the item, and for reasons unknown, he began to SEE VISIONS regarding the item, and there he moves without thinking as he grabbed the item and puts it around his waist.

A bright light shine briefly before dissipating, and Sakurako was shocked as the item was absorbed into Izuku's body, and the creature appeared to be apprehensive for a reason as it grabbed Izuku and dragged him outside, ignoring the surviving, injured cops.

Sakurako then followed the creature and there she saw it beating Izuku up as while speaking for the first time, though in a language even she couldn't figure out, and leaving Izuku baffled.

"Hmm... Suspicor nihil trepidasse."

"Huh?"

"Ad genus humile similis tui…videtur te facile agere cum…"

"What…what are you talking…I can't…"

"Nulla materia…Ego te necabo!"

"What is this guy talking…"

"Nunc morere!"

"Eh…?"

In the spur of the moment, Izuku decided to fight back and began punching and kicking the creature, where armored parts emerging, from his arms, then his legs, his torso and finally the head. Izuku is enveloped in black armor with a white-colored outer armor while its helmet vaguely resembled that of a stag beetle head, and Sakurako was shocked at what she saw just now.

"No way…Midoriya…?"

To Be Continued...

Hope you liked this chapter, as I sort of started the story with a bit of a horror-type elements and mystery, while an original plot is applied which shows that Midoriya is assisting a researcher on archeology and stuff, something that is never seen in the manga or anime…

Tsukauchi appeared and is going to be a rather important character in the upcoming chapters…

And a mysterious creature showed up and attacks, which Midoriya acted without thinking by donning the belt-like artifact and soon transformed into a figure with strange armor. Will he be able to fight off this mysterious attacker despite being Quirkless?
