Chapter 8: Woody's Accusation.
"To Infinity and Beyond!" That afternoon, Andy was playing with Woody and Buzz after he packed more of his things just as his mom opened his door. "Oh, all this packing makes me hungry. What would you say to dinner at, oh… Pizza Planet?" She asked. "Pizza Planet?! Oh cool!" Andy said, putting Woody and Buzz on his desk before walking out his door. As Andy's mom closed the door, Woody, who had Buzz on top of him, pushed Buzz off of him. "Go wash your hands and I'll get Molly ready." Andy's mom said outside the door. "Can I bring some toys?" Andy asked. "You can bring 1 toy." Andy's mom made clear. "Just 1?!" Andy complained.
"One toy?" Woody asked himself and looked at Buzz looking through Andy's school things. He then picked up a magic 8 ball. "Will Andy pick me?" He asked, shaking it. A blue triangle appeared. Outlook: Don't count on it. "Don't count on it?!" Woody groaned, shaking the ball. Potato Head, who was playing cards with Hamm, heard Woody groaning. Woody then tossed the ball aside. The ball rolled across the desk and fell between the desk and the wall. Woody heard the thud and looked between the cracks, seeing the ball lodged between the desk and the wall. He then peaked over at Buzz. Then he glanced at a sleeping RC, getting an idea. "Buzz!" Woody cried, getting Buzz's attention. "Buzz, Buzz Lightyear! Thank goodness! We've got trouble!" He lied. "Trouble? Where?" Buzz asked. "Down there!" Woody said, pointing at the crack. "Just down there! A helpless toy! He's trapped, Buzz!" He cried dramatically. "Then we've no time to lose!" Buzz said, heading over at once, giving Woody time to creep over to RC.
Buzz looked down the crack. Woody picked up RC's controller and adjusted the steering, so that RC was aiming for Buzz. But little did Woody notice, the adjusting was waking RC up. "I don't see anything!" Buzz said. "Oh, he's there. Just- Just keep looking." Woody said, squeezing the controller's trigger, sending RC driving towards Buzz. "What kind of toy-" Buzz saw RC coming and jumped out of the way as RC drove into Andy's corkboard. Potato Head gasped as the thumbtacks fell on top of Buzz. Woody looked on as the board fell to the ground, knocking Andy's globe loose. Buzz ran as the globe rolled towards him, but he tripped on some pencils and rolled to the side to the windowsill. The globe then rolled into the desk lamp and off the desk. Woody ducked before the lamp could hit him, causing it to hit Buzz, knocking him out of the window. (Wilhelm Scream) "Buzz!" Everyone cried. "Buzz!" Woody called as Buzz landed in the bush next to the house. Everyone gathered at the window. "Where is he?" Peyton asked. "I don't' see him in the driveway. I think he bounced into Sid's yard!" Slinky said with worry. That made everyone gasp and shudder. "Buzz!" Rex cried as Woody slowly back away.
Just then, Rex heard RC whirling his gears. "Hey everybody! RC's trying to say something!" He said. "What is it, boy?" Slinky asked as RC tried to tell them what happened. "What's RC saying?" Kaz asked. "He's saying that this was no accident." Potato Head translated. Everyone was confused. "What do you mean?" Bo asked. "I mean Humpty Dumpty was pushed. By WOODY!" Potato Head said, pointing at Woody. "What?!" Everyone gasped. "Wait a minute. You don't think I meant to knock Buzz out the window, do you Potato Head?" Woody asked, trying to act innocent. "That's Mr. Potato Head to you, you backstabbing murderer." Potato Head accused. "Now, it was an accident. Guys, come on. Now you gotta believe me." Woody said. "We believe you, Woody." Slinky said, causing everyone to glare at him. "Right Rex?" He asked, turning to Rex. "I- I don't like confrontations!" Rex said, backing up. "Well, I believe him." Harry said. "So do I." Hermione added. "Me too." Ron said, raising his hand. "As do we." Tom said. "Of course, you guys would." Potato Head glowered, making Harry's team glare at him.
Suddenly, Sarge popped his head out of his packed bucket. "Where is your honor, dirtbag?! You are an absolute disgrace!" He ranted. "You don't deserve to be-" Woody closed the bucket lid and turned to see the others glaring at him. "Couldn't handle Buzz cutting on your playtime, could you Woody? Didn't wanna face the fact that Buzz just might be Andy's new favorite toy. So, you got rid of him!" Potato Head said, backing Woody against the edge of the desk. "Well, what if Andy starts playing with me more, Woody huh? You gonna knock me out of the window too?!" Potato Head asked. Woody innocently shook his head. "I don't think we should give him a chance." Hamm said. Oh, I smell trouble." Ron said.
Just then, more of Sarge's men popped out of the bucket. "There he is, men! Drag him!" Sarge ordered. "CHARGE!" The soldiers yelled, grabbing onto Woody. "Let's string him up by his pull string!" Potato Head said, running towards Woody. "I got dibs on his hat!" Hamm called. "Will you boys stop it?!" Bo called, trying to break up the fight. "Tackle him!" Hamm yelled. The other toys joined in. RC blocked Woody's escape. Snake wrapped himself around Woody's legs. Rock and Robot grabbed Woody's arms. "No wait, I can explain everything!" Woody tried to protest. Suddenly, they heard Andy's voice from the door. "Okay Mom. Be right down! I gotta get Buzz!" Andy said. "Retreat!" The soldiers called as everyone hurried back to their boxes. Woody froze back onto the desk as Andy ran in to get Buzz. But Andy was saddened to see that Buzz wasn't there. "Mom, do you know where Buzz is?" Andy asked, looking under the bed. "No, I haven't seen him!" Andy's mom answered. "Psst." Woody looked over to see Etch drawing up a hangman's noose with Potato Head pointing right at him. "Andy, I'm heading out the door!" Andy's mom called. "But Mom, I can't find him!" Andy said. "Just grab some other toy. Now come on!" Andy's mom called. "Okay." Andy whined, grabbing Woody. As Andy left the room with Woody, Harry and his team peaked out from behind the toy chest. "I think we should go with Woody." Maxxor suggested. "He's right. If Woody is innocent, it's probably best that we stick with him until the other toys can find Buzz." Sly said. "If he's even alive." Kaz said. "Shut up, Kaz!" Peyton and Sarah shouted. "Right. We'll apparate into the back of Andy's mom's van. And Bo, if you guys find Buzz, you know how to contact us." Harry said. "Just be careful Harry. I really don't want to see Woody get hurt." Bo said. Harry nodded. The team then took each other's hands and apparated away.
By then, Andy exited the house. "I couldn't find my Buzz. I know I left him right there." He said. "Andy, I'm sure he's around. You'll find him." Andy's mom assured. Just then, Buzz popped out of the bush. After seeing Woody in Andy's grasp, he quietly growled, raced for the van and hopped onto the bumper just as it started to drive away.
Later on, the other toys were using Bo's crook to lower a chain of toy monkeys towards the bushes. But the chain was too short. "It's too short! We need more monkeys!" Slinky called. "There aren't anymore! That's the whole barrel!" Rex cried, showing just the empty barrel the monkeys came in. He tossed the barrel aside and walked to the window as Slinky and Bo started pulling the monkeys back in. "Buzz, the monkeys aren't working! We're formulating another plan! Stay calm!" He called. "Oh, where could he be?" He asked.
