Chapter 10: Pizza Planet
Woody, Buzz, and the heroes hid in empty cups and containers as they waited for the door to open. "You are cleared to enter. Welcome to Pizza Planet." The robots said, opening the doors. "Now!" Buzz said. They ran for the doors as they started to close. "Quickly, Sheriff! The airlock is closing!" Buzz said.
They made it through the doors. They dropped down as a couple of kids ran by. When Buzz tried to advance, he walked right into Woody's cup. "Watch where you're going!" Woody growled. "Sorry!" Buzz whispered. As they continued, they made their way in between some arcade games. As they ditched their disguises, Buzz was in awe what he saw Pizza Planet's arcade area. "What a spaceport! Good work, Woody." He said. Woody, and the heroes looked around the area. There were virtual planet blasters, alien slime beverage machines and alien whacking games. "Wow! Makes me wish I went to these kinds of places for my birthday." Ron said. "Me too, Ron. Me too." Hermione agreed. "I never knew Earth had this kind of stuff to offer." Maxxor said. "Makes me feel like a kid again." Carmelita said. "Me too, Carm. Me too." Sly said.
"Mom, can I play Black Hole?" Andy's voice asked. Woody turned and saw Andy, Molly and their mom. "Please? Please, please?" "Andy!" He said with relief. But Buzz was still looking around for a certain ship. "Now we need to find a ship that's heading for Sector 12." He said. "No, no, no Buzz. This way." Woody said, pulling Buzz along. Harry and the others followed close behind. "There's a special ship. I just saw it." He said as they ran around the games. "You mean it has hyperdrive?" Buzz asked. "Hyperactive hyperdrive." Woody lied as Molly's stroller approached. "And astro- uh turf." Buzz started to look around for this 'special ship' while Woody and the others kept their eyes on Molly's stroller. "Where is it? I don't see any- Spaceship!" Buzz called, eyeing a rocket-shaped crane game. He looked at the sign that said 'ready to launch' and raced for the ship. "Okay, Buzz. When I say go, we're gonna jump in the basket." Woody said as the stroller was almost in range. "Uh Woody?" Ron said, pointing to where Buzz went. "BUZZ!" Woody yelled. But Buzz leapt through the prize chute and into the game. Just then, the stroller passed them. "No!" Woody grunted as Andy's family walked out of sight. "This cannot be happening to me!" Woody growled. They were about to go after Buzz, but stopped to avoid being seen by the incoming customers.
Inside the rocket, Buzz leapt out of the prize chute and into a pile of squeaky, green, 3-eyed alien toys called Little Green Men. LGMs for short Buzz raised his hands, thinking they were hostile. "Stranger." "From the outside." "Oooooooh." The LGMs said. "Greetings. I am Buzz Lightyear. I come in peace." Buzz said, trying to get their friendship. The LGMs all walked up to Buzz and started admiring him.
As soon as the coast was clear, Woody, and the others raced for the rocket. "We'll stay here and keep an eye out. You go in and get Buzz." Harry said. Woody nodded and crawled in through the prize chute.
Woody climbed up as Buzz talked to the LGMs. "This is an intergalactic emergency. I need to commandeer your vessel to Sector 12. Who's in charge here?" Buzz asked. "The claw." The LGMs said, pointing up to a claw hanging from the top. "The claw is our master." "The claw chooses who will go and who will stay." The LGMs explained. "This is ludicrous." Woody muttered in annoyance. "Hey bozo, you got a brain in there?" A familiar voice asked. Woody turned around and gasped. It was Sid 'playing' the Whack-An-Alien game. After losing, Sid tossed the mallet aside. "Oh no! Sid!" Woody whispered. "Get down!" He jumped on top of Buzz, pushing him into the pile.
Sid walked up to the machine and put in some change to start the game. Luckily, Harry and his team hid behind the machine to avoid being seen. "What's gotten into you, Sheriff?!" Buzz asked. "You are the one that decided to climb into this-" Woody started to say, until he was shushed by one of the LGMs. "The claw. It moves." The LGM said. The claw dropped down and picked up one of the LGMs. "I have been chosen. Farewell my friends. I go on to a better place." The chosen LGM said as he ascended.
"Gotcha." Sid said as the crane dropped the LGM into the prize chute. Suddenly, Sid's eyes went wide-eyed. Buzz's head was sticking out of the pile of LGMs. "A Buzz Lightyear?! No way!" He said. Woody looked around for an exit. He saw a door where the LGMs are placed in the game. He pushed his way through the LGMs and struggled to open the door. Finally, he got the door open, but the crane had already descended, grabbing Buzz by his helmet. "Yes!" Sid said in victory. Woody gasped and leapt to grab Buzz's legs. "Buzz! No!" He said, dragging Buzz back down. "Hey!" Sid yelled, hitting the machine, thinking it was cheating him. Woody attempted to pull Buzz away from the crane and out the door, but the LGMs at the bottom came alive. "He has been chosen." "You must go." The LGMs said, knocking Woody's legs loose. "Hey! What're you doing?! Stop it! Stop it, you zealots!" Woody shouted as the LGMs pushed Woody along to be chosen, chanting not to fight the claw. The crane ascended, bringing up Buzz and Woody. "Alright! Double prizes!" Sid said as Buzz and Woody were dropped into the prize chute.
Sid took Woody and Buzz out from the prize chute and held them up. "Let's go home and play." He said, chuckling evilly. Harry and his friends watched in horror as Sid stuffed Woody, Buzz and the LGM into his bag and started to leave. "We've got to follow him." Harry said, knowing Sid's style of 'playing.' The others nodded. They ran after Sid and jumped onto his bag, climbing in just as Sid exited the building.
