Chapter 17: Woody's Plan
At Andy's house, the movers loaded up the last of Andy's boxes. Andy looked sadly at Buzz's spaceship box and his cowboy hat before leaving his old room.
Next door, Sid was preparing Buzz for takeoff. He came out of the shed carrying a bunch of materials. "Houston to Mission Control. Come in, Mission Control. Launch pad is being constructed." He said, dropping the materials by Buzz.
Outside Sid's room, Scud stood by the door, ready to attack anything that exits. Inside, Woody was explaining the plan to everyone. "Alright, listen up. I need Pump Boy here. Ducky, here." Woody instructed. "Legs?" Legs stepped forth. "You're with Ducky." Legs and Ducky looked at each other. "Roller Bob and I don't move 'til we get the signal. Clear?" Woody asked. The mutant toys agreed. "We're with you, Woody." Harry said. The others nodded. "Okay. Let's move!" Woody called. Everyone started to move into position as Scud started barking from the other side the door. Legs and Ducky opened a vent by Sid's bed. Babyface stood by the door. Rockmobile got on her head as Hand-in-the Box ducked back into his box.
Ducky and Legs entered the vent's heating duct and looked for the right tunnel. Ducky quacked for Legs, finding the right tunnel and they headed down into it.
Roller Bob put his visor down and Woody got onto his back. "Wind the Frog." Woody called. Pump Boy winded the key on Frog's back.
Ducky and Legs found their way through some wall isolation into the attic and made their way towards a junction box.
Rockmobile lifted the box and Hand popped out, grabbing the doorknob. Rockmobile saluted, implying that they were ready. Pump Boy gave a thumbs up, saying that he and Frog were ready too. Woody gave a thumbs-up, ready with Roller Bob, Jingle Joe, Janie, Pterodactyl, Harry and his crew.
Ducky and Legs pulled on the junction box holding the porchlight up from its spot and Ducky peaked down, seeing that they were exactly over the porch.
"Wait for the signal." Woody said. Everyone kept their patience. "You think Legs and Ducky can pull this off?" Ginny asked. "I don't know. The anticipation's killing me." George said. "Steady, sailor." Angelina said.
Ducky hooked himself onto Legs' hook and hopped down the open hole. Ducky started swinging, reaching out to the doorbell. Finally, he gave one more swing and rang the doorbell.
"GO!" Woody shouted. Hand started to open the door. Pump Boy released Frog, getting Scud's attention to chase him. "Alright, let's move!" Woody said. Babyface, Rockmobile, Pump Boy, Hand and the heroes all got on Roller Bob. Janie and Pterodactyl got on Jingle Joe as Hand grabbed him. "I'll get it!" Hannah called as Scud chased Frog down the stairs. "Now!" Woody said. Roller Bob started moving, rolling everyone out of Sid's room.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" Hannah called as Ducky rang the doorbell again. As Hannah opened the door, finding nobody there, Legs lowered Ducky to the ground. Scud continued to chase Frog down the stairs. Frog raced for the open door, wheeling between Hannah's feet and into Ducky's arms. Scud tripped Hannah and leapt for Ducky and Frog, but Legs reeled them back up quickly. "Scud!" Hannah cried as Legs pulled Ducky and Frog up through the hole. Scud looked up as they put the porchlight back. "Stupid dog!" Hannah said, slamming the door on Scud and walking to another room.
Woody, the heroes and the mutant toys rolled down the stairs and into the kitchen. They rolled under the kitchen table, towards another door. "Lean back!" Woody shouted. Everyone leaned back and they shot right out through the doggy door and into the bushes.
