The group were waken early as the sun rose upon them and they made their way through the forest. Frost was floating above and a bit ahead of them, while Hiccup was leading the group on the ground.

"Not much further from the village." Hiccup promised them.

"How well do you know these people?" Elsa asked as they walked past a pond, catching Rapunzel's attention.

"Well, I don't really know them that well." Hiccup confesses as Rapunzel approached the pond. "I helped them out with their dragon problem a while back, and they sheltered me for some time. They're a village of mostly elders, maybe some of them know a thing or two about Pitch Black."

They then heard someone cheer and turned to face the lake where Rapunzel raced in and started laughing. "Look at all of this water! It's so refreshing!" She cheered as she ran around. "Come on in!"

The others looked around confused as to what to do while Jack flew down to her. "Blondie, I don't think that we can-"

Jack was interrupted when Rapunzel just splashed him with the water. "See? Refreshing!"

Jack then smiled as he used his staff and sent a wave to splash Rapunzel, soaking her. Rapunzel laughed at that and the two keep splashing each other back and forth.

"Okay, you asked for this!" Jack stated and used his staff to slam the water, causing it to send a giant wave, followed by it consuming Rapunzel as she slipped and fell, but continued to laugh.

"Should we get them to stop?" Anna asked.

"Meh, looks like they're having fun." Hiccup shrugged when he suddenly picked up a distinct smell. Burning wood. When he looked, he saw black smoke in the distance. "Oh, no..." he quickly raced through the forest, leaving the others behind as he took off on Toothless who caught up with him.

"Hey, where you going in such a hurry?" Jack asked as he quickly got back in the air and followed the dragon rider.

"Hey, what about us?" Anna asked as the boys flew off.

"I have a feeling they're not used to playing with others." Elsa took a wild guess on their behalf.

"Come on! We're gonna loose them!" Rapunzel told the sisters and quickly ran after the two of them while the sisters followed her. Picking up the hair on the way so she didn't get snagged on something.

Hiccup flew over the forest as fast as he could and saw a small puff of smoke coming into the air and saw as the forest went from its peaceful beautiful environment into a place of smoke, dead trees, and fire.

"What could've done this?" Jack asked as he reached Hiccup and they kept flying until they came across the village and saw everything was destroyed.

"By the gods..." Hiccup whispered as he and Toothless landed.

The two stood there in complete shock as to what they're seeing just as the girls ran up and saw the village.

"What happened here?" Anna questioned.

"What could've done this?" Elsa asked in shock.

"Dragons..." Hiccup could easily tell as everything here was destroyed by different circumstances. Thunderdrum roar, Nightmare fire, and others.

"Thought you took care of their problem." Jack commented as he looked and saw a doll scorched and picked it up.

"Pitch..." Hiccup snarled as he knew this could only be his doing. Somehow he was involved.

"Well, I guess this is why we were chosen to defeat him, right?" Rapunzel asked them as Hiccup walked over to one of the scorched houses.

Elsa walked over to him and could see his sad expression. "Did you lose someone here?"

"Like I said, I didn't know many of them but there was this one man." Hiccup said and gestured to the scorched home. "He lived here with his wife and three year old daughter. They were the ones to shelter me and Toothless when we were dealing with their dragon problems."

"I'm sorry." Elsa apologized.

"It wasn't your fault. It was Pitch's." Hiccup said with anger. "When we find him-"

"Oh..." A new voice said, causing all of them to jump in fear and turned to the top of a bolder to see Pitch Black standing there with his arms crossed behind his back. "Please, by all means, what will you do?"

Hiccup worked fast and pulled out Inferno and aimed it at Pitch as Toothless got ready to fire a plasma blast. Jack raised his staff and Elsa raised her hands with mist coming off, Anna grabbed a nearby sword and just raised it while Pascal shrieked in fear and hid in Rapunzel's hair who picked up a nearby frying pan.

"So this is the new mighty Guardians?" Pitch questioned as he looked at the five of them. "The ones that were chosen to defeat me? Children?" He then raised his chest out as he looked up into the sky while laughing. "Oh, I'm terrified."

"You should be." Hiccup declared before turning to his dragon. "Toothless!"

Toothless then blasted at the monster, but he suddenly vanished before the blast could hit him.

"Did you really think that would work?" Pitch asked as the five of them spun and looked around, trying to find out where he is. "Do you truly think that you have what it takes to take me on? You're nothing but children!"

"Why are you doing this?!" Rapunzel asked as she spotted a frying pan and quickly picked it up so she's not defenseless. "Don't you have any humanity?"

"No." Pitch suddenly appeared behind her, causing Rapunzel to gasp, and spun around to see him. "Boo!"

Rapunzel shrieked and tripped on her own hair and falling over as Elsa ran in between the two. "Stay away from her!" She then shot a beam of ice from her hands at the monster as Pitch avoided her blast and vanished again.

"Why are you doing this?" Hiccup asked as he and Toothless stood back to back.

"Maybe because I'm tired of the hiding under other people's beds!" Pitch declared as they watch his shadow roll across the ground.

"Maybe that's where you belong!" Jack declared as he looked around for him.

"Hang on, Jack Frost?" Pitch asked in shock before laughing and Jack continued to look around. "Since when did you start working for Madame Web?"

"I didn't." Jack stated as he tried to find where the voice was coming from.

"Oh, good." Pitch said, causing Jack to turn and see him laying his elbow on a scorched piece of wood. "A neutral party. Then I'm gonna ignore you. But you must be used to that by now." He stated with a laugh and strolled away.

"Pitch!" Hiccup cried and charged at him but was met with a dragon coming down and roaring, throwing Hiccup back and cutting his hand as he landed on glass as the others backed away in fear.

The dragon was a Monstrous Nightmare, or at least it was supposed to be. Instead of its natural look, the dragon was all black with bright yellow eyes.

"Whoa, girl, easy." Pitch called down the dragon and turned to the children. "What did you think I caused all of this destruction by myself? No, I had some help from them and a few friends." He then scratched the dragon and revealed some sand falling off it. "Took me a while to perfect this little trick. But after a thousand years in the Dark Multiverse, you learn a few neat tricks. They smell fear, you know."

"Why don't you call them off then and face us by yourself!" Hiccup dared him.

"What, are you nuts?" Jack asked Hiccup who turned to face the white haired boy sternly.

"Guys, can you stop?" Elsa asked the two.

"Look at you!" Pitch laughed as if this was all a joke to him. "You can't even work together, and you're supposed to defeat me? I don't think so."

"Is all of this just a game to you?" Hiccup asked as he gestured around the destruction. "All of this death and destruction and for what?!"

"To finally be FREE!" Pitch declared. "And that will be easier once you're dead." He then created a wave of dark energy and tossed it at them like a tidal wave.

"We need to go!" Jack cried as he raced off, followed by the others close behind him.

Rapunzel looked in shock before running off with them, but her hair seemed to have been caught to some wood and caused her to trip.

"Ahh!" Rapunzel cried out, causing Hiccup to stop and turn to face her.

"Rapunzel!" Hiccup cried and raced back over to her, quickly making it over to her, but saw the darkness was approaching.

Not knowing what else he can do, Hiccup grabbed onto Rapunzel and attempted to shield her from the wave as she wrapped her arms around him in fear. The two closed their eyes and waited for the approaching darkness to consume them.

But to everyone's shock, including Pitch's, once the wave hit them, the dark sand suddenly became a golden globe and suddenly the dust is sent flying back towards Pitch. Once it reaches him, it sends Pitch flying backwards and caused him to scream in pain.

The rest of the team looked shock at what just occurred and watched as Pitch Black was sent flying. Once he got up, Jack went in to attack him, but Pitch ran off, followed by the Nightmare picking him up.

Toothless raced over to Hiccup to protect him while shooting more at Pitch but misses as he flew off as Elsa shot at him, but he vanished into a mountain and disappears before her magic could hit him.

Rapunzel finally opened her eyes and noticed they were okay. "Uh...Hiccup?"

Hiccup opened his eyes and noticed it himself. "What happened?"

"That's supposed to be our question." Anna stated as she approached the two.

Jack flew back over with a sigh of anger. "He's gone."

"Yeah, great work, Team." Elsa sighed.

"This wasn't for nothing at least, he said he wanted to be free." Hiccup commented. "He has something planned."

"It sounds like it would've been something Madame Web could've informed us on." Anna stated.

"It means that he has a motive behind everything he's doing." Hiccup continues to explain while Jack walked over to where Pitch vanished from. "We have to find out what they are if we're going to defeat him."

"What exactly happened? What was that gold dust?" Elsa asked.

"I've never seen anything like that before." Hiccup confessed.

"Free from what?" Jack whispered as he saw some dust left behind from Pitch. He reached down and ran his fingers across it and suddenly felt like it stung him before shaking it off.

"Hiccup, you're bleeding." Rapunzel commented, looking at Hiccup's arm.

"Oh, wouldn't you know." Hiccup commented as he saw the cut down his arm.

"We need to get somewhere safe. Away from here." Elsa stated as she kept looking around for Pitch.

"She's right." Hiccup agreed and helped Rapunzel stand. "You all right?"

"Yeah. Thanks for the save." Rapunzel said sheepishly.

"Don't mention it." Hiccup shrugged and winced as he grabbed his arm to stop the blood.

"I might be able to help with that." Rapunzel informed him, scratching her hand.

"Really? You're a healer?" Hiccup asked her, amazed to hear that.

"Not...exactly." Rapunzel said, causing them to all look confused.

Pitch traveled back to Drago's headquarters and toppled as he tried to stand.

"What happened?" Gothel asked him in worry.

"Those children...I learned what makes them so special." Pitch stated with an angry look. "I thought they all went wiped out. But that dragon boy...he's one of them. We need to move up the schedule." He said and Gothel could hear the fear in his voice.

"What do you need us to do?" Gothel questioned and watched Pitch's smile grow.

Back with the group, Jack was placing some more firewood into the campfire they set up while Rapunzel was wrapping Hiccup's arm in her hair.

"You know, you're being awfully cryptic as to why you're currently wrapping your seventy foot hair around my injured arm." Hiccup commented on Rapunzel's quietness as she wrapped her hair too tight, causing him to cry out. "Gah!"

"Sorry." Rapunzel apologized. "Just...please don't freak out."

Jack looked confused and took a seat next to Hiccup and leaned off his staff. "This I gotta see."

Rapunzel sighed and closed her eyes, about to show others the gift her mother always told to keep a secret from others.

"Flower, gleam and glow. Let your power shine." She starts singing and the group watches as her hair began glowing from her head and begins to travel throughout her hair. "Make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine."

Toothless watched and followed the glow as it traveled throughout her hair as the glowing passes Pascal, he just sat there with a smile on his face.

Elsa looed to Anna, confused as to what the chameleon is smiling about. "Heal what has been hurt. Change the fates design." Rapunzel continued to sing as the glowing hair reached Hiccup's arm. "Save what has been lost. Bring back what once was mine...what once was mine."

Jack looked over Hiccup's shoulder in confusion as Hiccup began to unwrap his arm and Rapunzel watched as they looked and saw that his cut was healed like it never even happened. The boys looked completely shocked while the girls looked more surprised than shocked.

"Whoa..." Jack was the first to speak.

"Well, this is my life now." Hiccup guessed and shrugged it off and got up to head towards the fire to cook some fish.

"Wait, what? No, I'm sorry, your hair can heal people?" Jack asked in complete shock and confusion as he turned to Rapunzel. "How? I mean, how long has your hair been able to do that?!"

Rapunzel just laughed at his reaction and is happy none of them were freaked out from her abilities, just more freaking out at the discovery. "Forever I guess. Mother said when I was a baby, people tried to cut it. They wanted to take it for themselves." She then moved her hair to reveal a small strand of brown hair on the back. "But once it's cut, it turns brown and loses its power. A gift like that...it needs to be protected."

"That's why you never left that tower, isn't it?" Jack finally realized. "And you plan on going back after we're done?"

"No!" Rapunzel stated before questioning what she's going to do. "Yes." She then sighed and dropped her head in her hands. "It's complicated. I see mother was right, the outside work is dangerous, but look at us! We're on an adventure to stop a monster from hurting people. This is all I've ever wanted. But...I don't think I can go back to the way things were."

"I don't think any of us can go back to that." Elsa commented. "I mean, I always thought that I was alone. The only one with powers like this. But now I see I'm not the only one."

"None of us have to be alone anymore." Anna stated, feeling a little left out for being the only one with no power or ability like the rest of them. "So...what do we do now?"

They all look around to one another, no idea what they're going to do when they heard a screech and looked to see Hiccup's Terrible Terror came back with a new message attached.

"Good. Maybe there's some good news." Hiccup prayed as he looked at the message and the others saw a smile appear on his face and rolled the message up. "Great. Now we have someone who knows something that can help us."

"Who?" Elsa asked him in confusion.

"Trust me, it's easier to show than tell." Hiccup promised her. "We better get some rest. It's gonna be a long trip in the morning."

"Where is it we're going?" Jack asked him.

"Kumandra." Hiccup answers and laid down next to his dragon.

"Kuma-what?" Anna asked as he doesn't answer and drifted off to sleep.

"Never heard of it." Elsa stated.

"Not many have. Except those who've visited it." Hiccup informed them as they all rested for the night.

As time passed, Jack watched as everyone slept and was drifting off when the voice returned. "Jack?"

Jack then turned to where the voice came from and is getting confused as to where it's coming from. "Who are you..? Why do I know you?"
