MORTAL 18 - Yes, there will be a few ships in this. Just don't want to give away anything. And I'm afraid of the other fandoms. But if you want an idea of what I'm gonna go with, read my story "Hiccup".
Toothless flew down and landed on the ground just a second before Jack landed just outside the village of Heart as the sun began to set against the sea.
"Okay, that's too much fast." Anna commented as she got off the dragon and tried to find her footing.
"Whoo! You are fast!" Jack complimented Hiccup.
"Welcome to Heart, guys!" Hiccup said to a smile as they noticed a figure standing on the bridge.
She was an Southeast Asian girl of average height for someone their age with a slender, slightly muscular build, tan skin, long black hair, and dark brown eyes. She was wearing a yellow shirt, a brown vest, a brown belt, olive green jeans with light green stripes, dark brown boots with maroon cuffs, a red cape with a thin turquoise stripe, and a yellow necklace around her neck, and a Guangdong style conical hat. She also wore a blue band above her elbow and a thick brown wristband on her right arm.
She looked at them all as she raised her head so that her eyes were visible, and they saw a look of anger in her eyes towards them. More specifically towards Hiccup.
"Uh...I thought they liked him." Jack commented.
"You." The girl snarled as she marched down and drew her whip sword. Which is a wavy bladed sword, but they saw it wasn't a ordinary sword as it also had the ability to detach in a long-bladed string that can be used to grab and attack from afar.
"Raya!" Hiccup said happily, but then noticed her look.
"You've got a lot of nerve to come back here." Raya stated to him.
Hiccup looked behind him and then looked back at Raya and pointed at himself. "Me?"
But instead of responding, Raya swung her sword and released it into its detached form, causing Hiccup do need to dodge the attack and drew his sword.
"Should we help?" Elsa asked as she got ready to help as did the others.
"No, stay back!" Hiccup warned the group and went to charge at Raya while Toothless just got comfortable as he laid down.
Hiccup walked left slowly watching any type of attack from Raya while she removed her hat and cape without taking her eyes off of Hiccup. She then ran in for an attack as Hiccup did the exact same thing, Hiccup going for the first swing, but Raya saw that move coming and leaped over his blade and spun while doing so to get a hit at him.
Luckily, Hiccup was faster and blocked it with Inferno and goes to kick Raya, only so that she could back away but nearly slid and fell to one knee, allowing Hiccup time to strike. But Raya blocked the swing and got back up for the two to end up forcing the others blade on each other.
Meanwhile, the team just watched the fight go on and were not sure what to make of it.
"Does anyone know what's happening?" Jack asked the rest of the team.
"Honestly, they lost me at nerve." Anna confesses.
Back in the fight, Raya went running in as Hiccup swings his sword to hit her, but she knew he would do this and dived down and slid underneath the sword. She then sprung up and went to kick Hiccup again, but he dived down and moved back to get out of her range.
Sadly, he didn't take into account Raya saw it coming as she used her sword again and swung it to release her sword and sent it to wrap around Inferno, and then pulled causing Hiccup to lose his grasp.
"Aw, did you need that, Hiccy?" Raya asked as she went for the final blow, but Hiccup's armor actually protected him from it and allowed him to grab Raya's sword and allowing him to yank it from her grasp and tossing it away from them.
"Nah." Hiccup shrugged and the two then began some hand to hand combat.
"How long until we intervene?" Elsa asked them.
"I'm quite enjoying this." Anna admitted, wondering who's gonna win.
"I wanna see who wins. My money's on the girl." Jack confessed while Rapunzel and Pascal just watched and winced on every blow the two threw at each other.
Raya and Hiccup continue to fight but just ended up with the two of them holding the other in a twisted neck hold before both running out of air and collapsing on the ground, both completely out of breath.
"What do you say...we call it a truce this time?" Hiccup asked in exhaustion.
"Yeah...truce." Raya agreed and got back on her feet before holding a handout for Hiccup to take. "You almost had me that time. Someone's been practicing."
"Yeah, I've been having the time these past few days." Hiccup admitted while the others watched in confusion. "You almost got me with that fake out."
"It's great to see you again." Raya said as she walked over to Toothless who cooed at the sight of her. "And I hope he's been taking extra care of you!" She says as she scratches Toothless' snout with a squeaky voice while he begins trying to lick Raya. "Yes, he better!"
"Wait, hold on, I'm confused." Jack interrupted all of their fun as they looked to face him. "She was trying to kill you, you tried to kill her, and we were just watching it play out. Did I miss something?"
Raya and Hiccup laugh at that, and each rolled their eyes. "Hiccup, you gonna introduce me?"
"Raya, this is Jack, Rapunzel, Elsa, and her sister Anna." Hiccup introduced them as he picked up their swords and handed it back to her. "Guys, this is Raya. Daughter of Chief Benja and Princess of Heart."
"Pleasure to meet you all." Raya said with a smile and a wave. "Hiccup gave me a bit of a rundown on who you guys are. So...let me guess: Jack." She said as she gestured to the only other boy in the group.
"Correct." Jack confirmed as he leaned down on Toothless who smacked the invisible man off of him.
"Sister's Elsa and Anna." Raya said to the woman wearing an ice dress and her sister.
"That's us. "Anna confirmed.
"Pleasure to meet you." Elsa greeted.
"And that would make you..." Raya said towards Rapunzel who was smiling. "Kevin?"
"What?" Rapunzel suddenly became a bit more upset and confused and Jack bursts out laughing.
"I'm kidding! I know who you are, Rapunzel." Raya promised with a giggle.
"On the message you sent, you said you have some information for us regarding Pitch Black?" Hiccup asks Raya, wanting to get to the good news and bad news out of the way.
"Uh, yeah, Sisu said she knew everything." Raya said with a smile which began to dim down to a look of concern. "But...she was...I'm gonna have to go with scared."
"Sisu? Scared?" Hiccup asked. "Where is she now?"
"Heading here now. Wanna get somewhere more comfortable?" Raya asked and began to lead through her home, and they graciously followed.
The team wandered through the village and were impressed by how friendly everyone was to the outsiders. Whether they be working, or if they were just going about their day, they stopped and greeted them or greeted them as they were passing by.
"So, where's your father?" Hiccup asked.
"Right ahead." Raya said as they looked and saw Chief Benja who was talking with a few people before noticing the group and strolled over to them.
"Hiccup!" Benja said cheerfully as they walked in front of one another. "Raya said that you would be coming."
"Yeah, I wish it was under better circumstances, Chief Benja." Hiccup said with a sigh. "But this time it could be the end of the world."
Chief Benja then nodded and was informed of the context of the letter that was sent. "Then you best get to saving it."
"Yes, sir." Hiccup said with a bow.
"Will you be accompanying them, Dewdrop?" Benji asked Raya.
"Not sure. Just getting them to Sisu for now." Raya said and went back to leading them to where Sisu would be meeting them at.
"This is strange." Rapunzel commented. "Mother always said that people were selfish. That there were ruffians, thugs, quicksand, bugs, jus dangerous people. But...these people are nice."
"Some people are nice, some people are...monsters." Anna said with a smile that turned into a sad face.
"Personal experience?" Jack asked Anna with a surprised face.
"Yeah. Hans." Anna sighed as she walked ahead of the group to keep up with Raya and Hiccup.
"Who's Hans?" Rapunzel asked Elsa.
"Her...Ex-fiancé." Elsa said with a tone they could see was a term used very loosely. "The one that tried to kill me."
"Oh, the Hans from your story about the Great Thaw." Jack finally connected the dots from the story they told the other night to the group.
But before he could keep going, he suddenly smacked into a giant ball, causing it to move a slight bit.
"Oooh!" Rapunzel winced back in pain.
"Ow." Jack cried as he stepped back. "What the heck is this?"
They then watched as a face comes out of the brown sphere, revealing a part-pill bug, part-pug creature that gave a smile to the boy.
"Ah!" Jack cried in fear as he jumped back from whatever it is.
"Hey there, Tuk-Tuk, haven't seen you in a while." Hiccup said with a smile as he scratched the creature's face and it gave him a coo, followed with him unraveling from a sphere and walked closer to Hiccup who just kept scratching his chin. "You look like you've gotten bigger."
"Who's this?" Elsa asked as she approached the Tuk-Tuk.
"This is my pet, Tuk-Tuk." Raya introduced them to him. "Come on, Sisu should be here soon." She said and continued to lead them through her home.
"How did you guys meet?" Anna was curious to learn.
"It happened about two months after I left Berk. I was still roaming for a place to call home and I stumbled up here by complete accident. Raya was just getting over her previous adventure of defeating the...I'm sorry, I could never pronounce it." Hiccup was explaining before turning to Raya to continue the tale.
"I was finishing up on banishing the Druun, which is a plague that spread like wildfire, consuming everything and multiplying as they turned everyone they touched to stone." Raya explains to them her part of the story. "And I was completely shocked to see someone riding a dragon when we first met."
"After we introduced ourselves to each other, we talked, and I met her father Chief Benja, I stop by here every now and then when I need supplies." Hiccup explains as they reached a cabin and were immediately greeted with Sisu coming down.
Sisu is a long, blue, spindly looking dragon with a darker shade on her back and a lighter shade on her stomach, arms, and face. She has short dorsal fins on her back and possesses white-bluish-violet hair as a mane and a small tuft of her at the end of her tail. She has big purple eyes, two dark blue horns on her head, and sharp teeth.
"Hey there, Hiccup!" Sisu greeted Hiccup happily. "Great to see you still got your head in the skies."
"That's one fluffy dragon." Anna commented in shock at the talking dragon.
"Sisu. Guys, this is Sisudatu. A Water Dragon." Hiccup introduced her to the group. "Sisu, this is Jack, Elsa, Anna, and Rapunzel."
"Really fluffy." Elsa agreed with her sister in the same amount of shock.
"Pleasure to meet you guys." Sisu greeted them happily before turning serious. "But if what you said about Pitch Black being here is true...then we are in trouble."
"How do you know Pitch Black?" Jack was curious to know.
"I was there...when it all began." Sisu stated to him. "We were the ones who defeated him the first time."
"We? First time?" Raya asked Sisu. "When did you defeat him the first time?"
"When we defeated the Druun." Sisu stated as she remembered the day from five hundred years ago. "Because he was the one who created them..."
Kumandra: 500 YEARS AGO...
Pitch Black was standing on a giant cloud of dark sand as the entire world began to be turned to complete darkness as he just relished in his victory as he was laying waste to the whole world as the Druun was turning everyone to stone.
But down on the ground near the shore, the people that were left of Kumandra were all joining forces, along with forces from other islands.
"When Pitch first appeared, the world was almost lost. Everything was almost lost. But before Pitch could defeat the last of Kumandra, they were able to assemble an army from the seas."
Hiccup Haddock the l'st lead the army of Berk off from their boats and looked over to another group. King Derma, and his army from Arendelle, followed by his army of men.
From the hero on came a group of horses with guards and soldiers from the kingdom of Corona, and the dragons of Kumandra all nodded to them all.
"Several kingdoms answered their call and came to help in the world's time in need."
Pitch looked down to the forming alliance and sighed before beginning to summon the Druun to charge at them all.
"Forward!" The king of Corona cried out and drew his sword and ran off on his horse.
"With me!" Hiccup the 1st cried out and lead the charge of his people and they all charged at the Druun.
The people of the world all fought as one to take on the coming plague with their unique skills.
"Even the gods sent warriors to help."
An eagle came flying down and suddenly transformed into a giant snake to dig a trench for the Druun to fall down into.
Pitch sees that he's losing and went down for an attack with his own powers. His dust came across several people and they begin to grunt and scream in agony as their skin became darker and their fingers became completely black.
"Pitch's power is to transform people from anywhere and turn them into their darkest version of themselves. Depending on the strength of their will is how long they can hold off the transformation. Some may even have strong enough wills to even be immune to the power."
The snake was attacked by the sand and transformed into a normal giant buff man with a dozen tattoos with a giant fishhook who shook the sand off as if it was no big deal to him and went back to the fight
As the battle continued, they saw that they were losing the fight, and Sisu was standing around a pond as all of the others have been turned to stone except for her and her siblings: Amba, Jagan, Pranee, and Pengu.
Pengu though finally had an idea as he reached down and turned it into a gem.
"This part some of you might be familiar with. One by one, all of my siblings combined their magic and created the Dragon Gem."
Sisu was then handed the dragon gem as her siblings were transformed into stone and she uses the gem to vanish the Druun.
Pitch then was thrown off of his cloud of dust and saw his army was defeated. He began to get up when he was suddenly surrounded by the rulers of all the lands.
"But when the Druun was defeated, Pitch was left standing."
The leaders then all kept their swords drawn on him as one of them closed their eyes and whispered something as Pitch started to be surrounded by glowing yellow dust that begins to consume him.
"So all of the leaders of all the lands kept him surrounded as the Queen of Corona used magic to banish him to realms unknown."
The dust finally vanishes and leaves the leaders of the kingdoms to see the battle is won, and everyone who was attacked were being freed from their stone selves.
As of saying a silent agreement, the leaders all nod and knew this wasn't going to be over just like that and they all used their swords to cut their hands.
"Fearing that Pitch would return one day, they made a blood oath to all come together again should Pitch one day return. And that this bond they forged would live on through their descendants."
The leaders all shook hands, and their blood was fused with one another.
Years past and nobody has remembered Pitch as nobody from Kumandra survived long enough throughout most of the battle, and over the 500 years, the story of their alliance was faded into nothing but a legend, followed into becoming a story, then being forgotten all together.
500 YEARS LATER:
The story left everyone in the room completely shocked by the story they were just told.
"Whoa..." Rapunzel was the first to finally speak.
"So we need to assemble the kingdoms again?" Jack asked what he got from the story.
"That will be the only way we can defeat Pitch again." Sisu confirmed. "The leaders of the lands must come back in order to defeat him."
"But what about Pitch said about being free?" Anna asked her. "When we first met him, he said he wanted to be free."
"I think it means he's not truly free of his prison." Sisu guessed.
"What does he need to be freed?" Elsa wondered.
"He would need the exact opposite of the people who banished him." Sisu explained to them. "They fought for freedom and peace. Purest of heart. He would need at least five people of the darkest of hearts to free him. And if that happens...it's game over."
"That sounds like he's gonna need to travel the world to find people like that." Jack joked.
"He might already have one with this Drago guy." Rapunzel reminded them as they noticed Hiccup was looking around the room in a frenzy.
"Hiccup, what's wr-?" Elsa asked as she noticed, and he raised his hand as he kept looking.
"Shh!" Hiccup interrupted her and looked up to the ceiling as they saw something moving around up there.
"What is that?" Anna asked in worry as she grabbed onto her sister for support.
"Maybe it's just the wind?" Raya tried to assure her as she drew her sword, knowing it's not really the wind.
But they then looked and saw a mysterious figure hiding in the shadows who has been sitting at the table.
"I hope you don't mind. I must say, it's thrilling to see you all in person." The voice of Grimmel filled the room as if he was talking to them casually while he poured himself a drink and then drank it. "It took a while to track you all down," He then walked towards them as everyone started taking defensive positions as he walked towards them and Hiccup activated Inferno, "but now I have the privilege of meeting the Dragon Rider."
"I have a shot." Jack tells Hiccup as he and Toothless looked angry at him.
"Not yet." Hiccup whispered to the two of them. "Who are you and what do you want?"
"You'll see at the end of the day, my purpose of me being here is more complex than you think." Grimmel stated as he strolled through the room and sat down on a more comfortable chair. "But let's get to the point, shall we? I think you all know who I'm representing."
"Pitch Black?" Sisu asked him curiously as everyone looked at her. "What? He said we already knew, but I didn't really guess."
"You all have no idea who I am, do you?" Grimmel asked the team.
"Another one of Pitch's lackeys?" Rapunzel took a wild guess.
"I am the Night Fury slayer!" Grimmel stated angrily towards all of them. "I have made it my mission to destroy the beasts and rid this world of them."
Hiccup looked to Toothless and then back at Grimmel with anger.
Far off from the group and Grimmel, Hans was strolling through the halls of the temple that held the most powerful artifact of Heart and Kumandra.
Hans was able to make it past all of the traps with help of the Terrible Terrors that were currently under Pitch's control. Once he made it to the room, he strolled up and saw the Dragon Gem is just floating in the middle of the room.
"There you are..." Hans whispered.
"I've hunted down every Night Fury down in existence, all except for yours." Grimmel informed Hiccup as if he was proud of that statement. "You will hand him over to me, or I-"
"I will never give him up!" Hiccup stated to him as a matter of fact, never giving Toothless away, especially to a Hunter.
Grimmel then laughed and walked around the room. "Do you truly believe that you are capable of fighting me and my friends over a simple idea? I will burn this place to the ground if I have to..."
Raya looked and noticed her father, wearing his mask, was just outside and he was seeing everything. She saw she needed to buy him some more time for whatever he's planning.
"You want him, you go through us." Raya stated as she marched next to Hiccup with her sword pointed right at Grimmel, Jack walked behind and kept his staff raised, and Elsa did the same with her hands and to his right while Rapunzel raised her frying pan to his left.
"You think that you can just come in here, threaten our homes and our friends, then believe me, you couldn't be more wrong!" Hiccup stated as he got closer to Grimmel with inferno placed near his neck but notices how it doesn't even phase him. "I've defeated worse threats than you!"
"Ooh, a fighting spirit!" Grimmel said with a chuckle. "Pitch said you would be a worthy adversary. But I'm afraid you're mistaken..." his face then turned more bitter. "...you've never seen anything like me!"
Grimmel then turned away from the group and towards Benja, who he always knew was there, and whistled.
The team then looked very much afraid as they have no idea what he just did. They then noticed something scorching through the roof of the home.
Jack looked completely shocked as he was underneath the scorching wood and jumped out of the way just as the Deathgrippers came crashing through the ceiling.
Anna backed away and fell over as she dared scurrying away.
"Take cover!" Hiccup cried out to all of them as Rapunzel started to pick up her hair, not wanting it to get scorched.
One of the Deathgrippers charged at her, just as Raya came in and interrupted by shooting her sword out to block the Deathgripper from the kill.
Elsa quickly worked fast and began to put out the flames in the room with her powers as Jack tried to look through the smoke when he saw the others trying to get out of the burning building.
Working fast, Jack flew through the burns and quickly froze the acid these dragons were spitting before the others could get hit.
Toothless quickly made it through the building and picked up Anna and Rapunzel to get them to safety.
"Get them out of here!" Benja cried to the others as he tried to fight off the Deathgrippers.
"Chief, I admire your enthusiasm, but you can't fight them!" Hiccup says and begins to drag him out of the building when they made it out and saw someone was missing.
"Where's Elsa?!" Anna cried as she ran over to them. The two then turned back and noticed through the smoke that Elsa was still inside, trying to put it out.
"I'm going back for her, get them somewhere safe!" Hiccup tells Raya and Benja as he ran back inside.
"Is he insane?" Jack asked.
"For as long as I've known him!" Raya stated as she grabbed his hand and dragged him off.
An Deathgripper noticed Elsa as she was busy on the fire and spat it's acid at her back. But before it could reach her, Hiccup intervened and wrapped himself around Elsa and his dragon skinned armor took most of the liquid.
"Elsa! We got to get out!" Hiccup told Elsa as he grabbed her hand and started to drag her out just as the ground began to shake.
"What?" Elsa whispered in shock as the Druun came crashing through the ground and looking around for people.
Outside, the team were feeling the quakes and saw the Druun escape and start multiplying.
"How is this possible?!" Benji asked before racing to the temple, followed by Raya chasing after him.
"Where you going?" Jack asked as he followed, as well as Rapunzel and Anna chasing after them.
As this was happening, the two of them inside were both began to cough from the smoke as they noticed Grimmel was still there.
"We will meet again, and when we do I will destroy everything you love!" Grimmel promises the two of them as the smoke covered him and the next thing they knew, he was gone.
Elsa and Hiccup looked at where he was standing with a stern look in both of their eyes. Seeing the house was coming down on them, Hiccup grabbed Elsa and pulled her out of the house as she froze the fires as they got through it.
As they both made it out, they were pushed even further by an explosion from the house. They both looked around and saw the Druun consuming everyone and everything and multiplying as the Deathgrippers were scorching everything the Druun didn't turn to stone.
Elsa looked and saw that Hiccup had his arm around her waist to shield her for the fire. She gave Hiccup a small smile in thanks. "Thanks for saving me."
"No problem." Hiccup said to her and quickly helped her up when they noticed everyone was missing. "Where did they go?"
Back with Hans, he was holding the Dragon Gem as it started to turn from a bright light blue to a dark dimmed black color.
"Stop!" Benji cried as he raced in and saw Hans as he turned to face them with a smile on his face.
"Hans?!" Anna cried in shock.
"You know this guy?" Raya asked as she and her father aimed at Hans.
"Oh, Anna and I have a history. Don't we, honey?" Hans asked with a smug smile.
"What did you do to the Dragon Gem?!" Benji asked him.
"Something I learned from a new friend of mine." Hans answered with a shrug as if it they were not in the middle of a crumbling world. "You might've already met him. Pitch Black?"
"You're working for Pitch?!" Elsa asked him.
"Well, it's an means to an end." Hans stated just as Rapunzel swung her hair, causing it to wrap around the Dragon Gem and pulled it out of his grasp and into her hands.
"I got it!" Rapunzel cried as the Druun start to come at them.
Jack quickly shot a blast of ice at the Druun, which actually froze them solid. "I...I didn't expect that."
"They're afraid of water, and ice freezes them?" Raya asked in surprise as they quickly made their way out and left Hans behind.
"What do we do?" Jack asked.
Raya raced over and climbed on the back of Tuk-Tuk and pulled a few others up. "Tuk-Tuk, roll!"
Tuk-Tuk then closed up and rolled off with them all on board as Jack kept the path cleared of Druun.
Surprisingly Hans was happy that they left him as he just stood there while the Druun kept circling him and Gothel suddenly appeared out of the shadows.
"So, how did the reunion go?" Gothel asked.
"I think it went rather well." Hans guesses. "The Dragon Gem is corrupted. Just as asked."
"Perfect. Now there's nothing to stop the Druun." Gothel said happily.
But this fight is not over yet.
(A/N) Yes, there was a reference to Maui in the story, just don't expect him to make an appearance. Or Moana. Don't get your hopes up!
