Hiccup was down on the ground and looked up at the shocking amazing figure that was Astrid. Seems she aged well over the years; better than him it seems.
"Astrid?" Hiccup whispered in shock.
"What?" Astrid asked, missing how he knew her name. "Shocked to see someone small compared to the rest of the village?"
"What? No, I was shocked to see you here, as it seemed everyone was in the training arena." Hiccup explained as he pulled himself back up.
"I graduated dragon training years ago." Astrid stated, looking annoyed at hearing that someone thought she belonged with the others. And then looking a little sad. "Surprised?"
"Nor really." Hiccup sighed but noticed her look. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Just...we lost someone the same week." Astrid sighed, and Hiccup guessed she was referring to him. "He was the best at dragon training, I was the second best. Would you believe he was the slump of the group?"
"Really?" Hiccup asked, acting surprised.
"Yeah...we miss him. Especially Gobber." Astrid gestured to the shop where Hiccup once built Toothless' tail, and Gobber was currently carrying a bunch of weapons towards, dropping a few and crying in anger. "See ya around."
Astrid then walked off just when Elsa walked up and met up with him. "Who was that?"
"Uh...my old crush. When I used to live here." Hiccup answered, getting a new reaction from Elsa, which felt almost like anger.
Elsa has never really felt anger in her life, mostly with fear and hatred for herself, but this time she actually seems to be directing that hatred towards Astrid.
Why would she be so jealous of Hiccup's attention to Astrid? It couldn't be because she likes him, could it? Wait, she didn't say that out loud, did she?
She was then interrupted from her thoughts when Hiccup sighed and looked over to Gobber. "It hurts to see him like this."
"Who's he?" Elsa wondered, breaking herself out of her anger to Astrid, wondering if she should ask Raya or her sister about this feeling.
"My old mentor." Hiccup answered in sorrow. "The only one who treated me like I mattered."
"Want to maybe give him a hand?" Elsa asked, feeling sorry for the only good, decent person here being stuck with this much bad luck.
"The least I could do." Hiccup said as he and Elsa walked over to him.
Gobber was muttering about something when he was reaching to pick up a bent sword when Hiccup picked it up for him.
"Would you like a hand?" Hiccup asked with a friendly smile.
"Sure, if you'd like." Gobber supposed, surprised on the visitors willingness to help. "Help me carry these to the shop. Either of you know how to work in a blacksmith?"
"I was trained by the best in the lands." Hiccup admitted, feeling he's never met anyone like Gobber who could work in a blacksmiths.
"We'll see about that, boy." Gobber promised with a laugh as the two of them picked up the weapons and carried them into the blacksmiths.
Out in the distance, Drago was approaching the shore of Berk with a small army of ships and had a small smile on his face, seeing that things were going according to plan.
Hiccup got quickly to work on the blacksmiths, almost like nothing had changed between the two and it end back to the old times.
The only difference was that Elsa was watching from the sideline, surprised how strong and fast Hiccup was able to work with such a scrawny body.
Don't get her wrong, she noticed he had some muscle to him, but he was more on the scrawny side like Jack was.
"You really know your way around the shop." Gobber complimented Hiccup's skills. "What did you say your name was?"
"Ryder." Hiccup used one of his many fake identities he made for himself over the years.
"Ryder." Gobber repeated. "So, where'd you meet your girl over here?" He asked, looking over to Elsa.
"Oh, no, no, no." Elsa stuttered.
"No, no. She's not. We aren't-no." Hiccup stuttered at hearing that. "She's a friend. We're just friends."
Gobber looked between the two and could easily tell there was something better them. "You sure?"
"Yes!" Hiccup sighed and got back to work. "We met after we were attacked."
"Hm." Gobber shrugged and focused on the work.
Jack then suddenly made himself known, scaring Elsa and Hiccup who didn't even notice them flinch as he turned away.
"Wow. He's like big huggable teddy bear." Jack commented both sarcastically and sentimentally.
"What are you doing here?" Elsa whispered.
"What? Raya and the others went to find Stoick, Anna joined her, and it seems Rapunzel and Sisu are making friends with the locals." Jack listed as he gestured over to one of the other houses where they saw some Vikings were drinking and laughing, their source of laughter being from Rapunzel and Sisu.
Sisu laughed along with them as she was telling a story. "He was walking backwards for a week!"
"That's hilarious!" One for the Vikings cheer.
"Tell us another. Please!" Another cried.
"Ooh, I love this place!" Sisu cheered as she ended up falling out of her chair.
Hiccup couldn't believe how fast she was able to make friends, but supposed it wasn't implausible. "Well, if someone here was gonna make friends of them, it was bound to be those two."
"Yeah, I suppose." Elsa guessed.
Jack then noticed a shadow and saw there was a trail of dust. Quickly looking back, he saw Hiccup and Elsa were busy taking with Gobber and supposed he could check it out to see if it was worth worrying about.
He quickly chased after the trail of dust, wondering what it's doing here, and if maybe Pitch has already arrived. Flying past all of the people, he followed the trail as it made it over the houses and he skipped over them and chased after the dust.
Jack chased it down into the forest where he quickly got ahead of the dust and stopped to take aim and shot it down.
"I got it!" Jack cheered to the woods and leaped over to the dust and saw it was indeed the same dust from the dragon attack back on their first encounter. "Come on! Did nobody see that?!" He asked the forest as he walked over and tapped his staff against the dust. "Look at this thing."
Pitch then emerged from the darkness and was shocked to see him. "Frost?"
Jack jumps at the tone and turned to see Pitch who he immediately shot a blast at, which Pitch dodged and immediately vanished from.
"You know, for a neutral party, you're starting to spend a lot of time with those weirdos. I was hoping to see the dragon boy." Pitch commented as Jack tried to locate him through the forest. "I wonder why that is. Did you happen to meet someone?"
Jack then looked and saw him standing on top of a rock and aimed his staff at him. "Doesn't matter. Because you're never gonna hurt any of them."
Pitch scoffed and was shocked to see this. "You think I came to fight?" He asked and sighed, rolling his eyes. "No, I was here to see how things were going with my army. And was wondering about your little dragon friend."
Jack then became very confused as his eyes widened when he saw the approaching army. "No. Hiccup!" He quickly ran off and flew towards the town, trying to warn the team of the coming attack.
Toothless was in the cove when a familiar chameleon leaped on his nose and he saw that it was Pascal. Seeing her was happy to have some company, Toothless supposed it wasn't the worst thing and just went to rest again.
That's when he suddenly smelled the familiar scent of Pitch and knew the others were most likely in trouble.
Stoick was walking down the streets as Raya quickly made her way over with Anna.
"Chief Stoick. I'm Princess Raya of Heart." Raya greeted as she ran to keep up with him, as it seems he was on the move.
"Right. Gobber informed me on your arrival." Stoick assured her.
"Good. I don't know how much he told you of our situation, but it's viable that we speak with you." Raya said when she was interrupted by Spitelout coming up.
"Stoick, they've arrived." Spitelout informed Stoick who growled and walked down to the docks.
"You seem to have arrived at the wrong time today. I am expecting someone." Stoick said as he kept going downward on the wooden dock. "Drago."
That's when Raya and Anna stopped in shock when they heard that and saw as a scar covered face man marching off the boat, scaring the two girls as he eyed them.
Jack then immediately flew down and was panting from exhaustion. "Girls. We've got a problem."
"Yeah, we do." Raya agreed.
"Pitch's here." "Drago's here." The two of them said at the same time, shocking the other. "Wait, what?" "Wait, say what?"
"Drago?" Jack asked as he looked to the man who was talking to Stoick. "I thought Hiccup said his father feared Drago."
"Apparently he got over it." Anna whispered.
"Drago." Stoick greeted the man.
"Stoick. I'm glad you came to an understanding of dragons." Drago said with a smile. "I'm so sorry what it had to take for you to understand."
"Hiccup's passing was a tragedy I wish not to have repeated." Stoick stated.
That shocked the three of them when they heard it and they noticed that Drago was also eyeing Jack.
"Can he see me?" Jack whispered.
"Well, if he doesn't, why are you whispering?" Anna whispered back.
Raya forced a smile as she looked back to Jack using her side eye. "Go find Hiccup. Warn him. Something tells me he's about to start up trouble."
"I was gonna do that regarding the Pitch thing." Jack agreed as he quickly flew off, and they noticed Drago was watching him leave.
"Well, I would recognize you anywhere." Drago said to the two of them, surprising the girls as they never really met Drago.
"You know these people?" Stoick asked.
"Yes. They've been terrorizing my business." Drago said, making Stoick give them the stern look Hiccup warned them about. "We almost had them last time, but they escaped. How fortunate they came upon your shores."
"And things got worse." Raya said as she could guess what Stoick's next words were.
"Arrest them!" Stoick demanded everyone on the docks.
"And now it's officially worse." Anna said as Raya drew her sword and swung it around, scaring everyone off a little.
Back in the cove, pascal was holding on for dear life as Toothless was frantically trying to find some ground he could grab onto. But he always ended up falling just at the last second.
After a few attempts, he was able to grab onto the ground above and dug his claws into the ground.
Back in town, Hiccup and Elsa were talking with Gobber when they heard the commotion down at the docks.
"What's going on down there?" Elsa wondered.
"Maybe the twins did something stupid." Gobber guessed.
Meanwhile across the way, Sisu was laughing it up while Rapunzel was asleep when Jack came down.
"Sisu. Pitch and Drago are here!" Jack informed her when he stopped and looked over to Rapunzel. "What happened to her?"
"I think she got a taste of one of the drinks." Sisu answered.
Jack scoffed and dropped down next to her and smacked her cheek to wake her up. "Five more minutes."
"Rapunzel. We might need to make a sudden exit." Jack stated and saw the sky began to darken as Pitch towered over the skies. "Uh oh."
Hiccup and Elsa then looked out to see the skies darken and saw trouble.
"Guys!" Jack cried from across the way. "They're here!"
Hiccup suddenly became concerned and knew he had to find Toothless. "I'll be back!" He said to Elsa before beginning to run off when he was immediately smacked in the face by an axe.
"We know who you are." Astrid said while Hiccup tried to see straight. "Chief is ordered you to be arrested."
"Of course he did." Hiccup sighed just when Elsa blasted Astrid and sent her flying.
"Stay away!" Elsa demanded as she made her way over and helped Hiccup on his feet.
Jack saw it was time to help out and leaped over and aimed his staff at Vikings approaching. "What's the plan?"
"Well, I was thinking we could just sneak away, but it seems that's not happening." Hiccup sighed and needed to come up with a plan. "Hey, Sisu? The jig's up."
Sisu saw what he was saying and shrugged as she stood up on the table. "Well, sorry guys. Story time's over."
Then all of a sudden, she transformed into her dragon form and blasted out a giant mist of fog to cover their escape and attacks. Hiccup drew Inferno, scaring some of the people as they were attacked by the blasts of ice from Elsa, and Sisu's tail in the process of Jack trying to get Rapunzel up.
"Come on, Blondie. We need to go." Jack said as he smacked Rapunzel, trying to wake her up. "No time for a nap!"
Down at the docks, Raya was using her sword to smack an axe out of the hands of Spitelout as Anna picked up a nearby sword and did her best to defend herself against them when they noticed Pitch was closing in on them.
"We need to get to Sisu and Toothless and get out of here." Raya informed Anna.
"Yeah, good idea." Anna agreed when Raya swung her sword and embedded it to a higher point of land.
"Grab on." Raya tells her and Anna grabbed onto her back as she then yanked them both up and flew upward onto the point before running to find the others.
Jack ends up fighting against the Vikings to keep Rapunzel safe, which meant he got to slip Snotlout another time before he had to fight the twins which ended with them both headbutting themselves.
Fishlegs wasn't much of a threat as Jack just smacked him in the face and saw that only Pitch and Stoick were left. Hiccup saw he had to face his father and ran at him, raising his sword as he was going in for an attack and blocked the attack coming.
Stoick then went in for another attack when they hear an ear piercing scream as they looked and saw Toothless flying in and sent a plasma blast, sending Stoick flying backwards and shocking everyone when they noticed the dragon that came over and protected Hiccup.
"Night Fury!" Gobber said in shock at what he was seeing.
Hiccup looked and saw he needed to get to higher ground when he also saw Drago was approaching. Looking up, he saw he needed to take Pitch down before anything else went wrong.
"Come on, bud. Let's end this." Hiccup said as he climbed on Toothless and the two took off, allowing the others to continue the fight before Jack even realized they were gone.
The second Jack saw Hiccup going up to take on Pitch, he saw that was going to be a mistake, remembering Pitch wanted Hiccup. "Hiccup! No!" He then quickly flew off, accidentally leaving Rapunzel defenseless in the process.
Pitch looked and smiled when he sawt the Dragon Rider flying right at him. Wasting no time, he pulled back on an invisible bow and revealed a spear of sand and shot it, ending with it separating Hiccup and Toothless, the two sent plummeting.
Jack was shocked and was left in fear on what he saw. "NO!" Jack cried as he flew up and went to save him. But that didn't end as planned when Pitch sent a tidal wave of darkness at him and consumed Jack.
Raya and the others were finally getting back together when they looked and saw Hiccup falling. "Sisu!" She cried to her friend who saw the two plummeting.
"Don't worry, I got them!" Sisu promised as she went over to save them.
"Where's Jack?!" Anna asked as they started to get surrounded.
Just as they asked that, they saw the sky started to glow blue and they looked to see a ball of energy forming around the darkness. Then all of a sudden, Jack let out a gigantic blast of energy that followed with him clapping and sending a gigantic wave of ice at him, destroying all of the sand, and taking Pitch out of the sky. Jack then looked shocked at himself, no idea he had the ability to do that. He then started to feel weak and started to slowly make his way back down.
Sisu landed on the ground where she thought was safe for Hiccup and Toothless to get up when she was suddenly attacked by Stoick coming in and tackling her face to the ground and others coming in and throwing rope around her.
"Hey! Easy with the horn, buddy!" Sisu complained, trying her best to fight back as Hiccup started to wake up.
"No! Get away from her!" Hiccup demanded as he went in for another fight when he saw Gobber holding down Toothless.
"Hey!" Raya cried as she came leaping in and pulled her sword back out, Anna and Elsa coming in, all ready for a fight. "Let them go!"
But it seemed none of them were having it as they want to go out fighting. Jack and Elsa both went in out fight off the ones carrying crossbows and Hiccup saw it was up to him to free the dragons.
"Stoick!" Hiccup cried as Stoick raised his sword to cut off Toothless' head. "No! Don't do it!" He pleaded as he was then tackled by Astrid before he could make it. "No! Dad!"
That.
That was all it took to freeze everyone.
They all looked over to Hiccup as if they were finally seeing the real him. Which they were, in every sense of the word.
Every member of all sides stopped fighting after hearing that this man, this fighter, warrior, dragon rider, was none other than the Chief's son.
"Hiccup?" Stoick asked in shock.
But Elsa saw this as the perfect distraction as she made it over to Sisu and shattered her ropes, allowing her to get free and smack Stoick away from Toothless and they immediately all made their way to the edge where Sisu used her form to pick everyone up, but they noticed someone missing.
"Wait, where's Rapunzel?" Elsa asked as she and Hiccup stopped and noticed she was missing.
"Oh, no." Hiccup realized when he saw the younger group already captured her. "We can't leave her."
"What can we do?" Elsa asked when they saw they were getting surrounded. She then blasted at them, creating a wall of shards of ice at them, giving them a minute. "Go!"
"What? I'm not leaving you." Hiccup promised. "I'm not leaving any of you."
"You can't save us if we're all captured. Come back and save us. Now, ho!" Elsa cried and blasted underneath his feet...foot and sent him sliding down the hill and onto Toothless.
Hiccup grabbed onto Toothless and got on his back when he looked and saw Elsa gave herself up to give Rapunzel someone to give hope to.
Hiccup saw there was nothing to do and looked down to Elsa who gave herself up. "We'll come back, guys." He promised Pascal and Toothless, as well as himself. He wasn't going to leave Elsa or Rapunzel to suffer for long. When they regrouped and had a plan, they'd be back.
But for now, they flew off to where Anna and Raya were currently riding on the back of Sisu where she was in the middle of catching Jack.
"Jack, how did you do that?" Anna asked, regarding how he defeated Pitch.
"I...I didn't know I could." Jack admitted in shock as he looked down at his staff.
Pitch woke up and watched as they retreat and laughed at the sight. "Finally! Someone who knows how to have a little fun!"
