Elsa woke up with a groan, no idea where she currently is. She looked and noticed a small window in what appeared to be a cell. Quickly getting up, she raced over to the window, only to be met with a pull and looked to see she was in chains.
Getting a small bit of Deja vu, Elsa noticed that these chains were made to hold back dragons. That gave her a small sense on where she was as she made it over to the window and saw she was on a ship, headed for somewhere.
"Oh no...Hiccup, hurry." Elsa pleaded, wondering where they're going.
"Elsa?" Rapunzel's voice goes through the ship and she leaned against the wall with her bed.
"Rapunzel? Is that you?" Elsa asked.
In the next cell over, Rapunzel was curled up in a ball, worried on what's about to happen to them. "Yeah. It's me."
"Don't worry, we won't be here long. Hiccup will come for us." Elsa guaranteed.
"I wouldn't get your hopes up." Someone said, but Elsa recognized the voice when the two of them walked over to the bars of their cells and noticed they weren't the only prisoners as Eret, son of Eret, was leaning on the bars on the opposite side of their cells. "They're taking us directly to Drago himself. And let's say I wasn't overestimating him when I warned the two of you."
"Well, if any harm comes to us, he has to answer to our friends." Elsa promised, keeping Rapunzel's Hope up, knowing she is too fragile (Sorta) to be in this sort of situation.
"Yeah, our friends wouldn't leave us behind." Rapunzel agreed with her friend.
Eret chuckled and scoffed at their optimism and rolled his eyes. "I'll believe it when I see it." He then walked away and leaned against the wall.
"Hiccup will come. Right?" Rapunzel asked Elsa, who could hear the worry in her voice.
"Of course, he will. He wouldn't leave us behind." Elsa promised, wondered how the rest of the team are currently doing right now.
Far away in the distance, Hiccup was leading the team away from Berk. He was trying to keep his cool, but he might be one second away from exploding. The team were right alongside him, just trying to keep up as it seems that they wanted to keep their space from him.
The team being a bad term due to the fact that it should include the missing members of Rapunzel and Elsa. But they're not with the team. They've been taken prisoner.
By Drago.
They went to Berk, hoping maybe they could turn the tides of this war and fight Drago, Pitch, and get their own army. But it turns out that Stoick already reached out to Drago after Hiccup's death five years ago, making him want to help Drago and his cause, meaning they had to escape.
But in the process, Rapunzel was captured, and Elsa stayed behind in order to help her as Rapunzel was never in situations like that before.
They've lost two members of their team, and now they have no way of stopping Pitch without getting the kingdoms together. They have the princess of Heart, but lost Corona, Stoick wasn't going to be much help, and they don't know the whereabouts for the other kingdoms.
Seeing nothing in the distance, and feeling hopelessly defeated, Hiccup decided to do the only thing he could think of. Scream.
Hiccup balled his fists, took in a deep breath, and screamed in fury, punching the air as if it had wronged him. His anger driven shouting continued for a good five seconds before finally, he stopped screeching, flopping against Toothless' back breathlessly.
The team all looked concerned and saw being the leader and letting everyone down was starting to take its effect on Hiccup
Toothless cooed in concern, and Hiccup ran his hand over his dragon's scales. "Don't worry, bud, I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. I promise."
"So...I know this is a stupid question, and that I might already know the answer, but...is there a plan now?" Jack asked as he flew over to Hiccup.
"I...I don't know." Hiccup confessed as he stayed on Toothless' back when Pascal climbed on his chest and lied down on him in sadness. Hiccup sighed as he raised a finger and caressed the chameleon. "Don't worry, Pascal, we'll get her back."
"How?" Raya asked. "We can't take on Berk, especially with Pitch now backing them up. The only way to get through and get them back, is to get an army of our own."
"And we saw how that ended the first time." Sisu muttered.
Anna was on the back of Sisu was hoping her sister was going to be okay, and also trying to be okay with her sister being held prisoner until they could come up with a plan to save them. But as she was thinking to herself, and the others were talking, she noticed something rising out of the clouds.
The person rising from the mist was someone wearing a blue mask with odd, horn-like spikes that shot out from the sides of it. It reminded Anna of the ice structure created by the "ice spitting dragon" they heard about from that Erret guy.
"Uh...guys?" Anna got their attention, getting them to look over and were shocked at what they were seeing.
"Ugh, what now?" Hiccup asked as he got back up Toothless jerked to a halt, as did Sisu beside him. The mysterious rider and their dragon sank back into the clouds and was gone.
"Am I the only one creeped out?" Jack asked in shock.
"No sudden moves, guys." Hiccup warned the team.
The team agreed and just waited for something to happened and stayed close to one another, everyone on edge. Then, suddenly, the dragon and its rider shot out from the clouds and arched above the group with grace, the dragon flapping its wings.
They saw it was a full-grown Stormcutter with woody brown scales, cream underbelly, and iridescent blue highlights. His face has two long spines that branch off his nose and to the side with a "smashed" face, much like an owl's.
It circled around the group as they had no idea whether or not to attack the mysterious stranger, unsure if it's a friend or a new threat. The Cloudjumper then came up and stopped just in front of the group.
"Fight or run?" Jack asked Hiccup.
"Hold on, guys." Hiccup called them off from fighting just yet.
But that's when just out of the blue a dragon came and grabbed Hiccup by her arms and hoisted him higher into the sky. Toothless was then taken down and sent plummeting down.
"Hiccup!" "Toothless!" The team members shouted out as they watched the dragon plummet and Hiccup being carried off.
But before Sisu could follow after, the dragon was being circled by dragons as well. Four of them to be exact. Two of them grabbed onto Sisu and Jack saw he had an advantage to help, but there was not much he could do against these dragons and also noticed some other dragons saving Toothless. So, it seemed the only thing he could really help with is saving Hiccup.
Flying off, he went to save, or at least stick around, with Hiccup in order to keep him safe.
"Hey! You left my dragon back there!" Hiccup cried out to them, not noticing Jack flying up to him. "He can't fly on his own, he'll drown!"
"Hey, it's okay. They got him." Jack promised him.
"Jack." Hiccup sighed when he saw his friend. "Where are the others?"
"Taken, hopefully to wherever we are being taken to." Jack said and sighed.
"Great." Hiccup sighed.
The dragons continued flying, and Hiccup kept his mouth shut, mentally planning his next moves for him and Jack. Then, all at once, they came to another lion's mane-like structure of spiked, jagged ice, much like the first one Hiccup and Astrid had come across. Hiccup and Jack held their breath, and the dragons swooped towards it.
They flew over a thick piece of ice, and under another one. Just like that, they were inside a cave, lit by nothing.
"What's our next move?" Jack asked Hiccup as he raised his staff, ready to fight the dragons.
"Let me think." Hiccup whispered as a plan came to mind.
The dragons started to growl and Hiccup pulled out Inferno. He activated it and immediately started swinging it in front of one of the dragons. The rider watched in the shadows as the dragons followed the glow of the sword, calming down.
"Nice." Jack commented and backed off, letting Hiccup do his thing.
The flames of the sword began to die down, so he switched it off and took a capsule from his ankle hostler that he put inside the weapon. He spun low to the ground, releasing a green gas that he ignited to make the dragons back off. He then stood up and cautiously approached the dragon with his palm up to do their signature move. But before he could touch it, the rider jumped inside the circle.
The mysterious Dragon Rider stepped forward again, a staff in hand. Hiccup drew Inferno and swished it through the air whilst Jack raised his staff when he noticed this figure also took notice of him.
"Who are you?" Jack demanded in a snarl.
"Are you working for Pitch Black?" Hiccup asked them as the figure continued.
They then waited for a response and got nothing.
"Can you even understand us?" Jack asked.
The mystery person swung their staff and hit the ground, and instantly, dragons came flying in and dropped Toothless in front of them.
"Toothless!" Hiccup cried in joy as he ran over and hugged his friend. "You had me worried there."
The figure then shook their staff and the dragons around them opened their mouths, a slow, burning fire kindled in their throats.
"Where are the rest of our friends?" Jack asked as he kept his staff raised and Toothless came over to help defend Hiccup.
Toothless stood behind Hiccup protectively, the Night Fury wrapping his tail around Hiccup's legs to keep him close.
"Do you even understand anything we're saying?" Hiccup wondered.
The rider moved towards them slowly, a hand outstretched. Hiccup shoved Jack behind him with his free hand, his other hand holding onto Inferno tightly. "Stay behind me for now." Jack decided not to argue and stayed as a hidden surprise for their guest.
Toothless growled at the rider as they put forth a hand, and then, almost instantly, Toothless flopped over on his back, his tongue lolling out of his mouth.
"Uh..." Jack had no idea what to say as he's seen Toothless in battle and was shocked at how easily this person defeated him.
Then, the rider put a hand towards Hiccup. Hiccup took a step backwards, as did Jack, doing what was told of him. All at once, the masked rider withdrew their hand as if something had burned it and stepped back.
"Hiccup?" A voice whispered. It was muffled from behind the mask, but there was no mistaking what she murmured. Hiccup stiffened all over again, as did Jack.
There was no reason, and definitely no way that this person was able to know Hiccup's name as nobody said it during their encounter, and Jack never mentioned him by name.
The woman took off her mask. Her eyes were a shade of green, her hair long and auburn with a few tiny streaks of grey in it. Not a young woman, maybe in her forties, sounded more accurate.
"C-Could it be?" The woman asked in shock. "After all these years...how is this possible?"
Hiccup looked tongue tied as he looked to Jack who only offered a confused shrug and placed his staff down, guessing she wasn't a threat to them
"Ah...should I…" Hiccup began, trying to find his voice. "Should I know you?"
The woman's shoulders slumped. "No," she said quietly, shaking her head. "You were only a baby."
That was getting both Jack and Hiccup's attention, as they had no idea what her next words would be.
"But a mother never forgets." She stated, shocking both of them to the core. Hiccup almost had a panic attack when his mother raised her hand and shushed him. "Come." She said with a smile and raced through the caves. "Your friends await." She said when she turned back to them and ran off, quickly followed by Hiccup.
Toothless then started to wake back up and Jack had a few words for the creature.
"A good lot of help you were." Jack mocked the creature before he was smacked by his tail. "Okay, I deserved that."
Toothless then followed Hiccup and Jack quickly afterwards to see if they could get some more answers to what they just saw.
