Guest - ...wait, what? What...what does that even mean? Anna's not exactly a prisoner. She freely chose to join this team and help the others protect people.
When nightfall finally hit, as she promised, Valka took the team to Drago's hideout to rescue Elsa and Rapunzel. Hiccup flew in on Toothless as Valka flew in on Cloudjumper, all of them separated between the two dragons. Coming in close to the campsite, the team leaped off the dragons, Sisu being disguised to keep herself hidden.
They all split up to do their job. Jack being their lookout, nobody hopefully won't be able to see him, and Hiccup was led by Valka to find the cells where Elsa and Rapunzel should be held.
Raya and Anna were on patrol, keeping the Hunters back, and Sisu was their quick getaway if something goes wrong.
"All clear." Jack whispered, just in case people could see him.
Hiccup nodded and Valka led him down the halls. One of the acid spitting dragons spotted them hiding, but Raya created a diversion by tossing a rock.
Hiccup and Valka walked up a stairway that leads to the cells and activated Inferno to see better.
Jack was keeping his eye out for Pitch, Drago, Grimmel, or Hans. He looked around and was shocked at all of the ships and cages.
"Oh, man..." Jack couldn't believe this is something that they have to stop on their own. "How can we stop this?"
He then looked away and was keeping an eye out for anything when the voice came back. "Jack!"
Jack quickly looked around and wondered where that came from. "I know that voice." He then quickly flew off, looking around the ships, feeling it's somewhere nearby. He landed on one of the sparrow nests and looked around.
"Jack?"
Jack quickly followed the voice, not realizing he's drifting farther and further away from the others. He flew off into the woods nearby and found an old broken down bed.
"That's not inconspicuous." Jack commented as he walked over and broke a few of the bars.
"Jack?"
"Who are you?" Jack asked as he leaped down into the hole.
Hiccup and Valka reached the last of the cells and Hiccup walked over to them.
"Elsa? Rapunzel?" Hiccup cried in a hushed tone to not draw attention. Even though the fire sword would already do it.
"Hiccup?" Elsa called as she approached the cell window the best she could with the chains.
"Hey, miss me?" Hiccup asked as he raised his mask.
"Took you long enough." Elsa said with a smug smile.
"Sorry. Catching up with mom." Hiccup said as he gestured to Valka who used her staff to crush the door.
Elsa covered her eyes using her arms and got her first look at Valka as she raised her mask.
"That's your mother?" Elsa asked, remembering the story of how she was killed by dragons.
"Well, now you know where I get my dramatic flare." Hiccup shrugged as Valka started picking her locks. "Where's Rapunzel?"
"Over here." Rapunzel called as Anna and Raya met up and saw her cell.
"I got it." Sisu said as she transformed and used her horn to crush the door. She then transformed back to normal as they heard someone else and saw Eret. "Hey, isn't that the Dragon Trapper?"
"Right." Raya remebered as she approached him. "Eret, son of...Michel, was it?"
"Oh, ha-ha." Eret said when he saw something. "Duck!"
Raya decided to do as he asked when another Hunter came and Eret grabbed him and rammed his head against the door.
Raya got up and looked down at the unconscious Hunter. "Huh. Thanks."
That's when there was a lever pulled and a giant net came over the area they were in. Hiccup freaked and ran to see what happened and didn't see Jack anywhere.
"Jack!" Hiccup cried out, looking around.
"Where's your friend when you need him, hmm, Dragon Rider?" Grimmel asked as he approached the cage with his Deathgrippers. "First rule of the hunt: separate the prey from the rest of its pack. You just removed yourselves from the equation."
"Why are you doing this?" Hiccup asked, not seeing what he has to gain from this.
Pitch wants to be freed from his prison, Drago wants to control all the dragons, Hans wants vengeance, but he never explained what he's doing here.
"Really?" Grimmel asked in surprise. "I didn't think you cared. Well, unlike you, and I was a boy and found a Night Fury, I killed it where it slept." He then had a giant smile on his face as Hiccup was really just buying time for Valka to get Elsa free so they could escape. "That simple act of courage made me a hero in my village. So I decided to kill every last one, bringing teal peace to the people of this world."
Hiccup then looked and saw Elsa was free from her shackles and Raya also released Eret. "But you have dragons of your own."
Grimmel laughed and gestured told the Deathgrippers. "These? They're dragon killers, drugged into obedience with their own venom. Not even your precious alpha can control them. They serve me and only me." He then backed away and Hiccup noticed a few Deathgrippers were in the cage with them. "Allow me to demonstrate." He then whistled, signaling them all to attack.
"Take cover!" Hiccup cried then leaped out of the way of acid being spat down upon them all.
"Split up!" Raya said as they all ran in different directions and made their way upward.
Once Jack reached the bottom of the hole, he looked around and saw what looked to be a dozens of cages, some filled with dragons fighting the infection Pitch's been spreading to the others.
Looking down, Jack saw there were a few dozen containers, almost identical to the one Madame Web gave him.
"What's this?" Jack asked as he leaped down and looked at a few, seeing they were containers with faces for certain people. Some recognizable, others never before seen.
"What are these?" Jack wondered.
"Looking for something?" Pitch asked, causing Jack to jump and blast frost at the shadow of the man.
Pitch then laughed as Jack ran through his labyrinth of twists and turns to locate him. But it was like everywhere he turned, he could never find the right way up as he keeps twisting and turning.
"Don't be afraid, Jack. I'm not gonna hurt you." Pitch promised as Jack kept following his shadow until he finally found the man walking on a broken bridge.
"Afraid?" Jack asked as he leaped over and landed on the bridge as he kept his staff raised to shoot Pitch. "I'm not afraid of you."
"Maybe not." Pitch agreed as he didn't even flinch at the staff as Jack slowly approached him from behind. "But you are afraid of something."
"You think so, Huh?" Jack asked as he kept his eyes on Pitch.
"I know so!" Pitch was happy to say as he finally at least turned his head to face Jack. "It's the one thing I always know. People's greatest fears." He then turned his whole body to face Jack with a evil grin on his face. "Yours is that no one will ever believe in you."
Pitch then started to tower and is shadow took over Jack, causing him to fall inside.
Hiccup was making his way up and almost fell off the edge of the stairway as it melted off. He was saved at the last minute by Elsa who grabbed his hand and pulled him up and shot a blast of ice at the dragon.
Valka made it to the roof of the cage and swung her staff outside of it to call Toothless and Cloudjumper. "Up here!"
The others quickly raced up as Cloudjumper started to lift the cage best he could and Toothless kept the dragons back using plasma blasts.
Elsa was able to make it, but Hiccup was separated due to more acid. Elsa stopped and looked back to Hiccup in worry.
"Go! I'll find another way." Hiccup promised as Elsa took his word for it and ran up to the others as they all got on Sisu.
Hiccup ran across the board and saw he had only one chance. Running as fast as he could, he leaped with the Deathgrippers came down and was stopped by Toothless and Valka used Cloudjumper's wing to catch him.
"Let's go." Valka said as they were dragged out with Cloudjumper and Hiccup landed on Toothless and they flew off.
"Whoo!" Anna cheered. "I can't believe that worked!"
"Let's get out of here, guys" Hiccup said as they flew to avoid the dragon traps.
"What happened to Jack?" Rapunzel asked.
"No idea." Raya said as they saw he was at least not trapped, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
Drago watched them as they escaped and looked down to Pitch's Terrible Terror he corrupted. "Follow them."
The Terror then flew off and Drago saw that they now had a way of finding their little Sanctuary.
Jack rolled around and hit a few invisible walls until he found some light and looked around to find him. He quickly got back up and grabbed his staff again as he looked around for Pitch.
"And worst of all, you're afraid you'll never find out why." Pitch said as Jack ran down a doorway, only to hit a brick wall when the lights went out.
Once the lights came back on, he looked around and couldn't find Pitch anywhere.
"Why you? Why were you chosen to be like this?" Pitch said as he approached Jack as he was back against the wall. "Well, fear not. For the answers to that is right here." He then handed out a small container with his face on it.
"Where did you get that?" Jack asked in a whisper.
"Madame Web has secrets throughout the multiverse. You just need to know where to look." Pitch explained as he waved the container at Jack. "Do you want them? Your memories?"
Jack looked down and was hesitant to reach out and stopped himself before he could take it. Pitch then vanished and Jack flew after him.
"Everything you want to know in this little box." Pitch said as he was a shadow on the wall, Jack chasing it through the cave. "Why did you end up like this? Unseen. Unable to reach out to anyone. You want the answers so badly."
Jack then came across inside of a dead end where Pitch made dozens of shadows and circled Jack. "You want to grab them and fly off with them. But you're afraid, of what the other Guardians will think. You're afraid of disappointing them. Well, let me ease your mind of one thing. They'll never accept you."
"Stop it!" Jack cried as he backed away and landed next to a small globe in the center of the cave.
"After all, you're not one of them." Pitch said as he emerged from the shadows.
"You don't know what I am!" Jack declared as he aimed his staff again.
"Of course I do. You're Jack Frost." Pitch said casually, as if he knew this for a matter of fact. "You make a mess wherever you go. Why, you're doing it right now." He then passed the memories to Jack and he caught them.
But that's when Jack registered what he said and became afraid. "What did you do?"
"More to the point, Jack, what did you do?" Pitch asked as he walked back into the shadows, his grin and eyes being the last thing to remain before Jack charged in to strike him.
But that ended with Jack in a tunnel and as he ran back, there was a barricade. He then started to worry for his friends and ran.
