Everyone made their way back to the Sanctuary where they were relieved to finally be free of Drago and have everyone back together. Minus Jack.
Eret dropped down off Sisu's back and was explained how she was different from the other dragons he's hunted, and if he ticked her off, she's a water dragon who can dive extremely deep.
Eret sighed in relief, happy to be free and not going to be fed to one of Drago's dragons or dropped in the freezing ocean. Looking over to his rescuer, that being Raya, he kneeled in respect, earning a surprised look from her and Sisu as she turned to her human form.
"Thank you," Eret told Raya as he looked down at the grass. "I am forever in your debt, Raya, Princess of Heart. I give you my word I'll help you in your fight and be there to help along the way."
Raya was surprised by this vow, as was Sisu, but she saw it as a bonus as this wasn't what they were expecting for helping him. "Sweet. Our own Dragon Hunter who knows Drago's plan."
"Yeah. Didn't see that coming." Raya admitted as she was getting a little annoyed how Eret was kneeling. "You don't...you can stop kneeling now."
"Yes. Of course." Eret said as he got back up and gave her a salute by punching himself on his chest. "My league."
Hiccup watched everything between them as he was making sure Toothless wasn't injured in the fight and saw he was okay.
"So, these are your friends." Valka said as she looked to Elsa and Rapunzel. "You seemed extremely worried about Elsa during all of that. And she seemed worried about you." She then eyed her son with a smile. "Well?"
"What? Nothing's going on." Hiccup said as he fixed his armor. "We're just friends." He then walked over to everyone else and hugged Rapunzel, who immediately hugged him back. "Glad you're both okay."
"You should've seen them, Hiccup." Rapunzel shuttered at the reminder of Drago and Pitch. "He's getting more powerful. Maybe more powerful than we can defeat."
"Hey, don't say things like that." Hiccup comforted her, Rapunzel becoming sorta like the group's little sister. "We'll stop him. We're together now, right?"
Rapunzel smiled but then remembered their missing friend and broke the hug. "Wait...where's Jack?"
Hiccup then looked around and noticed he was still missing. "Strange. He didn't get captured; we know that."
"Where could he be?" Raya wonders.
"Maybe he got lost on the way in." Elsa supposed, believing Jack wouldn't just abandon them.
"Well, when we see him again, we'll ask what happened." Hiccup said, giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Elsa then looked over to Valka who seemed to be giving a specific smile to her. "So...your mother?"
"Right." Hiccup realized they weren't formally introduced. "Rapunzel, Elsa, this is Valka, my mother."
"But..." Elsa waited for him to continue on the whole 'she's alive' statement.
"Right. It turns out she didn't die when she was kidnapped by dragons and has been rescuing them." Hiccup said with a smile, happy he now understood where he got that trait from.
"So, that's where you get your love for dragons," Rapunzel said with a smile. "It's great to see you have one family member left."
Hiccup felt a little hurt at the reminder but knew Rapunzel meant no harm at the remark. Seems Valka noticed this and decided to take the heat off.
"Well, what do you say we get something to eat and some proper rest?" Valka asked them.
The Terrible Terror flew in and was covered in Pitch's dust followed the team back to the Sanctuary and memorized the entire path as he flew back to Pitch who held his hand out for the Terror to land on back in the artic, they already started to head out and make their way towards the direction they headed towards.
The Terrible Terror then screeched at Pitch, something he was able to translate as a location. "Good. Now we end their last hope."
Back in their base, Jack was running through the tunnel that seemed to have gone on forever until he finally reached the end. Once at the end of the tunnel, he was met with a closed and locked board. After he found it locked, he used his staff to blast it open and came out only to see that everyone was gone.
"No. I have to warn them." Jack cried as he quickly flew off to catch up and warn his friends about the upcoming invasion.
Meanwhile, with the others, they were all sitting around the area where Valka has been living all of this time. It was a small area with a makeshift bed and a few plates and utensils she picked up on her many travels.
"It's so nice to have met you, Ms. Haddock," Elsa said as she was helping her clear up the mess and put the dishes in her makeshift sink. "And I can't thank you enough for coming back for us."
"Anything for a friend of my son's." Valka was happy to say but then got that motherly smile as she eyed Elsa. "And perhaps something more?"
"I'm sorry?" Elsa wonders what she was saying.
"Oh, come now, dear." Valka scoffed as she knew what she was hiding her feelings. "I saw how you two were worried for one another back there. No matter what was happening, the two of you were checking on one another."
"Well, yeah, we've made ourselves responsible for this group, it makes sense." Elsa tried to deny her feelings.
"You shouldn't try and hide your feelings," Valka warns Elsa. "It eats you up inside, and it could hurt you in the end. Trust me. I almost didn't admit how I felt for a certain someone."
Elsa looked back as Valka made her way out to check on the others and thought of what she said and figured she was talking about Stoick. "If you don't mind me asking..." She called, stopping Valka before she got too far away. "What did you see in Hiccup's father?"
"He was a different person when we met." Valka could see that their run-in with Stoick left a lot of confusion to be addressed. "He was a strong, protective man. But...he chanced as his thirst to kill all dragons emerged, and my want to try and find a better solution to stop the violence didn't seem to help." She then sighed and looked down at Hiccup, who was introducing Rapunzel to the Alpha. "I thought he would become like his father, and I should stay away so he would be raised right." She then looked disappointed in herself as she realized it was a bad decision. "If I had known...he took after me..."
Elsa felt sorry that she was angry at herself but knew there was something she mustn't know about. "Actually...Hiccup did tell us the only reason that he befriended Toothless was that he was trying to be like his father." She then walked over and looked down to Hiccup, who saw the two staring at him and waved up at them. "I think he was meant to be raised by his father, so he learned he had more in common with you. And you've finally found each other again, didn't you?"
Valka finally smiled at her words and turned to look to Elsa, but that made her realize she's been paying closer attention to Hiccup than she previously thought. Adding that on top of everything that Raya, Anna, pretty sure even Sisu and Rapunzel kept saying...maybe she has just been avoiding her feelings to Hiccup.
But things seemed to immediately quiet down when they looked around and noticed all the dragons were flying away as if they were escaping something.
"What's happening?" Raya asked.
Outside the Sanctuary, Drago and his entire army have made it and already started their attack on the fortress. Valka was the first to make it outside as when she did, she saw Drago brought his entire army with him as well as Pitch, Grimmel, and Hans. Luckily due to the snow and water, the Druun couldn't join the fight so there was at least that upside.
Valka looked shocked and became furious in seconds and was ready to defend her home when the others joined her.
"Oh, no." Hiccup said in shock. "They followed us."
"No time to worry about that, son," Valka said, not blaming her son as there was no way to see they were being followed. "Right now, we need to protect the dragons."
"Let's do it." Raya agreed as everyone went into battle.
Sisu quickly changed and allowed Raya on her back as she flew off with Anna and Eret. Elsa quickly used her powers to start sliding down to reach the ground. Rapunzel swung her hair over the ice and used it to swing herself downward and kicked a few Hunters along the way.
Drago watched them coming and saw he was successful at drawing them out. But that was only part of the plan. "Whatever comes, keep hitting the mountain!" He demanded his men. "We must draw the alpha out!"
Several hundred dragons came swarming in to defend their home and were taken down by Grimmel and Drago's dragons.
"Ready the traps!" Drago demanded, allowing the soldiers to open the traps that enclose and reap the dragons inside.
Several dragons were getting stuck inside when they were stopped by Elsa who started to freeze them and Raya used her sword to take out the controls.
"Hi, boys!" Raya greeted as she leaped and landed onto one of the Hunters and punched another.
"So..." Grimmel said, getting Raya to turn and face him with her sword raised and he swung his around. "This is the Princess of Heart."
"Great," Raya said as she raised her sword. "I've been wanting to do this since that trap."
Grimmel and Raya raced at each other, both of them having a raised sword, and went in for a strike.
Drago then noticed Hiccup on his Night Fury and smiled at what he was seeing. "Dragon Master."
Hiccup came flying in on Toothless where he blasted a trap down with a smile. "Yeah, baby!"
As he was doing this, Valka showed herself with the Alpha Bewilderbeast coming in and was ready to fight.
"The Alpha," Drago said with a smile. "Now we have a fight!"
The Alpha left the nest and started to blast the Hunters with its breath, freezing everyone and thing in sight.
Valka was leading her dragons into battle whilst the others were doing their best to hold them back. Rapunzel smacked every approaching Hunter with her frying pan or hair, those being the two dangerous weapons in her hand.
Anna just had to pick up a sword and hope the minimal training she had at Raya back at the campfire will be enough to help her fight back.
Eret was working alongside them as Sisu was blasting them with mist to give them cover. Elsa however had a specific mission in mind. With her powers, she knew how to end this battle. If she could get to Pitch, use her powers on him, she could end this fight once and for all. This plan was first going to end with her and Jack, but it seems he's still missing.
"The Ice Queen returns." Pitch laughed as he revealed himself from the shadows with a giant grin. "Do you think you can stop me?"
"I plan on it!" Elsa cried as she shot a powerful blast of mist at him, which shocked Pitch when he saw it hurt the mist he used to shield himself. Elsa smiled as she saw she had him scared and blasted him again.
During that time down the battlefield, Valka was suddenly shot down and crash-landed nearby Drago. "I've waited a long time for this!"
Valka ran in and swung her staff, just for him to easily block it. "You cannot take our dragons!" She then kicked him, causing Drago to take a few steps back. "They are controlled by the alpha!"
"Then it's a good thing I brought a challenger," Drago said as he raised his staff and swung its round while letting out a yell.
The ships started to be pushed aside as a Bewilderbeast, this time all darkened and covered in chains came out of the ocean.
Hiccup raised his mask in shock at what he was currently seeing. "Another one?!"
"There's another one of them?" Raya asked as she dodged one of Grimmel's attacks and shot out her sword to get so,e distance between them.
"Come on! Takedown the Alpha!" Drago demanded his Bewilderbeast.
Whilst she was distracted, Valka went in for her attack, getting only one got hit before she was backhanded. She flew and slid on the ice as Drago removed her mask and went in for a final strike.
Before he could, however, Jack came flying in and blasted Drago back with a beam of ice. Drago was however able to take the attack due to Pitch's protection he offered them all.
Jack came sliding down and panted in exhaustion due to how fast he tried to get to them and was exhausted from the flight.
"Jack!" Hiccup was happy to see he finally made it.
"What took him so long?!" Anna asked as she swung and smacked another one of the Hunters.
"Question later, how about we survive the fight?" Raya asked as she saw Hans walk up to her. "So, you're supposed to be-"
"Grimmel already did that." Raya stopped him, seeing she had already gone through this once. "Let's get to the part where we do it."
"Do what?" Hans asked when Sisu came down with her tail raised and smacked Hans, causing him to fall and smack his head against the ice.
"That," Sisu was proud to say whilst Raya noticed Grimmel vanished, but the Hunters were still around. "Need some help?"
"No, go help the others," Raya said, knowing she could take the Hunters on her own.
Valka then got up and freed Cloudjumper and went to stop the Bewilderbeast's from fighting.
"You," Drago said as he snarled at Jack. "You think you can stop me?"
"Let's find out," Jack said as he went in for an attack.
Across the mountain, Valka flew in between the two giant Class 10 dragons to try and stop them, but it only ended with her avoiding the tusks of Drago's Bewilderbeast.
The Bewilderbeast's continued to fight, ramming heads like lions until Drago's got his tusks under the neck of Valka's Bewilderbeast. Once then he used it to force the dragon into the mountain, giving it a clear view of his belly. Then the Bewilderbeast rammed its tusks into its stomach.
"No!" Valka cried.
Elsa gasped in shock as Anna, Jack, and everyone else stopped as they watched all of the dragons submit to the Alpha.
"We've won," Drago said as he gestured to Valka. "Now...finish her!"
Jack looked and saw Valka getting taken down by try Bewilderbeast. Hiccup flew over and saw the only one he could possibly reason with would be Drago. If he could stop him, maybe he could get him on their side.
Elsa was seeing Hiccup head towards Drago and saw she needed to keep Pitch busy so that he could plead his case.
"Jack! Go help her!" Hiccup asked his friend to save his mother.
"On it!" Jack promised as he flew up and went to save her.
Whilst he did that, Hiccup flew down and landed beside Drago. "Stop!" He pleaded as he removed his mask and dismounted Toothless.
Getting his first look at Hiccup, Drago couldn't believe what he was seeing and laughed that this was the one Pitch said was causing trouble and could be the one to stop him. "This...this is the great Dragon Master?"
"All of this loss..." Hiccup gestured all around him as Elsa and Pitch continued to fight behind him. "And for what? To become unstoppable. To rule the world?" Drago already had enough and rolled his eyes as he walked around Hiccup. "Dragons, they-they are kind, amazing creatures that can bring people together."
Then Drago chuckled as he placed his staff down in the snow and removed what was revealed to be a fake left arm, explaining why he never used it. "Or tear them apart." He then placed his arm back on and latched it to his shoulder. "You see, I know what it is to live in fear, to see my village burned, my family taken. But even as a boy...left with nothing, I vowed to rise above the fear of dragons..." he then looked at the dragons the new Alpha had already controlled, "and liberate the people of this world."
"Then why a dragon army?" Hiccup asked him.
"Well, you need dragons to conquer other dragons," Drago said.
"Or maybe you need dragons to conquer people." Hiccup replied, that seeming like the more reasonable take. "To control those who follow and to get rid of those who won't."
Drago laughed and picked his staff up. "Clever boy."
"The world wants peace." Hiccup said, trying to get him to see his point. "Let me show you."
"No." Drago snarled at him. "Let m-"
Before he could finish that thought, Raya interrupted as she wrapped the staff up with her sword and ripped it from his hands.
Hiccup sighed and wished he could stop this without violence. "You can't see it because you don't want to." He then looked to Toothless who was immediately shot with a dart, shocking Raya and Hiccup.
"Toothless!" Hiccup cried when he was smacked by Drago.
Grimmel then shot Sisu with the same dart before she could even think of attacking.
"No!" Raya cried as Sisu fell unconscious.
Grimmel then chained Toothless up and flew off with his Death Grippers rising them up.
Drago was a distraction.
Grimmel was using his talk as a way to set up his own trap for Toothless after he escaped from Raya. Hans was there as backup if Grimmel couldn't defeat Raya and he needed a way out.
"And now our little game must come to an end," Grimmel said as he flew up higher.
Hiccup watched as Drago smiled and ready to go back in for another attack
left the team separated around the Sanctuary and watched as they lost. Toothless looked down to Hiccup and wanted to be back with his friend.
"Oh...Don't feel too badly," Grimmel tells Hiccup after seeing his look of sadness and disappointment. "You tried your best. But you are nothing without your dragon!"
Hiccup growled in anger as he watched Toothless being taken away and started to tear up before looking to Drago. Drawing his sword, he let out a giant battle cry and raced at him. That's when Drago started to use his staff to hold him back until the last part of the plan was put into action.
Wanting to help out, Jack flew at Pitch, only to be shot at by a mountain of his dust. Anna raced at Drago whilst Rapunzel came running at Pitch.
"Come on." Pitch said with a grin as he looked as Elsa sent several icicles flying at him.
That was it.
The moment they've been waiting for.
Pitch easily dodged them, grabbing onto Rapunzel and vanishing, along with Drago and Hans.
"No!" Jack cried as he saw them take Rapunzel and escaped. He leaped up and ran to where they were. "No, no, no! They got away!"
"What happened?" Anna asked, unclear how this all happened.
"We lost!" Raya cried in anger as she looked to Jack and raised her sword. "You!" Jack turned to see she was indeed talking to him, confusing what he did wrong. "Where were you?!"
"I..." Jack tried to explain it in a way they'd understand. "I..."
That's when Elsa noticed his memory box in his pocket. "Where did you get that?"
Jack looked down and shoved it deeper in his pocket. "I...was...it's..."
"Jack..." Sisu was starting to get worried. "What have you done?"
"You were with Pitch? When your friends needed you?" Eret asked.
"No, listen." Jack tried to explain himself but realized there wasn't anything he could say to explain what he's done. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen."
"You didn't mean for it to happen?!" Raya asked as she walked over and pushed Jack against the wall of the fallen sanctuary. "We lost! We shouldn't have trusted you!"
"Raya! Let him go!" Anna cried as she tried to separate them.
"Guys?" Hiccup got their attention and they noticed he was clutching his side. "Something...something..." he then removed his hand and they noticed there was an icicle impaled into his hip.
Elsa gasped and backed away in shock at what she had done. One of the icicles that were meant for Pitch missed and seemed to have hit him instead.
Raya and Anna ran over to help him as he lost feeling in his legs and Hiccup laid down in the snow. Eret ran over and started to help keep the Dragon Rider alive.
Jack ran and kneeled down next to his only friend, someone he was staring to consider a brother. "Hey, you're gonna be okay."
Hiccup shuttered and shivered due to the cold and knew his friend was just trying to help. "Yeah."
"Just stay awake." Jack asked him.
"I trusted...Jack..." Hiccup tried to say, but what he did say hunted Jack when he heard those words. Hiccup put his faith in Jack and this is what happened.
Valka raced over and kneeled down to her son, not ready to let him go and tried to help with the wound.
"Elsa, do you.." Anna was saying when she looked around and noticed Elsa was missing. "Elsa?" She then got up and looked around to see that there was no sign of her sister anywhere. "Elsa?!"
Jack started to back away and slowly flew off, seeing he's done enough damage. Pitch was right. All he does is destroy everything, making a mess wherever he goes.
"We need to get him to Arendelle." Anna said as she looked to the unconscious Sisu. "Raya?"
Raya nodded as she raced over to try and wake her dragon. Hiccup was unconscious, but at least he was alive.
They lost the Alpha.
They lost the Sanctuary.
They lost Rapunzel.
They lost Toothless.
They lost Elsa.
They lost Jack.
They're loosing Hiccup.
They lost the war.
