Despite the sudden increase of wind that was blocking their view, Hiccup and Jack made it up the mountain while the others went to hide in Corona. Once they made it there, they saw the ice castle from their story.
After they made it inside, they started to look around to find Elsa and bring her back. Things were a little harder to see due to it being dark outside, and the entire castle didn't have a single light to it.
"Elsa?" Hiccup whispered and activated Inferno to see. "Elsa, you here?"
"Where could she be?" Jack questioned as he looked around.
"It's a big castle. We should split up." Hiccup said as he lifted his mask. "I'll check the upstairs; you keep looking down here."
"Okay," Jack said and walked off down the halls below the stairs.
Hiccup began to make his way upstairs when he made it halfway, he spotted someone hiding behind the ice. "Elsa?"
The figure then walked out of the hall and onto the stairway where Hiccup saw it was indeed Elsa. She was looking down the stairs towards Hiccup where he could see her eyes, but the rest of her has hidden away behind the blurriness caused by the ice.
"Oh, thank Thor." Hiccup sighed in relief before turning down the stairs. "Jack, I found her." He called then turned back and noticed Elsa walking further up the stairs. "Wait, Elsa!" He then began to quickly follow her as Jack tried to find him. "Where are you going?"
Jack ran back to the stairs and just missed Hiccup as he looked around but saw no sign of him. "Hey, Hiccy? Where'd you go?"
"Looking for something?" Someone asked, causing Jack to grow angry as he turned and saw Pitch was standing there.
"Pitch!" Jack cried and raised his staff and was ready to strike.
"Ah-ah-ah. I wouldn't do that, Jack." Pitch warned him when suddenly a dozen dusts-covered dragons appear and surrounded him.
Jack smiled and knew this wasn't gonna be a problem anymore. Closing his hands, he clapped them with his staff, sending a shockwave that froze the dust off and even freed the dragons.
"What?!" Pitch asked.
"A new trick I learned from Berk," Jack stated as he went back to aiming at Pitch. "Now get the heck out of here. I'm not powerful enough to kill you alone, but I'm still powerful against you."
"Oh, but aren't you forgetting someone, Jack?" Pitch asked and Jack suddenly felt fear down his spine. "What goes together better than cold and dark?"
"Elsa..." Jack whispered before running to the stairway. "Hiccup!" He then quickly raced up the stairway to find his friend.
Pitch smiled and knew his plan was going accordingly.
Hiccup made it into the open room and found Elsa looking away from him. "Elsa?"
Elsa then turned and Hiccup saw her smile and he gave her a friendly smile in return when he suddenly saw her spin around. As soon as she did, he noticed that she now wore a completely different outfit than the ice dress she once wore.
As this one now looked like a gown with a gigantic collar over her neck, and her hair has gone from its white as snow into a complete dark look, and even her ice blue eyes have become darker.
Hiccup had no idea what to say or think about what he was seeing. "Elsa, what happened?"
"Hiccup!" Jack cried as he flew inside and landed right next to him and aimed at Elsa. "It's not Elsa. Pitch corrupted her!"
"Evening, gentlemen." Elsa greeted them. Her sweet soothing voice altered into a now gruff and annoyed voice. "What are you doing on my mountain?"
Hiccup then became afraid and drew out Inferno, praying he doesn't have to use it. "We came for you, Elsa."
"Oh, what a coincidence," Elsa said as she giggled to herself. "I was coming to find you! Guess you saved me the trouble."
Elsa then blasted at him with a mist of ice, which was immediately blocked by Jack who leaped ahead and shielded them from the blast of mist with his own. Once the two collided, it sends a gigantic mist of energy across the room.
As the snow started to swirl, Hiccup saw a figure and reached out and grabbed Elsa. As soon as he did, he somehow looked around and saw he was in a darker version of the castle.
Looking around, he couldn't see much due to the snow blowing but he could make out a figure in the corner.
"Don't feel. Conceal. Don't feel."
Hiccup was going to take a closer look when he had suddenly been pulled away from Elsa by Jack.
"Come on!" Jack grabbed Hiccup's arm and tried to drag him out when he yanked himself free of the...whatever that was.
"What? No! We have to help her!" Hiccup stated.
"We can't do anything about it right now! She's been corrupted by Pitch, meaning she's not herself! She will kill us if she gets the chance!" Jack stated as he grabbed Hiccup again and this time accomplished dragging him out.
Elsa quickly used her powers and got rid of all of the ice and saw the two of them escape.
"Aw, it's cute when they run," Elsa said with a smug smile.
"Yes..." Pitch agreed as he appeared behind her and pulled her close. "But don't worry, you will have your chance."
The two flew across the skies and made it to the Snuggly Duckling where the others were hard at work trying to create a small river to block the place off from the rest of the world.
"They're back!" Anna stopped scooping sand and ran to greet them as Jack landed and let Hiccup go. As soon as she reached them, Anna was hurt to see that Elsa wasn't with them. "Where...where is she?"
"Pitch found her first." Jack was sorry to say as he passed her.
Hiccup walked over and hugged Anna, sorry for not being fast enough. "She's not lost. I saw her. She just needs our help."
"How?" Anna asked. "How can we help her?"
Hiccup was sorry to say he didn't have an answer for that as the sky started to darken and they needed to get inside.
"Come. We can't stay out here." Valka pushed the two along and reach inside as Sisu finished digging the water hole and raced inside.
The skies are darkening. Pitch Black was beginning to free himself. Elsa has been corrupted by the darkness. Things were going to get worse before they had any chance of getting better.
