Just a few days before Larida was unfortunately injured in the scrap climbing challenge, she found herself making rounds throughout the hotel that everyone was staying at, trying to make sure that they were all doing okay. For some off reason, she felt as if something was off, and she had no idea what it was. She knocked on Buck's door and found out that he hadn't slept for a couple of days, immediately seeing that as a call to action. She lifted the boy off of the ground, despite his defiance, and carried him into his bed, tucking him under the covers so snugly that he found it impossible to even move the slightest muscle.
"There, that oughta fix you right up!" she said gleefully, patting him on the head before turning to leave the room, "And don't think about leaving that bed until you get yourself some shuteye, young man."
"Agh, what if I have to pee?" Buck asked, struggling to break free of his blanketed prison.
"If you have to pee, I'm sure you'll find a way. That's what you do, right? You find a way through every little problem! Now, nighty night!"
She shut the door gently behind her as she left his room, and she now passed on over to Teddy's room, knocking on the door once only for it to be swung open with a great force. The boy stood there, trembling in his shoes, with his eyes as dilated as could be, and an energy drink in hand. Not only was he currently drinking one, but a quick glance through the room showed that there were many empty cans scattered about. Larida fixed a stern look on her face as she crossed her arms and tapped her foot in annoyance.
"What's up!?" Teddy shouted, clearly unaware of just how loud he was being.
"Theodore Wallace!" the way that she said his full name like that immediately struck some fear into his heart, "What did I say about drinking more than two of these in a day?"
"You don't understand! I need, need, need them to function! It's like my water, I drink it to stay alive, I bathe in it, I use it to brush my teeth!"
"That is disgusting, young man! You need to drink some actual water and...definitely don't bathe or brush your teeth with energy drinks! Why would you even think that was remotely okay?"
"I heard it can be good for your skin on some YouTube video!"
"YouTube is not a reliable source for health benefitting hacks. Starting tomorrow, you're going to be drinking tea and coffee as your caffeine source, and you're not going to have more than three cups a day."
"But I'll crash super hard! I won't be able to go on! Woe is me, woe is me!"
"That's called withdrawal, sweetie. And you're going to have to deal with it until you can live without them."
"But-"
"No buts! Now, bring me the rest of your stash."
"Alright..."
Trudging away for a moment, the boy reached under his bed, pulling out three twenty-four pack cases of energy drinks and running them over to Larida before solemnly passing them onto her hands.
"Goodbye, sweet friends!"
"And please, go take a shower with some real water now. You can't be walking around all sticky from those drinks."
"Fine..."
Teddy slammed the door shut, as grumpy as could be, only for Larida to pull it back open furiously.
"I know you did not just slam the door in my face, young man!"
"Agh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
"That's what I thought."
She then shut the door politely, carrying the many energy drinks away with her as some of her other teammates watched in fear. That was truly only something that a mother could do.
