In a shabby closet at the ever-impressive Loser's Hotel, Jackson sat at a shoddy desk in a chair that had probably been passed around and used at lawn parties for the past ten years. In one hand, he held a milkshake, which he was thoroughly enjoying, sip by sip, and the other hand was clasped around a computer mouse, one which was connected to an old computer that had a monitor filled with all sorts of camera feeds. He could see inside, he could see outside, even the perimeter of the island was visible in some of the feeds. As he narrowed his glance at the screen, he noticed something rather peculiar on one of the outside cameras. There was a water tower, just sitting in the middle of nowhere, but what was strange about it, was who was standing at the ladder below it. The shirt, the pants, even the messy hairdo that was oh-so familiar to everyone; it had to be him. Jackson smirked, tossing his milkshake into a garbage bin and walking out through the closet door, ending up in the office with Aaron and Dana.
"I'm goin' on a little field trip, try not to miss me too much," the boy said sarcastically as he walked his way on out of the room, not giving either of them a chance to say a word to him.
He tucked his hands into his jacket pockets and whistled as he meandered through the hallways of the hotel, before eventually exiting through the front entrance and taking in the not-so-sweet island air. He let out a sigh, starting to walk off into the distance, towards where the water tower was. It took him a few minutes to actually get to it, but once he was there, his camera feed was proven to be the real deal.
"Chris McLean," Jackson called the man's name, causing him to leap into the air from sudden fright before turning to face the boy, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Dana sent your ass bouncing off of this island quite some time ago, didn't she?"
"Er," the familiar host rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, averting eye contact with the boy, "Well, yeah. I guess that did happen."
"Mhm...so why are you back here? Wait, let me guess...you forgot your hair gel? That's gotta be it, you'd just be a complete mess without it."
"Haha, very funny. Actually, I'm here on more official business...but nobody knows it yet."
"That's quite interesting, but since I'm the island's security, I can kinda just tell you to leave and you can't-"
"Oh, don't worry about a thing, son!" another man's voice called from behind the water tower.
The man stepped out from behind the metal structure, revealing himself to be quite elegant. He was definitely taller than Chris, though slightly taller than him. His skin was more pale, as well, and his hair was a gorgeous blonde, being held back in a tight ponytail. His eyes were as blue as the ocean, and he wore a smile that made him look as friendly as could be. He was all dressed up nice and fancy, in a full black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and a blue tie that matched his eyes.
"Hey...I know you. You're that dude from the big media company...what was it again? Olympus?"
"Ah, I see my face isn't much of a secret, is it? I told my assistant to stop taking pictures for posters, but she insists that it's good for publicity. The name's Poseidon Theodoros, but as I tell everyone: just call me Poseidon."
"Poseidon...like the Greek god, eh? What's some bigshot like you doing with that loser, Chris?"
"Oh, Mr. McLean is far from a loser, son! He's an important business partner to me! I know it may look shifty, what we're doing here at this water tower, but I promise you, my associate is en route to speak with Miss Starshine about a deal of sorts."
"Is she now? Well, then you won't mind if I wait here until she gets back?"
"Not at all, son!"
"Hey, Sea-For-Brains!" Chris slapped his partner on the back of the head, "I don't want him here, he's cramping my style!"
"Oh, it's quite alright, Mr. McLean! Amphitrite will be back in a few moments, likely with Miss Starshine to discuss our dealings!"
"But-"
"Don't worry about it, I've got it all under control!"
Jackson kicked back on the ground, watching the two men discuss the situation among themselves. He sighed at the sight of it, but he wasn't going to leave. Dana was the reason he even had a job to begin with, and he would do anything to make sure that something like Jay never happened to her again.
