Scrap Island, truly a place of boundless opportunity from the rubble. People come for a chance to earn a score of five million dollars, people come to get away from their horrible fathers, people come because they are just really into the apocalypse. Though…some people come, and forget what they came to the island for in the first place. There was a man who had supposedly ended up on the island after an incident near Saturn, an incident which left his body burnt horribly and almost unrecognizable. To think, this was the very same man that had threatened, not only Dana herself, but the rest of the contestants that she had with her in Cali-Tokyo. Jay Harett, third most wanted criminal in the entire world, only behind two others. Number two, a grand war criminal that has been off the grids for a good long while. And number one, a man only known by a screen name…that being Mr. History. His crimes? The entire recreations of horrible incidents that have taken place in the past. Some say that Harett was a benefactor to Mr. History, but it's entirely unknown outside of a few coincidences.
Regardless, Harett was suspected to have landed on Scrap Island at some point…before it was cleared of its radiation. He has been thought dead by some, but it's honestly tough to make a solid decision on those grounds. Dana couldn't help but look out her window in wonder, feeling that something was just…well, off. She sighed, turning away from the window and glancing over at Aaron, who looked up from his computer and smiled up at her. "It's always so nice to see that smile of yours…it makes me feel so much more comfortable." The girl cleared her throat, turning to face the camera. "Last time, on Total Drama: Scrap Island, we had a meeting of the minds, and one lack of a mind, in Caleb's room, when he started to rope them in on his plans for dominating the game, requesting Fridge to go try and make friends on the Squirrels to see who would be the most opposed to the idea. Max's appetite went on to astound Calvin and Celeste, as it always did, when our former yandere discovered that Calvin had a crush on Max, just like the latter did on the former. We moved on to the challenge part of the episode, where the goal was to find food in a heaping pile of dirt, clean it off, and cook it into a meal for our lovely intern, Ivy, who shared a heartfelt moment with Vernon later in the challenge. The Dingos ended up going with a dinner salad while the Squirrels did their best to make a burger, which somehow ended up with Yves slapping Zane across the face for talking to her about Buck. Talk about harsh. Fridge ended up mucking up the cooking process several times, but in the end, Max swallowed the salad whole, leaving the Dingos with no platter, and an elimination to attend to. Of course, our resident foodie wouldn't leave without a little smooch from everybody's favorite secret agent wannabe. What'll happen with this Caleb alliance racking up to huge proportions? Who will be the next crumble under its foot? Find out, right now, on Total Drama: Scrap Island!"
The camera suddenly flew into the sky, being struck by a massive chunk of debris and knocking it back to the ground, only to be picked up by a cute, blue and silver striped robot with one wheel that it used to move.
"Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine," the robot pointed the camera at Theodore at a cafeteria table, pounding down energy drinks like a champ, his eyes twitching from the caffeine while Larida looked concerned for his health.
"You guys are on my mind," at a nearby table, Ronnie was arm wrestling Mitchell, winning easily and slamming him straight through the table, causing Celeste to run over and start screaming at the powerhouse.
"You asked me what I wanted to be and I think the answer's plain to see," the robot wheeled its way out of the cafeteria, showing a junkyard with Vernon scribbling something down in silence and Ivy looking over his shoulder to peek at it, until Blaster popped out of one of the garbage piles, scaring him and making his papers fly off into the sky.
"I wanna be famous!" Vernon ran after his papers, leaving Ivy behind in confusion, eventually passing by Margaret and Daniel as they were making out while surrounded by four intense looking mafia thugs, one who spotted the camera and chased after it.
"I wanna live close to the sun," the robot wheeled away from the mafia goon, passing by Zane and Bunny, the latter who was bugging the boy by holding a mic up to his face, which he tried to shove away.
"So pack your bags, cause I've already won," Fridge carried Caleb on his shoulders across from Aaron, who had Dana on his own shoulders, the two up top slapping at each other as the robot passed by.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day," as the robot continued to roll around, it finally made its way out of the junkyard and to the remnants of Cali-Tokyo, where Buck was attempting to profess his love to Yves, who was all flustered by the gesture.
"I wanna be famous!" Nearby, atop a pile of rubble, Brittany was making fun of Valerie, who let out a sigh and pushed her off the pile and onto the ground.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na," near the pile, there were some barrels of toxic waste, which inspired Mitzy, who scribbled something down on a blank sheet while Alice was absolutely appalled by the sight.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!" CJ was being chased by a massive and terrifying robot with six legs and two clawed arms, which then noticed the robot with the camera and chased after it, causing it to drop the camera.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!" The camera feed cut to the aftermath stage, showing Calvin trying to kiss Max, who, out of embarrassment, belched right in his face.
The two were soon shoved aside by Capone, who rolled his eyes at them, while Sunny, next to him, waved happily to the camera with a huge smile on her face. Maggie popped up between the two of them, an acoustic guitar around her back, hugging them both tightly and snickering while the camera panned out to show the whole cast sitting in the risers, with the little robot sitting next to Caleb, and Franchesco standing off to the side with a glare fixed on Maggie.
Buck groaned as he sat outside Yves' room, waiting for the owner of said room to come out and talk to him about the incident from the other day. He agreed to let her have a few days to calm down, but let her know that he did want to know her reasoning for, well, attacking Zane out of nowhere. The day had finally come where they had agreed to talk, but something just seemed, well, frankly, off. He sighed, looking down at the floor, when, suddenly, CJ ran over to him, a pumped up smile right on his face.
"Ah, CJ! How ya doin', man?" Buck struggled to pull himself up from the ground, his legs a bit shaky from a lack of sleep. Seeing him like this always made his friends upset, but they knew there wasn't much they could do to remedy the issue. "Uhf, there we go! These dang ol' knees of mine have got minds of their own, ya hear? Trying to tell me it's time for bed when I just done woke up from my nap!"
"Yeesh, man…I can't imagine having knees like those. I mean, I wouldn't really be able to skate like I do, so it would be really crappy for me." CJ rubbed the back of his head. He had never really been sure of what he should do for Buck to, well, help him get through his days. It wasn't really an area of expertise for the skater, considering how aloof he typically was. "Uh, y'know, I was figuring that we could chill later, catch some reruns of old Z-Games tournaments and eat enough chips to fatten an elephant! Whaddya say?"
"Well, I know that me and Yves were supposed to be doing some stuff today, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I hung out for like…I dunno, a couple hours afterwards?" Buck nervously chuckled, still thinking back to the vicious slap from before. "Yeah, yeah! We can totally do that later, just, uh…check back with me a bit later on, sound good?"
"Word, man. For now, I think I'm gonna go run around the hotel and sneak into rooms that Dana would tell me not to. I mean, what's the point of rules if not to be broken, am I right?" CJ snickered before running off down the hall, waving behind his back at his friend. Soon enough, he ran down a set of stairs, disappearing from sight and leaving Buck alone in front of the door. The hillbilly sighed, sitting himself back down, though the door quickly opened up.
"Woah there!" Buck tumbled back on accident, rolling into Yves' room. He was laying flat on the ground, staring up to see her standing there, looking down at him with a dull look on her face. "Yves! Ah, sorry! Let me get off of yer floor…" The boy scrambled to his feet, laughing as nervously as he used to when he first discovered how much he liked her. "S-sorry 'bout that, the door just swung open and I- ah, why am I telling ya what happened, ya just saw it happen, heheh…"
"...It's nice to see you being your goofy self." Yves had a slight smile on her face, though she had a hard time looking him in the eyes. She knew what she had to tell him, but at the same time, she knew that telling him this would definitely make his stress worse. "So…about the other day…w-with Zane…"
"Yeah, what was up with that? Ya usually don't do things without reason, so I'm sure he musta done something ta tick ya off, but what was it?" Buck put a smile on, one that perfectly encapsulated just how sweet and caring he really could be. "Ya know ya can tell me anything!"
"...Right. Well, you see-" Yves went on to try and tell him, but she couldn't help but stop speaking when the two of them felt a massive thud on the ground. It shook the hotel quite a bit, greatly confusing the couple. Of course, they rushed out to the hallway to get a look out the window and see what it was that had happened…
Ronnie was in the gym downstairs, running on a treadmill while throwing punches at a speed bag that he had hung at the front of said treadmill for added difficulty. He was one to challenge himself to be better every day, so something like this wasn't really out of the ordinary for him. While he ran, listening to the music in his earbuds, Fridge came into the gym through the front door, immediately taking the route to the dumbbells. He grabbed the heaviest one that he could find, that being one that was one hundred pounds, and hoisted it off the ground like it was nothing.
Of course, the ease with which the massive boy lifted the weight caught Ronnie's eye. He stopped running on the treadmill, turning it off and taking his ear buds out to walk over to the gym's only other denizen. "Yo, man, you're lifting that like it's nobody's business…doesn't that strain you at all?"
"This thing?" Fridge held the dumbbell between two fingers, letting it dangle loosely in his grasp, astounding Ronnie even more than before. "I didn't think it was that heavy, I figured this was pretty small! The weights I have back home are much bigger…and on bars! Not these silly little ones! Who could get a good workout with this?"
"...Man, I think what you got at home is just a barbell, not a dumbbell set." Ronnie snickered and pointed behind him at the barbell, which was currently set with two hundred pounds on it. "I was just using it before I hopped on the treadmill, gotta make sure every muscle in my body is at peak performance." He kissed his own bicep as Fridge dropped the dumbbell to the ground, walking over to the barbell with an intrigued look on his face. "That look like what you got at home?"
"Yeah…except there is more weight than this!" Fridge chuckled, picking up the barbell with one hand and hoisting it over his shoulder, shocking Ronnie. "This is how much my friends at school usually lift, but I have mine set at…er…maybe twice as much? That's just for warmups, though."
"...You warmup on a four hundred pound barbell? Man, that's more than the upper limit of most folks I know." Ronnie leaned up against the wall, scratching his chin with curiosity flooding his mind. "Hey, man, you wanna do me a favor? You think you could show me the max weight you could toss on one of those guys? I gotta say, you've peaked my curiosity."
"Oh, sure, sure! I could do that!" Fridge beamed, happy to help in whatever way he could. With no hesitation, he reached for a couple of weights on a rack nearby. He put them on by the hundred, ending up with an astounding one thousand pounds on the bar. Ronnie chuckled to himself, figuring that the big guy was full of himself and couldn't actually lift that much. Fridge cracked his knuckles, grabbing the barbell with both hands before taking in a deep breath and hoisting the bar up high, right over his head. In fact, it was so high, that it was almost touching the ceiling.
Ronnie's jaw dropped from the utter shock of seeing his fellow competitor lift so much weight so high into the air, but then, something peculiar happened. There was a sudden quake, which caused Fridge to drop the barbell to the ground. The two boys stood there in silence, and then, another quake rolled through the room, shaking each and every bit of equipment in there. Out of curiosity, they had to run out of the gym to take a look outside and see what was going on…
Zane was lounging in the cafeteria, his feet kicked up while he stared up at the ceiling. Usually, he met in the cafeteria with Valerie to try and help her with her self esteem issues each day, but she seemed to be running late…much later than usual, at least. He had gotten a bit bored at this point, and felt that he'd be better off just looking for her. He sighed, getting up from the seat he was in to head for the door, only to bump into Celeste, who was on her way in. "Oh, I'm sorry!" He accidentally knocked her down, considering the significant size difference between the two of them, but he did reach his hand down to her to help her up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm okay." Celeste had gone back to her much quieter self since the breakup between her and Mitch, give for when she was hanging out with Calvin or Max. "Sorry, I didn't mean to get in your way or anything…"
"Huh? No, you're good. Not in the way or anything, it was just a little accident, that's all." Zane chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck after he pulled her up from the floor. "Say, since you're coming from the halls, you haven't seen Valerie, have you?"
"Valerie…? No, I don't think I saw her…oh!" Celeste slammed her fist down on her hand, suddenly remembering something from earlier. "I think I actually did pass her earlier…it looked like she was talking to Brittany, so I just tried to steer clear of them. You know how Brittany gets…well, with anyone. And Valerie…wellllll…her temper can get the better of her at times, so I figured someone was gonna get punched in the throat."
"Yeah, that sounds about Valerie. I guess I should probably go find them, then, keep any accidents from happening." Zane smiled politely to Celeste, who meekly smiled back. "Thanks…uh…Celeste, right? Pretty name."
"O-oh! Thank you!" Celeste blushed slightly from the compliment, though the blush was wiped from her face and replaced with confusion when a sudden quake shook the ground. Zane was quick to grab her, noticing that she looked as if she was gonna fall to the ground. The quake came to a stop at some point, but the two were still a bit shaken up.
"Are you alright?" Zane looked down at Celeste, who weakly nodded, clearly more dazed than he was. "Oh man…you look like you're going to pass out. Alright, let's take a look outside and see what that shaking was all about…I can carry you back to your room after, okay?" She weakly nodded again, ushering him to hold her in his arms. After he got a good hold on her, he rushed out into the hall to check the source of the quake…
Upstairs, near the supply closet that Valerie typically moped in, there was…well, someone different standing in front of the door. Brittany, who was filing her nails, had been there for a good while at this point. Valerie was watching her from further down the hall…and she had also been there for a good bit of time. She knew that she had to meet with Zane in the cafeteria, but there was something that she did before each meeting that she hadn't been able to get to due to Brittany just standing in the way. With a sigh, she moseyed towards the door, her hands tucked into her jacket pockets. "...You're in the way."
"I'm in the way, am I?" Brittany laughed obnoxiously, causing Valerie to wince out of anger. "That's pretty rich, considering wherever you are is in the way for someone else. You're a walking obstruction, don't you know?"
"...I'm well aware of that…that's why I like to hide in that closet that you're standing in front of. So I don't get in the way or anything…so can you please just move so I can get through?" Valerie looked down at the ground, trying to pass by Brittany to enter the closet…only for the preppy girl to lean up against it so that it couldn't be opened. "...Why?"
"Well, me and the rest of the team think it's pretty shady how you just hide in here, every single morning without fail. I mean, what's up with that? There's gotta be something that you're hiding from us, and I sure would like to find out." Brittany grinned as she leaned down towards Valerie, making sure to get uncomfortably close to her face. "Tell me, loser, what is it that you do in here every morning?"
"I don't do anything special, I just sit in the trash…where I belong." Valerie didn't flinch from the aggressiveness of her teammate. "You can check in there if you don't believe me…"
"Oh, I did check in there already, sweetie. I found some interesting stuff, I must admit…well, a lot of wood chips and shavings. There was also a tablet in there that seems like it has facial recognition on it…I couldn't get into it!" Brittany pulled the tablet out from behind her, holding it up with a grin on her face. "Why don't you try to unlock it? I'd love to see what's on the tablet, wouldn't you?"
Valerie looked back at Brittany with an utterly annoyed look on her face, grabbing the tablet from her hands. She held it up to her face, but it didn't unlock, only annoying Brittany more than before. "Probably just belongs to the security guard or something…I've seen him wander around here a couple times…really early in the day."
"Whatever! You can just keep the stupid thing then, lord knows your parents don't love you enough to buy you one of these!" Brittany crossed her arms and Valerie gritted her teeth, holding the tablet in one hand and clutching something in one of her jacket pockets with the other hand. Before the popular girl could harass her any further, the ground started to shake violently. The two had their attention drawn to the window, wondering what it was that caused the quaking…
Bunny was entirely bored…with no challenge, she had no good opportunity to get any pictures of Caleb being useless to incriminate him later on. The alliance was solid for her, considering it set her up with a vote of four on the team, but she loved to have her contingencies, just for when things started to turn sour. She let out a sigh, standing in front of Caleb's door and lightly knocking on it. He came to the door, of course, opening it with an aggravated look on his face. "What the hell do you- oh, Bunny! I'm sorry for my rudeness, would you give me just one moment?"
Bunny raised a finger to stop the boy, but he was quick to slam the door in her face. She crossed her arms, annoyed with him already. He came back to the door, opening it to reveal that he was now wearing a black, silk bathrobe. He had a grin on his face and a wine glass in his left hand, which, of course, was full of a reddish liquid. "Uh…" Bunny pointed at the glass, confused as to how he had alcohol on him.
"Oh, don't worry! It's just grape juice! My mom always tells me that grape juice is the drink of champions! Would you care for some?" He held the glass out to her, though she was quick to decline. "No? A shame…anyways, did you need something from me, or are you here to confess how much you love me and my amazing leadership?"
"...Uh…well…" Bunny suddenly had an idea, her expression shifting to a miserable one. "Oh, Caleb, it's just…well, I really like Fridge, but he doesn't ever notice me…It makes me feel like I'm not pretty enough for him, or something like that…"
"Well, to be fair, there are definitely a lot of girls here that are way hotter than you." Bunny glared at the boy for a moment, though she shifted her expression back quickly.
"I was just thinking…well, it would really be nice if there was some boy on the island that could maybe make me feel like I'm pretty enough as I am?" She looked down at him with pleading eyes, causing him to blush. "Maybe somebody that I could make out with to try and boost my self esteem?"
"Say no more! I, the island's resident playboy, will give you what you desire!" Caleb closed his eyes tight, puckering his lips for Bunny to kiss him. Of course, she did…making out with him for a solid thirty seconds. She took plenty of pictures while his eyes were closed, getting everything she needed from the exchange before pulling back from him and hiding her camera. "W-w-woah…that's what kissing girls is like!? That was awesome! Ah, I am such a fucking badass!"
"Yeah, you are…a very 'handsome' badass." Bunny smiled lightly, keeping her innocent act on until something caused the ground to shake wickedly. The two almost fell over from the intensity, but when it finished, they regained their stance. They rushed to the window, trying to see what it was that had happened…
Vernon was strolling through the hall, heading towards the office, where Ivy typically was early in the day like this. He still had some trouble talking with some of the other competitors, considering everything that had happened between him and his team to date. Specifically Caleb and Margaret…the two of them didn't care much for how he was nice to Ivy. He let out a sigh as he opened the door to the office, seeing two people standing inside.
"So, you're saying I should try to talk to them one-by-one?" Ivy had a piece of paper in her hand, one which she seemed pretty upset to be holding. "I mean…'Go Home, Harett!' This one is from Buck, so it's a little more tame than the things I get from some of the others, but still, it's annoying to get these nailed on my bedroom door all the time. I mean, Margaret nailed a bag to the door…and the bag was full of my hair!"
"Are you sure it vas your hair?" Aaron stood across from her, scratching his chin in thought. "I mean, it could have been anybody's hair, right?"
"...Aaron, it was purple. I am the only person on the whole island with purple hair. Mitzy has some pink and Jackson has some red, but nothing else is even close to purple from anyone." Ivy shuddered, thinking about how Margaret even ended up with all that hair. She glanced over to the doorway, seeing Vernon standing there, which brought a smile to her face. "Vernon! What's up, man?"
"Ah, you know, just…came here to see if you were doing anything." Vernon mumbled his words, as he typically did, while the screamo girl rushed over to him, laying her elbow on his shoulder. "I see you're talking to Aaron right now…"
"Yeah, just addressing my typical concerns with how the other contestants act towards me, you know how it can be. You sound a little weirder than usual, what's the matter with Aaron being here?" Ivy chuckled to herself before joking with the boy, "Almost seems like he asked you to compare sizes or something and you weren't down with it." The two boys blushed brightly from the joke and glared at Ivy, signalling to her that the joke hit too close to home. "Yeesh, talk about sensitive."
"Apologies, Miss Ivy. It really is nozing to be concerned vith." Aaron refused to look at Vernon, and it was the same vice versa. Ivy felt a bit weirded out with the two of them in the same room, but the feeling shook when the quake came to shake the room. It lasted a few seconds before stopping, and the group rushed out of the room, worried about what could have caused it…
Calvin was a bit distraught with all that had happened in the past week, losing his fellow agent as well as the girl that he had a crush on. It had been weighing on him quite a bit, but he knew he had to keep himself focused on the investigation at hand. He was utterly determined to find Jay, who he just had a gut feeling was on the island. His investigation had brought him outside, where he was digging about through the rubble to find clues, although he had a stroke of bad luck. He was going strong for a while, with the picture of Buck and the guitar pick that Yves had found, though the river of clues was dry at the present.
"Come on, agent, think! Those items are assuredly connected to this case, simply being used to harass the citizens of the island and remind them of his alter ego: Garett Hearth! You can think of what else would be a good clue, and where it would be…you always know this stuff!" Calvin slapped himself against the forehead, getting a huge stain of dust and debris on it. He groaned, feeling disgusting from the muck on his face. "Great…just great. Ugh, this investigation would have gone so much better if Agent Bailey wasn't so weakened at the start. He's surely more useful than Agent Coil could be…that's rude of me to say! She was a wonderful agent!"
"Are you talking to yourself, man?" Calvin jumped up out of shock, soon turning around to see that Teddy was standing there, watching him judgingly. "You're just out here, in the middle of nowhere, talking to nobody and digging around in the debris. Surely this could only mean one thing…"
"Ah! No, I assure you, Agent Wallace, what this is isn't what you think!" Calvin tried to convince the streamer that there was no investigation going on, but the boy was grinning a cheesy grin that meant he was thinking something else entirely.
"You're making a video! I should've known from the start!" Teddy laughed off the oddity of what Calvin was doing, greatly confusing the agent wannabe. "So, man, you wanna make this thing a crossover? You know I've got tons of followers, I can use my fame to boost your channel, if you'd like!"
"Uh…well, I'm not actually-"
"No need to explain whatever kind of video it is, man, I'm sure you've got your reasons. Oo, maybe it's educational! Those ones kinda blow, but still, having me there is basically like any clickbait title." Teddy grinned as he walked over to Calvin, patting the boy on the back. "This is gonna make you huge, just so you're aware! I hope you're ready like Teddy, cause there is no going back once you've made it into the spotlight! People will watch your every move, hear your every word, and judge you the entire time!"
"Uh, well, you see, Teddy, I was actually…" Calvin glanced around the outside, looking for an excuse as to what he was doing, his eyes eventually landing on Mitzy, who was minding her own business, watching some fish swimming in the ocean. "Right! I was playing hide and seek!"
"...Hide and seek?" Teddy scratched his chin, a bit confused by this. "I dunno, man, you're looking in a bunch of wacky places to be trying to find somebody. Like, honestly, anybody that's under that debris is dead…you don't wanna be showing dead people in your videos. Bogan Maul did that pretty long ago and…yeesh, people still talk about how horrible he is all the time."
"I'm not doing a video! I'm looking for Agent Wakeman, and I've just found her!" Calvin rushed over to where Mitzy was, patting her on the head, startling her. "Agent Wakeman, I found you!" Calvin had a look on his face that read "play along" while Teddy trailed close behind him, staring at Mitzy as if waiting for her to respond.
"Uh…yeah! You found me alright!" Mitzy stood up, giggling a bit. "You know, you really aren't that good of a seeker, considering how long it took you to find me."
"Uh…Agent Wakeman, I don't know if-"
"No, seriously!" Mitzy leaned towards Teddy with a smile on her face. "It's been almost an hour at this point, and I thought my hiding spot was pretty obvious!" She nudged the streamer with her elbow, and the two of them started to chuckle about how bad Calvin was at seeking, bring a frown to his face. "I guess that makes me the seeker now…finally! So, you should probably get to hiding, right?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'll get right on that." Calvin grumbled to himself before scanning the area to find a good hiding spot. His plan sort of backfired, but he had to roll with it at this point, lest Teddy find out about what he was actually doing. As he kept looking out, his eyes happened upon something that the sheer sight of drained all the life from his face. He fell to the ground out of shock, confusing both of the other contestants that were standing around him.
"Eh? What're you doing, sitting on the floor liker that?" Mitzy giggled as she knelt down next to him. "Afraid that you're gonna have a hard time hiding, just like you did with the seeking?" Calvin slowly raised his hand to point at something off into the distance, drawing Mitzy's attention to it. Just like him, she went pale, not knowing what to make of the sight. Teddy looked out to see what it was, immediately getting the same effect, though he shook it off quickly.
"Guys, come on, we need to get inside, now!" The streamer ironically grabbed both of the heroic figures and dragged them behind him as he bolted for the hotel, running on adrenaline and adrenaline alone. "What the hell is that thing?" He was horrified, but he couldn't look back to get a closer look as the ground started to shake.
Dana still had an uneasy feeling about herself as she sat in her room, just staring out the window at the open sea. She let out a sigh, she always hated it whenever she got that feeling, the uncertainty paired with assured destruction. The door to her room suddenly swung open, with Margaret standing in the doorway itself. "Alright, you called for me? You know I'm usually pretty busy, doing anything other than talking to a fourteen year old…so make this quick."
"Oh, right…" Dana stood from her seat, turning to face Margaret and sighing again. "So, Aaron told me that you nailed a bag of Ivy's hair to her door? I just have like…several questions, actually. First of all, how did you even get your hands on it?"
"Easy, she sleeps like a baby. An elephant storming into her room couldn't even wake her up." The mobster snickered, vividly remembering having taken the hair from the intern. "Besides, one side of her head is bald already, I was just…helping her even it out."
"...Even so, that really wasn't the nicest thing to do." Dana saw Margaret mocking her with her hand as she talked, glaring at her in response. "Look, I know you don't like her for…well, the obvious reason and all, but you have to show her respect, as she does work for the show. If you continue to harass her, I'll have to-"
"You'll have to what? Eliminate me for utter bullcrap again?" The mobster walked closer to Dana, visibly more angry than she was previously. "I know, you just love to eliminate people when they have done nothing wrong. First time was whatever, I can let that slide, but if you so much as think of pulling that crap again, I'm gonna put my foot down. Unluckily for you, I'm not afraid to injure a child if I need to."
Dana gulped, seeing the expression on Margaret's face. She knew that she wouldn't lie about what she could or would do. "...All I ask is that you take it easy on her…we do have a security guard on the island to assure she doesn't do anything bad while she is around."
"Right, the bum that lives in the basement, I'm so sure that he can handle any sort of threat-" Margaret was suddenly cut off when the ground started to shake violently. Dana fell forward from the intensity, but out of instinct, the mobster caught her and pulled her back up to her feet. "What the hell is going on out there!?"
"I don't know what that was…let's go check." Dana rushed out of her bedroom, heading towards the front entrance to the hotel. When she got outside, Mitzy, Calvin, and Teddy passed her right by, hiding behind her in fear. Much to her surprise, heading right towards the ruins of Cali-Tokyo, was a massive robot with eight, blade-like legs, and arms with pincers as hands. It had a beaming red eye that was staring directly at the host, scaring her half to death. With everyone now surrounding her, wondering what they should do, they found themselves at a loss. "...Everyone, get to the bunkers, now!"
Chaos was breaking out in the streets, and the citizens of the island were utterly horrified by what was happening…except for two select people. CJ felt the quakes going on outside, but he really paid them no mind, being much more interested in wandering where he wasn't supposed to go. He whistled to himself as he walked down the staircase to the basement, looking at the bleakness of the stairwell itself. "Man, Dana's really gotta get someone down here to dust or something. And maybe spray a little bit of Brysol freshness spray…pee u, man!"
The skater boy got to the bottom of the staircase, still completely ignoring the tremors that were shaking his feet as he walked. He really was having a ball getting into mischief. As he looked around, he noticed a door at the far end of the corridor that he was in. He shrugged his shoulders, heading straight for the door and staring at it. "Hm…if I were to guess, I would think this is where Dana and Aaron keep their secret stash." CJ snickered to himself, rubbing his hands together before reaching for the doorknob and twisting it open.
As the door opened, a room came into sight…one that seemed to be a mix of a bedroom as well as a security feed room. CJ glanced over at a desk, where there was a boy in a green, security guard outfit, tinkering with something. "Aw, man! I didn't know we had a basement troll in this hotel! Wassup, man, my name's CJ!" He happily strolled over to the boy, holding his hand out to shake it.
"...Sup." The boy at the desk hardly looked up from what he was working on, much less shook his hand.
"Uh…you know, just chilling, getting into trouble and what not just for the heck of it." CJ glanced up at the screens, noticing the mechanical beast of destruction in the city and gasping. "Hey, I've been seeing that thing all over the island, man! I thought I was going crazy, cause everyone else never saw it! Not even once!"
"You know that thing?" The man glanced over at CJ, revealing himself to be none other than Jackson Scales, Dana's hired security on the island. "Interesting…I thought I was the only person who saw it as well. I figured that schizophrenia was sinking in or something. Well, it's cool to know that I'm not quite insane yet."
"If that thing is rampaging through the city…doesn't that mean it's gonna come to the hotel?" Jackson nodded to the question, still tinkering with whatever was in his hands. "No, man! It can't come to the hotel, if it does…it's gonna be attacking all my friends! I don't want nobody to get hurt or nothing, man!"
"Yeah? Not really much you can do about it or anything…it's a giant robot." Jackson glanced back up at the camera as he tinkered away. "Yeah, it'd probably rip you in half if you tried to go out there."
"I can't help them…you're right man." CJ plopped down onto the bed that was in the room, letting out a drawn out sigh as he stared at the ground. "Man, that blows! Doesn't that blow?"
"Eh? Doesn't what blow? The fact that we're all gonna get murdered by a giant robot that looks like its straight out of some dystopian warlord's garage? Yeah, I guess that kinda blows."
"No, man…when you wanna help people, but you know you just can't do it. It happens to me all the time." The skater boy kept looking down, distraught over what was going on…before his sadness suddenly turned to rage and he got up from the bed, kicking the wall. "C'mon man, this ain't right! Everytime I wanna help, I can't do it! I try to show Buck how to skate, but I get him hurt! I tell people about this robot, no one believes me! Now it's here and I can't even do a thing about it!"
"Yeah, it sucks. Lucky for me, I hardly ever want to help anybody. Not really a problem I have to deal with, much." Jackson shrugged his shoulders, showing exactly how little he cared. He noticed the look on CJ's face, that being one that he was unfamiliar with himself. "...Huh, you really are pretty ticked off, aren't you?"
"Yeah, man…I am. It's whatever, if I can't do anything, I can't do anything…I just have to accept that." CJ sat back down on the bed in silence, hating that there was utterly nothing he could try to do. Jackson continued to study his face before ultimately sighing and grabbing a rather large backpack and a tool bag. "...What's all that stuff?"
"...Tools and crap, you know, stuff that us security guards usually have." Jackson sighed again, hating to have to have these kinds of talks with anybody. "I guess it's kinda my job to protect people here, so I should probably do something about the big robot. I figured, since you're moping about how useless you are and whatnot, why don't you come with me and we can stop that thing?"
"Really, man!? I would love that, that would be sick!" CJ jumped up from the bed, pulling Jackson in for a hug, much to the guard's displeasure. He quickly pulled away from him, chuckling awkwardly. "U-uh, sorry about that, man. I just got a little excited thinking about how awesome it is!"
"Yeah, yeah, why don't you save the excitement for when we are actually taking down the robot? We're gonna need to head on up to the rooftop, but I can fill you in on my idea on the way up, sound good to you?" CJ nodded feverishly at the question and Jackson rolled his eyes before turning to face the doorway. "Alright…let's go, then."
The massive robot was running rampant through the streets, and, at this point, most of the contestants, as well as the hosts and intern were hiding in the bunkers from a few days ago, fearful for their lives. "Is everybody in here!?" Dana started counting the heads in her bunker, seeing Zane, Ivy, Vernon, Mitzy, Celeste, Calvin, Teddy, and Valerie. She grabbed her phone from her pocket, calling up Aaron. "Aaron? Who's with you in your bunker?"
"U-uh…vell, I have Caleb, Fridge, Margaret, Bunny, Brittany, Buck, Yves, and Ronnie. Zat's all zhe people in here, ozer zan myself, of course." Aaron double checked the head count, making sure he hadn't missed a single person.
"Well that-...that leaves two people unaccounted for. Jackson should be in the hotel's basement, but what about CJ?" Dana looked at the contestants around her, a horrified look on her face. "Everybody, please tell me that we know where CJ is…" Not a single answer from any of them, which worried Aaron and her even more. "I have to go out there and find him, he can't be stuck outside with that rampaging robot!"
"Are you insane? Agent Starshine, there's a time and place to be a hero, but surely that robot is gonna step on you or snatch you up with its claws and turn you into its lunch if you go outside. We just have to hope that Agent Jones is safe, wherever he is." Calvin gulped nervously, feeling bad about having to have said that. "As I recall, you did put out a distress signal, right? Since you're so famous, I'm sure that help will get here soon."
"I don't know, you're the secret agent, here!" Valerie snapped at Calvin, clearly panicking from the direness of the situation at hand. "Wouldn't you know how long it takes for more of you guys to arrive?"
"I'm not actually a secret agent, I just really, really want to be one!" Calvin cried out, losing his composure like everybody else. All the while, Dana sat there with her phone in hand, still running.
"Yo." A mumbly voice peeped up from the phone, not one that many of the contestants really recognized from anywhere before. "It's me, Jackson. I was kinda bored so I figured I would tap into your call with…well, all the security tech you gave me. Gotta say, as much as I like to hear people panicking and all that, I'd kinda feel bad if I didn't tell you…well, CJ is right here with me."
"WHAT!?" The two groups of contestants, as well as the hosts and the intern were utterly shocked by this revelation.
"Yup…we're chilling on the roof of the hotel, watching the robo dude go wild. CJ, say hi so everyone stops pissing their pants over you being missing." The phone that Jackson could be heard calling from muffled around a bit, as if he was handing it to somebody.
"Yo, waddup fellas! …Oh, and lady fellas!" There was no doubt about it, the voice in question was CJ.
"CJ! Man, we were so worried about ya!" Buck was relieved to hear his friend's voice, though the relief quickly faded as he ripped Aaron's phone from his hand and shook it like a madman. "WHY ARE YA ON THE DANG ROOF WHILE THE ROBOT IS OUT THERE!?"
"Yo, yo, B-Dog, I know it sounds really reckless, and, to be fair, it totally is, but me and J-Dog here are about to do the coolest thing ever. Imma go down in history as the world's best skater…it's gonna be bangin', man. Ah, I guess you guys are just gonna have to catch it in the replays, though. Flip ya on the catchside, dudes!" Buck tried to speak up before CJ could hang up the phone he had, but it was no use. The line clicked, and he peaced out from the conversation.
"...He just hung up. The dude is on the roof during a crisis…and he just hung up on us." Buck dropped Aaron's phone, looking down at the ground in utter despair. Yves rushed over to him, hugging him tightly as he started to tear up. "I'm crying, ain't I? That's no good…I'm supposed to be the one that helps everybody stay calm in a bad situation like this 'un."
"Buck it's okay…just…it's okay." Yves was worried about CJ as well, something that she previously only did when it came to Buck himself. No doubt about it, CJ was certainly a cool guy…and not the type of guy that anyone would expect to ever try pulling a hero stunt, like this one.
Confessional
"So, like…I know I should probably chill down underground with the bros and babes, but like…I would totally rather do this wacky stunt, man! I'm hopped up on adrenaline, just thinking about this thing! I mean, I've done a lot of cool tricks on my board before, but nothing this cool!" CJ seemed a lot more pumped up about this than he typically was. "Besides, I pull this off and I end up taking care of the robo-spider that has been spooking me since day one of being on this island. Seriously, I thought I was hallucinating or something at first. Anyway, ride or die, baby! Time to mess this droid up, with some extra style tossed in for the viewers!" The boy held a peace sign up to the camera before it cut out.
Confessional End
CJ sat upon the rooftop, blowing a bubble with some gum that he was chewing while spinning his skateboard around on his finger. He watched Jackson as he set up a ramp on the roof, making sure that it was just the right size and angle for this crazy stunt to be pulled off. "Hm…so…like…remind me whats I gots to do again? I know you want me to slap him with something or something, but I totally zoned out when you were telling me what to do. Something, something, PMS, something?"
"EMP!" Jackson groaned, not looking back at the boy from the ramp that he was setting up. "It's an EMP, it shuts off stuff like electronics and all that…and, I mean, this robot is just a giant electronic if you think about it. One of these should shut it right off, long enough for us to shut it down permanently." Jackson finally stood from the ramp, having finished it. He turned to face CJ, holding a backpack in one hand, and a weird, remote-like box in the other. "Here…a parachute and the EMP. If you don't look like you're gonna hit the right spot, you can just-"
"You know, as much as I appreciate the concern and all that, I would totally rather just ride this thrill. I ain't taking that parachute!" CJ grinned as he grabbed the remote and walked to the other side of the roof, getting ready to jump the ramp.
"Are you insane? If you don't take the parachute, and you don't land perfectly, you will quite literally die on impact with the ground." Jackson stomped towards CJ, still holding the backpack. "CJ, just take the damn backpack…if you die it's gonna be my fault. And you know I don't wanna deal with that guilt. Got enough on my plate."
"If I don't land perfectly I'm going to die on impact?" CJ looked up, scratching his chin in thought. "Yeah, but I'm a really good skater, man. I taught my buddy Buck to use a skateboard…well, kinda taught him how. Speaking of Buck, I gotta take down this stupid robot cause me and him gotta hang out later, you know? So, gonna get the ball rolling here so I can chill with my buddy, ya dig?"
"...I'm confident that you are probably the coolest guy I have met in my entire life." Jackson was simply astounded while CJ winked at him. It wasn't long before the skater boy started running to the ramp, board in hand and a grin on his face. As he got closer and closer, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, setting the board down and hopping on it to propel himself forth at great speeds, going right over the ramp.
The breeze felt pretty good on his face, of course, he didn't open his eyes to take a look at what was happening, or even where he was. "Alright, bro, I know you told me to be pretty careful with this game, considering what happened to you when you were younger…but you know me, I just go with the flow!" He thought to himself, snickering out loud without opening his eyes yet. "Guess the flow has got me jumping off a roof to neck a robot or something, it's kinda weird how it happens like that. Anywho, hope you're not freaking out too much when you see me do this…cause man, it's gonna be totally wicked!"
CJ confidently opened his eyes, a determined look on his face as he soared down towards the wailing robot, remote in hand. Closer and closer, he came creeping up on it, and it, of course, turned to face him, letting out a horrible mechanical screech. CJ felt time slow down as he came right up upon the mechanical beast. As he passed by its head, he slapped the remote against the back of it, causing the button to depress while he safely landed on the robot's back, skating across it before hopping off and landing safely on the ground.
The robot let out another horrendous screech, something right out of a horror movie. After a few seconds, the noise suddenly came to a halt, and the robot that was running rampant through the streets of Cali-Tokyo sort of crumbled to the ground. The legs sparked up a bit, as if it was trying to move around, though it wasn't working at all. The beaming red light on its face faded out to nothing, and it stopped moving and making sound all together. CJ wiped his nose with his thumb, flashing a thumbs up to the robot as he continued to snicker.
The groups in the bunkers had heard the noise outside, and, of course, rushed out of them to see what the commotion was about. There, they saw the robot crumbled to the ground, with CJ standing next to it like a hero. Buck, although exhausted, rushed right over to him, taking him in his arms and not letting him dare move. "Ah, B-Dog, all the affection is sorta harshing just how rad that trick was, man."
"Man, I don't care 'bout all that 'er nothing, I'm just glad yer okay." Buck continued to hold his friend closely, while the crowd gathered around them to watch. Jackson even made his way down from the rooftop to meet up with the group, clearly exhausted from having ran all the way down those flights of stairs.
"Dude…that…was…so…badass." Jackson huffed and puffed between every single word, clearly ready to pass out at this point. "I think…woo…I think I am going to take a nap right now man…I'll be in the basement if any of you guys need me…geez…" Jackson headed right back for the hotel, heading inside as quick as his exhausted self could. Just as he made it back inside, the contestants and personnel heard some fumbling in the robot. They all gasped, fearful that it may kick up again, only for the head to pop off of it and land on the ground.
In the robot, there was a bulky man, who was wrapped entirely in…well, what looked like toilet paper. He tried to stand up from his little pilot's seat, though he quickly fell forward, landing on the ground in front of everyone. He looked up at them, blinking a few times while they just stared at him. Ronnie was cracking his knuckles and heading towards the man, soon scooping him up off the ground by his mummy wrap and aiming a fist at him. "You punk ass, thinking you can roll on up in here and do whatever you want!" The boy sent a fist cascading towards the man's face, though, when it struck him, it made a rattling sound, as if he just punched a metal pipe. "Ow, man! What the hell!?"
Ronnie tossed the man back to the ground, shaking his fist as it ached in pain. Buck gasped out of curiosity, running over to the guy and ripping the bandages off of his face, revealing the somewhat recognizable face of the man that had been haunting his dreams: Jay Harett. "J-Jay!?"
"E-eh!? Who are ye? I don't know you people! My name ain't Jay! I'm Harry Jett! …Or Garett Hearth? Who am I!? Tell me who I am!" The man had some pretty bad scarring, though it seemed it had been there a while. He was hardly sane, and quite aggressive. "You better start telling me who I am before I-"
Buck couldn't take the sight, and he ended up holding the man close to him as if he were a friend that he hadn't seen in years. "...I thought I killed ya…I thought I…oh my God…" Zane and Yves both panicked as they saw Buck clutching onto the man, and it took both of their combined forces to pull him away from him.
In the sheer shock of everything that had just occurred, the group failed to realize that a helicopter started to fly overhead, a ladder quickly descending from it. The ninja-esque woman from before climbed down the ladder, landing right next to Jay and picking him up by his wrist, though he really couldn't fight back or anything. "Well, well, looks like you kids managed to bag someone we've been trying to get a hold of for a long time. Agent Abadi, at your service. I'm sure the bulk of you are quite aware of who this is, that being Jay Harett, a deadly criminal wanted for hoarding nuclear arms."
"Yeah…he kinda sorta tried to kill us a year ago." Dana rubbed the back of her neck, vividly remembering the horrible events that had occurred on Cali-Tokyo. "You're with the-"
"IIA: International Intelligence Agency." The woman reached into her pocket, pulling out her badge and proudly showing it to all the people who surrounded them. "I'll be taking this guy back with me to some place where he can never hurt anyone again…and try to get him some PT. Alright, buddy, let's go."
"Eh!? You ain't my momma!" Jay tried to fight against the agent's grasp, but it was of no use. She grabbed onto the ladder, which soon started to pull up into the helicopter. Once the two of them got in the chopper, it started to fly away, leaving just the cast members on the island itself. Ivy had gone entirely pale from the sight, and almost seemed like she was about to fall over, so Vernon put his arm around her, pulling her close so she could feel slightly more comfortable.
"Well…I guess all's well that ends well, right?" CJ smirked as he leaned back onto the robot, unintentionally causing it to tip a little bit, startling everybody. It came to a half again, and CJ stopped leaning on the robot, letting out a breath of relief…relief that came to a sudden halt when the robot toppled over on top of him, causing the cast to gasp yet again.
Confessional
"Oof, man!" CJ yelped as he sat in a wheelchair, his body completely covered in casts all the way up to his neck. He couldn't help but laugh a little bit over what had happened. "Man, that's actually kinda funny! I mean, I just leaned on that thing and it teetered like a seesaw and just whoosh fell right on top of me! Hang on…how am I not dead?" He had a puzzled look on his face for a moment, but then, he started laughing like a goofball again. "Bah, don't care, CJ is still the winner in this round, you big, dumb robot!"
Confessional End
The cast met at the dock to the island, where there was a medical boat docked. CJ was there, in his wheelchair of course, with a huge smile on his face. "Uh…sorry we have to eject you from the game like this. We really couldn't have possibly seen something like this coming." Dana looked downright ashamed of herself for what had just occurred. "You know, we can try to bring you back into the game later on when you're all healed up. That's only fair, for me to forget my no second chances rule for this."
"Nah, I think I'm pretty good…I mean, I was totally a hero today!" CJ raised his arms up high and proud, soon yelping from the sudden, excruciating pain. "H-heh, I think I need to just chill out…but I'll keep watching and everything! B-Dog, I hope you make the finale again! That'd be totally wicked, you know?"
"Uh…I guess I can try 'er something, but I kinda figure I'm just gonna pass out in one of the challenges and lose because of that." Buck chuckled awkwardly, "Well, I'll do my best for ya, CJ!"
"Sweet, man! Ah, alright, I'm gonna get out of your hair now and relax with probably a super hot doctor by my side! I saw the little chart they got in there, her name is Dr. Jacobson, I'm pretty sure she's gonna be a total babe!" CJ squealed out of excitement before wheeling himself onto the medical evac boat, which started to drift away soon after. "Cowabunga, Scrap Island!"
Author's Notes:
*Oh no, I went and injured another one! Sorry, CJ, at least you went out looking like a hero here. You'll get another chance someday, homie. As far as Jay goes, the man did get severely injured from Saturn and directly landed in a heap of radiation to me. There really was no way that he could keep his sanity through all of that, leading to this big robot-suit of his. Out for the count and arrested…good job CJ. You really are the man.
