Chapter 2

"Sister?!"

"What do you mean sister?!" Nami screeched, shaking the absolute life out of Luffy.

"I mean sister. What else would I mean by that?" Luffy asked, looking at Nami like she was stupid. It was Luffy logic at its best and Nami looked about ready to short circuit from anger. Noticing this, Robin decided to step in.

"Captain-san, perhaps she's asking why you've never mentioned you had a sister."

"Huh. I'm pretty sure I did…" Luffy said putting his chin in his hand, ignoring the fact Nami still had him by the shirt. Beside him, Storm rolled her green eyes in exasperation at her brother's antics.

"Nope. Never." Practically the whole crew chorused in a deadpan tone making Luffy laugh.

"Probably because they never asked about it, huh?" Storm said in an amused voice.

"I'm sure you noticed he only mentions things like this if you ask him directly about it. It's not his fault, Ace does the same thing most of the time." She continued, throwing an arm around Luffy's shoulder, making Nami release Luffy's shirt in an effort to avoid the movement.

"Yes, we noticed that when it can to Garp and I believe Ace as well." Robin said in a calm tone, quietly staring at the woman whose arm was around her captain. The others could tell that Robin was both sizing her up and trying to determine her motives despite her pleasant exterior.

"Oh, you've already met Gramps? Well then, I can't see why you guys are worried about little, old me. Gramps is much more terrifying. Trust me on this." Luffy nodded along with his sister's words. From what the crew had seen so far, her words rang true but then again, they have only been around this girl for a few minutes. Anything could happen here on the Grand Line.

"No offense, but Luffy never mentioned you so why should we trust you?" Zoro asked, raising a brow in her direction. In response, all they got was a slasher-esque smile from the girl.

"You shouldn't really. It's a horrible idea." Luffy only laughed while the rest of the crew shared looks amongst themselves.

"But really, if you met Ace and Gramps, then what's another surprise family member?" They couldn't really argue with her on that one. After all, they had been quick to accept the other family members that tended to pop up from Luffy's wild bloodline.

"So… Your name is Monkey…?"

"Miura, actually. Miura D. Storm." She said, grin softening into an easy smile.

"D?" Robin muttered, looking at the girl questioningly. This is the first time she's met a female carrying the initial. The mystery around it just seemed to continue growing.

"Hm?" Storm glanced in Robin's direction, hearing her mutter under her breath about something. Luffy puffed his cheeks in annoyance at being ignored.

"Storm~" Luffy whined, wrapping his arms around her and lifting her feet from the ground. Starting at the sudden movement, Storm wrapped her arms around Luffy's neck and smashed his head into her chest as her sandaled feet flailed for purchase,

"Put me down, Lu!" All she got was a muffled answer which she assumed was a 'no'. Off to the side, Sanji made a noise akin to a dying animal at the sight of Luffy's face being planted firmly into the chest of a lady. The rest of the crew felt thoroughly out of their element watching the scene unfold. They weren't sure if they should step in and help the screeching girl for either her sake or the sake of their blond crewmate.

Luffy cried out suddenly as Storm managed to get a lucky hit on his head. He dropped her in favor of gripping his head, a large bump already forming in the wake of her hit.

"Ow, ow, ow…"

"You big baby. You're made of rubber. That didn't even actually hurt you."

"Do you see this bump?! It hurts!" All Storm did was roll her eyes at Luffy's dramatics as she straightened her clothes out. Her dark green tank top had started riding up while she was in Luffy's grip. Dusting off her jean shorts, she seemed to remember something.

"Luffy, I actually needed to talk to you about something."

"Huh?"

"Remember when we were little? You promised I'd always have a place with you on your crew. Well I'm cashing in on that promise."

"Really?!" Luffy jumped up excitedly from where he had fallen on the ground. A large smile had taken over his face.

"Wait. What?" Usopp asked, looking between the two siblings. He appeared just as confused as most of the rest of the crew. Zoro, however, appeared almost resigned, while Robin just offered a mysterious smile.

"Storm's joining the crew!" Luffy said with a self-assured nod. He threw an arm back around Storm's shoulders and pulled her close, squishing their cheeks together. She just giggled in response and gave a matching smile.

"Oh no, there's two of them." Nami bemoaned, looking at the matching grins on the siblings.

"Just like that?!" Usopp screeched.

"Isn't that a little too easy, bro?" Franky asked, thinking back to his own experience joining the crew and shuddered. Even just the memory of the incident left him aching in pain.

"Well, I mean Robin technically joined similarly so really it's not that big of a deal."

"Still…" Franky sulked.

"I just gotta grab my things and I'll be ready to go. I can meet you at your ship, if you want." Storm said, removing her face from Luffy's.

"I want to go too! I'll show you where the ship is!" Luffy exclaimed excitedly, practically vibrating.

"No way! Neither you or Zoro are going! You two get lost more than any other idiots I know!" Nami yelled.

"You make it a habit of being around idiots?" Zoro snarked. Nami felt the vein in her head throb in annoyance.

"I'm trapped with a crew full of idiots, you idiot!" She yelled, throwing a fist in Zoro's direction.

"Well we can always send Sanji. He's got a decent sense of direction and he's one of our heavy hitters." Usopp muttered.

"Yeah, but he can't attack a woman to save his life so does that really matter?"

"Fair enough."

Storm kept quiet, watching the crew debate who was going to get sent with her. While she didn't need a babysitter, she understood why they were going to send someone with her. She also understood why it couldn't be her brother. She loved him dearly but directions weren't his strong suit.

"Sanji! You follow Storm to get her things and then lead her back to the ship. The rest of us will head back there and wait for you. Don't take too long and don't cause any trouble. Got it?" Nami ordered with her hands on her hips. Sanji nodded obediently and practically flew across the space to Storm.

"Storm-chan! Allow your prince to escort you!"

"Just Storm is fine. No need for the honorifics." Storm said with a grimace. Turning to give Luffy a nod, she reached out and grabbed Sanji by the elbow, pulling him along.

"Come on, pretty boy. I don't have all day." Flushing at the nickname, Sanji stumbled after her, ignoring the snort that he was sure came from the damn moss headed swordsman.

"So, what exactly do you do on the ship again?" Storm asked, attempting small talk once she let go of the man's elbow. He followed behind her, reminding her almost of a puppy, with a cigarette hanging loosely from his lips.

"I'm the chef. I do my best to keep the captain and the rest of the crew happy, healthy, and full." Humming in understanding, she took a left turn down a nearby alley.

"Must be a hard job, knowing Lu." With a short laugh, the blond responded.

"Well, he certainly doesn't make it easy but my job is never boring." He glanced around at the shabby surroundings of the alley. Slowly, Storm came to a stop in front of a group of wooden planks that were leaning up against a few trash cans. With a look at Sanji that dared him to say anything, she carefully moved the wood aside to show a duffle bag and a metal staff.

"This is it. I don't really carry much from island to island." She made to reach for the duffle bag when Sanji stopped her.

"Please, allow me." Grabbing the duffle bag, he tossed it over his shoulder before she could protest. He made to grab the staff as well but Storm already had a solid grip on it. Bringing the staff to her side, she turned on her heel and began to backtrack her steps out of the alley.

"You know, I'm surprised. I figured you would have mentioned something about me stashing my things in a bunch of garbage and not a nice hotel."

"I'm not one to judge. Everyone on the crew comes from different circumstances and backgrounds. None of us are any better than the other." She felt a smile form on her face at his words.

"That's a relief. I'm glad Luffy found people like you then. I'm not one to treat people differently because of their parents or what not either."

"Then you should fit right in on the crew."

"I hope so."
