100 words drabble style.
She arrived with an aura of confidence. The train of her long black dress dragged behind her as she walked forward without speaking a word, whilst every Death Eater sitting by the long table stared in confusion.
She held her head high and kept her golden brown eyes on his.
There wasn't a single moment of hesitation as his crimson eyes remained on her.
The silence between them as he kissed the growing bump on her belly said all that was needed to be said.
"Lady Granger and our soon-to-be eldest," he introduced.
"Your Lordship, you are blessed."
There were surprised gasps, but no more than they anticipated. She simply obeyed his orders to come out in her best dress and greet his men.
She did so, with her best faux smile she could muster. The fetus inside her was making her stomach churn at every hour of the day.
Still, she was ecstatic and so was he. They were truly both blessed to have found each other.
When she first appeared in front of him in the dark Forbidden Forest without the faintest idea of who she was, neither could have foreseen this moment.
The huge room was filled with murmurs as soon as they stepped out, with his arm around her waist. He was always careful and too attentive. "My darling wife," he kissed her forehead. "How are you and the little one?"
"Exhausted. This dress was very troublesome. And our little one can't seem to stop moving."
"From now on, I will be able to stay home with you two."
"Is that why you had me come out?"
"Yes, dearest. I needed to inform them of my absence. Get some rest. I will see them all out."
His attentiveness was starting to become annoying.
Maybe it was the hormones.
The way he drank his tea irked her.
He was too loud when he slept beside her. His snoring was keeping her and their little one awake.
She cried when he left to use the loo, only to be upset to see his face too soon.
Her glare spoke volumes when he chewed too loudly.
He hugged her from behind and carried her belly with both hands. She cried, not having to feel all the burden.
"Just a few more weeks," he whispered.
"I'm sorry. I love you."
"I'm going to kill you for doing this to me," she said through gritted teeth as she pushed.
It had been hours. Almost ten since her water broke.
"You only lasted minutes and I have to go through months carrying our baby and now hours of pain," she pushed again.
"I'm never doing this again. We're never having sex."
The midwife had to hold back her laughter.
Her husband held her hand and wiped her sweat, all the while smiled as she cursed him.
It was all worth it when their son was born and in her arms.
"Hunter Marvolo Gaunt," he cooed at their baby inside the bassinet by their bed, as he sat on the floor. His tiny hand held on to his father's long finger. "We made him," the corner of his eyes creased when he smiled at his wife.
"We did," she smiled as she laid in bed, completely exhausted and weary. "I didn't mean anything I said earlier."
"I know. I love you, dearest wife"
"I love you, too."
end.
