Ok then ladies and gentlemen Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to another installment of 'The Legend of the Pirate and Monkey Kings' and the reception of it is going great so far, we're only on 2 chapters (not including this one but now adding it) and we're at 26 followers last I checked. That's a quarter of a hundred in some people's eyes but to me, I see growth and actual interest as my crossover story progresses. That many people actually enjoy and are interested for what's to come is awesome and I'm glad that I'm the one to give you that interest.
Now I just hope to keep this train rolling, and hope you stick along for the ride!

No? To cringy? Ok I'll stop.
But In all seriousness I grateful to have a growing community coming like this and I'll be sure to keep posting my story. I've bet some of you has checked out the other stories on this crossover site and perhaps comparing mine to their works, especially the other contender which I have to compete (shout out to Lightning Ash and his story 'A Warrior on the Unkown Seas.')and I'm all for it. It just means I have to be a better writer and story teller if I wanna have you to continue be interested with mine.
Although how both go about are different, there's a clear distinction between which of ours is better but that doesn't mean I can't make mine better. I'll try to write out longer chapters, better vocabulary, or visualization of the world your reading but please give me some honest criticism to help on what you want to read. Not only will it enhance your experience when reading but also help me as a story teller. I want to do good with this and plan to make it even better in the future.
With that out of the way, I'll be going now. See you at the bottom!
After the events against the Alvida Pirates and catapulting their captain to some unknown place in the East Blue. The newly announced pirate captain, Luffy, his right hand man and brother, Goku, and the newly aquatinted cabin boy, Koby, are now sailing across under beautiful open cyan blue skies, on mesmerizing crystal waters, and under a warm basking glow of the sun encompassing their bodies. Koby was thinking about what had happened hours before and how he's finally attained his freedom back from that bitch of a captive slave holder.
'I'm off... I'm actually off and away from them? For the first time in two years I finally talked back...' as he was looking up above him and towards the sky. He then directs his attention to the two people who gave him that sense of confidence 'if I hadn't bump into them when I did, would I still be a cabin boy? Oh who am I kidding, besides, it was a miracle I got to meet them in the first place...'
Goku notice that Koby was looking at them and decided to speak up "what's up Koby? Is something the matter?"
"H-Huh? Oh n-nothing's the matter. I was just making if we were going on the right path. As long as we stay on this heading, we should be at the marine base in no time at all!" With Luffy interjecting into the conversation "wow really Koby! You're great at navigating! You mean we're actually going to reach the place we set out for!"
For the first time ever in two years, the pink haired teen was stunned by what he just heard... he received praise and compliments for his actions. All through his career as the cabin boy for Alvida was he subjugated to ruthless torment and bullying. Every screw up he did or task he failed to complete was he beaten down and thrash about as punishment. Even when he did a good job or out of boredom that the crew still abused him, usually beaten till he can't stand and blood was spilled. His only solace was at night where everyone was asleep, at least then they couldn't hear his cries that he chants and give them another reason to beat on him.
"-Koby you there? Hello, Earth to Koby!" It was then he brought out of his stupor.
"H-huh? Oh yeah, it's nothing really. I'm just using what every marine needs to know really."
"Okay then, so long as you're good." Exclaimed Luffy happily. He then turns to Koby and asks "so what do you think we'll find when we get there?"
"Well apparently, at the marine base their holdings the great Pirate Hunter... Roronoa Zoro! This is a man who's diced up pirates for their bounties like a bloodthirsty beast, he's been called nothing less than a living, breathing demon in human form!"
"Wow really! This is just getting me excited!" Said Goku as he jolts up and begins to think on how powerful this Zoro guy might be. "I wonder how strong this guy will be! And I wonder if he's a good guy too? It'll be fun having him on board," as he rubs his nose with his index finger, looking toward his brother in confirmation "don't you think Luffy?"
"Shishishishi yeah it sure would be!"
"W-what!? What are you thinking right now! You can't fight and recruit people like him! There's a reason why the marines captured him and detained him! And what about all the people that he's cut up and killed for their bounties! No, no, no it's a bad idea to go after someone like him and ha-" Koby was then silenced as a hard fist hit the top of his head, courtesy of Goku.
"Owe! What was that for?" asked Koby as he soothing the lump on his head.
"For being too loud." stated Goku calmly as if hit was an everyday normal thing. Both of their attentions were brought towards Luffy who was currently jumping and rocking their dingy boat.
Luffy jumped for joy, rocking the small boat that he, his first mate and Koby were currently on because at the moment, he was looking through some binoculars that they had 'borrowed' from the Alvida Pirates. "Land ho!" He exclaimed, the source for his excitement becoming clear. Of course, he would have never known where to go if it weren't for Koby. After all, he or his brother didn't know anything about sailing, other than it being really fun!
"Really!? Let me see!" Koby sprung up, taking the binoculars from his friend. He quickly put the lenses up to his glasses and scanned the open sea. When he finally spotted the island in the far distance, he almost dropped the device in his hands. "No way," Koby gasped in disbelief, his mouth slowly turning upwards into a smile. "I-its the marine base in shell town! There's really a marine base there! This is my chance, do you think they'll take me?" as he looks up towards Luffy and Goku.
The rubber man looked at the boy with an odd look on his face. "Why are you asking us? I told you already, it's your dream."
Koby grinned and looked back out at the open ocean, the island nothing but a speck in the background without looking through the binoculars. "Your right," he said, punching his open palm. "Get ready marine base! I'm coming for you! Whatever it takes!" He proclaimed at the top of his lungs.
"Shishishi, that's the spirit!" Luffy complimented, patting his friend on the back.
"Wo-woah!" Koby yelled as he plunged into the water. Luffy's pat on the back coming out more like a slap from his excitement.
"Shishishi!" The rubber man laughed along with his brother at the spectacle while the pinkette grabbed the boat and pulled himself up.
"Haha very funny you two" Koby said sarcastically, taking his shirt off and wringing it out from all the sea water. It was still a ways away from shell town so he decides to let it sit out in the sun, bask in its warmth as to dry itself better.
"WE'RE HERE! THE MARINE BASE CITY!" Exclaimed Luffy quite excitedly at being another part of the East Blue on his pirate adventure. This was very memorable moment for him and Goku, and the thought of getting another crew member is a thrilling experience for him.
Some of the people who were at the port at the time snickered at his remark and even laughed as they thought straw hat was a complete imbecile, but he didn't care about them.
Koby docks their dingy boat at one of the many iron T masts so that it doesn't get swept up by the current. The trio leave the port and head more inland of shell town.
Within the town it has many stands presented like a farmer's market, with not just serving food but also clothing, accessories, and other worth while products. Instead of trying out said products, Koby was instead trying to change the minds of his two new friends from recruiting Zoro.
"Luffy, Goku, seriously! You're out of your mind if y'all wanna have Zoro to join your crew!"
"Well I haven't made up my mind yet, we need to see if he is a good guy first." Explained luffy his judgement call.
"He's a prisoner because he's not one!" Yelled back the pinkette. The notion of someone being good could end up a captive or prisoner was foreign to Koby. Oh if only that was the case.
Goku decides to take an apple from the fruit stand next to him and takes a bite. He flings over a copper at the salesman for his work on the delicious apple and asks the question "Thanks! Hey, is a guy named Zoro around here?"
Then as if a bad stench was released from a skunk, the shop keepers hid behind their stands and backed away as much as possible while all the customers ran away. What could've happened for such a reaction to like that to be necessary? Just what happened here for the name alone to terrify the residents?
"Hey uh, Goku? Maybe we shouldn't mention the name Zoro here, okay?" Commented Koby as to not cause a scene or any unwanted attention, and also not to scare away everyone. The two brothers nod and go up more inland, walking towards the actual navy base.
"Hey, let's go to the base and check it out, you said you wanna be a marine right?" Asked straw hat towards their new friend. "Well of course I do Luffy but I don't think I'm ready just. Besides, from what I've heard the man in charge in this base is captain Morgan!" Once again just like before with Zoro, the market reacted the same way as before. Prompting an incident or event happened between the two for that to happen?
Luffy laughs it off while Goku chuckles through his ginning smile "haha haha, man this town sure is a weird place!" The only skeptic out of the three was the former cabin boy.
"That was odd? I mean I understand if their scared of Zoro, but why would they be scared if I mention the marine captain's name? I don't know you guys... I have a bad feeling about this..."
"You sure they weren't jumping for the fun of it?" Asked Goku as he shifted his muscular arms behind his head.
"How would that make any sense? Why would anyone do that? Maybe we should get some information first before we head to marine base, we could go to one of the local bars here." To which both captain and vice captain's stomach's growl at the mere thought of a delicious feast in front of them.
"Yeah! Let's do that, I'm starved!"
"Yeah! I need some meat! Meat, meat, meat!" Both of them walk even faster as to try and their stomachs filled. 'Jeez these guys have a one track mind.'
Goku suddenly was bumped into by accident. When he looked to see he hit, It was a young, little girl with shoulder-length dark brown hair, tied in two pigtails, and black eyes. She wore a striped turquoise and purple shirt with a white hoodie. She carried a sack in her hands, presumably food, as it had an alluring effect on the two. Koby quickly intervenes and helps the young child back up.
"I'm sorry about that little girl, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Asked the pink haired teen worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that too." As Goku bows his head in forgiveness "please forgive me."
To which the little girl is out Koby's grasp and retorts back "I don't have time for you guys! I need to be somewhere!" And she swiftly scurries Away from the trio and more inland towards the marine base.
"Well that was weird? What's her deal?" Asked Luffy quizzically. "Well whatever, Let's eat! Ooh let's go over there!" As the captain towards a restaurant inn at the corner of the street.
At the bar, Luffy and Goku were going through food like nobody's business. Goku especially mowing through dishes like they were made of air. "Mmm, this sure is some good stuff, right Luffy?"
Luffy responded to his companion back "yeah, this stuff is really good! It almost taste like Makino's cooking!" Koby just sat staring at the pirates and their eating habits. His eyes kept on widening and widening while his mouth gaped even further down as empty plates and empty bowls were being stacked up incredibly high. Not only that, the stack kept getting higher and higher.
"Um… Goku… Luffy… I know I said earlier that I'd pay but…" Coby said as he began to cry with anime tears, "I don't think I can afford this…"
"If you're joining here, then you can start a tab," Luffy deadpanned with his mouth full of another meat roll.
Coby sweat dropped at Luffy's blunt comment. "Uh… yeah…" he said.
After a few minutes of eating, both Captain and Vice Captain were finally done as they patted their full stomachs. Koby paid as much as he could on the food, leaving the rest on a tab to pay for later.
"Man that was good! Wish there could've been more meat though." Said luffy exhausted from scarfing all that food.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the same little girl from before. Only this time, she came back dirty, lots of bruises, and without her sack. "Rika! Oh no are you okay? What did those marines do to you?"
"H-Helmeppo did this to me! That big, dumb jerk is just the worst! If-if it wasn't for me, then he would still be fine and not suffering out there!"
"It's not your fault sweetie, he is just an honorable man is all." Said Rika's mother who also so happened run the restaurant, she grabs a rag and try's her best with wiping off all the possible grime and dirt off her 7 year old daughter. "Rika, go to the back and clean yourself off okay. I'll be there in a bit to help."
"Hey lady, what was that all about?" Questioned Luffy, his mouth full of meat. "Where's your daughter going?"
The woman, not knowing he was listening looked shocked for a moment, before quickly regaining her composure. Not knowing any other way to cope the woman sighed, then explained everything. "You see, about three weeks ago there was a very dangerous man in this bar. To be more precise his name was Pirate Hunter, Roronoa Zoro." Koby's eyes widened at the name. He audibly gulped. But he decided not to interrupt and let the lady finish. The woman continued. "He wasn't causing trouble or anything, he was just eating. The problem didn't start until those scumbag marines came in here. One of them specifically thinks he's all high and mighty just because he's the son of the head of the Marine base, Captain Morgan."
Koby couldn't help it, after hearing that, he spit out his drink. "Roronoa Zoro!? Captain Morgan!? These are some high level guys you're talking about! And where do you get off calling marines scum! Who do you think you are!" Koby reasoned, testing out his newly found confidence.
The woman however did not budge. "Just shut up and listen kid, I'm not done yet. Anyways, Captain Morgan's son comes in and starts causing his usual ruckus. And that's when he sees the Pirate Hunter. That's when, the marine provoked him and they got into a scuffle. Zoro won easily, but after that, the other bastard went for a cheap shot. He told Roronoa he had two options. Either give up and come with him to try to last a month without food or water, or he could execute me and my daughter," she explained, her breathing becoming heavy. "It was very honorable of him to accept the man's challenge and save our lives," the woman finished glumly. Starting to get frustrated again. "It's completely unfair though! He didn't do anything! They propped the poor man up on a wooden stake and left him there to die!"
"No! You're lying! There's no way the marines would do something so corrupt!" Koby defended from his seat, his food long forgotten.
"Tch, you can believe what you want kid. But ask anyone, it's no secret that at least in this town, the marines are pieces of shit," she finished. Taking their finished plates and walking away to the back room.
Koby couldn't believe his ears. He was too stunned to even consider that his precious marines could be corrupt. He looked over at his friend, who had been unusually silent through all of this. Luffy and Goku were silent and contemplating about the situation however the most prominent emotion right now was RAGE. unhindered, relentless, unfaltering RAGE. Why doesn't the coward step up to the plate and be a man and fight himself.
Then the guy they least wanted to see walked in through the door along with two of personal but also silent bodyguards from the marines. The guy named Helmeppo was a skinny and lanky-looking young man with light blond hair shaped like a sideways oval on top of his head. He also has a cleft chin. Donning a violet colored uniform, dark violet pants with white shoes and a rubber band ring on his left hand. He truly was the epitome of a douchebag.
Claiming a spot by one of the tables near the entrance of the bar, Helmeppo starts boasting his position as the son of captain Morgan by planting his on top of the table and on some freshly picked fruit. He then demands from the waitress "I'm hungry! Bring whatever you got and keep the check for yourself!"
The two guards behind him were silent about the whole ordeal, just what was their position in all of this? Weren't the marines supposed to be the good guys? Protect the people from evil and criminal scum like pirates? So why did they protect a legal authoritarian douche bag like Helmeppo while he steals from the citizens and even their lives! Many more thoughts like this were running through their minds and how they sully the name of 'Navy soldier.'
"Hahahahaha! And while you're at it, bring me some of your finest moonshine or whatever crap you serve. And put some speed into it lady I don't have all day!" Exclaimed the son Morgan very demandingly "Man I've been getting bored out of my mind lately, I suppose I could execute Zoro!"
Goku turned a bit wide-eyed and clenched his fist at what he just heard. "What!" he yelled at Helmeppo's prevaricator claim.
"What about your promise to him?" Luffy asked. "Didn't you say you were going to give him one month?!"
Helmeppo just laughed. "That idiot was stupid for believing it!" Luffy and Goku started to get angry; this blond scrawny lad made a promise to the Pirate Hunter and he intended to break it. Goku was about to make his move before seeing that Luffy had already started as he punched Helmeppo in the face, knocking the scrawny blond lad off his mighty chair and onto the floor. Everyone in the restaurant gasped in shock.
"No one's ever punched me!" Helmeppo screamed. "Besides, do you have a death wish?! Picking a fight with me is like picking a fight with the Marines!"
"I don't care!" Luffy declared as Koby was trying to hold the straw hat pirate back from hurting Helmeppo even further. "Besides, we are pirates! And Zoro is joining my crew!" Everyone in the restaurant gasped even further at the straw hat pirate's declaration.
"You'll care after my marine bodyguards kill your stupid ass! Ok boys, sick him!" Helmeppo look to them and gave the order, however his guards just jolts up and slump down to the ground as they were knocked unconscious by the straw hats vice captain by a chop to their spinal cervical nerve, but just light enough to where they won't die. At this point Helmeppo loses his mind as he was defenseless and outnumbered to do anything, not to mention the fact that the straw hat kid's punch was a strong one.
"Go ahead and run." Luffy gruffed out towards the coward on the floor in front of him.
D-Did he hear that right? Is he letting him go? But why wo-
"Go ahead and run away to your dad. We don't care if we have to fight him or a hundred more like him. We'll still win, no matter what!" Yelled out the captain of the Straw Hats. Without a second thought he takes Luffy's advice and books it out from the bar, leaving his subordinates behind left to die for all he care, so long as he lives. Luffy looks over to his brother and with a nod of Goku's head, both of them left as well and sprinted towards the marine base in the middle of the island.
Corruption.
That word has many forms presented around the world. Business CEO managers have a monopoly of sorts, leaving every other business high and dry. World leaders rule with an iron fist, killing all who oppose or is deemed a threat to their rule. Or military generals bringing chaos to the innocent who are simply in the cross-fire of battle and war.
Corruption and its many interpretations, iterations, and world-wide abundance in society is without a doubt, Evil. Turning what was probably good intentions into chaos and havoc.
And it's the best word to describe the navy captain of Shell's Town. Captain Axe hand Morgan.
Morgan is a notably tall, muscular man with tanned skin, blonde hair, and a steel jaw etched with the word Möwe. As his epithet suggests, his right hand has been replaced with a huge steel axe, the handle of which is not only bolted through the bones of his forearm, but sticks out where his elbow should be.
Like most Marine officers, he wears a large, ornate overcoat. However, this coat notably lacks the usual "Justice" insignia, and is completely sleeveless; it is also worn conventionally, instead of being draped over the shoulders like a cape. His trousers bear a striped pattern reminiscent of Marine Bases and battleships.
Right now, he was currently scoping out the view from his large glass pane window in his office of the island. It shows the courtyard where the infamous pirate hunter is being held, the gravel road leading to and from shells town, and a certain extent of shell's town itself. He blows out a puff of smoke from his cigar as a knock was heard from his quarters door.
The individual comes in with a marine outfit with a couple of distinct features being added on such as a couple of medals and a couple extra stripes on his shoulders, a lieutenant named Osborn. "Captain Morgan, we have rallied up the rest of this month's taxes as you said. Is there any further orders?"
"I AM GREAT."
Wha-what? How was Osborn supposed to respond? If he doesn't want to be chopped up then he'll have to agree, no one disagrees against Morgan and lives to tell about it. "Y-Yes sir, you are correct captain Morgan sir."
"And yet the taxes we collect don't even compare to my sheer degree of greatness."
"Yes you're right sir, I guess that the citizens wallets aren't that very deep nowadays sir." Explains Osborn still saluting to his superior.
"The issue at hand here" said Morgan as he turns away from his window and faces the lieutenant he's addressing "is the level of respect for me. Wouldn't you agree?" The double doors burst open to reveal a very distraught Helmeppo who was cuddling his cheek where he was punched. "Daddy! There's someone I want you to kill this instant! And I want it done now!"
Morgan barely reacts to his son's request and gets up from his seat. He sauntered over through the double doors and down the hallway which Helmeppo came from.
Luffy, Goku, and Koby were sprinting down the gravel trail leading up to the marine base, where the infamous pirate hunter was being held. Being the more athletic of the two, Goku runs ahead to see the condition of Zoro. Goku jumped and looked over the fence to see ahead. "Oi! I see a guy over there!" he said to his friends as he ran ahead. Luffy ran behind the spikey haired pirate, with Coby following close behind. All three jumped up a wall and saw something or better yet, someone. On the other side of the wall, the trio saw a man being held on a post. He was tied around this post as if he were being crucified.
The one on the post seen to them was a 19 year old man dressed in a plain white shirt with three undone buttons at the collar. He also wore black trousers tucked inside black boots as well as a green haramaki around his waist and had three long identical earrings on his left ear. However, what was most interesting feature was his cropped green hair that was hidden underneath a black bandanna that was tied around his head. "Th-Th-The bandanna… the haramaki… the intimidating aura… that's Roronoa Zoro!" cried Koby.
After hearing their confirmation of who the man was, without a moment's hesitation, both captain and vice captain of their undeclared name vault over the fence and quickly sprinted towards the captured pirate hunter. Zoro looks up to see two people running over to him, but he didn't know who they were… or their intentions…
"Hiyah, Im Monkey D. Luffy. And this guy here is my brother, Goku! And we're going to free you!"
...ok that at least answered their intentions. But why would they come and rescue him when they don't even know each other. What benefit would they have for freeing him? To be fair, he wouldn't mind being let out early, but that might cause that kid and her mother to die. He can't allow that to happen. "Hey you two dumbasses! Just leave here and get out! You're only going to make it worse! Do you have a death wish or something?"
Then Koby catches up with the two, after he catches his breath, Koby explains the situation to the crucified man. "Wait hold on! We came here to help you because Helmeppo was about to break your agreement! He was going to kill you out of sheer pleasure and boredom!"
"Are you serious?" Asked the bewildered hunter, which Koby confirms with a nod of his head.
"And that's why I'm here" stated Luffy to his potentially new crew mate "once I loosen your ropes, you will join my crew, okay?"
"What! Look kid, I'm not interested in becoming a pirate!" Zoro stated. "I have things that I need to do. I'm not going to become the scum bags I collect bounties off of just because you freed me."
"What's the difference?" This time Goku questioned. "Everyone already thinks you're a bad guy. I hear that they call you aDemon in human form ."
"Hmph, I couldn't give two shits what they say about me," Zoro responded to his unclaimed epithet. "I haven't done one thing that we would regret in the past and will be the same for the future. I live only for my dreams, I won't and ever will be a pirate."
"I don't care! You're going to join me and Goku!"
"Don't decide for yourself, asshole!" barked the Pirate Hunter.
"Hey," Luffy said, completely ignoring his rant and changing the topic, "I heard that you use swords. And is a really great swordsmen, right?"
"Of course," scoffed Zoro. "I'm one of the greatest swordsmen."
"Where are they?" Asked Goku
"That bastard son took it from me," Piccolo stated. "As swordsmen, it is one thing that I treasure above all others, even my life. My dream is to one day be the greatest swordsmen in the world! So great that the Heaven's above will know my name!"
"Okay! I'm gonna go to where the bastard kid is and get your swords back," Luffy stated. "But… if you want me to return them to you, you will have to join my crew."
"THAT'S DIRTY!" shouted the angry swordsmen.
"Okay! I'm going!" Luffy shouted before he ran towards the Marine Base to look for the Pirate Hunter's swords, completely ignoring his previous protest.
"Is he really planning on sneaking into the base?" Zoro questioned out loud. "He doesn't seem to be the type to sneak around. What a fool!"
"Gum Gum Rocket!" Shouted Luffy as his arms extended out and grappled to a piece of metal fencing. He shoots out towards one of the many windows of the base and busts through with no damage befalling him.
The cat burglar grunted as she closed the door to yet another empty room. 'Ugh, that's like the fifth one in a row! How can the Navy be this broke!' The woman thought angrily, running down the hallway searching for another room.
Before long she spotted a double doored entrance, it was bigger than all the others and had fancier doors. 'Bingo! This one will definitely have some-' but her thoughts were interrupted by said double doors being smashed to pieces. The straw hat kid from Alvida's ship came flying through the entrance and landed head first onto the ground in the hallway.
She couldn't believe her eyes. Seeing him answered some questions in her head, but also made new ones spring up. She quickly jumped to one side of the hallway and hugged the wall. It didn't look like she had been spotted yet. The orange haired teen watched as the boy stood up and dusted himself off like he had only fallen over.
"Aww man, I flew too far," she heard him say. He adjusted his hat before slowly making his way into the room she was planning on clearing. She decided to slowly approach the room. 'I swear if he robs the place before me,' she thought angrily, now close enough to hear inside the room. "Ahh there they are!" The boy exclaimed before a brief pause. "Oh well, I better take all three, just in case," She heard the teen mutter. When she heard more movement she gathered her wits and peeked around the corner. The orange haired teen looked up just in time to see the straw hat man climb up to the broken window and jump out. 'W-what? We're on the second floor! Is he crazy!?' She thought as she ran over to the place the raven haired boy jumped from. She scanned the ground and spotted him instantly. He was running towards the execution grounds, and in a hurry it looked like. But that wasn't what got her attention. She smiled almost devilishly when she saw Captain Morgan and a battalion of marines march after the spiky hair guy and some others.
'Oh man and he looks pretty cute too' she thought sadly 'oh well, gotta hand it to you kid, this is the second time you've helped me out. If Morgan is down there... I know where he wont be.' She finished her thought, grinning evilly. Turning around, the woman bolted out of the office and up the closest stairs. She almost felt bad for the guy, he escaped Alvida only to be slaughtered by Morgan. I need to get to the top floor, that's where Morgan's office would be.
"Alright I'm going to untie you and get you free while Luffy grabs your sword." Said Goku as he breaks apart the tightly confined ropes holding Zoro with ease using his strength alone. Zoro tries to stand up quickly but is quite shaky as he hasn't stood up in weeks. Koby grabs ahold of him as support until he gets feeling in his legs again.
"Why?" Asked the withered and meek Zoro still holding onto Koby.
"Hmmm? Why what?" Asked Goku
"Why are you guys doing this? Why are you going so far to help me, a stranger and possible enemy, from the marines and risking your lives?"
Too which Goku just simply puts a grin like Zoro has never seen, it was so genuine. Seeing Goku's white teeth flash to him for his reassurance "do I really need a reason to help good people?"
"Wh-what?"
"I may be a pirate in your eyes, but I'm a martial artist. I travel so that I can fight strong people, pirates and marines alike. The fact is, it's cause I'm usually trying to challenge the strongest warriors I can find. But somehow the innocent get mixed up, too. I can't bear the thought of innocent lives getting wiped out just cause I wanna fight the best. So, I'll do what I can for them. Although you were already caught, you did it for a good reason, so I'll help you." Explain the vice captain to his potentially new crew member.
Zoro didn't know what to say, he wasn't the overtly sensitive type and gush out his emotions, but he did find a new found respect for these two. This guy… no… Hoku if he remembered, said every single word without hesitation and genuine conviction behind those words. And from the looks of it, his brother might be the same. Liffy was it? Or was it Huffy?
He can get to know them later, however as it stands, he's already made up his mind "ok I'll ta-"
"END OF THE LINE!"
Everyone at the square looks towards where the deep voice came from, only to see Captain Morgan, his son, and a squad of riflemen at the ready, muskets and all. The marines already had Locked onto the three individuals, with seemingly no way out. "For the crime of treason against the great and generous Captain Axe Hand Morgan, I sentence you to execution by rifles." They lock onto the traitorous trio and are about to fire their muskets at them.
"You've been pulling some interesting moves around here, Roronoa Zoro. What is this? Some kind of poorly executed coup you planned with the straw hat?" Shouted Morgan at the three
"I've always and will always fight alone, like a real man should! Not like a coward who sits behind a wall of expendable cronies." Retorted back Zoro.
"Hahahaha, you've got quite a mouth there, Roronoa Zoro. Don't you dare underestimate me. You may be a strong swordsman, but without them you're nothing! And especially under my authority you're just a rat we throw out into the trash. Take aim and get ready to fire!" Commanded the captain. Zoro and especially Koby look on in fear as their lives might be at the end of the road for them. Then a small chuckle was heard from Goku with anticipation of what's to come.
"Hmmm? What's so funny you traitor." Beckoned the marine captain.
"Oh nothing really, although you're going to need more than some guns to bring us down." Stated the monkey tailed vice captain with glee. He looks with confidence against the advertisers in front of him.
"Don't mind him marines," said Captain Morgan "he's just lost his mind as he's about to die. Now fire!" And with the order delivered, the rounds from there muskets were shot towards the trio.
'This is it… am I going to have it end like this?' Thought Zoro within his mind, trying to scramble a way outgrow his situation. Unfortunately there was none. He decides to let it be and closes his eyes, awaiting to succumb to his fate, a dead man walking. unexpectedly, he felt nothing wrong. He opens his eyes to see a body was thrown in the middle of them, soaking up all the bullets that was meant for the trio.
That body was none other than Luffy. The bullets hit Luffy, but it didn't kill him. Instead, they bounced off of him as if he were a balloon! Due to them being bounced back, the bullets were sent back their original direction, nearly missing the Marines. Koby almost fainted, and Zoro's mouth was hanging open while Goku was just laughing hysterically.
"You two look like dead fish," Goku snorted at the reaction of his new friends. Luffy walks over to Zoro and hands him all three swords since he didn't know which one was his "I told you we were going to be fine. We can handle the situation. Plus I didn't know what sword was yours so I grabbed all three."
"All three of them are mine," Zoro simply said as he grabbed the three swords. "I practice Santoryu, the three swords style."
"Santoryu?" Goku and Luffy asked quizzically.
Meanwhile, the Marines were trembling in fear at what just happened. "Th-that straw hat guy couldn't be shot," muttered one of the Marines in utter shock. "You imbeciles! If he can't be shot, then cut him!" Captain Morgan commanded. Once they had heard their leader say that, most of the Marines got back their courage and turned towards the pirate group. Soon, the Marines had started to run towards the group.
This time, Goku steps up to the plate. His money tail standing up and pronounced, probably from the excitement of fighting for a while. He props himself in a fighting stance where his right arm is bent upward with this hand seemingly holding up two fingers, while his left arm tucked against his side toward his torso. With one word uttered from Goku "shave" and he disappears from sight of everyone… all except from Luffy. Luffy had a big smile on his face and relaxed his body as he knew what Goku was already doing. The marines stop in their tracks to find where the monkey man went only for them to start dropping one by one like flies to an electric lamp.
Goku appears to them again not long after the marines fell. Although the marines might be a decent warmup, they were in no way able to quench his thirst for battle. Captain Morgan, lieutenant Osborn, and a couple of marines not in the charge are astounded by what they witnessed, a lowly pirate like himself was able to learn the Rokushiki powers and display it casually. Just who the hell are they!
"That was too easy," Goku said with a bit of disappointment in his voice, hoping to get in a good fight. Then Captain Morgan shouts at the traitors "Hey! Just who the hell are you bastards! A devil fruit user and user of the Rokushiki together is complete asinine! Where did you get them!"
"I got my devil fruit from a buddy of mine named shanks." Stated luffy cheerfully.
"And I learned this from my grandpa, Gohan. Also, I have a devil fruit as well, just didn't show it yet." Explained Goku with his arms behind his head and plastering a cheeky son grin.
"Is that so? Well," said Morgan as he takes off his coat so he can better fight properly "it doesn't matter what you are. You're still nothing compared to me! I, Captain Axe Hand Morgan will bring you to justice, along with these marines for disobeying my orders!"
"Wh-what? But why! They did nothing wrong here! Why would you kill your own men!" Asked a shocked Goku.
"My men are weak to even handle simple scum like you, and under my command! That's the same punishment as death itself. And people like you, without status, have no right to oppose me!" shouted the Marine captain.
Goku was fed up with this guy and how he treats his own men under his command, nothing like how grandpa Gohan was when he was in the marines. "Luffy, let me take care of him."
Luffy understood the reasoning for his brother's statement and let him do his thing "shishishi, Sure thing bro. But make sure to do it quickly, I'm starving again."
"No problem Captain." Said Goku as he gets into his fighting stance once again. Morgan charges at his opponent with the intent to kill. Swinging from a broad stance with his battle axe, Goku got up close and personal and gut punched Morgan, causing him to lose the air out. Not wanting to lose this opportunity, Goku quickly followed up with a hard uppercut to his metal implanted jaw, causing some of the metal to actually be chipped away from the impact. He was sent flying back across the courtyard and landed back first on the hard dirt surface.
Morgan tries to recover but the fall and his two hits alone had some serious power behind them. Breathing hard and on one knee, he looks to see Goku walking towards him completely fine "you seem to take delight in ruling over those below you. And treat your men like a disposable commodity," Said Goku as he was now in front of Morgan "well now it's your turn to feel what they had to go through." And delivers a hard left hook to Morgan's face but is blocked by the flat end of his Axe. The two are in a stand still for dominance on who can out power the other.
Goku ducks under the axe and gets in personal again by grabs ahold of Morgan's face and brings it down to his knee. A line of blood starts to leak from his broken nose and screams in pain and anguish from the hard hit. Koby, Zoro and especially Morgan couldn't believe what was going on. The two spectators were gawking at the sight of how Goku was man-handling him like an amerture.
Morgan grits through the pain and side swipes with his axe at Goku only for him to utter a word before catching the metal object "Tekkai." The giant axe is stopped dead in its tracks and Goku delivers another strong gut punch, then another punch, and then another. Throwing a volley of punches without Morgan having a chance to counter. Goku finish's their bout by a strong high kick to his left cheek and knocking out the corrupt captain.
Once he fell on the ground, completely limp, the lieutenant and marines baffled everyone and cuffed their former captain. Once the cuffs were securely on his wrists, every government soldier erupted into cheers. "We're finally free!"
"We're saved!"
"Thank the gods!"
Everyone was shocked about the outcome. Weren't they, you know, supposed to help their fallen Captain and avenge their fallen soldiers or something? Why were they handcuffing him?
Next he looked to the group who had liberated them. "As for you pirates… get out of here. Thank you for saving us from this monster, but the law says we have to capture you and detain you. However the story goes that you escaped capture, so go!"
Luffy was about to do just that, until he remembered something. He turned to his group and stared at Koby, doing his best to look angry. The rubber man knew what had to be done. Without a moment's notice he ran up to the boy, pulling back his right arm and delivering a harsh blow to the boy's eye. "Did you really think you could fool me!? You government loving bastard!"
Before he knew it Koby was on the floor holding his face, completely stunned. Luffy was his friend, why would he punch him!? As his anger boiled the pinkette quickly got to his feet and retaliated, thrusting his own fist upon the rubber man's squishy face. However, the second his attack connected, all of the boy's confidence left him. Regretting his actions instantly, Koby shrank down under Luffy's stare as the teen lifted his fist once again.
"Alright, alright break it up!" The lieutenant exclaimed before grabbing the raven haired teen's arm. "Leave the poor kid alone and get out of here. Go, before I change my mind."
Luffy shook his arm from the officer's grip, giving his friend one last look before walking towards the wall that seperated the village and the base, Zoro and Goku following close behind.
Koby stared at his friend's back as he nonchalantly walked away. Suddenly his eyes widened. 'Did he?' The boy shook his thoughts away and faced the lieutenant. Throwing away all of his hesitation, he proclaimed his dream. "Sir!" He started, standing at attention and saluting. "Please let me enlist! I want to be a marine!"
Luffy smiled as he jumped over the wall. That was all he needed to hear.
'Thank you for everything Luffy, I will never forget you! I hope we meet again someday!'
Ok guys that's the end of that chapter for my new story retelling and is in the history books. By the ways you guys, hope y'all had an amazing thanksgiving with your family, had good food, and enjoyed your time with each other. I know their might be some family members who you don't always get along with, such as in my own with my uncle, that it didn't ruin your time. But besides that, what did you think of it?
What did you like about it, what didn't you like about it, what are some things I could do better? Go ahead and post your thoughts in the reviews or you can PM online and have a discussion that way as well.
Speaking of reviews, let's see them:
gokusaiyagod: yeah I've been thinking about one of them for a bit but I think I have a general sense of the pairings. Just note that the pairings won't happen until way later down the story like around thriller bark or something like that and that's because I want it to seem genuine and real.
dperson3569: yeah I don't think anyone else was expecting that to be his outfit. while I do like the orange outfit he's usually remembered for, I wanted to back where it all started. But that doesn't mean we won't see it down the road! (Maybe after Alabaster cough* cough*)
Dbz fan: Ok then wow, thanks for your post as I know you're interested and makes me adore these sort of posts. Let's try to break this down one by one.
while I'm not sure if I'm going to incorporate the transformations of 1-4 and god transformations, I have a way of maybe incorporating kaio-ken in a way that would make sense and actually even ultra instinct if you're cool with that! (Thank god for Haki and Katakuri) of course they'll have to be scaled down a bit otherwise goku solos hardcore.
Of course I'm going to have the crew reaction to his transformations of super saiyan if I incorporate them. Ooooh especially his lover when anger and pain is usually the catalyst for such a trigger. Makes me excited just thinking about it and writing it out. Nami or Robin is watching Goku go berserk and almost beating Doflamingo for instance into submission and near death, knowing this isn't his normal self and how much anger is within him and the pain he's going through after seeing idk sabo die I guess. Especially after getting to know him for a while and seeing him get this angry is really rare for him. But he gets to such a rage is unfathomable to them and how much pain and turmoil he's going through. Ugh I'm getting excited about that.
Sesshoru: ok I got gotcha on that but I don't know if I wanna incorporate her, guess we'll see when it comes to that point.
Ok that's all for the reviews. Huh? I was expecting a bit more but oh well. Guess it comes with the territory. Man I still have so much more to say, but I think I'll end it here for now. Got any questions? Ask in the reviews and I'll answer within the next chapter. And with that, bye guys!
