Ok ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another installment of 'The Legend of the Pirate and Monkey Kings' and so far traction and positivity is going well and I wanna say thanks for all your support on this story. I will continue to do this so don't expect it to end so soon.
Other than that, let's continue with the story!
"Hey, who are you guys?" Asked a bewildered, young Vice Captain as his gaze shifted between the tangerine orange hair girl on his left and a couple beefy pirates on his right. Goku dusts off the derby from his impact and asks "so uh, is someone gonna tell me?"
Did this seriously happen? Did some cute guy fall from the sky and survived, much less didn't take any sort of damage from the way he's moving. This was happening way too fast for Nami as she looked closely at the new person. 'Wait a second, he looks familiar? That hair and body is the same as… that… guy at shells town… no way! Did he really escape that Morgan guy!' Thought the burglar. Then a brilliant plan instantly came to her with this new development. If this same guy was to be able escape from a marine captain, then she can use him as her scapegoat.
Nami puts on a face of distress and hurry's over to Goku "Captain!" She grabbed Goku's arm, batting her eyelashes at him. "I'm so glad I found you! These men were trying to kill me! Could you take care of them?"
"Huh? Who are you?" The newly arrived vice captain questioned.
"Thanks, Captain!" The woman scampered away, fully expecting the men to kill the needlessly dead but dim pirate.
"Hey, that bitch is running off with our map!" Said one of the pirates now in front of Goku. The pirates getting ready to butcher the kid.
"That's ok, we've got her boss here now." Responded another to the plight of the first one. "Tryin' to cover for your crony, huh? You should've let her defend for herself. In this world it's kill or be killed, your chivalry crap won't save you here." As the trio of pirates got ready with their cutlasses.
However Goku simply ignored the pirates threat and warning, asking them nonchalantly and with a cheeky face "say is there a good place to eat around here? I'm starved." To which the trio didn't appreciate the bravado and care-freeness of his attitude. Was the kid seriously asking to die right now?
The three jumped the seemingly inexperienced fighter and raised their swords high, ready to strike him down. However Goku saw this and reacted faster, closing the distance between himself and the pirate in the middle. He dodges a swing and keeping his right palm open, like a spear Goku thrusts the heel of his right hand to the pirates chin, rattling the pirates skull and causing any cerebral damage. He finishes it off by thrusting his left hand and bringing the pirate to the hard cement.
"Bastard!" The other two yell they swiped at Goku but to also miss. The martial artist's legs sweep the one on the right, cocking his arm back and punches straight down to the pirates nose and temple, knocking him out. Leaving only one left. Goku quickly elbows the pirates gut and the back hits the last one, knocking him over to one of the many nearby walls, leaving a small indention on the wall on one of the many buildings.
From one of the rooftops of the deserted town, Nami witnessed the entire scenario. After leaving Goku by himself, she went to a nearby alley and climbed a couple of stacked boxes to reach the rooftop. 'Oh wow?' To say she was impressed was a good description for what she saw. She calls out for Goku's attention down below "hey there! You're really strong!" To which the monkey man looks up to where the compliment was said.
The orange haired thief jumped down onto the second story balcony of her building and says "you were able to beat some people with sabers even though you're barehanded."
"Yeah, and you're the girl who set me up. Just who are you?"
"Well I'm a talented thief who steals strictly from pirates. The names Nami by the way! Hey, wanna team up with me!" Eagerly said Nami to Goku, to which he found her to be a bit needy for a person he just met.
Goku shrugged off the request by saying "no thanks anyway lady but I think I'll pass on teaming up with you. I've got my own crew to go to." As the vice captain starts walking off. Nami follows in pursuit of her new form of gathering berries "wait, hold on! At least think about it first!" To which a sizable grumbling can be heard to both Goku and Nami. The cat burglar was frightened and got close to her new acquaintance "woah hey, what was that!"
The martial artist just laughs it off to which this was a normal accurace with him. "Sorry about that," he says innocently at his new friend, and points towards his stomach "but that was me, I'm pretty hungry. Last I had a decent meal was back at shell town." Said Goku as his tail sways from side to side behind his back. This gave the orange haired teenager the bait she needed.
"Look, you're obviously hungry," Nami observed. "I can help you find something to eat, and maybe you'll reconsider teaming up."
"Well… I guess I can't say no to a free meal," Goku agreed.
"Alright, come on then!" Nami grabbed his hand and pulled him off through the deserted town in search of food.
On the roof of the Drinker's Pub, the flag of Buggy the Clown was flying. The skull and crossbones had a big red nose and crosses of eye makeup on the eye holes, making it look like a clown. Down on the roof, a random pirate in a circus outfit shouted. "The bird has been shot down. We are sending men to retrieve the corpse to use it as part of our feast just as you ordered."
"Good," Buggy the Clown smiled menacingly within the dark shades of the tent obscuring any of his facial features. "It should have known what was going to happen, trying to be flashier than me with all those pink feathers. Bwaahahahaha! Now men let's-"
"Captain Buggy!"
"Who do you think you are, flashily cutting me off! That's punishable by flashy death by Buggy Ball!"
The lone pirate footman screamed and shut his eyes by the abrupt statement, before he was executed, he quickly says "but captain! I have news with that thief!"
"Then what the hell are you just standing there, speak up already!" Jeez, didn't he hear of patients or courtesy before? Either way he doesn't want to die just yet "w-well ca-captain. The guys you sent were spotted knocked out… they're being dragged here right now…" Buggy's hand shot away from his wrist and locked around the crewmember's neck.
"What did you say?" Buggy questioned in an eerily calm voice.
"They were knocked unconscious sir! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" Buggy dropped the pirate who curled up on the ground and took great heaving breaths.
"MEN!" the clown pirate roared. "FIND THAT WOMAN AND THE MAP! AND BRING ME THE FOOLS WHO LOST IT IN A CAGE! WE'LL HAVE A FLASHY EXECUTION!"
"YES SIR!"
"Hold it right there!" Said a feminine voice from the crowd of men on the rooftop. Some pushback and shoving was happening until the duo of the thief with orange hair and a tied up accomplice reach the front of the crowd to face Buggy, face to face. "What have we here?" Buggy the Clown questioned. Before him stood the woman who had stolen his stolen map of the Grand Line, said map clutched in her hand, and a black, spiky-haired boy tied up with rope. The person looked eerily familiar to Buggy though, soon connecting the dots and his face contorting to that of fear and shock. 'wh-what the hell is Bardock doing in the East? No wait a minute, he looks like him but isn't Bardock, his skin is lighter and doesn't have his scar on his cheek. Plus he looks younger so that could only come to one thing…'
"I'm tired of working for this guy," the girl answered, giving the spiky haired boy a hard shove that caused him to fall on his face. "He's childish, immature, and treats the world like it's a game. I want to work for you instead."
"Really now?" Buggy's facial expression was unreadable. "What do you call yourself?"
"I'm Nami."
"Well…" Captain Buggy comes out from the shadows of his tent and presents himself. He is a slim blue-haired man with an appearance resembling that of a clown, as to mirror his epithet. The big, red nose on his face is, in fact, his real nose. Buggy's face is always covered with make up, just like a clown.
attire, he dons a striped white and red shirt with short sleeves, white gloves reminiscent of the ones worn by clowns, a sash around his waist like many other pirates, and a pair of loose pants reaching to his calves, just above a pair of striped socks and pointy shoes. He also has a scarf around his neck. Hanging from his shoulders there is an orange, fur-lined captain's coat. On his head he has an orange hat with his jolly roger on it, over a neckerchief with the same pattern of his shirt. While in the manga his scarf and sash are orange just like many other components of his attire, his pants are light-brown and the epaulets of his coat are simply gold. His entire demeanor changed from an intimidating force to goofy nature fool "I guess this calls for a celebration to welcome our new member Nami!"
Luffy took the lead walking ahead as Zoro finished tying up the boat. They had just docked at a new, unknown village. The rubber man stopped walking for a moment to look at the sign in front of him. "Orange town," He read. Pretty soon though, as if it were waiting for an opportunity like this, Luffy's stomach gave a huge bellow. The boy slumped his posture slightly, holding his stomach and gesturing to his crewmate. "Zoro let's go! Need food!"
"Just wait a minute," the former pirate hunter barked. "I've gotta make sure no one steals this damn boat. It may not be much, but it's all we have."
The captain glanced around the empty town. "Where is everybody?" He said towards his first mate as he walked in
"What an empty town," Zoro observed, following close behind Luffy and ready holding onto the handle of his wado ichimonji "I don't see anyone around here." Little did Zoro know, the answer to his question was about to become very clear. As the two continued walking, they turned one final corner and found themselves in the town square. "Is the circus in town or something?" The green haired man asked his Captain, clearly confused by the odd looking tent on top of a pub roof in the middle of the town square.
"Hey, maybe Goku landed there. Let's check it out!" Shouted Luffy as he started sprinting towards the pub roof "damn idiot wait for me, you're probably going for the food." Said Zoro as he quickly followed his Captain.
What happened earlier
The two partners of Goku and Nami entered a two storied house with some fine decorations placed on display, wherever he was at,the people seemed well off. A glass chandelier with four almost wax less candles on each pointed, it seemed it hasn't been replaced in days. The wooden carvings and architecture was very well crafted, but the martial artist noticed some dust accumulating when he touched one of the living room desktops. Wherever he was at, it looks like it was just abandoned on the spot… or maybe Nami doesn't know how to clean up very well.
All thoughts of what was going on vanished without a moment's hesitation when his eyes laid on the spread of food on the kitchen table for him. From lobster and oysters to bread and pasta was on full display for him, although the question of where it came from was on his mind, the hunger overtook him and feasted on the buffet. Maybe Nambi made some extra food by accident was the conclusion he came to.
"So uh, I never got your name by the way? Mind telling me it?" Asked the navigator as she sat by the window sill next to them, although she'd rather vomit out the window than watch him because of his eating habits. "Yah shur- es Goku." Said the monkey man with food in his mouth.
"Geez eat without food in your mouth! It's disgusting! Anyone ever taught you manners?" Exclaimed Nami, quite annoyed by his lack of manners. Gokuquickly swallowed any portions of food in his mouth and drank a glass of water. "Sorry about that, I got so caught up on this delicious food I forgot about them. But to answer your question, my name is Goku, Son D Goku."
"Do you always eat like that in front of your parents?"
"My parents?" Confusingly Said Goku at the question as he never knew his biological parents before. "I've never known my parents before, grandpa never told me anything about them. Whenever I asked he just said that they're 'very bad people' and avoids it." Said Goku as he looks at her with a bewildered expression.
'Good job Nami. Now you probably brought up a sensitive topic for him.' She thought but she looked at him to see the same confused face as before, like he doesn't care about the topic of his parents. 'Well at least he doesn't mind it.'
"So anyways Goku, why were you falling from the sky before? And how come you don't have any scratches from the fall, let alone get up from it and walk it off? And those crazy moves you did on the pirates? What was that?" Asked the burglar curiously as to how he got his moves, that way she can make a plan on how to get more berries using him.
"Well that was my fighting style, I'm a martial artist. That was known as the 'Turtle Hermit style' and it's a mixed martial arts of different styles combined together such as Lethwei, Karate, Jeet Kune Do, and extreme physical training sessions! I want to work past my limits and create new one!" Excitingly said Goku as his vigor and tenacity about his training always gets him pumped up. To reach a new found power and striving to get stronger was a driving force for his personality. However this only confused Nami on everything he just said.
"Oh yeah I see," she said trying to play it off like she knew what he was talking about "so long have you been doing this?"
Goku thought about when Gohan actually started his training "if I had to give an estimate, I'd probably say about fourteen years. Starting my training at the age of four." He stated calmly.
"For that long! Jeez with that kind of experience you must be a master!" Nami exclaimed as she looked at her spiky haired aquatints. But Goku didn't share that sentiment as her "actually I'm still far from becoming a master, there is still so much for me to learn. I've always been told that there will always be someone stronger with each fight, so I train." (Honestly I plan on revisiting this line because I forgot the original line to it or how it goes but if you know, please share in the reviews. I also plan on redoing Goku's anger for Gohan in ch 4 but did that as a placeholder until I redo it.)
At least she can get behind that type of mentality, always trying to better yourself so you can protect those close to you. A grumbling sound was heard from Goku and Nami took it upon herself to go over to the next house "still hungry huh? Don't worry I'll be back, let me go over to the next house and get their stuff."
"So wait, this isn't your house?" Asked Goku with a questionable look.
"No. All of the people in the town have left because they're scared of Captain Buggy and his pirates," Nami explained. "The town is practically deserted. I've been staying at this house while I've been in town. Actually I'm trying to find a boat and get out of here, but it seems they were destroyed, and mine was spotted before I got the chance to leave."
Woah! You're a navigator?" He smiled, reaching his hand out to shake. "Join our pirate crew! I'm sure Luffy wou-"
The woman's eyes widened before angrily slapping the boy's hand away. Without hesitation, she stood up and glared at the man in front of her. "No way! There's no way in hell I'll ever become a disgusting pirate!"
"Aww c'mon, what's wrong with pirates? You get to sail with your friends, grow stronger with everyone, and have many adventures!"
Hearing this only added fuel to Nami's anger. "What do you mean what's wrong with pirates!? Do you think it's ok to kill people on a whim? To destroy entire villages for fun!?" The teenage girl asked, dangerously close to snapping. Clearly their perspective of what being a pirate is are viewed very differently.
Even with the amount of tension in the room, Goku still managed his signature son ear to ear grin. "But I don't care about stuff like that. I just want to become the next Grand Martial Lord, then I can fulfill a promise to someone."
The orange haired beauty unclenched her fist and took a deep breath, calming herself. 'Ok I need to relax, it looks like this guy is more innocent than I thought. Since he doesn't seem very ruthless I'm not risking too much. If I let him think I'm on his crew I might be able to use his strength to get cash faster than I could on my own.' Finishing her thoughts with a satisfied look on her face, Nami broke the silence. "Alright, i'll join you, but not permanently!"
Goku either didn't hear the last part or pretended not to, because instantly, he was on his feet cheering. "Alright! No more getting lost at sea, Luffy is going to like the news!"
"Shut up you idiot! Just remember, this is temporary!" But her words fell on deaf ears as the spiky haired man continued cheering. "Besides…" Nami smirked, finally getting the teen's attention. "There's something you have to do for me first."
And that's where we left off, Music was played with off-key singing, food and booze were passed around, and the guy with the weird hair was thrown into a cage. The party stayed that way for a good ten minutes. Nami thinking back on how she betrayed Goku, an innocent man who didn't know what was happening or why he was caged up like some kind of animal. Goku tried his best to break free from his cage and the ropes even though he could break free. However, he would have to use a considerable amount of energy since Nami had tied him pretty tightly, especially when the rope was pressing tightly against his tail, causing him to lose energy slowly. Nami was away from the rambunctious crew and on her lonesome, leaning on a barrel close to Goku.
"Hey, I'm sorry for doing this to you. Really I am, but if it was either me or you, I'd rather save myself than some stranger I met." Explained the cat burglar as her head was facing the party but her eyes fixated on the person being held captive.
"No, it's alright really, I'll get out eventually so don't sweat it." Answered calmly to the tangerine loving girl, Goku looks at her and says "my friends will be here any second, I'll break out and take care of these guys. Then we can all leave together."
Just how many guys are coming for him if that really was the case? And would his group of pirates accept her as one of their own? Granted it's only temporary but she still feels bad for using him like this. Nami shifts her head and faces Goku with a confused expression "How could you be so cherry when you're the one being held captive, you could be killed any second by these guys and no one would ever know?"
"Because I have friends that I could depend on? Don't you?" That answer was so simple and yet flabbergasted Nami. She wishes she could understand that but she couldn't. Instead she's bearing all the problems to those who know her. Before she could go and think further into it, the monkey man kept talking "besides, I made a promise to someone. And I plan on achieving that dream for him and myself. Nothing is going to make me stop until I achieve it, or die trying." Goku Black onyx eyes were locked onto Nami's coconut brown eyes, the conviction his eyes held told her every word he said, he plans on achieving his goal regardless of the obstacles.
The next few minutes flashed by far too quickly for Nami to follow, Nami still reeling, before something truly interesting happened.
"Let's get this party amped up!" Buggy called, a flagon of alcohol raised and a blush on his cheeks to match his nose. "Bring out the cannon!"
The pirates cheered as a trio of them wheeled out a larger-than-average cannon from one of the crew's tents. They aimed it out over the town and loaded a red ball with Buggy's symbol on it into the weapon.
The pirates cheered as a trio of them wheeled out a larger-than-average cannon from one of the crew's tents. They aimed it out over the town and loaded a red ball with Buggy's symbol on it into the weapon.
"Now bring out the idiots!" Next, the three men Nami had knocked unconscious when she'd taken the map were pulled out in a cage not unlike the one Luffy was currently in. They were placed in front of the cannon, their pleas for mercy unheeded by Buggy or his men. Nami waited as one of the crew lit the fuse with a match. They backed away and covered their ears as the cannon fired with a massive BOOM. The girl who would only steal from pirates could only watch in absolute horror at the destruction caused by the Buggy pirates, and his Buggy ball of destruction.
One second there were three caged men and a row of houses. The next, nothing but rubble remained.
"W-What was that!?" she cried out.
"One of my special Buggy Balls," Buggy the Clown explained with a cruel smile. "With these and my Devil Fruit powers, I will flashily conquer the Grand Line!"
"No way!" Goku whined from his cage. "How could you do that to your own men? Your own friends!" Buggy was surprised by the outburst considering he's the one to say that, considering who his father was.
"WHAT?! Do you think I actually value these men like my friends? They may sail with me but they're in no way my equals. In this world monkey boy there are those who are weaker, follow those who are stronger, more qualified and more worthy than themselves, and the stronger ones follow those who are even stronger. The strong rule over the weak because they can't do anything for themselves!" Explained Buggy as he's now crouched down in front of Goku's cage, a sinister smile plastered on his clown face.
"And when the weak fail to do what the strong say, they pay the price for it. And that's why, son of Bardock, is why you won't interfere with me flashily dominating the grand line, or even live long enough to become such a threat." Said the clown pirate in a hushed tone to where only himself and Goku could hear. Buggy stands up after his little declaration against Goku and points at Nami.
"Bwahahaha!" Buggy laughed. "Now, Nami, fire the next one at your ex-captain. Kill him to prove your loyalty to me." The terrified thief was handed a box of matches as the oversized weapon was reloaded and repositioned, now pointing at Luffy.
"Fire~! Fire~! Fire~!" the crowd chanted.
"What are you waiting for?" Buggy prodded.
"Go on," Goku ordered, startling the shaking teen. "Do you have the pirate's resolve?"
"To do what?" she demanded. "To kill without giving it a second thought?"
"No, to put your life on the line for your dreams and your morals." There was a tense silence between the two while Nami debated with herself internally. A greasy-looking pirate snatched the matches out of her hand, his patience for waiting gone.
"Here, little girl," the pirate smiled suggestively. "Let me show you how to have fun." He lit the match and time seemed to slow down for the navigator. In an instant, she made her decision, pulled out her personal weapon, a bo staff, snapped all three pieces together, and slammed it into the top of the man's head. He went down, stars clouding his vision.
"So you chose your old captain after all," Buggy growled, not surprised but disappointed all the same. "Fine then. I'll just kill you both flashily. Or, I'll just kill you. Your captain is done for anyway. Bwahahaha!" True to his word, the pirate had lit the fuse before Nami's surprise attack.
Nami in the heat of the moment jumped to the lit fuse and tried to die out the spark, however the sharp pain from the heat burned her hands and quickly let go "hahahaha look at trying to save him, it's pathetic!" Shouted a beefy pirate from the background, Nami ignored it and tried again, not letting go this time and praying for the fuse to die.
"Get out of the way!" a gruff voice ordered. Nami chose not to question it and dove away from the lit cannon. A second later, a slash of air cut through the fuse, leaving it to burn out on the ground harmlessly. The pirates and thief turned to the origin of the attack to see a man with short green hair and three swords, one of which was out, and a boy with short black hair, a red vest, and a familiar looking straw hat standing on the edge of the building.
"Luffy! Zoro!" Goku called their names out, the name Zoro though causing whispers in the crowd. "I'm glad to see you guys! You made it!"
"Did he say 'Zoro'?"
"The Pirate Hunter?"
"Is he here for the captain's head?"
"It can't be that. He'd never win against the captain's Devil Fruit power."
"Girl, are you hurt?" Zoro asked Staring at the orange hair girl closely to see if she's pulling anything suspicious.
"N-No," Nami responded in fear by the two newcomers, in which she's extremely surprised to see as well. Apparently these two were also at shell town and defeated Captain axe hand Morgan.
Luffy quickly pulled his arm back, stretching and rotating it for an extra boost in destructive power and said the words "GUM GUM" and launched his fist towards the cage that was holding his brother captive "Pistol!" Obliterating it into smithereens.
With the cage out of the way, Goku quickly used a considerable amount of power and broke through his binds, confining him and standing back up with his friends.
"Alright the real fight starts now!"
Ok chapter 5 is in and in the history books, next will be the conclusion of the orange island arc and we'll see what happens with it. For the most part it will follow the cannon story, just altered slightly until later down the line where a considerable number of the members are in the crew. But then we'll see my plot lines and new ideas.
Alright with that out of the way, time to see the reviews:
Guest: ok so the deal with Bardock is that he was actually part of the Roger pirates as known by Shanks and Buggy when they recognized Goku and mentioned by Garp which he was a prevalent force, but I won't go into the saiyans lineage just yet until later. As for the other Saiyans, I'm still trying to at least put Vegeta but he won't be with the straw hats. That's all I'll say for now though as I don't wanna spoil too much, what's the point of suspense and build up if you already know? Right? But thanks for reading btw and hope to see you continue reading!
SeanHicks4: aye good eye for catching on to it, and of course I'll continue to explain and develop the world as it continues and I hope to have you continue reading my story.
FPinHeiro96: thank you for the compliment brother and I hope you continue to read!
Gokusaiyagod: I could've done that but I'm certain with my choice of ace's pairing, however we'll see for Goku's pairing. Guess you'll just have to read!
Kitcala: ok a big and final review, I'm really happy to reply as I love these types, I'm so happy to see this and I hope my responses will satisfy you brother! So with the first point!
I plan on having Goku train it as the story continues due to the villains and their actions, but when not facing opponents and just on the sea, then I want to write out moments with Goku and chopper on the ship and have moments that we don't see in the manga. Little slice of life moments because those are so fun to read in my opinion.
Ace and Sabo still knew Goku and Luffy and became brothers but I'll get into that either around alabastar or enis lobby arc.
Roshi is Uh… huh? For the moment no but I still don't know? I'm simply acknowledging as Gohan being the founder of the turtle hermit style at the moment but in this case, yeah the chi-chi no mi is a pretty overpowered devil fruit.
Oh I love this one and I won't say why, in this case Bardock is so feared, much less every other Saiyan but the Saiyan race is a scary race and that will be discussed when I address the void century. And the Oozaru transformation is something to do with minx tribe, just get ready when you read it because ooh boy I'm going to have some serious fun with that!
Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to read my story!
Man I just have so much more to say about this but for now I think I'll leave it be with this and continue on with the next chapter. Got any questions? Ask in the reviews and I'll answer in the next chapter. And with that, bye guys!
