Chapter 6: Introductions

AN: This picks up right at the end of chapter 4. So this chapter took me a couple times to write because I had an idea, and saw that it would not pan out like I wanted. Thank you to all that read the last chapter, and for the reviews.

Back on Earth following Ryoko's retreat

"He seemed grouchy," Bulma commented.

A cross-armed Trunks continued to stare in the direction the brown-cloaked Saiyan had left. He turned to his father right next to him, "Are you ok dad?"

"Of course I am boy," Vegeta practically barked. His eyes still targeted the large armored teen in the distance. The others continued to talking between themselves about what Ryoko had elaborated, but Vegeta was still sore with the armored Rize.

The ever friendly Krillin took a step forwards and addressed the crowd in a loud enough voice, "Well, it appears that we will be working together, but I don't know the names of many of Gohan's children." He turned to the young demi-Saiyan and coyly remarked, "Seriously Gohan, you couldn't keep it in your pants?"

Gohan blushed under Krillin's teasing remarks, while the others smiled or laughed along.

"In any case, my name is Krillin, if you didn't know it yet, and it's a pleasure to meet you all," concluded the short human fighter.

One by one the other fighters also introduced themselves, besides Vegeta as he only grunted and turned away.

Bulma took it upon herself to introduce her family. "The shy man to my side is my husband Vegeta." Which garnered her a warning look from Vegeta. "Our son, Trunks," she said while ruffling the lilac-haired boy, "and finally my name is Bulma Briefs, for those of you that haven't met me before.

She also added on to Krillin's initial teasing by stating, "I can see Gohan has gone around. I didn't know you had in you, kid."

Rize decided to save his father from further badgering, as he also saw that Fuyu clearly was not having fun with the jokes aimed at her father, by introducing himself. With a small bow, the tallest and oldest looking, besides Ryoko, child of Gohan began, "A pleasure to meet one and all today, my name is Prince Rize'Tzin de Klaruem Son. However, my unit as well as my caretaker referred to me as Rize, so I find that as an acceptable name of reference, if my name is much too long to state." The tan-skinned, crimson-eyed teen stood from his bent form, while his large golden armor rattles as he moved. His maroon-colored hair, held in a ponytail, that went down to his mid back swayed for a brief moment before coming to a stop.

The cream-skinned Chika left her father's side to greet the others. She curtsied in her sleeveless royal blue fighting dress with an orange sash around her petit midsection, very reminiscent of Chichi's choice of dress for battle. "Likewise, my name is Princess Chika of the Ox-Wolf Kingdom, and sole heir to the throne next year upon my eighteenth birthday." She took her place by Gohan's side and once again wrapped her arm around his.

The purple-eyed Fuyu gritted her teeth at Chika's proximity to her father, but she knew better than start something here now. She was about to present herself, but Cerevak took his chance to step forward instead.

The brown tailed-Saiyan turned to Fuyu and smirked as he announced himself, "I'm just going to assume that everyone here is royalty and forgo any mention of titles. I'm Son Cerevak, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, except for you Ice-jin." After a scornful sneer by dark tan-skinned fighter in blue spandex and white armor, he turned back to his spot. Unlike Vegeta's armor, Cerevak was a short sleeved and shorts type allowing for more of his dark tan complexion to show, and the white armor was embellished with golden trims and a Saiyan marking over his heart.

Not one to be left behind, Fuyu took a step forward while snarling at Cerevak. Her white shoulder-length hair swayed with each step taken. "Fuyu." The puple-skinned with a blue-grey exoskeleton then took a step back. The exoskeleton's job primarily covered her top and short-like bottom with a portion of her arm and legs, but largely her purple skin was exposed.

The next to step forwards was none other than the golden Bō staff wielder; she also appeared to be one of the older members of the new group. Her saffron-colored eyes scanned the group in front of her. "My name is Kyra, I'm not royalty, and in my home I am my father's first daughter. I hope to get along with everyone." Her lavender skin attracted most of the male attention as the bronze armor she wore left little to hide and the matching skirt made from the same bronze metal and brown leather only reached mid-thigh. To complete the exotic look was her long curly amber hair.

While Pan was still having a small conversation with her mother, she saw no one was stepping forward, so she took the initiative. "Hi guys. I'm Pan, not royalty either, and although I may look like the youngest, I will work my hardest to keep up." Pan was the youngest at only fifteen, and the only difference in the last few years was that her hair had grown longer to mid-back.

The freckled twins didn't move, but they introduced themselves from where they stood. Each in their own red Gi with a similar looking Saiyan one shoulder-strap armor over it, and a sign on the chest plate marking they were from Earth Two. "I'm Rem, and this is my brother Vasco," he stated while flicking back the auburn-colored hair in his face. Their hair was very close to Gohan's current style, but the notable difference was the change in color.

Zene was another of the older group; she looked slightly older than Gohan. This young part Hera was held traits like the blue skin, pointy ears, and even similar clothing to her mother with her jewelry included. The difference began with her orange hair being straight rather than curly like her mother's, and Zene's color clothing scheme was slightly altered with a green undershirt instead, but still kept white jacket and baggy pants with the purple sash around. "Nice to meet you, my name is Son Zene."

Finally was the reluctant member, who was pushed forward by Erasa. He stood as tall as Gohan, but he had short dark blonde hair, and although it was spiky it wasn't pointing up. Vanee held no air of a fighter with black shirt too tight and his ripped jeans were more of a fashion statement than a person ready for combat. His blue eyes told the story of man that always ensnared the girl he wanted, and lacked the darkness that some of his siblings carried. He smiled as he addressed the others, "Right, I guess I'm the last one of the siblings. I'm Vanee, and I feel a little out of place here."

Bulma asserted, "Well it seems we have heard from almost all of you, and once again it's nice to meet you all. I'm sure over time we will get to know one another. Though I don't think we heard from you three?" She was pointing at Gohan's classmates.

Erasa, who had slowly recovered from the mess she was back in the forest, spoke up, "Well I don't know much about what is going on, or what that guy in the cloak was talking about, but I am one of Gohan's classmates. My best friends are also here; her name is Videl and this is Sharpner."

When she mentioned Videl, Rem and Vasco didn't hide their disgust, but they seem to apply an equal amount of repulsion for Erasa as well as Sharpner. However it did come as a surprise to them that Sharpner was present.

Bulma nodded, "I see. This must come as a shock to you three, but know that there is nothing to worry as long as we are here, and know thanks to Gohan's kids, we will have more fighters. In any case, I'll be going home to pick some things up, mainly some capsule homes for you lot as I'm sure you didn't bring that along, and you can set camp here."

She turned to Vegeta and with a sweet voice she softly asked, "Do you mind taking us back home? You kind of destroyed my ship, so I have no way of getting back."

Vegeta hated signs public affection, so he lifted her finger that was drawing invisible circles on his chest and countered, "If you think I'm foolish enough to not know that you carry more of those infernal machines, than clearly you don't think much of my keen sense of observation. I have to get back to my training, as this has become a waste of my time." The Prince of all Saiyans took off at great speed leaving behind a fuming Bulma.

"That arrogant …" She took a breath air to calm down. She took out her purse to look for another capsule. "Trunks are you coming?"

"Can I stay here mom? Or can I just go to Goten's house, since it's not that far from here?" Trunks pleaded.

Bulma rolled her eyes. "Alright, I'll call Chichi on my way home, but you better behave. Gohan! Please make sure that Trunks gets to your house with you Ki-sensing and make sure he doesn't deviate!"

At this point, a couple of the other children and the Z-fighters gathered around said Saiyan and were talking about the upcoming battle. He quickly turned to Bulma and smiled with a nod.

With that, Bulma left knowing that at least someone was keeping track of Trunks, and really it wasn't that far to the Son household. They were all within the 439 area, but just in a different side of the zone.

****Line Break***

Videl went over to Pan, who was talking with one of the twins, and tapped her shoulder to get her attention. "It's time. You promised to answer my questions." After, she made her way to a more isolated place.

The orange bandana-wearing girl acknowledged her request and turn to finish her conversation with the auburn-haired boy. "I guess we will continue this later on, but let Rize know that I'm okay with his plan of paired watch teams."

Before she could leave, Vasco quickly sneered, "So it's true, you are the daughter of Videl Satan. Really we don't have anything more to talk about."

Pan looked away for a moment. "At this moment, after today, I prefer to say I'm the daughter of Son Videl, not Videl Satan. I understand that in your world, mama was not a good person, but you can't treat me based on association with the Videl Satan of your universe. For one, she and my mama are very different, and two, I am not my mother.

"I got to go, but if you ever feel like it, then maybe you can share the history of your universe, and maybe we can even compare notes." Pan turned and walked away towards where Videl had left. It felt awful for Pan to talk like that, and even distance herself from her own mother, but this current version of her mother had been a nuisance, and even she couldn't defend some of her brash behavior.

***Line Break***

"So it has been decided, for the time being, there shall be at least two that must be present and awake to guard our father in case those from Dekaido's forces decide to attack again," summarized Rize.

Rem quipped, "Are you sure you can keep yourself in control, and not go all out attack on Vegeta again?"

The maroon-haired young man snorted, clearly un-amused by one of the twin's comment on his earlier loose of control. "I shall handle myself alright. It would be in your best interest to not remind me of that incident ever again."

"Someone is touchy," grumbled Rem with a small smirk. Zene jabbed the smaller boy to quiet him down.

"Honestly guys, I don't see the point for all this," Gohan remarked. "I'm thankful for the protection, but I can't ask you all to put your lives on the line for mine."

Chika, who was still next to Gohan, spoke up, "Daddy you heard what Ryoko said. We need to protect you, both for your safety as well as our own and our families. If we die then we can be revived, but if you do…" She shuttered in place and held a closer grip on Gohan. She buried her face into his black vest.

Gohan, for his part, just provided comfort for the suddenly distraught girl clutching on to him.

Yamcha cleared his throat to continue, "And you know that we are a group that looks out for one another. If someone is targeting you, then we will make them regret ever coming after you Gohan. You would do everything in your power to protect us, and in the past you have; now it is our turn to return the favor. Right guys?" He nodded to the other fighters of this universe.

While some were vocal, like Krillin, all at least nodded in agreement with Yamcha's statement.

The Bō staff wielder Kyra added, "The scarred-face human is correct. After all we, your children, were brought here for the sole purpose to protect you until we can make arrangements to go to Prime World."

"Fine," Gohan agreed with a dejected sigh. He just didn't want anyone risking their life for him, especially those that claimed to be his children. "But I will fight as well. I can't be hiding behind some stone castle, and that is my final word on this subject." He added the last bit when he saw some of those surrounding him were readying to argue. This put a cap on the small resistance.

"Well said father," Cerevak remarked. "Spoken like a true Saiyan."

Rize glared at the tailed Saiyan momentarily, but didn't say anything on the matter. After a few seconds he returned to a casual gaze. "In any case, if that is your wish father, then it shall be done. However, someone will always be with you at all times. That is our compromise."

After getting a nod from Gohan, Rize concluded the hastily meeting. "Great! I think we made a lot of progress here, and for now let us rest." The tall armored young man began walking away towards the river across the plain. The others, subsequently, also divided to get a feel for their surroundings, while those of the Z-squad either remained to talk or left to return home, but promised to return by nightfall.

Fuyu also walked away, but Cerevak didn't take his glare away from her even as she left.

After a few minutes of chitchat with old allies as well as the newcomers, Gohan disengaged from Chika promising to return in a little while. He wanted to have a small talk with Rize, and wanted to do so one on one.

It didn't take long for Gohan to find Rize sitting by the river. As he approached the larger young man, Gohan noticed his demoralized expression as he looked at the passing water. His stroll ended by the maroon-haired man, and he laid a hand on his shoulder to let him know he was there.

Rize looked up to see he father and he immediately brushed away the moisture from his eyes. "Father, what may I be of assistances?"

Gohan laughed while rubbing the back of his neck. "You guys do know that you don't have to refer to me as 'father' right? I mean you seem a little older than me, so I can only assume that it be a little awkward for you."

"Nonsense father. Your age is irrelevant to me; it is who you are that determines what I refer to you as. I can only speak from myself of course, but I believe it is more 'awkward', as you say, to refer to you by your given name than simply calling you father," replied Rize.

"Well I just wanted to give you that option. May I have a seat?" Gohan asked while looking at the rock next to Rize.

The armored young man vigorously nodded, "Of course father, how foolish of me to not offer you a seat beforehand, my apologizes."

Gohan placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey it's okay." Gohan turned to look at the rushing water and simply stated, "Calming isn't it. Whenever I am troubled, I often go to the lake nearby my house to just watch as the fish swim by. In fact, I think this is the same river, but just a little further downstream."

Rize didn't say anything but just nodded as his eyes continued to scan the water.

"So, do you want to talk about what happened back there? With Vegeta?" asked Gohan. "You're welcome to wave me off, but know that I'm here to listen, maybe I can even help."

Rize picked his head up. "You would never understand father. Unlike you, my record has been sullied and I have failed to live up to your perfection. I made a devastating mistake and I lost."

Gohan smiled, "You think I have never lost? I've lost fights before, and I'm sure your father, the version of me from your time, has also failed at one point or another."

The maroon-haired young man shook his head. "That is preposterous father. You are the living embodiment of perfection, while I, your son, has failed to follow in your footsteps."

Gohan saw that there was no way to get through his image of his father, so he chose a different approach. "How about we start from the beginning? Where are you from, because I can tell that you're not from around here?"

"No. This planet is in the North Quadrant. I am from a planet in the West Quadrant, and my family is the ruling clan of Planet Klaruz.

"This is your home planet, right father? I always wondered why you complained about the heat of our planet, but I can see why now. This planet is much cooler than our own planet. Actually it is pretty cold, if I do say so myself," Rize stated with a small chuckle and a shiver.

Gohan laughed for a moment before returning to a normal façade. "I guess so, but 'to each their own' as I say. That was quite an interesting transformations you had back there. I'm guess it comes from your mother's side?"

"You mean the glowing red eyes and the fire?" Rize said with a shake of his head. "That wasn't a transformation, or at least not like the Super Saiyan transformation. In my world it's known as Chaos Mode. It channels an unbelievable rage and pushes my body to the point of bursting, so it is uncontrollable."

Gohan picked up a stone and skipped it across the water. "I don't know if it's totally uncontrollable. I mean in the end you were able to stop yourself."

Rize exhaled before speaking, "Our planet healers do not know exactly why I am able to return from Chaos Mode. You see in the past, my mother's race would have a person reach Chaos Mode, but they would be lost within their anger until they finally exploded. As far as we know, I am the only one that has reached that state of anger and come back from it. Chaos Mode is a death sentence.

"My father has a theory though. He believes that the portion of Saiyan blood within me is capable of stabilizing the fire, given the fact that the Saiyan blood is used to undergoing transformations; enough to allow me to continue living well past the point I should have exploded. That doesn't mean I have control over Chaos, but just that I can live until I come back from my anger high." Rize took the stone offered by Gohan and also threw it.

Gohan contemplated what Rize said. "Well, that does have some merit. It's also said that the Saiyan blood is able to adapt in many situations, maybe this is just another thing it's trying to assimilate. But what triggers that…mode? Why Vegeta?"

The armored young man clenched his fist, as a scowl formed, and his crimson eyes twitched. "It is derived from anger, from pain, from pure loathing. King Vegeta has earned all of those and then some. I will never forgive what he did to my men and I, and someday I will tear him to pieces."

Gohan seemed troubled by his son's words. "What did he do? Who is King Vegeta?"

"I guess he is different here," stated Rize before turing his gaze towards his father. Fire had begun replacing his iris. "In my world he is the leader of Planet Trade Organization, an evil group that wished to subject the entire universe under the rule of King Vegeta."

Gohan immediately placed a hand on his armor to placate him. "Hey, it's okay. He is not here. What did King Vegeta do to you and your men?"

Rize noticed he was starting to lose control and immediately began breathing to calm himself. When he was ready he turned to his father. "My apologizes father for almost losing control again. To understand what King Vegeta did, I have to start from the beginning. I've always looked up to my father; he is a warrior worthy of the legends that have spawned from his time protecting our planet. Our soldier gladly put their lives on the line because they know that my parents will always lead them to victory. He is adored by many since he started as an unknown person, and slowly gained the confidence of our people.

"I, on the other hand, am seen as a person that was spoon-fed his title of Captain. I was born into nobility and the heir to the throne, but many fear that I will never be able to match the legend of my father, and honestly I agree with them. I made mistakes that cost people their lives." He slammed his fist on the rock below him, effectively destroying it and falling from his seated position to the ground below.

Gohan instantly stood up to help him up. After a few seconds, Rize took his hand to stand. "How about we take a walk instead," suggested Gohan.

Thoroughly embarrassed by his previous action, the maroon-haired teen began walked alongside the river path. "The Planet Trade Organization has begun invading our sector, and some have already started to fall to their grasps. Primarily the only free associations of planets that still exist are the Allied Planets of the West, led by my father, and our mortal enemies: The Katteru Alliance. It has become a war between three parties, but even we ally ourselves with the Katteru against the PTO. In fact, before I left for this universe, I heard that my father was being ascended to Supreme Commander of both alliances, as we tire of King Vegeta's approach. The war will continue, after the PTO has been dealt with.

"I was given a platoon to lead patrols at one of the borders of the Allies. I work tirelessly to assure my men that I could be as good of a leader as my father. It took me a while, but eventually I gained their respect and admiration." He reflected with a smile, "My second-in-command, and mentor, La'dyo often scrutinize me for socializing with the soldiers as if I was within their ranks, but I just had to remind him that he was part of my father's infamous group, and my father did the same thing I did. He ate with his men, slept in the same quarters, and my father never used his command post to get any luxuries, so I would neither accept those luxuries for myself."

Gohan commented, "It seems he was just trying to make sure that the lines between leader and soldier were not blurred."

"True, but I wanted to have a group similar to my father's, where he was their leader but even his men could speak freely and offer alternatives. Some historians believe that it was this unorthodox system that led to my father's overwhelming success. That instead of all focusing on what two eyes can see, the fact that everyone in his group could freely state an alternative without the backlash some would receive for speaking out of turn, made for better strategies to be implemented. I believe it," Rize informed with a shrug.

"That is very similar to how we operate," Gohan admitted referring to the Z-fighters.

"Not long ago, we intercepted a ship that contained prisoners of the PTO. Some were our men, some from the Katteru, and some were just unknown to us. However there was one that caught our attention. He was a traitor of the Allied Planets, a former coronel of my grandfather's army, and he provided King Vegeta with information that almost led to the murder of my grandfather when he was the king. This led to my parents ascending to the throne; I was but a boy at the time. The traitor was marked for death on sight. No trial, no forgiveness, just death.

"He pleaded with me. He begged for forgiveness saying that he was not in control of himself at the time he betrayed my grandfather. The traitor ever went as far as saying that someone was controlling his mind and body, so he should not be held accountable for his actions, but also said that he remembered things about the base of operations of the Planet Trade Organization, from when he was under their influence. He knew secrets, passages, and the weakness of their fortified ships and bases. All he asked was a fair trial in exchange for the information." Rize exhaled as he stopped in front of a waterfall creek.

"La'dyo wanted to just kill him like it was mandated, but I…" he struggled to get the words out. "I was too tempted with the information he had, and so I had mercy on his soul. I took him back to the capital to serve trial in front of the senate, filled with representatives of all the Allied Planets." He turned to Gohan. "You have to believe me father; I was only trying to do the right thing! I thought I would be hailed as a hero, but instead…"

"But instead, the traitor broke his restraints and killed a couple of senate members. I was with my mother at the time, and had dismissed most of my troops to go back to their families. La'dyo chose to lead the prisoner to the senate with a few of my men. From where the traitor got his weapons, no one knows, but one thing was for sure; the guards of the palace accused my men of betraying the crown and began firing on them. I heard that destruction followed as smoke began impairing the vision of all and many died in the crossfire. The men of my platoon that trusted me so, fell, and even my mentor, and father of my childhood friend, died." A few tears streamed down tan skin. "He was like a second father to me, and because of my mistakes he died. The last words heard in that chamber were: Long Live King Vegeta! Followed by an explosion that took out even more people."

Rize sighed, "What happened next is …pretty common. I was stripped of my title as Captain and placed in house arrest, and my men were captured or under house arrest as well until a full investigation can be completed. My parents advocated that I would never betray the alliance, but because the members that died were representatives from the Allied Planets, then a strong punishment had to be implemented. I could care less for my military title, but I can't even go see those of my men that were injured! My men trusted me, and all they got was treatment similar to that of a traitor!

"One day, I promise you father, I will find King Vegeta and make him pay for his little kamikaze. I will not rest until I have restored the honor of La'dyo and everyone else that died that day."

Gohan nodded, "I'm sure you will, but having nothing but revenge on your mind will do you no good Rize. Anger can cloud your judgment, and sometimes it can hurt the very people you are trying to protect." Gohan showed one of his burned hands. "I understand your anger towards this King Vegeta, but you will bring no honor to those that have fallen you if lose yourself in the process. I'm sure your father would say this, but don't dwell on the past, learn from it, and you will become much stronger."

The Saiyan in a black vest continued to pace around the taller son. "You may consider you father as perfect, but he is not. And before you argue listen to what I have to say. We are the same person at least at one point in time, so his mistakes and mine were the same at one point. There is also no person that is perfect in this universe, not me, and certainly not your father. What I have learned from my mistakes is that if we only focus on all the bad, then we are limiting ourselves from our full potential. Make sure you remember all the good you have done, and I'm sure it will outweigh the small oversights. I have confidence that things will turn out for the best when you get back."

"I hope so father, I truly hope so," muttered Rize. "But that doesn't change my mission, one day I will destroy King Vegeta."

Gohan sighed as he stopped in front of Rize and placed his hands on his shoulders. "You're quite thick skulled aren't you. Alight, how about for now we return to the group? I'm kind of hungry, and I'm sure you are as well."

Rize briefly smiled before nodding. They both made their way back to the campground.

As the two Saiyan hybrids made their way back, a familiar Ice-jin walked out from behind her tree cover. She watched as father and son strolled back.

So this chapter should explain briefly a little about what was happening in chapter 1.

As I was alluding in the beginning AN, this chapter took three time to make. The first try, I wrote about Pan and Videl's talk, but I kept seeing it as Videl bashing, which I didn't mean for it to be, but her ignorance was just to great and I didn't want her to just accept things all willy-nilly because I needed to move on. This is literally someone telling you, all your life has been a lie, so I would expect some resistance from said person. In any case, some people don't like the way I'm portraying Videl and I didn't think this chapter would help those people so I chose to delete and start over. I might go back and add it as a bonus feature later on, but for now I think I will just not add it.

The second time, I saw it as an origin story of Rize, which is good but some people might not care for all the small details and Rize monologing about his life. Plus it was getting to 10,000 words, so I choose to start over once again. The third time I just added the important events from Rize's life. However I have come up with a common ground. The next chapter will be called "Origin- Prince Rize'Tzin" it's an alternate scene, and the original second version of this chapter. Here Rize will be able to go into the many details I deleted in this chapter. It will cover what point in time did Gohan divert from the canon story, and what Gohan did in that other timeline. Among many other scenes and even flashbacks. The point of the Origin series is to give a proper channel for the reader to get to know a certain OC's backstory, if they care for them. I will try to make it so the Origin chapters are not needed to be read to still enjoy the overall story (like I did in this chapter), but it's an option to get to know what are some of the OC aspirations and goals, but also what molded each to be who they are.

Let me know what you guys think about this chapter, and what you think about the idea of having 'Origin' chapters in general.

Dear eroticlad11,

Thanks, I hope it's to your liking.

Dear nancy103,

Yeah, getting Gohan to Prime World is their hope, but in the mean time they have to protect him from Dekaido and the others that might be after Gohan.

Dear Smithback,

Well Dekaido isn't a bad leader, but there is a reason he is known as the destroyer. You'll see just how terrible he can be when he want to be.

OBAI was an interesting addition that I didn't plan, but I just kind of added at the last minute. While OBAI is non-gender, I always figured she was female for some reason, and she will be in charge of the ship at all times.
