Origins- Rize'Tzin de Klaruem Son

AN: This chapter is what I was talking about in the last chapter at the end. The chapter is part of the series known as origins, or the back story of one of Gohan's children. Origins will only be done every so often in between other chapters. Prime Objective is the main story, but Origins is suppose to give us a little more of the history of one of Gohan's children.

We will start with the first son we met in this story: Rize'Tzin or Rize as he goes by. The point of the origins is to describe what deviation Gohan did to lead to that particular child's timeline. It is all suppose to show some of this child's fears and aspirations as well as some flashbacks to their timeline. In the last chapter I briefly over-viewed Rize's story with only the elements that will be needed for the overall 'Prime Objective's' needs. This chapter was made to expand on some of those briefly mentioned events that I skipped. If you care enough to know about Rize, then this chapter will tell more of his history, but if you don't then you can skip to the next chapter where we will continue Prime Objective.

I know this chapter starts off similar to the last chapter's scene, but this only because this was the original version before I trimmed it down to what I published. Consider it as an alternate scene.

"No. This planet is in the North Quadrant. I am from a planet in the West Quadrant, and my family is the ruling clan of Planet Klaruz.

"This is your home planet, right father? I always wondered why you complained about the heat of our planet, but I can see why now. This planet is much cooler than our own planet. Actually it is pretty cold, if I do say so myself," Rize stated with a small chuckle and a shiver.

To Gohan, this was just a normal day with normal temperatures. It left him wondering how much warmer his planet was. "Yes, this is where I was born, but I'm wondering how I managed to end up in the West Quadrant? I mean I don't travel to outer space that often."

"It's a good question. I'm a little shaky on the detail father, so you will have to forgive me for not being so knowledgeable. From my earliest recollections, I believe you were looking for grandfather, your father, which had been missing in space following the events of Planet…um I'm sorry but I can't remember the name of the planet."

"Namek," supplied Gohan. "It was probably Namek because that was the only time my father was missing in space. I was around five at the time, but I remember I returned to Earth, how did I end up in space again?"

There was a long pause as Rize tried to remember. Finally he turned to his father and said, "I believe father tired of waiting and decided to expend his own search efforts for Grandfather Goku by taking a ship without notifying anyone. As I recall, father traveled in the direction of this Planet Namek and continued past its location, believing that maybe he would have some luck if he pressed on. Eventually after some stops in space, he landed on our planet looking for fuel. There he met my mother, who at the time was being taken against her will as a way to pressure the king, her father and my grandfather, to surrender.

"You must understand that the West Quadrant has been plagued with war throughout the entire sector for as long as anyone can remember. Every planet with a life form has been waging and battling in an endless war for control or for their personal freedom. Our planet was a relatively small one, but it could serve as a nexus because of how close the planet is to the center of the Quadrant. Thankfully our military managed to battle back any invaders, but the years were getting to us, and many saw the young princess as a bargaining chip to finally put down my grandfather."

Rize developed a smile. "They almost succeeded, had my father not thwarted their plans unknowingly. He believed he was just protecting a young lady in distress, but in reality my father protected our independence as my grandfather, the king, would have conceded to their demands if they had taken my mother. The two would form an instant connection, and my father would eventually pledge to protect Klaruz after seeing the amount of destruction at hand.

"He never raised a weapon, and often times his methods were considered unorthodox for solely relying on Ki, but it didn't take long for my father to rise within the ranks thanks to his overwhelming power and great tactical mind. My grandfather saw the great potential in my father, and the immense acclamation the people and soldiers had for him, so he offered him the position of General. My father however chose to decline the offer on the grounds that he wasn't ready yet to control the entire armada, but he asked for an alternative; a special group that he would train and lead."

Gohan threw a stone into the water. "It crazy how much a small change can make. This version of me seems very military driven. So what happened with the group I lead?"

Rize also skipped his stone. "They became legendary. His group was well known and feared by our enemies for their frightening success rate as well as never losing one of its members. There are even some that claim the group was protected by the Kai themselves. Anything my father put his mind to, he succeeded. A little known fact about the group is that my mother trained under my father, but she did so without letting the crown know, since they disapproved of her training, and my father had promised to train her. She never went out with the group on their missions, but she trained with the best in secret."

Gohan chuckled, "Your mother sounds like me when I was young and my mom didn't want to let me train. I guess the difference is that I actually went out to fight. "

"That is what I remember father telling me was his reason for initially training mother. He drew parallel to his own childhood, and wished to give her the training she sought for, like the opportunity he was given. I guess from here you can imagine what happened; there time together led to them to make much advancement in their growing bond, and eventually marry to solidify their relation." Rize searched within his armor where he held many of his personal mementos. He pulled out a picture of La'vuren and immediately blushed before stuffing it back before Gohan could see it.

Gohan viewed his abrupt motion but chose to let it go. After a few more shifts, Rize pulled another photograph and passed it to him. The picture depicted a man and a woman standing side by side in regal clothing while holding up their interlocked hands in the center in front of a throne room. The man had a stern expression and looked like the older version of Gohan with slightly longer hair. The reddish-orange skinned woman had a small smile and stood taller than Gohan, at least a head taller. She had long ruby hair braided together. "So this is your mother? Wow she is tall. I can see you took a lot of her features."

Rize nodded, "That is the most recent photo I have of the two of them, though it was taken when I was a boy. It was the day that my father created the current alliance where he serves as the leader of the Allied Planets of the West. Through diplomacy by my mother and war by my father, the alliance has grown to contest with the superpowers of our Quadrant, so much so that just before I left for this universe, I heard word that my father was being ascended once again, this time to Supreme Commander of the West Quadrant Allied Planets. A merger between our alliance and the Katteru Alliance, which is the other strongest alliance in the Quadrant and had been our enemies for eons, but with the present danger of the Plant Trade Organization advancing on our territory, we have been forced to merge to put an end to their tyrannical ruler, King Vegeta."

Gohan rubbed his chin as he recalled, "Planet Trade Organization, I know I have heard that name before. So you're saying that Vegeta is the head of that organization?"

"The PTO is a dangerous group that wishes to enslave the universe under the rule of King Vegeta and destroy any planet that becomes too troublesome. I've heard that in the past it was run by a family of Ice-jins, but it has since been taken over by King Vegeta himself. I only met the man once when I was a boy, shortly after the first coalition was created."

Flashback:

Laughter echoed along the large dining room of the castle. Inside sat many figures around a table as they enjoyed the plenty dishes served. At the head of the table sat a man with onyx hair and tan skin, he laughed along with the others as another young man spoke about his recent travel and the trouble he had gotten into for not respecting the customs of the place where he landed.

To his right sat a woman which held his hand on the table. Her reddish-orange skin and crimson eyes would ensnare any man, but her eyes were for the only man which held her hand. Next to her sat their son, as he looked at the food with a dejected expression for not being able to eat until all plates were served. He rocked in his chair as he impatiently awaited the go ahead. Across from Gohan's wife sat her father.

The old King shared a similar expression to his grandson. Still he knew that the rules of etiquette stood above all else, so he did his best to listen to the story of one of his son-in-law's former soldier from the infamous group. Occasionally get an elbow from his wife when he looked down at his empty plate instead of focusing on the story.

The joyous atmosphere came to a halt when the doors, leading to one of the many hallways of the castle, burst open with a strong enough force to make both large doors slam into the wall. There stood a single man with flame-like hairstyle and smirk firmly attached to his expression. One of the many guards tried to stop him from advancing but was paid with a devastating hit for his trouble. The red cape billowed at Vegeta continued his stroll towards the table.

"What is the meaning of this?! Tell me, who dares interrupt our meal time?!" the old King exclaimed in a thunderous voice.

"Do you mean me?" Vegeta sarcastically asked. "I'm here to pay an old friend a visit, right boy?"

Gohan took the napkin from his legs and placed it on his plate as he stood up. "Vegeta. I see the years have done nothing to change those terrible manners of yours."

"Do you know this man Gohan?" the old King inquired.

"Unfortunately, I do. He is a man I knew from my old planet, and not someone I'm pleased to see." Gohan stated while shaking his head.

"I'd watch my tongue if I were you, brat. Remember who the stronger one of the two of us was." Vegeta snarled. He reached the table and pulled the chair opposite of Gohan for himself. As he sat down, he reached for large slab of meat and took a large bite out of it.

"I don't recall offering you a place at my table Vegeta, nor allow you to take part in this sacred ritual." Gohan glared across the table at other Saiyan. "You were stronger than me when I was just five, but times have changed. As you can see I have grown, and with it so has my power." His eyes flashed teal momentarily and everyone in the vicinity got a strong spike of energy before coming back down.

Vegeta however was impassive to the spike. "So I see, but I too have achieved the legendary transformation." In a second, Vegeta's eyes also flashed teal. "But I'm not here to pick a fight."

"Really, cause it surely looks that way to me." The demi-Saiyan crossed his arms as he waited to hear what the Saiyan senior had to say.

Vegeta reached for a glass of liquid from a seated person nearby before gulping down the entire content. "I must say, that meat was extremely dry. I don't see how you can call that food. In any case, I'm here with a proposition. You see after Kakarot did us all the favor of ridding us of Frieza. I took it upon myself to finish off the rest of his family; however the departure of the Cold family left a vulnerable Planet Trade Organization, which I happily took over. And so I am now KING VEGETA!"

Gohan rolled his eyes. "Well isn't that unfortunate, but I fail to see how this is something I should care for. The Planet Trade Organization deals primarily in the north only."

"You've been busy Kakabrat. News of your role in this Quadrant reached my delightful ears, and I just had to come and congratulate you personally. You are doing the Saiyan race proud boy, but I came to offer you an even greater role." Vegeta placed both hands behind his back as he stood up from his chair and began walking around the table. "You see the Planet Trade Organization has become increasingly interested in this Quadrant, and as fellow Saiyan warriors I wanted to extend my hand and offer you the role of letting the Organization set up camp on your planet and the others allied to you. In exchange, we are willing to offer you more fighters for your cause. You would of course be a high ranking official in my Organization, but serve under me. What do you say boy, this is your lucky break and with our help we can take down those that oppose the Saiyan race."

"I've never liked you Vegeta, not when I was a boy, and certainly not now. The answer is no!" boomed Gohan. "I have been doing fine until now, and it would be stupid of me to have fought for our independence for so long, just to turn over and give you what I have been fighting for. I do not fight for the Saiyan race, but for independence of Klaruz."

Vegeta clicked his tongue. "You're one that is governed by logic. What I'm offering you is an equal deal, if I do say so myself; one that I would not offer anyone else but you because even though your blood is diluted, you still carry the blood of the Saiyan warriors, and as your Prince I must look after the last of my race."

He continued, "What is stopping me from going tomorrow and not just aligning with your enemies. Then you would face not only the force of your enemies, but my forces as well. Think about it boy."

This brought some alarm to many of the delegates that sat at the table, most were representatives for the other planets in the alliance. They quickly murmured between themselves, but instantly quieted down when Gohan resumed his speaking roles.

"The answer is still no. The reason I know for a fact that the other alliances would not concede to a slime ball like you is because most of them are proud fools like yourself. They would never subject themselves to your rule even if you offered to do it only for a limited time. It's beneath them and certainly beneath me and the people of the alliance," reasoned Gohan as he smirked. This garnered some applause from those at the table.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I was about to have dinner, so if you will please follow these gentlemen as they escort you out of my kingdom."Two guards came to each side of Vegeta and tried to pull him, but they were blown back. Gohan uncovered his eyes when the dust Vegeta had raised settled. "However if you wish, I can escort you myself, and I promise you that it will be rougher than anything my guards would have done."

Vegeta growled but eventually replaced with the previous devious smile. He raised both hands in a show of surrender "We will see who gets that last laugh brat. Remember the day that I have you at my feet, that I once tried to offer you peace, but you rejected my hand. I can find my way out." With that stated, Vegeta left stomping and the two guards, which had recovered, flanking slightly behind him.

A purple-eyed caretaker stood by Gohan and slightly bowed before speaking, "My King, do you wish for me to take the young Prince to his quarters?"

"What?!" bellowed the young Rize. He had been waiting to eat, but now he faced the possibility of not eating thanks to the interruption. It was so unfair in his mind.

Gohan turned to the caretaker and replied, "It is fine for the boy to stay Akram. In fact I have a small announcement at the end that involves Rize. However you can do something for me; I want you to sent out a message to allies and enemies alike, about what Vegeta said here today. The warning that he is planning to take over this sector by force and that he will lie and enslave anyone that allies with him." The caretaker bowed before dashing to accomplish her new mission.

"Are you sure that this is a threat worth an effort, dear?" Gohan's wife asked.

Gohan maintained a grim look. "Vegeta alone is a threat to anyone, but him have the backing of the Planet Trade Organization can only spell certain doom will follow. I just hope the others heed my warning."

The old King cleared his throat before questioning in a gruff voice, "What I want to know is how he managed to get all the way here without alerting everyone of his presence?"

A young guard took a step forward. "We apologize for our mishap, but honestly we didn't detect his small ship until we had a visual on it."

"A Saiyan pod," Gohan added. "They are sleek, fast, and very hard to detect until they are right overhead. The downside is that it can only carry one person." He directed his stare at the guard. "We should be alright for now, but I want all personal on duty and those on patrol to be extra vigilant for any possible invasion." The guard, like the caretaker, rushed out of the room to inform the troops of the new decree.

One of the delegates chose this time to inquire directly with Gohan. "Great Leader Gohan, I can't help but wonder if it was wise to push away the man. He came here to offer an alliance, and unlike all of us where you agreed, you chose to send him away. Is your history with this man clouding your judgment of something that could prove to be valuable?"

Immediately a red-skinned soldier stood up knocking his chair over, the same soldier which had been telling his story a short while before, and growled at the delegate, "How dare you question our future King?! If he said this man is to not be trusted, then he is not someone we will work with!"

Gohan just smiled as he sat down before speaking, "It is quite alright La'dyo. They are within reason to question my decision, after all, is it not the point of creating this senate of representatives, where the allied planets can bring their suggestions and inquires, to openly speak their minds?"

La'dyo promptly nodded before picking up his chair and sitting down. "Apologizes my liege. I will do better in the future."

"There is nothing to forgive La'dyo. Instead I apologize that he so rudely interrupted your story, but we will get back to your story in a few minutes," Gohan stated before turning back to the representative. "As for your question, it is because of my past that I know he is someone we can not trust or take his hand. He only serves his own agenda and will stop at nothing to complete it, even if it means betraying people in the process."

The old King chimed in, "Well, we are unfamiliar with this character, but my son-in-law seems certain about him, and honestly we are all in this one room because of his intuition, so why doubt him now." He coughed until his wife handed him his glass. "With my aging body, my throne will go down to my daughter and Gohan soon. I trust your word son, and I know you are only looking for our best benefit. Now what was this about my grandson, because I'm hungry and the cooks had to prepare all the food again thanks to the intruder blowing dust all over the previous banquet?"He received an elbow from his wife for his efforts.

Gohan stood up once again as did his wife. He looked at his wife while speaking. "Our son grows by the day. The fruit of our love blossoms with each passing day, and we see a great leader within him. It is why Raza'Tzin and I have come to the conclusion that it's high time he begins his training to take over my spot someday."

Gohan's wife, Raza, commented as well while taking her husband's hand and both turning to their young son, "As a young girl, I was often ill-prepared for the troubles of the universe, my parents meant well, but it's thanks to my husband that I stand before you today. He had to save this princess time and time again. We hope to learn from this by officially beginning young Rize'Tzin's training. When the time comes and he has grown up a little more, he will begin a path similar to my husband."

Gohan pressed on, "We hope that everyone here will help mold our young son and future leader to be the best he can be. La'dyo, please stand."Once the person in question was standing, Gohan revealed, "You have been my second in command back when we fought for the group. The one I trust most, so we would be honored if you would take it upon yourself to teach our son the proper way to be the next leader, a better leader than even I could be."

La'dyo kneeled before the royal crown. "The honor is all mine. I promise, your highness, that he will be exceptional, as I can see that he holds the best of the two of you."

Flashback over

"I trained for many solar cycles, as hard as I possibly could to meet the expectations of my parents, to reach their level of perfection. Not long ago I was promoted and given my own platoon. I can honestly say it was one of the happiest moments in my life because I finally felt that I was on the path to being the son my parent's envisioned. I can't say that my soldiers felt as happy as I did though," he stated with a chuckle.

"To many within my ranks, they felt that I did not earn the title but rather was just 'given it' because of my claim to the throne. They would still follow my order, but I could sense it was not the same adoration that the others showed my father. To them, my father was who they wished was their direct commander, not me. I understood them, but I pushed forward to gain their trust and show them that I was just as capable of a leader as my father." The maroon haired took the photo back from Gohan and stored it back in his armor.

"La'dyo became my second in command, and he would constantly fret over the fact that I spent so much time with the soldiers; however I explained that this is what my father did, and that is the reason why he has such a strong connection with his old group. I never used any luxuries; I only ate what my men had to eat, and slept on the cots provided for them. I had my room, but it felt better to be among the soldier like my father, and show that I was not someone that was just spoon fed a group to lead the sake of commitment."

Gohan passed another stone as they skipped a couple across the river.

Rize continued, "We were sent to patrol one of the outer edges of the alliance's borders, often times fighting both the other alliances as well as the invading PTO within a span of a couple days. It became routine for us to fight, but even if we were in the middle of a battle with the Katteru, if some PTO entered the fray, then we would unwillingly fight alongside each other to dismantle these PTO forces.

"As I mentioned before, my soldiers were not as thrilled to be lead by yours truly, but that was until a certain battle where two of my scouts were captured. By all accounts, they were deemed as perished, but I refused to accept that. Under the cover of the explosions, I managed to escape my platoon leaving La'dyo in charge while I went in and recovered those soldiers. La'dyo had no clue that this had happened until I was far gone."

Flashback:

The tall Rize made his way through the slightly smaller metallic corridor. Everything seemed the same since docking into the enemy PTO prison transport ship. One of the outside explosions hit close by making Rize stumble while holding onto the wall for support.

There was a buzz in Rize's ear, emanating from his communicator, until he heard his mentor's voice through the link, "Rize, where are you?! You asked for a moment and disappeared."

The maroon-haired individual placed a finger on the communicator and in a low voice he responded, "La'dyo… so, promise you won't overreact."

"That is hardly a promise I can keep at this point, Captain."

He could almost feel his stare, and it made the hair on the back of his neck rise. "Well then, this conversation is going to turn sour real fast. I'm currently on the prisoner's ship."

"You are WHERE?! Rize this has to be the stupidest thing you have ever done! What in the great leader's name are you doing there?"

Rize was about to respond when he heard a couple of footsteps approaching. Around the corner he noticed a single shadow on the floor. He scrambled to stand alongside the wall as he waited for the enemy. All the while, La'dyo kept calling his name with increasing volume after each time Rize did not respond.

"What the—" shouted the humanoid when he turned the corner, but Rize quickly kicked him to one of the metallic walls. The PTO soldier landed with a strong thud on the ground, but did not get up.

"I'm here," Rize declared putting an end to La'dyo's yelling. "I had company at the moment, but they have been taken care of."

"What are you doing there?" his mentor repeated putting extra emphasis on each word as he growled.

Rize took the body of the enemy and turned him over to see him unconscious. 'Good, he will be my way around this junk of a ship.' The tan skinned leader also responded to his second-in-command's inquiry, "I'm here for the scouts, and I won't leave until I have all my men back. My father never lost a single soldier, and neither will I."

He cut the connection with mentor, much to the displeasure of the older man.

The future king of Klaruz picked up the smaller man and pinned him to the wall by the neck before shaking him awake. "Wake up you PTO trash! I got some questions, and you are my answer sheet."

The black eyes of enemy opened as they tried to adjust to the light. Finally he saw the Klaruz in front of him and was about to shout when felt a punch to his snout.

"Speak out of turn once again, and the next time I'll be breaking something," Rize menacingly growled. "Are you ready to cooperate?"

The black-eyed individual held his snout and narrowed his eyes. He also tried to combat the grip around his neck, but Rize only place more pressure, beginning to crush his windpipe.

"I repeat, will …you…cooperate, or do I have to find someone else? Mind you, I'll have to kill you if I go find someone else."

This was all that the soldier of Vegeta needed to hear before nodding against Rize's grip. He wheezed when Rize let him fall to the ground.

"Try to double cross me and I'll erase you from this plane of existence before you can put the word out." Rize crouched to lessen the distance between them. "Where are the prisoners being kept?"

"The lowest level. There is an elevator at the end of the hall that will take you directly to their quarters." He gasped the answer from his kneeling position. He was trying to use the wall to help him stand when he noticed a large ball of Ki in front of him. "Wait! I told you what you wanted to know!"

"Yes, and for that I thank you, but you and your men made the mistake of taking two of mine. That is punished by death!"Rize knew that the internal explosion would no doubt bring attention to his location, but he no longer needed to hide. He made the decision to take over the ship from the inside.

The Klaruz prince flew through the hallways at break-neck speed while his small red shoulder cape billowed as he blasted scores of soldiers that dared get in his way. The tall young man reached the double doors of the elevator and ripped them open. He noticed the rope in the center moving and the elevator approaching down to him, so he did the only sensible thing of cutting the rope.

The occupants screeched as they passed him on the way down. He followed suit and jumped in after the falling elevator.

The dust from the crashed elevator covered the vision all those in the lowest level. Prisoners and captors alike coughed from the uplifted dirt and smoke. That all stopped when a golden aurora blew the smoke away, and left a very angry Rize at the base of the elevator. He shifted through the shattered remains of the elevator and tossed any large piece of solid material of to the side.

The moment the guards noticed the young prince, they reached for their blasters, but Rize had already launched a ball of Ki at each of them. Most didn't even get to scream before they were vanquished. Four trails of smoke was all that remained of the once guards.

"Captain Rize?!"A voice from one of the cages came.

He approached the bars from where he heard his name. There he spotted the two scouts that had been missing. "I see you are both here. Good."

"Captain, what are you doing here?" the other scout asked perplexed to see his leader on the other side of the cage.

"No soldier of mine shall be left behind. That was my father's motto and it's the same one I carry. I'm here to bring you back to our team. Stand back." Rize pulled the bars until they gave way, and one by one he made a large enough gap to let his soldiers through. He could see a variety of other prisoners there as well. All three cages were full of captives, but Rize was here mainly for his men. "Why were you not able to break free yourself? He asked while sealing the same opening he made."

"It's these cuffs," one of them said once outside of the cage. "They limit our power, and we can't amass enough strength to break them."

"I see." The golden-haired young prince thoroughly inspected gadget. After a few minutes the Super Saiyan lifted and arm and readied himself to break through it. As his hand came down a desperate plea stopped him in his tracks.

"Don't do that!"shouted a man from a different cage. The old man with brownish skin color gripped the bars as cried out, and all the other captives had moved as far back as possible within their respective jail cell. "They are set to explode if someone tampers with them. You'll blow us all up if you break it."

The two scouts looked at one another in fear, while Rize lifted the gadget closer to his eye to see any way to disengage the device. "Tell me!" he barked, "How, then, can I dispose of these without harming my men!"

"The guards had the keys to open them, but you left no trace of them. They can't be opened by force, but maybe someone else on this ship might have another key," the old man reasoned.

Rize angrily scratched his hair, internally berating himself for coming Ki blazing without thinking of at least holding one of the guard's captive. At least there was the option of finding someone else that also may hold a key.

One of the scouts, an older gentleman, scrutinized the old man behind the bars until his eyes opened wide. "Well I don't believe it, Coronel Ska'Lera! What is a traitor like you doing here?"

Rize's ear peeked at the name. Coronel Ska'Lera was a known traitor of the alliance, who sold himself and the alliance to King Vegeta and the PTO. "Is this true?" Rize stepped towards the cage and reached inside to pull the prisoner when he tried to sink back within the other prisoners.

The old man, known as Ska'Lera, averted his gaze from the younger prince. "You have me mistaken for someone else." He tried to pull back.

"You've aged Ska'Lera, but I know the face of a despicable person like you. My grandfather sends his regards by the way, but that doesn't change the fact that because of your betrayal he almost perished."Rize's teal irises were beginning to burn and change to all red. The edges began to release smoke as Rize's aurora became ever more violent.

The younger scout decided to intervene. "Captain, we can focus on the traitor in a little while, but the enemy is almost upon us. What are your commands?"

The Super Saiyan snarled and eventually launched the old man back to the other inmates. He shook his head and rubbed his eyes until they returned to only teal irises. He reached for the table and took two blasters and gave it to each of his scouts. "Since you can't access your Ki, use these blasters in the mean time. Wait here, I'm going to take full control of the ship."

At that moment other soldiers of King Vegeta arrived through the elevator opening, and Rize immediately began putting people down; trying to take them out in a fashion that their remains still existed, for searching afterwards.

Flashback over

"It didn't take long before the ship was vacant of any of King Vegeta's men. Whether they escaped on the own or fell by my hand, soon the whole ship was under my command. Locating another individual with a key took some time, but we found it nonetheless." Rize allowed a small breath escape his lips as he looked down at his reflection. "I should have taken care of him when I had the chance," he muttered.

Gohan's concern eyes glanced at the oversized armored young man to his side. He wanted to stop him from continuing his story, but at the same time Gohan noticed Rize's depression lessen as he poured his heart out. So Gohan did the only reasonable thing and allowed him to keep going.

After a few minutes of twiddling his fingers, Rize picked up where he left off. "Once I contacted La'dyo about my success, he informed me that some units of Katteru had also joined in the mist of my absence. As a sign of good faith, we released the men PTO held that that belonged to Katteru's alliance, and any other prisoner were taken by my men for processing and possibly release, pending they were not wanted by our side. In the end only Ska'Lera remained.

"I never knew the man personally. I was but a boy when he defected and turned against us. He saw King Vegeta as the most likely winner if our forces were to meet in combat. With a number of plans in hand, Ska'Lera provided King Vegeta with the battle formations and patrol schedules. King Vegeta then took this information and attempted to destroy my father's alliance as well as his life.

"It was a time of change on Klaruz, my grandfather was about to step down and hand the throne to my parents, but King Vegeta wanted to kill my father before this happen. His little minion almost killed my mother instead when they attacked the capital. My father was waging war on a different planet, so he knew not of my mother's peril. My grandfather, on the other hand, stepped in and took the hit for my mother. He survived, if only barely, but it didn't take long to figure out who was behind the attack and how they managed to infiltrate our home world. Since then my father had placed Ska'Lera on a list so heinous, that calls for his immediate death upon sight."

Gohan raised both eyebrows at this. "That sounds extremely radical to me."

"Maybe so," Rize commented, "but my father believes that an attack on his family deems him worthy of such an extreme measure. Would you not agree, father?"

Gohan shrugged. "I've always been taught to give people second chances, but it appears that the me of that time never learned that lesson. Still, to a certain degree, I agree that someone that attacks my family should be held accountable. In any case, this isn't about differing ideologies. What happened to …Ska'Lera was it?"

The maroon-haired fighter nodded. "La'dyo insisted that we hold my father's word and kill him. I agreed until the traitorous coronel made his final plea. He spoke that he was taken against his will, that something was controlling him when he betrayed our people, and that he never wanted to divulge the information that was given to the PTO. He cried a foul had been committed against him, and now he was turned into a villain in the eyes of my parents. The old man begged to not be slain for the crimes he had no control over."

The armored warrior gave a dry snort. "It actually made me pity him. My guess is that he saw the weakness in my heart and played me for the foolish prince that I was." Rize stopped for a moment to release a hopeless laugh. "He told tall tales that even though he was under the spell of King Vegeta, he remembered things; weakness, battle plan, and many more. He enticed me with this information, and only asked that I provide him a fair trial. Ska'Lera said he would impart all the information he still retained regardless of the trial's verdict. All he wanted was to tell his side of the story, and I would gain the information my father sought.

"La'dyo maintained that the best option was my father's order, but I refused to listen. I saw the information as a gift from the Kai themselves, and if in one action I could attain that data while at the same time allowing a possibly innocent man a chance at redemption, then I would be a fool to not grant him that right. Against the opinion of La'dyo, I ordered a return to Klaruz to deliver the prisoner." The maroon haired individual pulled the few strand of hair in his face behind his ear.

"I believe one solar cycle had taken place since our departure to the outer edges of the alliance border. The entire way back I was welcomed by my men with open arms for the selfness I showed in bringing back our scouts." He turned to Gohan with a frantic expression. "They began to see me as more than a prince!"

"When we arrived, I relieved most of my men to their family. La'dyo offered to walk the traitorous coronel to the senate, while I could meet up with mother. The shackled prisoner calmly walked with La'dyo and the few men he kept until Ska'Lera was in the hands of the Royal Guards. I found my mother and began relaying all that had happened to us since my departure; however it was when our conversation got to the reason of my early return, that she began to reprimand me for ignoring my father's decree. At that moment we heard and felt an explosion within the castle grounds.

"The carnage was almost indescribable, the air was filled with a grotesque odor, and the smoke did not let anyone peer into the madness of the senate chamber. Eventually the dark clouds of uplifted dirt settled, and we got our first look at the aftermath. Father, I can't even explain how much despair I felt at that moment, but my pain was far from over. La'dyo, who had been my trainer, my father's right hand man, and the father of my childhood friend La'vuren, laid dead! How can I ever face her knowing that her father perished because of me?!" he shouted.

Gohan tilted his head in confusion. "Wait, what happened? I mean how could it have been your fault?"

Rize's eyes rimmed with moisture as he licked his dry lips. "It was! I was so blinded by the information, that I took a traitor that was marked for dead into a room of high officials of the alliance. To this day, we don't know how he managed to get his hands on the weapons he whipped out when he stood before the senate.

"The events that took place in that chamber are still under investigation. All that I know is that Ska'Lera stood before the representatives of the alliance and somehow managed to take out a weapon to opened fire on them. This in turned cause havoc as the representative rushed to exit the room, while the guards accused my men of brining an armed man before the senate and betraying the crown. They fired on my men, while my men tried to restore order by apprehending Ska'Lera. Eventually my men had to return fire on the guards as an act of self-defense. I've heard that La'dyo tried to reason in the mist of the chaos but was killed for his efforts.

"The last words spoken in that chamber were: 'Long Live King Vegeta,' followed by an explosion induced by Ska'Lera. Everyone that died that day, died because of my selfishness. La'dyo warned me that Ska'Lera could be a trap, but I ignored him, and he died for my sin." Rize rested his head in his hands. "I was made into a fool, but King Vegeta will pay for the injustices against my men and those that perished that day.

"Of that, I swear!"

AN: I will be honest, I wasn't a complete fan of this chapter as I felt it only recycled a lot of what happened in the last chapter with a few more details. I'm still trying to figure out how I will present Origins in future chapters. This was my trial at this style, and maybe the Origin will be radically different in order to see if a different style is what it needs to better present the history of one of the OCs. I really want Origins to work because it will give a reader a better idea of some of these OCs because sometimes it's hard to take an OC seriously when we know nothing about them. I'm open to suggestions for changes, as well as what you thought about this chapter.

I hope that I answered any question about Rize and his backstory, but if you still have any, then I'll be happy to answer them. Or clear up any misunderstandings.

A few more notes about Rize that I could not fit into the chapter:

1. He is 18 years old (by Earth standards). Making him just as old as Gohan. He is also the tallest of all the children because the people of Klaruz are naturally tall and especially the royal family.

2. Although he is wearing formal royal armor, he can take it off and will do so soon.

3. Gohan of Rize's universe, left Earth in the hopes to find Goku but never found him. The Earth dragon tried to bring him back to Earth when Chichi found out that Gohan had run out, but he declined to go back similar to how Goku declined to be brought back. Gohan still believes that his father is out there in the universe, and doesn't know that Goku already got back to Earth. The dragon refused to become a telephone to Gohan for the Earthlings, so he just delivered the message that Gohan is looking for Goku. He gave his word that he would protect Klaruz after seeing all the destruction from the war, and since his marriage to Raza (Rize's mother), the idea of going back into space to find Goku has slipped to the back of his concerns. Now he focuses on protecting his new home. He hopes that one day he can go back out to space to find Goku, but has promised himself that this will only happen until Klaruz is safe and the war ends.

4. Vegeta never returned to Earth. He instead became the leader of the Planet Trade Organization.

5. It's worth noting that Gohan and Vegeta did meet in combat, and Gohan ascended during their battle. Vegeta managed to scurry before Gohan could end Vegeta.

6. Ska'Lera was not brainwashed, and he kamikaze as the final stand against Rize's home world and to show his devotion to Vegeta. He took a risk and acted like one of the prisoners in the hopes that someone from the alliance would capture the ship, and hopefully he would be taken to the capital for trial. He just didn't know that he had been marked for dead on the spot until La'dyo informed him of Gohan's decree.

Dear nancy103,

I'm not sure if it's worse than Vegeta has for Frieza. I mean the Ice-jin did kill Vegeta's home world, while Rize blames Vegeta for the death of his mentor and the humiliation he and his team have suffered since. I think to a certain extent Rize is 'blaming' Vegeta, but deep down he is angry at himself for falling for Vegeta's trick. Hopefully over time he will be able to see that a mistake is a mistake, and I think Gohan Prime is the perfect candidate to guide him out of his depression, after all Gohan has some experience in this field after the Cell games.

Dear Smithback,

Origins will be their own chapter, and the next chapter of the main story should be done soon, so I'll upload it as soon as it's done. 'Origins' chapters are basically optional to read.

Dear Engineer of Epicness,

I would have to spoil the story in order to answer the question but remember that Ryoko mentioned that this universe was tailor made for Prime.
