Chapter 7: Sibling Rivalry

AN: If anyone is here for 'A Daughter's Difference,' which honestly at this point I doubt it is many, the chapter is complete and just under review. Prime Objective goes through no beta so that is why it is being updated more often. I can post it as soon as I'm done with the chapter. The only downside is that probably there is more grammar mistakes. Also, I barely got any feedback on the format for Origins, so I guess I will just continue doing something similar. Thanks Smithback for reviewing it.

One week had passed since the arrival of Gohan's children. All eleven had begun to adjust to their new surroundings. While some excelled and quickly adapted to the new universe, others still struggled to fully accept some of their new relatives, and the close quarters they lived to one another.

A buddy system had been placed where two of the new arrivals remained awake at all times, and would rotate one of the two at certain amount of time. They were set to keep a perimeter and alert anyone of any intruder.

During this week, no more attacks or even a single sound came from Dekaido and his army. It slightly unnerved a few of the fighters to the utter silence on the other camp, following the great number of Roosen forces they fought the week before. Ryoko, while impassive at times, assured the others that this was probably part of Dekaido's plan to shake them and catch them off- guard. He insisted for all to keep an eye open on their surrounding, but at the same time pleaded for all to take a deep breath of air and calm down. He expressed that being vigilant is a good thing but going too far could lead to mistakes and seeing things that might not be there, leading to hyperawareness and delusions.

On a different front, Gohan had to go home and explain to his mother what had happened the day of their arrival. She had watched through the television the aftermath of Dekaido's army versus the children of Gohan, and greatly worried for the safety of her first born due to the proximity of the battlefield to Satan City. It wasn't until late at night that she saw Gohan arrive with another young girl with her hair held in black buns on each side and wearing a sleeveless blue fighting dress.

Chichi had gotten snippet from Trunks, who arrived earlier to play with Goten, and Bulma as she traveled back home. Still, the information they provided was not sufficient to her as they explained they only heard half of the story. It brought her a sense of relief that at least Gohan was alright.

When Gohan arrived, he informed her of the current danger and filled the areas Bulma and Trunks missed. Gohan revealed his true nature to her as a Prime, and that the person accompanying him was none other than her grandchild Chika. Any other housewife in Chichi's place might have screamed or even fainted, but for Chichi this was not the first child from the future she had the pleasure of meeting. It surprised her to hear that eleven grandchildren were currently residing on the other side of the mountain and reprimanded Gohan for not bringing the others for her to meet.

In the end Gohan saved himself by stating that most had gone to sleep after the day they had. Each had been given a simple capsule home by Bulma, and most choose to sleep on the chaotic day they experienced. He had only come since he knew she would worry if he didn't at least come in person to let her know that he was okay. Chika had volunteered to see after him on the off chance he might be attacked on the way to the Son household.

Chichi demanded Gohan also head off to sleep since he still had school the next day, but Gohan chose to disregard the order. He explained that he would not place the other students in harm's way just because she wanted him to listen to a teacher spout off about something he learned long ago. It took a few hours but finally Chichi, begrudgingly, allowed Gohan to take some time off school in order to deal with this threat. With that stated, Gohan chose to reside with the other children for the time being, but promised to at least bring the other children soon.

Finally we arrive to today, the sun begun to peak over the horizon and elongate the shadows of eleven small domes across the vast grassy plain. The scars of the once pristine land told the tale of numerous battles that had taken place since it was taken over by the travelers from distant universes.

As the sun ray lighted the fields, an auburn-haired teen stood on one leg balancing himself, all the while holding in his extended hand a golden Bō staff. He opened his eyes to reveal jade green irises shining back at the sun. With a single jump he passed the staff to hold in front of him as he gripped the long staff horizontally with both hands. In the air he continuously pumped his arms back and forth making the Bō staff stop when it rested on either side of his hips.

A drop of sweat glided down his freckled face. He took the weighted staff with on hand and began to spin it using his fingers to keep the rotation going until he moved it above his head. A huff escaped his lips as his eyes slowly tracked his inching other hand to where his fingers were busy whirling the large rod. With a quick movement he replaced his fingers with the fingers of the other hand and continued spinning without interruption.

He laughed when the pole continued its rotational trek. "Come on, come on," he repeated continuously whilst his forearm tensed to keep the staff where it was. The freckled boy looked down for a moment before, with a might scream, he dropped from the air. A few meters from the ground he stopped the rotation by clutching the golden Bō staff and slammed it into the ground as his feet hit the dirt. A small crater formed around the young man's feet.

"So…how did I do?" the boy cheekily asked the staff's owner, who stood at the edge of the indention. He continued to move the rod back and forth to liberate it from the ground.

The lavender skinned beauty grinned before responding, "Much better. This time you didn't lose the staff when you made the exchange from one hand to the other. Still, this cavity was created more so from your landing then the staff's power. Remember that the staff must be fueled an equal amount of Ki throughout the whole ordeal or it won't work. In any case, keep it up Rem."

"Basically what you're saying, setting the sugar-coating aside, is that I still failed. Well that's a bummer. You know from just looking at it, this doesn't look like anything more than a gold staff, but it's pretty heavy when you're working with it. How is it that you make it so easy Kyra?" Rem made his way out of the small hole he made with the help of Kyra. Once on level field, he handed her back her golden Bō staff.

The scantly bronze armor wearing fighter took the rod back and immediately performed a quick sequence of movements that heavily emphasized her control over the staff. "Year of practice," Kyra said when she finished. "If you think I'm good, you should see my father. He was my instructor and taught me everything I know about how to properly use my Bō staff."

Kyra and Rem were currently assigned to guard duty, so Rem took the time to find out more about this sister, and hopefully cut short some of time on their clock. Anytime auburn-haired teen was paired with Kyra, he took the time to hopefully learn how to wield the Bō staff. At first it befuddled Rem how much the staff weighed, and the ease Kyra used it as an extension of her body. Slowly he was making progress with it, but it embarrassed him to hear that the one small kata he was doing a few minutes ago was only the first stage of training, and he had yet to master it.

"I've been meaning to ask; why do you use a weapon when fighting? Most of us just use out own two fists," he stated while slamming one fist into the open palm of the other hand. "I've seen you fight, and I know that you're versed in hand combat. So what's so important about this staff that you feel the need to include it?"

"It is more for symbolic reasons then actual combat," Kyra quickly answered. "This staff represents my status as the strongest of my generation. Like my father holds his own staff as the strongest of his generation. It is an honor to hold this treasured tool of combat and incorporate it into our fighting ability like my venerable ancestors before me."

Rem bobbed his head in acknowledgement. "So how did you get the 'honor' of getting the Bō staff? A tournament perhaps?"

Kyra continued her morning exercise but took the first possible moment to answer Rem's question. "Yes, a tournament. Every five solar cycles, the people of my planet gather from far lands to enter the competition. The people are divided into groups based on generation. All the children in one generation will face one another regardless of age difference, like my father will face the people of his generations, the parents of the children in other words, and so forth.

"My father has held his staff since his arrival on our planet, and I, as my father's first child, reign supreme ever since I was seven. At this point only my siblings give me a bit of trouble, but I have held this nevertheless. They are the only ones with a Saiyan gene, so…" Kyra tried to formulate her words but was at a loss at the moment.

"They are the only ones strong enough to even spar," Rem supplied with a chuckle.

Their conversation was cut short after hearing an aggravated scream piercing the serene atmosphere of the morning dew. This was followed by a number of swearwords thrown between two individuals. Rem and Kyra immediately ran to the origin of the yelling. The sight before them had each shaking their head in disappointment, as they saw their resident troublemakers were already at it.

Cerevak and Fuyu had not given up their fight throughout the whole week. It had gotten so bad that each had to be assigned jobs where they wouldn't interact with one another, since all it took was one small glance to send them into a frenzy of punches.

Currently Cerevak was straddling over Fuyu with his hands around her neck trying to choke her. The tailed Saiyan looked ready to murder someone with his snarling expression. Fuyu on the other hand looked amused even when pinned on the ground. Her large tail began to wiggle out from under her.

"TAKE…IT…BACK!" Cerevack shouted while picking up her head and slammed her cranium down with each syllable pronounced. Rem tried to pull Cerevak off Fuyu, however Cerevak's tail coiled around Rem's wrist and threw him across the grassy plain. "Stay out of this! This bit-" His vocals were cut-off when the Ice-jin's tail wrapped around his neck.

The purple eyed Fuyu smirked as she pulled Cerevak back, but the tailed Saiyan was not giving up without a fight. Even as his head was being pulled back, Cerevak continued to put more pressure around her windpipe. Finally the pulling effect was too much for Cerevak to overcome, and he had to release her or face the possibility of a broken neck.

Fuyu massaged her bruised and scratched neckline; all the while the dark tan Cerevak continued to attempt at freeing himself. She held him a few inches off the ground, but it was all that she needed to stop the raging Cerevak. The white haired alien brought him closer to deliver a continuous amount of jabs at his midsection, making the already choking Saiyan gurgle any complaint.

"That's enough!" Kyra exclaimed as she held onto the Ice-jin hybrid's forearm. "You've made your point, so let him go before there is some irreversible damage." A recovering Rem took a hold of her other arm to stop her from striking Kyra.

Fuyu growled, "Don't you dare touch me." With some strain, the white haired daughter of Gohan pulled both arms to meet in the center, so Kyra and Rem were forced to butt heads. She was about to continue her onslaught when she noticed Cerevak's eyes were teal. Fuyu swiftly released him and formed a strong enough Ki ball to send him off into the distance.

She could see him already making his way back, so she decided to meet him halfway. Over the river, both floated in the air assessing one another. The Super Saiyan Cerevak cracked his neck to recommence their battle.

"I'm going to make you eat dirt for what you said about my mom," Cerevak remarked.

Fuyu bit her lip to hold the laughter yet in the end she released her euphoria. "You've said some displeasing thing about my own, so why can't I repay the favor. If you're going to make me eat dirt then come on Monkey-boy, unless you're scared since most of the time I'm kicking your ass."

Within seconds Cerevak crossed the previous distance between them. The golden haired Saiyan thrust his knuckles across Fuyu's exoskeleton-covered cheek. The Ice-jin hybrid, for her part, shifted back but quickly used the same momentum to flip in the air and stamped her feet into his sternum.

Cerevak howled when he felt the bones in his chest begin to cave and place pressure on his lungs. He gripped her ankle with both hands and twisted to force a turnaround by Fuyu. The tailed Saiyan lifted Fuyu over his head and launched her down to the river below.

As the puple eyed Fuyu fell, she summoned a number of purple Ki orbs and shot them at her recovering brother. Cerevak had enough time to emit a small 'eep' before the balls of Ki overcame him. From the cloud of smoke the tailed Saiyan broke through the bottom and quickly descended without control to the forest below.

***Line Break***

Rem and Kyra looked on from the edge of their settlement. Rem broke the silence by chiding both fighters from afar, "This is just getting childish. And this is coming from me." The only one to hear him however was Kyra.

They watched as both fighters ascended from the forest top and immediately engage in another physical combat, with the occasional Ki use in between.

The lavender-skinned beauty turned to her small companion. "Does anyone know the reason why those two can't get along?"

Rem shrugged but added, "Just that Cerevak's people hate the Ice-jins, so he refuses to accept her as a daughter of Gohan. While Fuyu has kept quiet, but I think Fuyu hates when someone speaks badly about her parents and Cerevak continuously taunts Fuyu.

***Line Break***

"HAAAA!" The tailed Saiyan continued to pour more Ki out through cupped hand in front. The large blue beam pierced through the morning sky. "How do you like me now?!" His eyes widened while abruptly cutting off the feed to the beam, when he noticed a certain Ki behind him.

A gold aura flashed, as he turned to face a scowling Ice-jin hybrid in her Super Saiyan glory. "Personally I think you're obnoxious child that I would have killed long ago if it wasn't because your also one of my father's children. But my patience is drying and soon even that won't save you from my fury."

Cerevak wiped the blood trailing from the corner of his mouth. "Don't act like you're doing me a favor. You Ice-jins never care for family, so I'm supposed to believe that you are different from them. Please, go to someone else with those lies."

Both Super Saiyans clashed once again in a flurry of punches and kicks. It became evident to Cerevak as they continued that Fuyu had the advantage in terms of power, but that didn't deter him in the least bit. The only problem was that he was suffering most of the damage, and aside from a few bruises, Fuyu persisted without any sign of slowing.

Eventually Cerevak broke from their melee combat. Amid the small distance, he placed both hands over his head with extended fingers while he called out, "Solar Flare!"

"That was cheap!" Fuyu argued while rubbing her closed eyes. She backed away and repeatedly opened her eyes but couldn't see anything more than white. "You dirty low life. This better be temporary, just you wait, I will make you pay when I get my vision back!"

"I doubt it," whispered a voice from behind her. The Ice-jin elbowed the area she heard the sound but came back empty. Her head weaved from side to side trying to find anything that could tell her where her brother was located.

Cerevak rotated in mid air to gather momentum and smash his heel to her temple. He quickly flew to catch up alongside her and slammed his elbow into the exposed purple skin midsection of Fuyu. She spit the fluids in her mouth as her trajectory changed to vertical rather than the previous diagonal fall.

"You see in this week of fighting you," Cerevak began at the same time he landed a few meter from where Fuyu's body crashed in the forest, "I noticed something. You didn't wear a scouter in our first meeting because it helped translating languages like Rize, but because you don't have the ability to sense someone's Ki. When your vision is impaired like right now… Solar Flare!" he quickly added when he noticed her blinking eyes, and figured her vision was already returning.

A gutted rasp escaped her lips while clutching her eyes once again.

"When your vision is impaired," he repeated before continuing, "you're nothing more than a sitting duck. For all the power you have from your Ice-jin and Saiyan transformations, something as simple as Ki sense seems to be your flaw." Cerevak pressed his heel into her tail. This action was quickly followed by a rise and fall of his foot to her tail continuously. "Do you submit? Do you take back what you said about my family?"

The purple-skinned Ice-jin smiled through the blood leaking from her mouth. "I never submit." Her aura blasted around her pushing the surprised tailed Saiyan back to a tree trunk. "I may not be able to see you right now, but I can still use my other sense in the mean time."

Cerevak forced his grounded body to stand. By the time he was vertical; Fuyu had already seized him by the neck and pushed his body into the same tree trunk. She rubbed her eyes and this time Fuyu could barely see his outline through the vast whiteness.

Fuyu noticed his hands were rising, and instantly knew what the Saiyan was about to do. She took one of the rising hands and slammed it against the bark. "Not this time," she growled.

Cerevak, upon seeing his advantage was slowly slipping away, decided to use the leverage to drive his knee to her chin. When her grasp on him weakened, he took the moment to evade her and fly straight up and away from her. Fuyu quickly gave chase and floated a few meters away from him. Once again both stood opposite of one another, though this time they were gasping and panting to recover some of the air they desperately needed.

With a war cry, Cerevak cocked his fist back and dashed towards Fuyu. Not one to be outdone, Fuyu responded by an equal battle cry and sped towards her brother. Just as they were about to meet, a third party member stood in their destine location of impact. A shirtless Gohan watched as both stopped short of striking him. Cerevak huffed as he barely managed to stop a few inches from his father's extended hand, while Fuyu slowed her leg to rest softly on his other extended hand.

Gohan, armed in only his sky blue stripped pajama pants, slowly released the Ice-jin's leg. His expression remained stoic, but both fighters noticed a twinge of annoyance. "It's a little early for the both of you, is it not? We have yet to even eat breakfast, but already you two are fighting."

"Father, you see—" Fuyu attempted to explain herself, but Gohan wasn't have any of it. Her tone of voice had substantially softened with the arrival of Gohan. It was something the other had briefly noticed, that whenever Fuyu talked to her father, her tone dramatically decreased from the imposing and angry tone she held for anyone else.

"I don't want to hear any excuses Fuyu!" Gohan chided. "Stop snickering Cerevak!" he added when he noticed the tailed boy covering his mouth. "I'm really disappointed Fuyu, you're older than him yet you two act like you're half your ages."

In the week that pass, Gohan often times had to interject himself between the two. At first he was a little worried, but it didn't take long for Gohan to figure out that both of them could be in the middle of a fierce fight, yet they would drop everything the moment he stood in front of them. "I can't be here every time you two decided that it's time to destroy and rearrange our surrounding. Some of us just went to sleep not that long ago, and the last thing I want to hear is that I need to wake up because you two can't place nice with one another.

"We need to have a nice conversation about this because I will not stand as you two tear each other apart. For now, both of you are to go to your room and stay there until lunch time. I don't want to see either of you out and about, and I'll be talking to each of you in that time."

Cerevak tilted his head in confusion. "Wait, so how do we get breakfast?"

Gohan shook his head. "You guys should have thought about that before. Now to your rooms!"

Fuyu didn't argue and only gave a small bow before dashing to her room. Cerevak, on the other hand, was peeved with no breakfast and wanted to argue, but he saw his father's conviction and decided to not try his luck. "Freaking Ice-jin," he muttered as he flew to his small capsule home on the opposite side of the settlement of Fuyu.

Gohan rubbed his forehead in exasperation. He too made his way back to the two that had alerted him of the fight. Gohan set down right in front of Kyra and Rem, who were still watching from their earlier post. "I don't know who said that being a father is manageable, but whoever did never met those two," he quipped.

"Honestly I'm more worried that their little spats will eventually draw attention to this camp site. We don't know what kind of capabilities Dekaido has, but I don't doubt for a second, that if this continues, their fights will be like a glowing neon sign pointing here," the auburn haired teen remarked.

Kyra hide her chuckled behind her hand before speaking, "That was very insightful of you, Rem. Here I though you and your brother were only pranksters." As a way to liven up the place, Rem and Vasco had been traced to many small mischief gags throughout the week.

"Hey!" Rem replied indignantly to the summary Kyra had of him.

Gohan piled on as well. "She's right. I didn't think you were capable of such a thoughtful and perceptive comment."

"What! Not you too dad," the freckled boy huffed while crossing his arms.

"In any case, I will have a talk with both of them. Don't worry Rem," Gohan amended. "By the way, have you guys seen Ryoko? I noticed he is not here."

"He left pretty early and is at Capsule Corp. right now. My guess is that he is still tinkering with those guns that we recovered from the Roosen's soldiers," affirmed Rem.

The Bō staff wielder kept a continuous gaze of her father's form. Her saffron irises stared with unrepentant shine. "You know father, seeing you right now, I can see why mother and my aunts fell for you; or how you are still one of the most vied males of our domain."

"…what?!" Gohan choked out after that comment that came out of nowhere to him.

Rem adopted a perplexed look as well before he noticed where her eyes were roaming across Gohan's exposed upper body. He shook the shiver that developed along his spine. He threw his hands in the air as he walked away. "I did not to hear that. That is so wrong on sooo many levels Kyra."

Coming to a similar conclusion, Gohan took on a sheepish smile while a red tint spread across his face.

Rem was trying to erase what he just heard when he noticed Zene approaching him.

The Hera smiled. "Hey Rem, I'm tagging in for you. Your shift is over."

"Zene, you could not have come at a better time. Have fun," he approved as he walked away.

Kyra tilted her head in confusion. "I'm sorry did I break another social norm of Earth? Father, why did Rem act that way?" Over time the others had noticed that Kyra's culture and background were very distinct from their own.

Gohan bashfully smiled while trying to find a way to explain this one. "Ah… you see… your comments and your gaze could be taken as if 'you' want something…more. Do you understand?" Upon seeing her confused look he tried once more. "That you and I… you know." Gohan added hand gestures to help illustrate his point.

As if a light bulb went off, Kyra's eyes widened and her mouth gapped before sputtering, "I-no-you-" Her lavender cheeks burned red as she tripped over her own words. "I-I-I didn't mean it that way. I mean you're great…ah…I am so sorry father." She quickly bowed.

A thoroughly embarrassed and half clothed Gohan only raised both eyebrows in acknowledgement. "I'm going to go put on a shirt. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Keep up the good work Kyra."

The blushing Bō staff wielder piped, "Thank you sir, and I'm sorry once again father!"

The blue-skinned Zene tapped her sister from another universe when she stood next to her. Kyra jumped from the sudden contact and quickly drew her Bō staff. "Woah," Zene appeased by raising both hands in a sign of surrender. "I come in peace."

"Sorry," drawled Kyra.

"What happened here?" Zene nudged her when she retracted her weapon of choice.

The lavender skinned young woman only muttered a simple, "Please don't ask." Her cheek had yet to regain their color and her composure was definitely shot out, so much so that it took Zene to inform her that they had company arriving.

"It appears that those girls are almost here," Zene casually announced, referring to Videl and Erasa, while looking at her fidgeting sister. Zene thought with devious smile that whatever happened here must be extremely juicy to make the usual calm and collected Kyra into a nervous wreck. It was the type of story that she was going to have to grill Rem into telling her.

"I'll go call Pan and Vanee," Kyra volunteered to hopefully calm herself in the process.

"Go ahead; I'll greet them when they arrive."

AN: Well it appears that Gohan is easing his way into the father role. Cerevak and Fuyu just can't seem to get along, but lets hope that Gohan can knock some sense into both of them.

Dear Saiyan Kween,

Trust me, I prefer long reviews :) If you have any suggestions on how to fix the summary, then I'm all ears for how to improve it. I'm glad to hear that you took a leap of faith with this story and that you liked it. I knew a couple people would think that this is about Rize, so that is why I wrote at the end AN of the first chapter that this story would not be about him since he is only once piece in a larger game.

Moving on to mother, you are right in most of your guess but out of the list, three are wrong. Who did you think is Eighteen's child if I may ask?

Goku will be making a brief appearance, but it won't be until at least more than half way done mark. I couldn't find a good role for him, so that is why he is coming so late in the game.

Dear Smithback,

Vegeta always seems like he is insane. I'm glad that you liked Rize's story. When I started this story it was suppose to explorer the endless possibilities of what Gohan could do to change the timeline in a different direction. Rize's story would happen only if Gohan had left before Goku returned from Space.
