AN: Yeah... it's been a while. There are times I have long periods of writer's block, but usually I would focus on the other story on this account to get me out of it. I don't think I have ever had a situation where I have writer's block on both stories and starting a third story sounded ridiculous. To a certain extent I'm really mad at myself especially on the front of 'A Daughter's Difference' since the outline was written almost two years ago, and I'm still struggling writing a chapter I can be proud of. There have been so many drafts. This story was also a struggle. Originally it should have been the 'Origin- Son Kyra' and I wrote it, but I dislike what I wrote for her that I'm planning on scratching what I wrote and just starting over. In the mean time I just went ahead instead with another chapter for the story instead. So enjoy.
The sound of giggling permeated throughout the mostly dark room; along with the occasional shifting of water from the occupants. The pair continued to frolic in the water. The only light that entered this room came from windows that displayed the planet they were orbiting. The blue orb reflected the sunlight it received onto the satellite. The ship of Lord Dekaido continued its rotations as the commander of this vessels enjoyed one of the only pastime he had on the ship.
Both warriors settled along the walls of Lord Dekaido's bath. "You know," the females fighter spoke, "I always forget how amazing this feels." She rubbed some of water along her creamy skin. Her striped tail rose from the water before falling back down creating a splash. "Haven't I complained enough about how unfair it is that you have this place of solitude just to yourself? I mean I see why you never want to leave this bath and I always find you in here."
Dekaido let out a deep chuckle as his arms wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her back into his chest. His keen eye sparked amusement and watched as her tail broke the water surface aiming for his head. At the last second one of his arms disengaged and grabbed her appendage before it could make contact. "Come now Felyer, let's not ruin a good moment," whispered Dekaido as he rested his head on her shoulder.
A growl emanated from the golden-eyed beauty. "Then you should know better than holding me in this position Dekaido." Her tail, now released, slipped back into the water. Something that the male couldn't see behind her was the warm smile across the feature. She wouldn't admit it to anyone, and even less to the Saiyan, but she did enjoy that feeling of someone holding her like that. She was the leader of her den and there is no way she could show that kind of weakness; to show that kind of vulnerability.
The Saiyan grunted but did as he was told. His arms settled around the edge of his bath.
"Thank you." Felyer offered in a mocking tone of appreciation, yet when she was about to move she found that it was not possible. She didn't need see through the water to feel a furry tail holding her midsection. "Dekaido…" a low snarl came from the tigress-like female.
A more child-like laughter erupted from the warrior known to many as The Destroyer. "Two can play at that game," Dekaido stated in response to her earlier use of her tail. He released her and moved towards the windows showing the Earth below, much to Felyer's dismay.
The golden-eyed beauty's frown quickly turned to a neutral line as she made her way to the exit of his bath. She pulled herself out and took one of the towels on the rails to cover her. She ran her hand through her blond hair before incasing it in a towel as well. Sitting on the edge she looked out to the planet as well. "I trust you have your reasons. You know more about this planet then I do, but I can't deny that there are nights I wonder why we don't just go through a full invasion. You have more than enough fighters on this ship. Tear the world apart until we find this Son Gohan and end him."
"That was my plan when I first got here. I believe even when I was recruiting everyone that was the plan, but you fight a guy enough times and you begin to understand how he thinks." The Demi-Saiyan's head tilted and rested on his forearms.
"Are you talking about Son Gohan?" Felyer asked with a raised eyebrow.
Dekaido shook his head. "Ryoko," he simply stated. "If we were just fighting Son Gohan, I'm sure that fool would come himself and fight us directly. He has that hero complexion, but we are fighting a more cunning opponent. There is no doubt in my mind that Ry would knock his own father out and imprison Son Gohan if need be in a place that I would never find. No we need to be careful. When I arrived and I saw those children of Gohan, I knew this was going to be a lot more difficult."
"So what are you waiting for?" inquired Felyer. She got up and moved toward one of the many cabinets that lined the walls of his bathroom. Her tail twitched as she pulled an outfit from one the drawers. A repulsed Felyer quickly threw it back inside before moving to another in search for a better outfit.
"No way out." Dekaido calmly answered. "I need to make sure Ryoko has no way of hiding Son Gohan. I need to make sure I have appraised his strength and that of his comrades to ensure that there is no chance of failure. I don't like surprises on the battlefield or wildcards because that is the reason so many of us fail to beat the 'good guys.' You look at guys like Roosen and I would honestly be shocked if he and his whole group had two good brain cells between them all. The reason I beat Ry as many times as I have is simply because I take my time to think of things as if I were him and prepare counter-measures that he could potentially do. Does he do everything I anticipate him to do? No, but I can't tell you how many times I smile when he does exactly what I predicted and beat him to the punch. That is what I'm waiting for."
Having settled for an outfit, Felyer turned her attentions to the only other member in the room. "Seems like overkill to me," remarked the tigress-like warrior with a shrug. "But, if you believe it to be necessary, then I'll play along for now." She crossed the room to be alongside Dekaido. She grabbed him up by the hair eliciting a small yelp before she shut him up with a kiss. She pushed the kiss for a little longer than she would usually do it, but today she felt a little more devious. "That was for earlier. Today was fun, like usually, but I got to get back to my den. Next time you're sending a group down to Earth, I want to go stretch my legs on real ground."
Felyer slowly made her way out of the room, yet Dekaido had to have the last word. "Pull my hair again like that and I'll make sure you get buried in that ground." Felyer laughed as she looked over her shoulder at the peeved Dekaido. A part of her knew that she shouldn't be poking at him, but she could spot a hollow threat from a mile away.
Once she left the room Dekaido began to rub his head. "Ow," muttered to himself.
A static could be heard before a familiar feminine voice sounded overhead. Lord Dekaido. Good morning sir.
The voice of Obai acted like a cold shower for Dekaido. No longer was he rubbing his head, the owner of the ship sighed as he stood up and sat at the edge of his bath. His feet remained in the water, yet he was mentally preparing for the information to come. "Good morning Obai." The stoic man responded. "Do we have any new information or reports?"
Yes sir. Currently the ship we are tracking is still a great distance before it arrives to Earth. We were able to confirm that it is in fact Babi—
Dekaido cut off Obai. "Enough Obai. I should have been more specific. Tell me about Hemli. Do we have any new information or reports in relation to our current campaign?"
Yes sir. There is a final report for Hemli's operation.
Dekaido swallowed hard when he heard the word 'final.' "Is he alive?"
No sir. Would you like to hear the rest of the report?
"Yeah." Dekaido nodded. He knew the results after all he calculated this outcome, yet a part of him hoped that he would be wrong this one time. He gripped the side of his bath as he heard Obai drawled on.
The operation was overwhelming success. The information Hemli and his soldiers gathered was immediately uploaded to the ships mainframe and we were able to retain a 92% of recording and other data parameters they were instructed to get. Our techs are currently working on deciphering and publishing the final results in regards the children of Gohan and their maximum potential. All videos are being sorted to make a proper timeline of the operations, and we should have holographic recreations no later than tomorrow afternoon.
Unfortunately there were no survivors, so there will be no live testimony of the events that happen in 439 East District.
"No Survivors?!" exclaimed Dekaido. A shocked look overtook him as his eyes darted back and forth. 'Unthinkable! I knew there could be great amounts of casualties and it was a suicide mission, but I assumed that a few would be able to come back. What are you playing at Ryoko? This isn't like you.' His eyes perked up as he repeated the information that Obai had given him and something puzzled him. "Wait you said that we were able to get 92% of the information, what happened to the other 8%?"
There was a small pause before Obai received the information to the lord's question. There appears to have been a glitch towards the end of the battle.
"A glitch? Obai you're not one for having malfunctions."
No sir. There were no problems with the ships capabilities to receive data from their transmitters. However, this issue appears to come from the ground forces. Something overloaded some transmitters and a large group was in the middle of transmission, so the ship received partial and incomplete data. My mainframe is currently still trying to patch and salvage some of these corrupted data packages. There is no immediate answer to what was this surge, but our ship did receive feedback at similar time that the transmitters went offline.
The Saiyan rubbed his hands across his face. "So what you're trying to tell me is that 'overwhelming success' of an operation failed to record the end of the conflict and I lost an entire army?! Is that what you call success?!" Dekaido was pissed. There was a good chance that this whole thing was for nothing, and Hemli's sacrifice was pointless.
Sir, while most transmitters did go out towards the end of the conflict, there were a few that were able to record the entire battle. They manage to evade the surge that turned most transmitters' offline. From these few that worked we have 95% confidence that we can extrapolate the final data points for some of the children of Gohan.
"That still means there is a 5% chance that you could be wrong?" snapped Dekaido. He could feel that migraine pulsating.
Y-Yes sir.
Dekaido swung his legs and landed outside of his bath. He began to pace as he went through all the information. He only stopped for a moment to grab a robe and allowed his tails to poke out and wrap around his waist. "Did the ship get any information or record anything from the battle?"
No sir. The ship was not configured to remain stationary and record from above.
"And I'm sure Gohan and his children have probably left for a new home. Obai I want everyone on the deck to prepare. I want the ship to deploy the small satellites to check from any ship leaving Earth, leave no space that isn't monitored by someone on deck." The Demi-Saiyan kept trying to make sense of everything, yet he was feeling something was off. "I doubt that Ryoko would try leaving Earth, but clearly there is a wildcard that I haven't accounted for and I need to cover all bases. Raise the alert level so everyone on the ship is aware that we could move at any moment. I need you to work overtime to get me that information on Ryoko and his comrades as soon as possible and schedule a meeting with all the generals for tomorrow afternoon."
There was a heavy wiring sound throughout the whole ship. The next sound was number of objects that were ejected from the ship. Dekaido watched from his window as the satellites moved into their respective places; creating a net around the entire planet.
Dekaido's eyes narrowed as he looked down at the planet. "We move on to the next phase of our plan Obai."
Yes sir.
"I hate wildcards," whispered Dekaido.
AN: Here is to hoping it's not another two years. I want to thank Kitsunelove300 for the kick I needed to get back into it.
Dear nancy103,
;)
I don't think he has much of a choice. He has to reconcile if he hopes to accomplish his duty of protecting Gohan.
