"Victor and Gloria arrived at Spikemuth, only to discover that it is locked up. Meeting with Marnie, they learn of its history and her connection with it, before Victor is allowed to challenge her brother and Spikemuth Gym Leader, Piers. It was a difficult battle, but Victor stands victorious. And now our heroes set out for the final Gym."
"Breaking Down Barriers"
Victor and Gloria are standing several feet apart, with Raboot, Toxtricity, Pikachu, Impidimp, Sirfetch'd, and Orbeetle between them. At the same time, Corviknight, Silicobra, Arctovish, and Inteleon are on the side, watching.
"Raboot, Double Kick! Toxtricity, Poison Jab! Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Victor calls out.
"Impidimp, Sucker Punch! Sirfetch'd, Fury Cutter! Orbeetle, Reflect!" Gloria calls out.
"Ra-boot!" Raboot runs ahead.
"Impi!" Impidimp charges and throws a punch.
Impidimp's punch collides with Raboot's foot.
"Toxt Icit!" Toxtricity strums its chest, before its arm becomes covered in purple energy and stabs forward.
"Sir! Fetch!" Sirfetch'd starts to swing it's leek side to side.
Sirfetch'd leek and Toxtricity's arm collide with each other a couple times.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu runs ahead at a breakneck pace.
"Or! Beet!" a yellow colored barrier appears in front of Orbeetle.
Pikachu collides with Orbeetle's barrier.
"Ra-boot!" Raboot spins around and kicks Impidimp in the back.
"Impi!"
"Impidimp?!" Gloria calls out.
"Impi…" Impidimp stands up, with a small burnt on its back.
Gloria sits next to her Pokémon, before looking over to Victor, "That might be enough training for today."
"Guess you right," Victor rubs the back of his head.
Sirfetch'd and Toxtricity lower their leek and arm respectively.
"Sir, Fetch," Sirfetch'd nods its head, which Toxtricity returns as it strums its chest.
Orbeetle's barrier disappears, as Pikachu smiles at it, "Pika Pi."
"Or, beet," Orbeetle nods its head.
"Ra-boot," Raboot rubs the back at its head, as it approaches Impidimp.
"Impi," Impidimp waves at it with a smile.
Gloria smiles.
"Y'know, it's still hard to believe that I'm only one Gym Badge away from qualifying for the Galar League," Victor says.
"And if you win then you can challenge Leon in the Champion Cup," Gloria stands up. "And if you win that you then will be the new League Champion."
"I don't think I'm good enough for all of that," Victor rubs the back of his head, while blushing, before looking over at all his Pokémon. "But whether we win or lose, I'm glad I've come so far with my friends."
"Ra-boot!"
"Knigh!"
"Pika Pi!"
"Sili!"
"Tovis!"
"Toxt Icit!"
As the Pokémon agree, Gloria smiles.
"Well, we should be going then," Gloria turns before noticing a tunnel entrance just a little bit away. "That must be it… the Route 9 Tunnel."
Victor, Gloria, and their Pokémon are walking through a large tunnel, with light fixtures on the ceiling.
Gloria is reading her Rotom Phone, "Okay, this tunnel connects Route 9 and Route 7, and just beyond Route 7 is Hammerlocke." Gloria looks at Victor. "Which is where Raihan and the last Gym is."
"Right…" Victor nervously says, as he's sweating.
"Ra-boot! Ra-boot!" Raboot pumps its arms, as it looks up at its Trainer.
Suddenly, the group starts to feel an earthquake, as everyone tries to keep their footings, when a portion of the ceiling collapses behind them. They all rush ahead a few steps to dodge the collapsing ceiling.
"Pika! Pika! Pika!" Pikachu panicky says.
The earthquake continues, as Gloria turns to Victor, "We need to get out of here."
"Let go!" Victor says, before everyone starts to run amidst the earthquake.
"Sili!" Silicobra uses its tail to scoop up the panicking Pikachu and hurry with everyone else.
After a few moments of running through the shaking tunnel, they see the exit in the distance. That's when another portion of the ceiling starts to collapse.
Victor trips and falls down.
His Pokémon slid to a stop and rushed over to help their Trainer up.
Gloria and her Pokémon are nearing the exit, as the ceiling is collapsing around them, barely getting out, before the ceiling finishes collapsing, blocking the exit behind them, with the earthquake also ending.
Gloria is catching her breath, "That… was too… close…"
"Intel!"
Gloria looks at her Pokémon, "Inteleon?"
"Intel! Intel!" Inteleon is pointing at the blocked tunnel, panicking.
"Wha…" Gloria says, before looking around, with her Pokémon looking at the blocked tunnel, all concerned and scared. "Victor and the others…" Gloria spins around. "They didn't make it?!"
Gloria and her Pokémon are staring at the blocked tunnel, "Victor!"
Inside the tunnel, with small light fixtures on the remaining ceiling giving some illumination, Victor and his Pokémon are getting up, brushing or shaking dirt off them.
"Everyone's okay?" Victor asks.
"Ra-boot."
"Knigh."
"Sili."
"Toxt Icit."
"Tovis."
Victor looks at both sides of the tunnel, seeing it both blocked with debris, "We're trapped…"
Victor then notices Pikachu is breathing heavily, with small electricity coming off its cheeks, "Pika Pika Pika Pika."
"Pikachu…" Victor says, softly.
Sirfetch'd charges at the blocked entrance, with its leek raised.
"Sirfetch'd stop!" Gloria calls out, with Sirfetch'd coming to a stop and turns to her. "If we're not careful, we could cause the tunnel to collapse even more."
"Sir, Fetch," Sirfetch'd lowers its leek and its head.
"I know how you feel," Gloria approaches Sirfetch'd, who looks up at her, as she holds up her Rotom Phone. "But I already called for help, I just hope it will come soon."
"Or, beet!" Orbeetle calls out.
Gloria turns and looks up to see a couple Corviknight Taxi approaching.
Gloria walks over, with the Corviknight Taxi landing and a rescuer comes out.
"How many are trapped?" the rescuer asks, as another rescuer exits the taxi cab.
"My friend and his six Pokémon are stuck in the tunnel," Gloria answers.
"That's horrible."
Gloria turns to see coming out of another cab is Sonia, "Sonia?"
"Yamp!" Yamper comes running past Sonia, as Leon also exits the cab.
"We heard about what happened and came to see if we can help," Leon explains.
Leon then approaches the lead rescuer, as other rescuers are examining the blocked tunnel, "Do you know how long this will take?"
One of the other rescuers turns to her leader and shakes her head.
The lead rescuer turns to Leon, "The entrance appeared unstable. It's gonna take time, unfortunately.
"Will my friend and his Pokémon be okay?" Gloria asks, as she approaches.
"We will do our best, I promise you that," the rescuer tells her.
Leon slowly nods his head, before turning to see Sonia is holding a rectangular device, as she's monitoring it.
"Pika Pika Pika!" Pikachu panicking says.
Victor knees down to his Pokémon, "Pikachu, what's wrong?"
"Pika Pika Pika," Pikachu says, as it turns to see one of the blocked paths. "Pika Pika Pika!'
"Oh, of course…" Victor realizes. "You're remembering what happened to your previous Trainer."
A lightning bolt struck the side of the mountain, causing cracks, before another bolt of lightning struck the top of the mountain, blowing a large boulder from the top, which started to fall downward.
The Trainer, who was holding one hand to his Pikachu, helped keep it on his shoulder, before suddenly pulling it off his shoulder.
The Trainer jumps forward and pushes Pikachu forward, as the large boulder slowly falls down.
The large boulder continues to fall down.
Victor seats down and places a hand on Pikachu's head.
"Pika…" Pikachu looks up at its Trainer.
"But Pikachu, remember," Victor says, before smiling. "We did survive something similar."
Victor looks at Pikachu, before noticing small pebbles falling onto the ground, then he looks up, with Pikachu following his glance, with them seeing small rocks falling down the mountain's side, before a couple larger rocks come loose and then fall down.
Victor backs up and side steps, avoiding rocks, with Pikachu jumping to left and right, before jumping back, also dodging rocks.
Victor then notices a large rock falling toward Pikachu, who looks up to notice it, but then Victor pushes Pikachu out of the way, with the rock crashing onto the ground, inches away from Victor, who falls down, with Pikachu knocked back several feet.
Pikachu looks at Victor, who seems to have trouble getting up, and not noticing a large boulder coming down.
Pikachu gets onto all four, as its cheeks spark, with electric gathering on its tail. An electric ball forms on its tail.
Pikachu swings its tail, throwing the electric ball at the large boulder midair, blasting the boulder, as cracks quickly spread, before the boulder then blows apart into pebbles and dust, with Victor covering his head.
Victor looks around, as his other Pokémon approach him and Pikachu.
"We all managed to survive some dangerous situations," Victor says.
Crawdaunt shoots a series of bubbles from its claw, blasting Scorbunny back toward Victor, who catches it.
Suddenly Pikachu jumps out between them, slamming against Crawdaunt's claw, before knocking back Crawdaunt.
Pikachu lands in front of Victor and Scorbunny, with its cheeks sparking.
Pikachu's cheeks spark before it shoots a blast of electricity.
Crawdaunt jumps up, as the electric attack hits the ground. In midair, Crawdaunt spins around and holds out its claw, shooting a series of bubbles.
The bubbles hit Pikachu.
Scorbunny jumps out of Victor's arms, surprising him.
Scorbunny jumps and slams its body into the side of Crawdaunt, before spinning around and kicks Crawdaunt in the side.
A ball of electricity forms on Pikachu's tail. Pikachu then whips its attack, launching the ball of electricity.
Crawdaunt is falling backward through the air, when the Electro Ball hits it, causing an explosion of electricity.
Crawdaunt lands on the ground. It then turns around and jumps into the lake.
Toxel happily rubs its hands on its cheeks, before a small amount of electricity flies off its body, hitting Gastrodon.
Gastrodon appears annoyed, before rocks levitate up and shoot down at Toxel.
Toxel starts rolling around on the ground, as the rocks slam into the ground, none of which touches Toxel.
Toxel stops rolling, finding itself in front of Gastrodon.
Toxel starts shooting a spray of acid at Gastrodon.
Gastrodon is knocked backward onto its back.
The wind, sandstorm, starts to get worse, before one of the tents gets loose and blows through the air. Victor turns around, when the tent blows onto him, stopping him, as the tent continues to blow around with the tent's ropes tangle around him, and pulls him along through the air, screaming.
Rookidee tries to fly through the sandstorm toward Victor, who continues to be pulled by the tent through the air, but starts to be knocked about by the winds.
Rookidee is knocked down onto the ground.
Victor screams as he is pulled further through the air.
Rookiedee tries to pick itself up as the sandstorm beats down on it, before managing to raise its head with tears in its eyes.
Rookidee's body starts to glow, as it gets up and gets bigger. It spreads its wings, as the glow finally ends.
Corvisquire flaps its wings and takes off, through the sandstorm, motioning left and right as it approaches its Trainer.
One of the stakes attached to the tent quickly flew off.
Corvisquire flies to the side, plucks the stake out of the air and straight to Victor.
Corvisquire's beak, with the stake in it, glows before it strikes ahead a couple times, cutting the tent free of the rope, with one piece of rope still wrapped around Victor.
Corvisquire spins around, as Victor grabs onto it, before it drifts back to the ground. Corvisquire stabs the stake down into the ground, with one end of the rope between the stake and ground, before pounding the stake with its beak.
Victor and Corvisquire then hold themselves down with a wing or an arm wrapped around each other, as the sandstorm continues to blow over them.
Eventually the sandstorm subsides.
Corviknight flies down past the cab, as it's in freefall, toward the gathered Skarmory.
Corviknight flies ahead, as fast as it could, before starting to spin around, blowing past the Skarmory.
Corviknight stops spinning, before starting to fly down toward the falling cab.
Corviknight spins around rapidly, building up speed, as it starts to reach the cab.
Corviknight stops spinning, grabs the top of the cab, and pulls it ahead, before the cab could hit the top of some trees.
Victor and Gloria are knocked back a little inside the cab.
Scorbunny continues to run around Weezing, as its feet glow bright.
Scorbunny starts to glow, as it grows taller, with its hands in tufts of fur, before the glowing ceases.
Raboot continues to run, as its body becomes engulfed in flames.
Weezing spins around and shoots globs of sludge from its mouths.
Raboot continues to run, dodging the globs of sludge, before jumping up and past Weezing, hitting it.
Raboot lands and runs forward, faster, and slams past Weezing.
Weezing is forced back, before shooting out a big smokescreen from its mouths, covering the area in a smokescreen.
Raboot, still engulfed in flames, runs faster, dissipating the smokescreen and jumps up, slamming against Weezing, sending it flying.
Toxel's body starts to glow, as it clutches Drapion's claw, and then starts to grow taller, with its limbs longer. Blue electricity shoots out of the top of its head, before it stops glowing.
Toxtricity pushes Drapion's claw, forcing Drapion back. Toxtricity than strums its chest.
Drapion spins around to face Toxtricity. Large purple fangs appear in front of its mouth.
A blast of electricity is launched from Toxtricity's body, blasting Drapion, as the purple fangs fade.
Wailord dives underwater.
Arctovish is in midair, with its mouth glowing a bright blue.
Wailord quickly rises up out of the water.
Arctovish shoots a large blast of ice from its mouth.
The rising Wailord is hitted by the blast of ice, completely freezing over, before the ice shatters and Wailord falls down.
Victor smiles, "We probably shouldn't tell my mom about all the dangers."
"Sili."
Victor looks at each of his Pokémon, "But hey, it wasn't all danger, was it? We managed to win every Gym Battle so far."
A small flame is seen within the smoke, before a large stream of fire shoots out of Scorbunny's mouth, blasting through the smoke.
Eldegoss calls out, as a part of the ground cracks, before a large explosion geyser shoots up before the fire stream, blocking it, before the fire stream blow through the explosion geyser, then hits at Eldegoss, who disappears within the fire stream, before a large explosion goes off around it, as the fire stream dissipates.
Pikachu gets onto all four, as its tail raises up, and a large electric blast shoots from its body, straight up, skims across the Max Barrier, and shoots straight down in the center of the arena.
The water blast stream hits the electric blast, causing electricity to run back across the water stream, until it reaches Drednaw, blasting it with electricity, before a large explosion goes off around the Pokémon.
Toxel fires a blast of electricity, with Centiskorch spins away to dodge, before it bumps against the Max Barrier.
Toxel slams a hand on the ground, causing a part of the ground to crack, before a large explosion geyser shoots up, hitting Centiskorch.
Toxel shoots up a large blast of electricity. Centiskorch starts to move to the side. The blast of electricity comes down, creating a massive explosion, with Victor and Kabu holding up their arms.
As an explosion dies down, Gengar's hands stretch up toward Corviknight.
Corviknight flies straight down, with its blade birds flying off.
The blade birds fly through Gengar's arms, cutting them as they continue to reform and forcing them backward, all the while as Corviknight gets closer to Gengar.
Corviknight, within inches of Gengar, starts flapping its wings, blowing a massive cyclone at Gengar.
Gengar's arms are blown away, before its entire body is blown backward, shrinking and reforming as a normal size Gengar, as it continues to be blown backward and slams into the Max Barrier.
Alcremie calls out, as three beams fly down.
Corviknight flies ahead, dodging each of the three beams, then manages to fly ahead of the ensuing explosion.
Corviknight spins around, slamming into Alcremie.
Alcremie glows slightly, before it is knocked back and shrinks down to its normal size and appearance.
Corviknight continues to spin ahead, slamming into Alcremie, blowing it through the air and slamming it hard onto the ground.
Toxtricity stands on top of Coalossal's head.
Toxtricity strums its chest a couple times, before unleashes a large blast of electricity down at Coalossal.
Raboot continues to get pushed back slightly.
Suddenly, Raboot manages to push Obstagoon's claw back.
Raboot spins around and kicks Obstagoon's chest.
Raboot jumps off the ground, surrounded in flames, and slams against Obstagoon, sending it flying backward against a wall.
Victor smiles, before looking at the Gym Badges in the metal ring.
The Gym Badges shine.
"It was all… incredible… and exciting…" Victor says, before he holds his head back slightly. "Wait… something's… wrong…"
Leon approaches Sonia, "What you got there?"
"This device detects energy from Power Spots," Sonia explains, looking at Leon for a moment, before looking back at it. "And at the time of the earthquake, it detected immense energy."
"Can a Power Spot cause an earthquake?" Leon asks, with Sonia shrugging her shoulders.
The leader rescuer is holding up his Rotom Phone, "I see. That's not good…"
Gloria approaches him, "What's wrong?"
The rescuer sighs and pockets his Rotom Phone, "I sent some of my people to the other side of the tunnel to see if the damage there was more stable. Not only it wasn't, but the entrance was completely sealed, just like the entrance here."
"Wh-What does that mean?" Gloria asks.
"They are gonna run out of air," Leon approaches, with Sonia watching.
Gloria and her Pokémon look at Leon, terrified, with the lead reducer looking away.
Gloria turns back to look at the tunnel, with tears in her eyes, as she quietly says, "Victor…"
"We… running out of air…" Victor says, as his Pokémon watch him with concern. "But there… might be a way… for you…" Victor holds up a Poké Ball. "You all be safer… inside your Poké Ball…"
"Knigh?!" Corviknight calls out, before shaking its head. "Knigh! Knigh!"
Corviknight turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball.
"It's okay…" Victor says, then holds up another Poké Ball.
"Tovis!" Arctovish calls out, as it turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball.
"It… only temporary…" Victor holds up another Poké Ball.
"Sili…" Silicobra says, crying, as it turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball.
"Help's coming… I'm sure…" Victor says, holding up another Poké Ball.
"Toxt Icit…" Toxtricity strums a single note, with tears in its eyes, as it turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball.
"You'll be fine…" Victor says, holding up another Poké Ball.
"Pika Pika Pika Chu!" Pikachu shakes its head, crying.
"I'm sorry," Victor says, as Pikachu turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball.
"Ra-boot…" Raboot quietly says.
"Okay, Raboot…" Victor holds up another Poké Ball, which shoots out a red beam.
"Ra-boot! Ra-boot!" Raboot jumps back, dodging the red beam.
"Raboot… you must… for your own safety… you must…" Victor says, before starting to cough.
"Ra-boot! Ra-boot! Ra-boot!" Raboot shakes its head, with tears in its eyes, before calling out. "Ra-boot!"
Raboot starts to glow and grows taller and taller, until the glowing ceases, "Cinder! Ace!"
"Raboot… you evolved… con-congrats…" Victor tries to say, before lowering its head.
"Cinder Ace!" Cinderace calls out.
Suddenly Cinderace kicks up a pebble, knocks it off its knee, "Cinder!" Cinderace then kicks the pebble, surrounding it in flames. "Ace!"
The fireball shoots through the blocked entrance, blowing a large hole through the debris, with everyone outside calling out in surprise.
The rest of the tunnel starts to collapse, whe Cinderace grabs Victor and jumps through the hole, "Cinder Ace!"
The tunnel finishes collapsing, as Victor and Cinderace make it out seconds before.
As the dust clears, everyone sees Victor and Cinderace seated on the ground, catching their breaths.
"V-Victor… Victor!" Gloria calls out, as she and her Pokémon approach them.
"Intel!"
"Sir Fetch!"
"Impi!"
"Or, beet!"
"I-I almost don't believe it, you okay," Gloria hugs Victor, before letting go.
"It because Raboot evolved… to save us…" Victor says, kinda weakly, before looking at his Pokémon. "Thanks, Cinderace."
"Cinder Ace," Cinderace smiles.
Suddenly, five red beams shoot out and forms Corviknight, Pikachu, Silicobra, Toxtricity, and Arctovish.
All the Pokémon hug Victor and Cinderace, with Gloria and her Pokémon joining them.
Leon and Sonia happily watch the scene.
Shortly later, the team of rescuers are checking Victor and his Pokémon for injuries, while Gloria and her Pokémon are watching.
Nearby, Leon walks over to Sonia, "I'm so happy everyone comes out of this ordeal okay."
"Me too," Sonia adds, before looking at her device. "But I'm still concerned about the cause of this mess."
"The earthquake?" Leon asks.
"What caused the earthquake," Sonia responds, before pressing a button on her device. "I had narrowed down the energy I detected at the time of the earthquake to the Energy Plant in Hammerlocke."
"The Energy Plant?" Leon asks. "What could be going on at the Energy Plant that could cause an earthquake?"
Leon turns to see the Hammerlocke Stadium in the far distance.
"Tragedy had nearly been averted, thanks to Raboot's evolution into Cinderace. But what of the strange energy detected in Hammerlocke's Energy Plant, and what could it means for the Galar region?"
