"The Second Darkest Day"

In the Energy plant, a couple Wishing Stars fall into the reactor, giving a small glow.

Chairman Rose watches, "The drain on Galar's energy reserves had been so great. But now the energy crisis will be averted…" Rose smiles. "I had finally made it. The key to Galar's future can finally be unleashed."

The glowing from the reactor starts to get brighter.

Victor and Gloria are walking through the Hammerlocke Stadium's lobby, when they see Leon and Sonia in the distance.

Gloria starts to wave at them.

"Victor! Gloria!"

They turn to see Hop running to them.

"Hop?" Gloria responds.

"Hey, I heard you were battling Raihan, so I rushed back as fast as I could," Hop says.

"'Rushed back'? Does that mean…?" Gloria asks.

"Yep, I earned all eight Gym Badges, one step closer to becoming the next League Champion," Hop proudly says. "So, what about you, Victor?"

"Oh, I won my eighth Gym Badge too," Victor says, with a slight blush.

"Congratulations, to you both," Leon says, as he and Sonia approach, with Sonia crossing her arms while looking down.

"Thanks," Hop says, with a big smile.

"Everything okay, Sonia?" Gloria asks.

Sonia sighs, "I'm just so frustrated that the Chairman had been avoiding me."

"I'm sure he has his reasons," Leon says.

"You can say that after seeing the energy readings I've been detecting?" Sonia asks Leon. "Remember, you the one who said that he was concerned about Galar's energy crisis."

"Energy crisis?" Victor asks.

"It is believed that Galar could run out of all usable energy, but that is at most a thousand years away," Leon explains. "Nothing to worry about immediately."

"And the Chairman is worried about it?" Gloria asks.

"He is," Leon says. "But I seriously doubt he would do anything drastic about it."

Suddenly, they all feel an earthquake, as a beam of energy shoots out from the Hammerlocke Stadium and into the sky, with the sky starting to darkening.

Through the windows, Victor sees the sky is darkening, "The sky…"

"What's going on?" Gloria asks.

At that moment, they hear a loud roar, turning toward the sound.

"That's coming from the arena," Leon realizes, before he leads the group toward it.

Leon, Victor, Gloria, Hop, and Sonia enter the arena and stop next to Raihan.

"What in the…?" Raihan says, as he watches a Haxorus glowing, before it starts to grow.

"You Dynamaxing your Haxorus, outside battle?" Leon asks.

"It belongs to the Gym, and it's Dynamaxing on its own," Raihan explains.

"Haxo! Haxo!" Haxorus ceases glowing as it stops growing. "Haxo!"

Haxorus turns before dark beams shoot off its body and blasts apart some of the stands.

Raihan turns to Aria, several feet away, "Quick, activate the Max Barrier!"

"Right!" Aria turns and runs.

"Haxo!" Haxorus calls out, as more dark beams shoot out.

The Max Barrier forms around the arena, as the dark beams collide against it.

"Haxo!"

"This isn't good, my Pokémon still hasn't recovered from the last Gym Battle," Raihan says, holding a Poké Ball.

Suddenly a red beam shoots out of Gloria's bag, forming Sirfetch'd, "Sir Fetch!"

"Sirfetch'd? You want to battle?" Gloria asks.

"Sir Fetch!" Sirfetch'd holds up its leek.

"Okay, but let's go big," Gloria holds out a Poké Ball, with Sirfetch'd turns into red energy and flies into the Poké Ball, before it is surrounded by a large red Poké Ball, which she throws, "Go, Sirfetch'd! Dynamax!"

The large Poké Ball opens, releasing Sirfetch'd as it glows and grows, "Sir Fetch!"

"Now, Max Flutterby!" Gloria holds out an arm.

"Sir Fetch!" Sirfetch'd strikes with its leek, before glowing Butterfree-like shapes fly from it.

The Butterfree-like shapes fly into Haxorus, blasting it repeatedly, "Haxo!"

After a few seconds, Haxorus holds out its arms, yelling, "Haxo!"

Sirfetch'd is suddenly surrounded by glowing purple energy.

"It's Max Wyrmwind," Raihan realizes.

Sirfetch'd is blasted by the surrounding energy, "Sir Fetch!"

Oleana enters the Power Plant and crosses a walkway, when she sees Rose pushing himself up from the floor.

"Chairman, are you okay?" Oleana rushes to Rose's side, helping him up.

"I'm okay, Oleana," Rose says, without taking his eyes off the reactor. "I was simply knocked back by the energy output." He starts to smile. "It was a lot more potent than I thought."

"Speaking of that," Oleana hands him a Rotom Phone. "Here are the recent scans of the energy output."

Rose looks at the Rotom Phone's screen, "This… This is an even greater energy output than I could've imagined."

"At this rate, there will be damages," Oleana says, as she watches Rose take a couple steps ahead, looking at the Rotom Phone. "A lot of it."

Rose holds down the Rotom Phone, looking at the energy reactor, "The result will justify it all."

"Sir… Fetch…" Sirfetch'd stares down Haxorus.

"Haxo!" Haxorus roars.

"The only way to end this is to defeat Haxorus," Raihan says, before turning to Gloria. "You have my 'ok' not to hold back, Gloria."

"Right," Gloria nods her head, before looking back ahead. "Sirfetch'd, back to back Max Knuckle!"

"Sir Fetch!" Sirfetch'd starts to run around Haxorus, swinging its leek and launching energy fists, each hitting Haxorus.

"Haxo!" Haxorus calls out as the last energy fist hits it. "Haxo!"

Dark beams shoot out of Haxorus and start to chase Sirfetch'd, who runs around the arena before running past Haxorus, who gets hit by the dark beams, surrounding it with a dark dome that explodes.

"Haxo…" Haxorus is breathing heavily, as the smoke clears.

"One more Max Knuckle!" Gloria calls out.

"Sir Fetch!" Sirfetch'd jumps up behind Haxorus, before swinging its leek and launching an energy fist, blasting Haxorus in the back.

"Haxo!" Haxorus drops to its knees, before it glows and shrinks back to normal.

"Sir… Fetch…" Sirfetch'd finishes returning to normal, breathing heavily.

"Well done, Sirfetch'd," Gloria says, running over to Sirfetch'd.

Sirfetch'd sees Gloria as a princess as she approaches it, and Sirfetch'd smiles, "Sir Fetch!"

"At least that's over," Victor says, relieved.

"I'm afraid it isn't," Sonia says, looking at her Rotom Phone before holding it up.

The Rotom Phone shows Gillian giving a news report, "It only started a few minutes ago. At every Gym Stadium that possesses a Power Spot, Pokémon are randomly Dynamaxing and going on rampages."

At the Turrfield Stadium, a Dynamaxed Tsareena spins around, before launching giant seeds from its leaf-like hair.

"Saree!"

"El-goss!" Eldegoss glides across the ground, dodging the giant seeds.

"Eldegoss, Max Strike!" Milo calls out.

"El-goss!" Eldegoss stops and calls out.

The ground beneaths Tsareena cracks, before it is hit by an explosion geyser, "Saree!"

At the Hulbury Stadium, a Dynamaxed Gyarados slithers across the ground.

"Gya, ra!" Gyarados calls out, as white clouds swirl above it and large hail start shooting down.

The hail bats against the Gigantamaxed Drednaw, standing upright, before falling onto all four.

"Drednaw, counter with G-Max Stonesurge!" Nessa calls out.

"Dred! Naw!" Drednaw opens its mouth, as a large blast of a water stream shoots out.

"Gya, ra!" Gyarados slithers around, trying to dodge the water stream blast, before getting sideswiped by it.

At the Motostoke Stadium, a Dynamaxed Torkoal shoots a massive blast of fire from its mouth.

"Koal!"

"Meet fire with fire!" Kabu calls out. "G-Max Centiferno!"

"Centi!" Centiskorch brings together its body and fires a massive flaming vortex from it. "Skorc!"

The two attacks collide with a massive explosion.

At the Stow-on-Side Stadium, a Dynamaxed Conkeldurr swings its concrete pillars, launching four energy fists.

Allister runs ahead with a Poké Ball, "Better move fast."

"G-Max Chi Strike!"

Four giant energy fists fly over Allister's head and collide with the other four energy fists, destroying them.

Allister turns to see a Gigantamaxed Machamp finishes glowing, as Bea stands next to it.

"We thought you could use some help," Bea says, before grinning.

At the Ballonlea Stadium, a Dynamaxed Rapidash calls out, as pink energy waves are emitted from it.

"Rapi!"

"Hatterene, hold your ground!" Bede calls out.

"Hatt-rene!" Hatterene says, as it is able to hold still as it is blasted with pink energy waves.

"Not too bad," Opal says, standing several feet behind Bede.

Bede glances at her for a moment, before looking ahead. "Hatterene, Max Starfall!"

"Hatt-rene!" Hatterene starts moving ahead.

At the Circhester Stadium, a Dynamaxed Froslass calls out, as white clouds swirl above it and large hail start shooting down.

"Coalossal, block with G-Max Volcalith!" Gordie calls out.

"Coa! Lossal!" Coalossal calls out, as a giant stone slab rises up in front of it, blocking the hail.

"Well done, Gordie, but you must also remember to go on the offensive as soon as possible!" Melony's calling from several feet behind Gordie.

Gordie's eyebrows are twitching, as he tries to look ahead.

"Why are so many Pokémon Dynamaxing?" Hop asks.

"The sky…" Victor says, with Gloria looking at him.

"What?" Gloria asks.

"The sky. It got dark very fast, very early," Victor says to his friends.

"Like the Darkest Day," Sonia realizes, before holding up her energy detector.

"How is that possible?" Raihan asks.

"I don't know, but I'm scanning for any abnormal energy signals," Sonia says, before looking away from her energy detector. "And I'm detecting a rising energy signal in the Energy Plant."

"The Energy Plant provides power to all of Galar, right?" Gloria asks.

"But could that mean Chairman Rose might be somehow involved?" Victor asks.

"I'm gonna find out," Leon says.

"I'll go with you," Raihan says.

"I appreciate the offer, old friend, but you are needed here to calm down anymore Dynamaxed Pokémon," Leon says. "Especially since the Wild Area is covered in Power Spots."

"You made a good point," Raihan admits.

"Then I'll go with you," Hop says.

"Hop…" Leon starts.

"Hey, I'm not just your little brother anymore, I'm a Pokémon Trainer, with eight Gym Badges," Hop interrupts, with a finger at his chest.

"I was gonna said, that I know I won't be able to change your mind," Leon says.

Hop smiles.

"We also want to go with you," Victor says, with Gloria nodding her head.

"Actually I would like you two to come with me," Sonia says, with Victor and Gloria looking at her. "I need your help with something that could solve our current predicament."

"Of course, Sonia," Gloria says.

"Best of luck," Hop says to Victor and Gloria.

"You too," Gloria says.

"Be careful," Victor adds.

Hop smiles and nods.

"We better get going," Sonia says, before she, Victor, and Gloria start to run off.

Raihan turns and looks at the Haxorus, as it's breathing heavily.

"We should get going too," Hop says, to Leon and turns, before turning back. "Hum, where are we going?"

Leon smiles, before starting to walk, "Where the energy signal was coming from. The Energy Plant."

Outside Hammerlocke Stadium, Victor, Gloria, and Sonia rush to an empty Corviknight Taxi cab.

"There's never a Corviknight Taxi around when you need one," Sonia says.

"We can handle that," Victor says, before he throws a Poké Ball.

The Poké Ball opens and shoots out red energy, forming Corviknight on the top of the cab, "Knigh!"

"Ready for another flight?" Victor asks his Pokémon.

"Knigh, Knigh," Corviknight nods its head.

Within a few moments, Corviknight starts to carry the cab into the air, with Victor, Gloria, and Sonia inside.

"Okay, Sonia, where are we going anyway?" Gloria asks.

Sonia looks at the distance outside the cab, "To Slumbering Weald."

Outside Slumbering Weald, Sordward and Shielbert stand side by side.

"The time has finally come," Sordward says.

"And no one's gonna stop us," Shielbert adds.

"The second Darkest Day has begun! As our heroes and their friends race to put an end to this danger, another threat might start emerging. Will our heroes be able to stop this and restore the peace of the Galar region?"
