Team Assignment Day.

Naruto woke up, in his pj's, his sleep cap hanging over his head, he gets up and showers and changes into his orange jumpsuit, he adjusts his forehead protector one last time before smiling and going to have breakfast eating Ramen and unknown and unfortunately for him, expired milk. He begins to go to the academy, he thinks to himself, 'Today is the first day of the rest of my life, today is the day that I begin my journey to becoming Hokage.' He happily walks down the street, not knowing how different his fate will be.

Sakura leaves the house, dressed in her pink battle dress and tight bicycle shorts underneath that are two sizes too small, she hopes that this may help get Sasuke's attention as she fantasizes about being on the same team as him, him realizing that she is so much better than those other sluts from the academy and having his babies, "My life is going to go so perfectly from today." She says with a slight squeal, she sees Ino, her former best friend and love rival for Sasuke's affection, "Good morning Ino-Pig."

Ino, who wears a purple top and skirt combo with bandages narrows her eyes, "Morning Forehead."

The two begin to slowly increase their pace, each working to go faster than the other her before breaking out into a run, determined to beat the other to the academy to sit next to Sasuke Uchiha.

Daiki is watching from a nearby building with Kurenai, he is smirking slightly, Kurenai narrows her eyes, "So those are two of my student Daiki?" She asks as she watches the two run at a very slow speed for a genin.

Daiki smirks lightly at her, "Yes, that is Sakura Haruno and Ino Yakamaki."

Kurenai looks at him with a glare, "I hate you; you know that?" He just chuckles in response, "No, seriously, I hate you."

Daiki shrugs, "Just use Anko to help break them out of their fangirl ways and then build them up from there."

Kurenai laughs, "I knew that we liked you for a reason, two days with Anko and they'd be begging for mercy."

Daiki smiles in thought, "Hmm, maybe I should introduce Anko to Naruto and let her train him sometime. What do you think?"

Kurenai turns pale, all humor gone, and her face now panicked and then she grabs him and begins to shake him, "No, that can never happen, do you hear me? Never! Never! Never! Do you want the village to be destroyed?!

Daiki thinks to himself as he is being shaken by Kurenai, 'I was just thinking it may be good for them, after all, they both know what it is like to be outcasted by things outside of their control. I don't believe that the pair meeting would be so chaotic that it will destroy the village Nee-San'

At the Academy, Naruto walks in and he is spotted by Shikamaru Nara, who looks at him, "What are you doing here Naruto? This is just for the people who graduated."

Naruto looks up and smirks, "Wow, Shikamaru, I don't know what is more impressive, your intelligence, or the fact that you let your laziness effect your observation skills to the point that you don't even notice that I am obviously wearing the Konoha headband." He says as he goes and sits down near the brooding Uchiha, "Still in emo-mode even today huh Sasuke-Teme?"

Sasuke barely looks up; he just lets out an "Hn." Before going back to staring forward impassively.

In the back row, a blushing Hinata stares at Naruto, poking her fingers together, thinking to herself, 'I-I am so glad you passed Naruto-Kun.' She says, blushing even more because even her thoughts have a slight stutter to them. She curses her own shyness, wishing she could be more confident within herself. All of a sudden both Sakura and Ino run in and they argue who got there first, despite it obviously being a tie and they argue over who gets to sit next to Sasuke.

Iruka comes in as the class is talking excitedly among themselves, "Excuse me. Can I have your attention please?" The class ignores him as he clears his throat, "It's time to start orientation and assign the teams, please be quiet." He says hoping to get their attention only to get ignored once again, he sighs and uses bighead justu, "I SAID SHUT THE HELL UP RIGHT NOW YOU BRATS OR I SWEAR TO KAMI THAT I WILL MAKE EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THE FINAL YEAR OF THE ACADEMY RATHER THAN BE ASSIGNED TO A GENIN TEAM!" The class becomes quiet after that and Iruka smiles, "That's better, now I just like to say that I am proud of each and everyone of you for making it this far, the life of a ninja is not an easy one and you'll find that your life will only get more complicated from here. Now for the team announcements, Team Seven will consist of Naruto Uzumaki." Naruto looks up with a big grin, he has been waiting for years for this moment, "Hinata Hyuuga." Hinata looks up and blushes and pokes her index fingers together cutely, however, she is smiling, very happy to be on Naruto's team, "And Sasuke Uchiha." There are several cries of protest from the girls and even Naruto himself.

Naruto speaks up first, "Iruka-Sensei, why does a great ninja like me have to be paired up with Sasuke?"

Iruka looks at Naruto, "This is for team balance Naruto, Sasuke had the best grades in the academy, you had the worst, the team pairs up the top shinobi, the top kunoichi, and the dead last together in order to ensure that the teams won't be overpowered."

Sakura raises her hand and stands up, "Iruka-Sensei, then I should be the one on Team 7 as I am the top kunoichi in our class, not Hinata." She thinks to herself privately, 'How dare that put that white-eyed freak in my rightful place with Sasuke-Kun, I bet she only pretended to have a crush on Naruto-baka in order to keep herself from being noticed.' Inner Sakura speaks up in her mind, "We should kill that slutty Hyuuga bitch! CHA!"

Iruka speaks up, "In terms of scores, you are indeed correct, but Hokage-Sama has the decision on team pairings. So, unless you want to take it up with him, sit down and shut up. Team Seven sensei will be Daiki Timaru, Team Eight will be Sakura Haruno, Kiba Inuzuka, and Ino Yakamari, under Kurenai Yuri, Team nine is still in circulation from last year. Team Ten will be Shino Aburame, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi under Asuma Sarutobi. You will be dismissed for a thirty-minute recess before your sensei's arrive.

With that, all the students take a break, going their separate ways, unknown to them that their sensei are secretly watching them, Naruto sneaks up on Sasuke and uses his shadow clone justu and ties Sasuke up and then he goes to approach Sakura while henged as Sasuke. He walks over to her and smiles, "Sakura, you have such a wide and charming forehead, it makes me want to kiss it." He looks at her and then says, "Just kidding, that was a lame line like Naruto would say." He sits down, "Speaking of Naruto, what do you think of him Sakura?"

Sakura, who had just heard her dream line from her dream guy, only for it to get crushed and then asked about the boy that she undoubtedly hates, brings about a sour mood, "Naruto is annoying, he always gets in my way and he enjoys seeing me struggle, he doesn't understand me at all, the only one who's acknowledgement I want is yours Sasuke-Kun, all I want is your approval."

Naruto, who is disguised as Sasuke, blushes and he thinks, 'I think, I understand why I like Sakura so much now.' As they are about to lean over together to kiss, his stomach begins to hurt from the expired milk, and he rushes off.

Daiki, who was watching with Kurenai sighs slightly, "I am going to have to punish him for that and make him apologize as well. Both to Sasuke and Sakura."

Kurenai feels angry, because her student nearly had her first kiss stolen, she whispers furiously, "You had better come down hard on him. He nearly did an unforgivable act that would have scarred her for life. If you don't punish him properly and make him gravel before my student. I'll…" Daiki holds a hand up silencing her, "Kurenai, shut up, If Hinata henged into Sakura to get closer to Naruto, finds out what he thought about her and then ends up kissing him, you wouldn't think once about punishing her, let alone twice."

She glares at him furiously, her red eyes alight, as if displaying the fires of hell within them, "Yes, I would not, because a boy's first kiss is no big deal." She informs Daiki, showing a side of sexism that favors females.

Daiki shakes his head, "Kurenai, be careful with what you think, a boy that isn't embraced by his village may end up burning it down to feel its warmth." He walks away after that; he knows he will have a bit of a tough time as he has two problem students. He thinks to himself, 'I must be out of my mind, but Naruto needs a teacher that will have faith in him and build him up, and Sasuke needs someone who will save him from the dark path that he seeks to walk.' He waits and listens as the other sensei's pick up their teams, he waits for at least half an hour before sighing, and walks in, "Team Seven, I am Daiki-Sensei, I must confess myself disappointed that you three did not attempt to socialize at all while I was waiting for half an hour. Anyway, meet me up on the roof, we can get to know each other a little better." With that, he goes out the window and walks up to the side of the building to the roof, he is waiting as they arrive, He has their academy files with him "So, I've read your academy reports…You know what I think of them?" He begins to rip them up, "I don't give a shit about them, they tell me nothing, and let me be clear, this is not the academy and academy ranking does not matter in the real world, I don't care if you were dead last, rookie of the year, or number one Kunoichi, none of that matters and anyone who attempts to hold their academy rank over the head of their fellow genin cannot be a true genin. I also don't care what your last name is, while I may have some respect for the Hyuuga Clan, the Uzumaki clan and even the Uchiha clan. That will not earn you points with me, what you get from me, you get it when you earn it, you disagree with me on this, you can hand in your headband to me right now and go back to studying safely in the classroom or quit entirely, Am I in any way unclear?"

Hinata raises her hand and stutters slight, "I..I..umm…Wh…Who was the Uzumaki clan Daiki-Sensei?"

Daiki runs his hand through his hair and mutters, "Fucking Civilian Council. Whole lot of them should be hanged" He looks at the three, "The Uzumaki clan was a clan in the village of Whirlpools, They were the only clan in the entire village, they were predominantly known for their sealing technique and swordsmanship, they were wiped about by a combination of Iwa and Kumo, bastards invaded with a thousand ninjas total, The entire village had a total of two-hundred ninjas, it took them thirteen days, and the Uzumaki clan nearly took the entire force down with them, only 20 walked away, there are maybe three or four Uzumaki's left in the world besides Naruto here. Yes Naruto, your clan was badass. Of course, all this would be known if the civilian council weren't trying to erase the Uzumaki name from history. Anyway, we are getting off topic here. Tomorrow, you will take your final genin test. First, let's introduce ourselves, if you like, I can go first, my name is Daiki Timaru, I am a jounin in rank, I am typically considers an average jounin with nothing special about me, so I am not well-known in the world, nor am I in the bingo book, and I want it that way, my likes are my friends especially Kurenai and Anko, who may want to help you three out at times, I like developing new techniques, be it a ninjutsu technique, taijustu, or with a sword. I like when others use their own strengths and knowledge in unexpected ways. I dislike perverts, traitors, and the way some women would hypocritically call anything that a male does as perverted and disregard the idea that females can be perverted too. There is a difference between being a pervert and being healthy growing person with hormones." He smiles and frowns at the same time as Hinata seems to blush in either embarrassment or possibly something else entirely, "I hate rapist, murderers, and child molesters, I hate the way that the Hyuuga clan is divided and how they mistreat their own. I really hate the civilian council for sticking their noses in things that don't matter and their ignorance. My dream for the future is to see you all grow into the great ninjas that I know you to be and to fall in love someday. Naruto, you are first. Introduce yourself."

Naruto smiles and adjusts his headband, "My name is Naruto Uzumaki, I like Ramen, I especially like it when Iruka-Sensei treats me to Ichirikua Ramen, I like Sakura-Chan, and pulling pranks. I dislike the three minutes that it takes to cook ramen, and people who look down on me. My dream is to become the greatest Hokage ever so that everyone will have to quit looking down me and respect me."

Daiki rubs his head and sighs lightly, "So, I see you are one of those hundreds of dreamers…listen kid, I'm not saying that you can't do it. Let me make that perfectly clear if nothing else. Hundreds of kids who become genin, they all dream of being Hokage, be it vocally like you or secretly, at the end, only a select few are serious about it. Right now, you aren't one of them, the reason being, you have no earthly idea what it means to be the Hokage. We'll go visit Lord Third Hokage after this and he'll set you straight, there's something else that I want to talk with you about anyway. Your turn Hinata."

Hinata pokes her fingers together, "My name is hi-hinata hy-hyuga, I like…" She glances at Naruto and blushes and then stutters more, "Cinnamon buns, my cl-clan, l-lea-learning new things. I dislike…people who look down on others and believe that change is impossible…my dream is to…gain the attention of those I admire, respect from my father and clan and to unite my clan and abolish the cage bird seal."

Daiki nods, "A noble goal, especially as with me as your teacher, you will be breaking a lot of clan traditions anyway, any of them give you trouble with that, you send them to me and I'll either show them the business at the end of my fist or their necks will get an up close and personal meeting of my sword, no one interferes with how I teach my genin, except maybe the Hokage himself." He smiles gently at her and then looks at Sasuke, "Now your turn Sasuke."

Sasuke speaks up, "My name is Sasuke Uchiha, I don't particularly like anything, I dislike almost everything, I don't have a dream, because I will make it a reality, my goal is to restore my clan and destroy a certain man."

Daiki sighs, "The first one can be called a noble and some would even say a necessary goal, the second one…The cup you choose to fill has no bottom, you will only continue to hamper yourself as long as you continue to seek vengeance. I will however help you, Itachi will only be killed in the field if it is impossible to bring him in, If you can show that you learn the difference between revenge and justice, you may be able to go on to become a hunter nin and help bring Itachi in, but let go of your desire for revenge, if not for your sake, then so your parents can rest in peace. If you go down the path of Vengeance, you could very easily become the thing you meant to destroy. Just think about that."

Sasuke looks down, actually in thought for once, the other two are quiet, he had something to say to everyone of them, be it to help them with their dreams or to show them what their dreams really mean, he's already started teaching them, Sasuke speaks up, "I have a lot to think about, but sensei, thank you."

Daiki smiles lightly, "Tomorrow at 9 am, meet at Training Ground 7 for your final test." He tells them, "Be sure to have a hardy breakfast and remember to do what you are good at. Dismissed, Naruto, stay with me, we have to go and talk to the Hokage and we also have something else to talk about."

The other two walk away and Daiki looks toward the Hokage tower and Naruto is standing next to him, "I hope after you hear the truth, that you still want to be the Hokage and will take it seriously. I'd love to brag that I taught a future Hokage."

Naruto looks at him, "You really think I can do it sensei?" He asks, not used to having someone believe in him.

Daiki smiles lightly at Naruto, "With the right drive, the right reason, and knowing what it means, anyone can do anything that they put their mind and heart to, but it doesn't matter what I believe, all the effort and belief is pointless if you don't believe in yourself. As time goes by, you will learn what it means to be a ninja, after that, you may question if you even want to be Hokage. Well, let's go."
