A Marble-ous Day

Sammy glanced disconsolately out of the rain-streaked window, then bounced over to his eight year-old brother. "I'm bored. Wanna go outside!"

Dean, stretched out on their apartment's ratty couch, ignored him, continuing to read his book.

"Bored, bored, BORED!"

"Can't go out, Squirt, it's raining."

"Bor-"

"We'll play something inside." Dean rose from the sofa. "Although three year-olds are really too young to play this."

"I'm most four!" Sammy protested.

"So you are. Wait here," Dean disappeared down the hallway, emerging a few minutes later with a small burlap bag and some string. He knelt on the floor and formed a circle with the piece of string. Sammy sat down next to him as Dean dumped a bunch of marbles inside the string ring. He fished out two marbles, both slightly larger than the other ones. "Pick a shooter."

Sammy chose the blue marble while Dean explained the rules of the game. Dean demonstrated how to flick a shooter with one knuckle and his thumb, propelling his marble forward.

Sammy couldn't get his fingers to flick properly.

"Try this." Dean made the "Okay" sign, flicking a marble with his finger.

Sammy could shoot this way and the game commenced.

A/N: It's been a long time since I've written a drabble, hope I'm not too rusty.
