Sam eyed the stack of papers on the sheriff's desk. "Ahem."
"Sam!" Jody Mills looked up, then sprang to her feet, quickly embracing her visitor. "I'm so, so sorry," she whispered, then released him. "Trouble?"
"No, I—I came to say good-bye. Promised him I'd give normal another shot." Live for both of us. He handed her a small wooden box. "Want you to have this."
"The bunker key?"
"It's too valuable to ignore in the fight against Evil. I cleared out everything supernatural within 200 miles. Y'don't need to stay there permanently; just utilize it."
"We will." Jody promised.
A/N: So, Sam leaving the bunker unoccupied in the finale made no sense to me. This is a more satisfactory resolution IMO.
