Placus

I take my seat in front of the camera. Interviews are a bore, but the country must see it's president, the districts must see the Capitol is powerful.

"Three, two, one, action." The woman behind the camera gives me a thumbs up. I know what it means. Smile and pretend nothing is wrong, no hints of a third rebellion.

"So, President Larcgrove, how do you feel about having only two weeks experience on the job before the reaping?"

"Straight to the point, I see." I laugh, "In truth, it's daunting. But I will do as my predecessor, President Snow, would have done."

"And how do you feel about the bombing?"

"It's shaken the whole of Panem, but we are strong. The Capitol will not fall." Raucous cheers from the team around me. They agree.

"Do you know anything about the games this year?" Thank you, Axia.

"As much as you. You'd have to ask Gamemaker Ruso."

"Her interview is slated right after yours, President." I know this, but it's good to keep the people watching. Keep them watching, keep them from rebelling.

"Is there a message you'd like to give the districts?" Ah. I knew this question was coming.

"Yes. The hunger games will continue. We are still strong. Do not lose faith." I stare straight into the camera.

"Thank you, President Larcgrove. And keep watching, because we have an interview with Head Gamemaker Ruso next!" I'm ushered off set by an attendant. I'll leave soon, but first I must talk to Juventia. There she is.

"Juventia."

"President."

"Don't tell them. And remember, we are strong."

"Don't worry. I'll be fine." She walks towards the camera. But as she leaves I hear her utter something, almost to quiet to hear. A phrase she shouldn't know, because she's not from an important family. Because she got lucky on her job. A phrase I haven't heard since I last saw President Snow. Snow lands on top. But she never met Snow. Absolutely never. So how does she know the Snow family saying?
