Chapter 6: Mysterious Found Sakura

Sakura's POV

Sakura sat cross-legged; her hands bound with a towel restraint to a metal bar stool. Luckily, her mouth wasn't covered, and she was free to speak if she so chose. Instead, she glared gallingly at her father's personal bodyguard, Might Duy. Duy was a proud, overzealous, and buoyant man, although he was probably the oldest man alive. Regularly thanking people who were otherwise chiding him for his odd behavior, Duy strongly believed that to make ends meet, one must never give up and strive forward. He was as optimistic as they come.

"I don't appreciate you breaking into my hotel room, Mr. Might." Sakura said with less enthusiasm, knowing fully well the reason why her father's bodyguard was there. "But keeping me here against my will is a bit…illegal, don't you think?"

"Your father has sent me to fetch you."

"Why am I not surprise? I'm not a lap dog, you know. And how the heck did you find me?"

Sakura was sure she covered her tracks ever since she left home and the dojo she inherited from her father. Her father was one stubborn man, continuously pestering her to take over his role as the dojo's master since she was his only child. It wasn't her dream but her father's, to see to it that the Dojo stays active for many generations to come. Why couldn't Might Duy see it, too?

"Your father is a committed man and entrusted me to safely secure you home, miss." Duy grinned from his meditating spot on the floor.

"You didn't answer my question." Sakura narrowed her eyes, fed up with being ignored. "You don't expect me to just shut up and color, do you?"

"I am here for solely one reason. That's to bring you home, miss."

Sakura sighed; there was no getting around Might Duy. The Might Clan have been loyal members of her family's dojo for three generations and though she's used to the Might's youthful antics, she could care less if her father passed the inheritance over to Duy's son, Might Guy, instead.

"Mr. Might, I'm not in the mood. Please just answer my questions."

"Perhaps some meditating will help set the mood?"

"No, it won't."

He sighed, "If I answer your questions, will you go see your father?"

Did she have a choice? Her freedom was pretty much detained, and she didn't know anyone who would come to her rescue. Except a certain private investigator…well, no, scratch that.

"I'll consider it."

It wasn't technically a confirmation, but it'll have to do. Hopefully.

"Alright."

"Great, let's start with…How did you find my whereabouts?"

"From Mr. Shimura."

Sai did? That son of a gun! Sakura blanched, biting back her inner turmoil from showing. Did her ex hire Duy to follow her as she had assumed earlier before?

"Did you follow me here?"

"Yes."

"Since when?"

"Since your arrival at the club, miss."

When did Sai even come in contact with Duy? No, the real question is, how in the world did Sai know about Duy in the first place? She had never told her ex about the Might Clan nor how her father wanted her to take over the family's dojo. The only thing Sai relatively knew of her background was that she operated a company of her own.

"What time?"

"Over past midnight."

That was the time Sai had the nerve to drop her off in the middle of effing nowhere and she thankfully gotten a ride back to K-city. Perhaps, Sai had a change of heart and called backup to come get her. But that didn't explain why he didn't come for her himself, nor had it come to attention that Duy was there to bring her back home to face her father.

"Under whose orders exactly?" Sakura glared, watching the faint arch of his brow before neutrally coming to a nonchalant expression.

Aha, something's up that he knows but won't tell he.

"Your father's, of course."

Liar.

"Now, miss, since that's all settled, we need to get a move on." Duy clapped his hands and stood up, brushing the wrinkles from his clothes.

Sasuke's POV

Sasuke wrinkled his nose at the stench accumulating from the bathroom. It wasn't pleasant and it was no wonder Sakura took a much needed time in the bath to remove all that odor off her. But leaving the tub's faucet running? What was she thinking?

Then again, as an investigator, he found it suspicious that the linen closet was empty of hotel provided robes. He recalled peeling off his clothes once he got home and taking a hot shower to rinse off the rain. A bath seemed useless since water just sits in a tub and doesn't do its work of scrubbing away the smell.

A ringing sound was heard, whipping all their attention to the phone. Picking up the said phone, he answered.

"Hello, is this Mr. Uchiha?"

"Yes, this is he."

"This is Katherine from Reception. I was viewing the security camera and I think I found something you might be interested in seeing. Can you come down now?"

He complied, hanging up and notifying both the blonde and the employee. Naruto turned to follow the employee out but paused at the door, his eyes catching something.

"What is it?"

"The number nine… it's crooked."

"Yeah, so?" Said Sasuke from the bathroom.

"I don't know, I've always known you as the OCD type. This didn't bother you upon entrance?" Naruto wondered, scratching his chin. The employee made a comment of renovating the room once the damage is cleared away. The two babbled on, soon fainting away, leaving Sasuke to finish up his investigation.

From what he remembered, Kakashi informed him that Sakura didn't drink her morning away and that she went to the hotel sober. He suspected she slept in since it was practically dawn by the time she left Ricolette. Sasuke walked over to the unmade bed; it looked dry and smelled of fragrant sheets, unlike the imagery of Sakura crashing into bed after a long night. If he were she, he'd taken a shower before hitting bed, even if that meant sacrificing some sleep to remove the grime. Raising a brow, Sasuke observed even closer. Hinata said the complaint came the following day and if the cause of the complaint came from the bathroom, then where was Sakura the day before? Did she even sleep in this bed?

Something doesn't add up, he thought. Turning off the light, he turned to the main door and walked out the room, shutting the door behind him. It slammed shut, and to his surprise, the number nine swung down revealing the number six. "What the…"

Was this room not 219?

Sasuke glanced down the corridor, counting the even numbered doors until he came across a sight he hadn't seen coming.

A man with a bowl-shaped haircut dressed in a green attire was dragging a young woman in a white robe by her arm out the door. Her salmon-colored tresses were a punch to Sasuke's senses when he realized that the whole scenario he was standing in was a deliberate scheme and that Sakura was never in room 219 to begin with.

With adrenaline filling his body, Sasuke bolted towards the big man, his fist ready to plow through the man's head. But the man was quicker, as if he sensed him coming.

Sakura yelped as she was pushed forward.

"Get away from her!" Sasuke yelled.

"Sasuke?" Sakura cried out in bewilderment. "You… what are you doing here?"

"Don't interfere." The big man announced, kicking him away from them. "She's coming with me."

Like hell she is! Sasuke dodged another kick and lunged for another punch. "That girl stays!"

"What is she to you?" The man asked, blocking the throw and shoved Sasuke against the wall.

The impact left Sasuke breathless as he slid to the floor. Looking over, it seemed as though the brute man knew his way around a fight. A series of questions formed in his mind as he got up once more. What was Sakura doing with this man? What did this man have on Sakura that he came looking for her? A new quest to find out more about Sakura teased him as she stood a good six feet away from them.

"I'll ask again, what is she to you?"

Who was she to him? Sasuke wondered, digging his feet into the ground, ready for another round of tackling.
