Chapter 69 The finale part 1

4 weeks later

Princess Fallon

it had been four weeks since they've been in the hide-away; she wondered how Genevieve was doing, especially with her pregnancy, 'she would be about five months now,' she thought as she heard the door open from the cellar, it was Cole.

As soon as she saw him, she raced to hug him as he stood there before responding to the hug.

"I brought some stuff for you guys; quickly help me put them in," said Cole to Fallon as they brought the stuff in.

"Cole? Your back, how is everyone? Why are we still here?" asked Randolph confused.

"I've brought your highnesses more items, but I'm sorry it's not safe to come out yet." Said Cole as Fallon saw his expression and started to wonder.

"Cole, what's going on? Tell us," asked Edaline as Cole simply nodded before replying.

"You need to prepare yourself, this…... it isn't easy. The battle we had with Levi was a success, we won by capturing more men, but…..." said Cole as everyone's eyes started to wonder if they didn't want to hear those words, but they knew they might have to.

"But what?!" asked Fallon, inpatient as he looked at her as he said those words.

"We fear and think King Derek and Prince Tobias have died." He finally said as everyone stood there in shock.

"No! No, no, no, this can't be happening!" said Isla as she fell to the floor and started sobbing as Randolph went to his daughter and tried to calm her down.

"Queen Genevieve believes that they aren't dead, she's been trying to find them for weeks, but we found nothing. We won't stop until we find them and bring them back, even if it's just their….. bodies that we find." He said as everyone continued to cry.

"How's Genevieve and Alex?" asked Courtney.

"I'm not the one who should be telling you this, but you'll find out eventually; she's been suffering but at the same time calm because it's better for… the baby." He said like everyone, but Fallon stood there in shock.

"She's pregnant?!" asked everyone simultaneously as Cole stood there, and Fallon nodded to them.

"She should be about five months now." Said Fallon as Courtney looked at her angrily.

"You knew?!" asked Edaline as she nodded.

"We are all taking care of her; me, Phoenix, Gabriel, Brandon, Philip, and Alex. Henry and she are always protected by any of us; she made an agreement with Levi to try to stop him once and for all. But we don't know how long this could last, and for now, Levi is living here," said Cole as Randolph got close to him.

"Does Levi know about her pregnancy?" he asked, worried as Cole nodded.

"No, she's been hiding it by wearing the maternity dresses she wore the last few months of her last pregnancy; it shows nothing. Levi wants marriage to take over Glidonia; we are staling until the rest of your daughters answer the letter she sends them." Said Cole as Randolph nodded.

"I want to see her." Said Fallon as Cole looked at her as if she was crazy.

"You can't; I'm sorry, Fallon." Said Cole as she looked at him, confused.

"I wasn't asking you; I'm telling you." She said again, this time a bit annoyed.

"Do you realize that Levi is in the castle, and if, in any case, you decide to return here, he might follow and capture you all; it's a dangerous risk." Said Cole, worried but irritated.

"Fallon, I think he has a point there." Said Edaline as Fallon glared at her.

"I'm not going to stay here and wait while Genevieve is in trouble; I can possibly help in something. So, I appreciate that your all worried but…. I want to go see her and if I leave is because I'm not returning until all this is over, and you can't change my mind; it's already made up." Said Fallon as everyone else looked at her with hesitation.

"Fine, come with me. But if I get crap for this…." said Cole, but Fallon cut him off before he could finish.

"I will take the blame." She said as they left and headed to find Genevieve, they found her in her room with Henry, he looked so big, and it felt like just yesterday he turned one, and he was almost at 1 year and 6 months.

"Fallon?!" said Genevieve surprised as she went up to her sister and hugged her; Cole was right; she didn't look pregnant yet, but you could tell from other figures she did look a bit wider, and her breast grew again.

"Oh, my Fallon, I've missed you so much! But you shouldn't be here; it could be dangerous for you." Said Genevieve as she ended that hug she shared with her sister.

"Genevieve, I can't leave you alone now, especially with my new niece or nephew." Said Fallon.

"I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't budge, your majesty." Said Cole as she simply nodded understandably; she knew that whatever Fallon wanted, she got, and you couldn't convince her otherwise.

"How are you feeling? Cole was right; it doesn't look like it much, but it is something small but there. Has the baby kicked yet?" asked Fallon as she nodded.

"The baby only kicks when I talk about…. Derek." She finally said, devastated.

"I'm so sorry, Genevieve, that's why I want to help, for you and Isla. The poor thing isn't good either; when she heard about Tobias, she broke down and is depressed now; I can't just do nothing. Let me go with Cole and find your husband, and Tobias, I need to find my brother-in-law's for my sisters." She said as Genevieve simply nodded.

"Alright, but make sure no one sees you on the way out; Levi went to the village and should be back soon; I have heard from Delia and Ashlyn they agreed to help and send their soldiers to Blair's palace since it's a bit closer to Glidonia." She said as Fallon nodded.

"Oh, and I almost forgot, Delia finally gave birth. She had triplets; all were boys; she's happy except she secretly wanted a girl." Said Genevieve as Fallon looked shocked.

"We have 3 nephews?! Oh, my! Wow, I don't envy her." Said Fallon chuckling as Genevieve nodded.

"We better get going, Fallon." Said Cole as she rolled her eyes.

"Goodbye, Fallon." Said Genevieve as Fallon smiled and hugged her and brought her hope.

"I will bring your husband back," she said and left her sister.

She quickly picked up the pace and followed Cole; good thing she put on her suit for training which was like a hunter's outfit with her hair up before leaving.

"Where do we start?" she asked as he simply answered three words, "where it began." He said as they walked there, the walk was silent, but she could tell he was watching her.

'Maybe this is my chance?' she thought, then shook her head.

'No, Fallon, you're here for your sisters, ' she thought but then saw something in the bushes from far away; she frowned and tried to get a bit closer but pulled down by her hand; it was Cole.

"What are you doing?" she asked as he covered her mouth with his hand.

"I hope we find their bodies; first, I don't want anyone to find them, plus it will give me the joy to tell Genevieve that her precious Derek is dead." Said Levi as he and Angel chuckled.

"Angel get the men to move again when we return to the palace and try to find his body again; I want him dead or alive." Said Levi as Angel nodded.

"But what about Genevieve? What if she's playing and won't marry you?" asked Angel as Levi got upset and started yelling.

"You idiot, she has no choice either she does it, or she and her family die! And she isn't stupid. I know she will become my queen, and I will finally have what is mine!" Said Levi angrily as he left, and Fallon wanted to run after him and beat him, but Cole stopped her.

"Are you an idiot? You need to be careful, or they will catch us here, and they will throw us in the dungeons or have us killed." Said Cole as she rolled her eyes playfully.

"I know Cole, 'be careful, right?" said Fallon, smirking as he rolled his eyes and continued walking.

They came upon a two-trail road; he knew they would take the route North, but she saw something on the road that led East.

She got a bit closer to the path and saw something under a flower bush, "Cole!" she called to him as he came running to her quickly.

"Look." She said as she picked up a small piece of clothing that looked somewhat like a shirt Derek once wore.

"Where did you find it?" asked Cole as she pointed over to the floor of a flower bush.

"It was buried but stuck to a thorn; it looks like one of Derek's shirts." She said as he nodded.

"let's go this way; try to keep a lookout in case you find something else." He said as she nodded, and they continued to walk, she thought.

'Why did he race so fast when I called him? Could it be that he wants to protect her?' she thought but then snapped out of it because he broke the silence first.

"So, you don't want kids?" he asked as she frowned; that's what he asked first.

"Of course, I do; I love kids. Why would you think I don't?" she asked him calmly.

"Well, you told Genevieve you didn't envy your sister for having triplets, and that sounds like you don't want kids." He said as she smiled at him.

"That wasn't what I meant; the meaning to what I said was that I don't envy her because I know one day I'll have my kids, especially since it's only going to be one at a time." She said as he smirked at her.

"How do you know? Twins and triplets run in your family; you may get stuck with more than one while pregnant." He said, slightly chuckling at her.

"Well, if I do, I better enjoy life now while I still can." She said, smiling at him as he turned ahead of the road, looked at the sky, and stopped walking.

"We better stay here for the night; it looks like it might rain; there's a cave; we can sleep there and build a fireplace." He said as she nodded and was beginning to leave, but he stopped her.

"Where are you going?" he asked her, worried and slightly annoyed.

"To get firewood." She said as he rolled his eyes and then shook his head.

"I'll go you stay here and get the food from the backpack so we can eat." He said as she rolled her eyes and went to prepare the food.

The sunset had just settled down, and they ate, and now she was lying down trying to sleep but couldn't and got up and leaned a bit closer to the fireplace and saw that Cole was also there.

"You can't sleep?" she told him as he shook his head.

"No, and I'm guessing you can't either." He said as she smiled at him.

"Cole be honest with me, how… how many days do we have to find them?" she asked him as he looked at her before replying.

"One week, Genevieve is trying to stop the wedding, but Levi isn't a patient man; the sooner we find them, the better." He said as she nodded.

"Then it's better if we sleep." She said as she was going to get up, but then she felt Cole touch her hand; she looked at him and then his eyes, his dark brown eyes that he inherited from his mother.

"Cole?" she asked as he then softly touched her cheek.

"Fallon, we're from different worlds; this can't be. I can't give you the life you deserve; you are used to a nice castle, servants, the best clothing, and jewelry. I have none of that, I'm not rich, and I think it will be very selfish of me to keep you, so I've decided to let you go even though it will kill me seeing you with someone else." he said as he kissed her cheek and she slightly blushed.

He was about to leave, but now she stopped him.

"Cole, from the time you know me, I think you should have an idea of how I truly am." She said as she lightly brushed his hair.

"I don't care about any of those things; believe it or not, I did most of the things myself; I learned after the kingdom was almost attacked by my father's cousin Rowena. And Cole, I never wear much jewelry, my room is messy, and Cole's clothes don't matter." She said as he just looked at her eyes, lips, and back at her eyes.

"I know how life is, Cole, and I'm willing to do anything for love, but what about you? As my mother told me, once a title is just a title, there are more important things than a title. Maybe the trip will help you decide what you want to do or want, but Cole, please don't keep me waiting too long." She said as she got up and left to sleep at her place, then drifted off into slumber slowly.

Unknown

When I found them weeks ago, these two fellows seemed severely injured; they hadn't woken up yet, but they did mumble something in their sleep.

One of the brown-headed men almost died; if it wasn't for the leaves and tea slowly healing his wounds, he sure would have died.

"Mph?" said a voice, and he turned around to look like one of them was waking up.

"Where… where am... I? who… who are you?" said one of the men.

"I am the one who saved your life and the one who asks the questions here, how you feel?" he said as the brown-headed man tried to sit but then failed.

"Easy fella, you're not in good conditions to be doing that; you're still weak from whatever happened to you; try to take it slow; um, what's your name?" He said as the man lay back down.

"My…. My name is…. T…. Tobias." he finally said.

"Well, Tobias, I suggest you lay back down and get some more rest; you're not fully healed unless you prefer to eat some soup I made; it may taste terrible, but it will help you get your strength back, and you surely need it." Said the man as Tobias nodded.

"How long was I asleep for? And where's?" he started saying, but the man cut him off.

"Relax, your friend is in the other room, but he's in worse condition than you; he's hurt and still trying to get better. And to answer your question, you've been down for weeks." He said as Tobias drooped the spoon.

"What?! How is this possible?" said Tobias, all worried as the guy shrugged and then left the room; he went to look at the other guy, who seemed a bit better the last couple of days; he was pale, but it seemed like his colors were coming back.

"What's your name?" asked Tobias as the guy looked and saw him standing.

"You shouldn't be up. You aren't strong enough." He said as he took Tobias back to his room and lay him down on the bed.

"You and your friend are in good hands, trust me, now gets some rest Tobias… my name… is…. William." He said as he saw Tobias fall asleep again.
