Chapter 9

The 100 – solstice

Ok first sorry it took me so long to get this chapter out to you all, to begin with it was just so long to write and then stuff just kept happening with me making it harder and harder to find time to write. I'm back now though and I hope what I have here will be worth the wait for all of you, a lot of stuff will start to happen in this chapter so I think it will likely be a good read for you. As always please leave your thoughts.

Clarke griffin

As Bellamy drove them up a narrow winding road Clarke soon caught sight of the house she had heard so much about. As she finally laid eyes on the Blake's ancestral home Clarke had real difficulty thinking of it as a house, the word manor made much more sense.

On top of a gentle slope of clear grass sat the manor, a hulking monster of a building towering over them three stories high an imposing mass of warn old looking red and yellow bricks as well as almost black looking slate tiles on the roof. For the most part from what Clarke could see as Bellamy moved them closer to the manor it seemed to be laid out as a square but not a neat one, certain parts of the manor jutted out slightly making it look like they had been stuck on which Clarke would guess they had been. Clarke knew that houses like this were the work of generations so parts of the manor probably were older than others which would be why it didn't look like it quite fit together right in certain places.

It was still really something though and Clarke was definitely impressed, she couldn't imagine what it would have been like growing up in a place like this. Which ironically made her really get why Bellamy's cousin Cage wanted this place so bad, the manor was really impressive and it just said old and established so anyone who owned this place would most definitely come across well to people. Realising this Clarke even more hoped Bellamy and the rest of his family didn't lose this place she might never have met Cage but she felt like she understood things well enough to know that the manor should stay with Bellamy's family.

As Clarke thought all this over and continued to inspect the manor Bellamy pulled the car around part of the manor and parked them up in a small cobblestoned parking area next to several other cars. 'Well,' Bellamy asked turning the engine off and moving to face Clarke 'you impressed princess, it's quite a place isn't it, most people are really impressed when they see it for the first time.'

'O I'm definitely impressed,' Clarke grinned liking how proud Bellamy seemed of the manor in this moment 'I can tell your family must have been working on this place for a long time.'

'Yeah,' Bellamy nodded 'you've got that right, five generations of Blake's have lived here and helped make it what it is today.'

'You must be so proud,' Clarke remarked trying to keep her mind on this conversation but her and Bellamy's closeness was beginning to get to her. Being close to Bellamy made Clarke feel all kinds of things she tried to ignore most of the time, the sort of feelings her mum had always warned her about avoiding ever since she was young but when she was sitting next to Bellamy in a car it got a lot harder.

With this on the mind Clarke let out a large breath and got out the car so she could put some distance between her and Bellamy as well as hopefully damp down his sent a bit which as always was a real assault on her senses. Bellamy's sent always pulled things out of her, things her mum had always told her she needed to avoid, things like solstice or Alphas like Bellamy for that matter. Clarke knew her mum was overprotective, she understood that when it came to things like her cast and her sub cast condition she worried a bit too much, it was why she and her mum had issues sometimes around all this. How hard Clarke had needed to fight for her mum to let her live away from home for the first time was a good example of all that but the way Clarke felt when she was around Bellamy, the way his sent brought out her inner Omega made her see that her mum did have a point on some level.

'You ok Clarke,' Bellamy asked sounding concerned getting out of the car as well now worry clear on his face as he looked at Clarke over his car.

'I'm fine,' Clarke nodded forcing a smile doing her best to put thoughts of her and Bellamy out of her mind. 'Everyone's probably waiting for us Bellamy lets go in,' Clarke continued changing the subject, this was Octavia's birthday after all so this evening should be about her friend and not whatever may or may not be going on between her and Octavia's brother.

With this in mind as she walked through the front door of the manor after Bellamy had shut up his car Clarke tried to put herself into the mental head space where she could be the kind of friend Octavia would want tonight but as it was that proved to be less than easy at the present moment. Walking into a large hall with imposing stairs and doors leading off of it Clarke saw a few people hanging around she didn't recognise but it was obvious from the way they were acting things hadn't really started yet plus there was no music playing for one which was a good indicator. This left Clarke rather unsure what to do here so she looked over at Bellamy who was standing beside her expectantly waiting for him to do something thinking she could use that for a bit of direction.

Bellamy didn't say anything at first instead he took a few steps forward and looked around looking back and forth through two large arches either side of them, 'I think were not the last people here,' he remarked turning back to face Clarke. 'Gives me time to introduce you to some people while things are a bit more relaxed then I guess,' Bellamy added smiling a bright smile stepping towards Clarke beckoning for her to follow him with one of his hands in the direction of one of the arches.

Moving through the arch as Bellamy led the way Clarke saw a few people hanging around a large living space some of who she recognised like Harper who waved at her but again Clarke saw a lot of faces she didn't recognise. Moving closer to Bellamy now Clarke made to ask him about the people she was seeing wanting to know if some of the faces she was seeing were relatives or something like that but a sudden rush in Bellamy's direction stopped her.

Seemingly out of nowhere a small child appeared, the girl who had long messy brown curls bolted there way and jumped right at Bellamy who quickly out stretched his arms. 'Bellamy,' the girl squealed happily landing in his arms as he moved her upwards giving her a quick spin around making her light blue party dress flap a bit before he put her back down.

'Well that's quite a greeting,' Bellamy chuckled looking down at the girl who was beaming up at him.

'Sorry Bellamy,' the girl said bowing her head submissively 'I'm just really happy to see you, it's weeks since we last saw each other.'

'Madi,' Bellamy laughed 'you don't need to apologise, you didn't do anything wrong, I was just kidding around.'

'Madi,' Clarke said speaking up and inserting herself in to the conversation understanding now who this young girl was 'this is Madi?'

'Yes,' Madi nodded smiling a polite respectful smile in Clarke's direction answering her question 'I'm Madi.' As Madi introduced herself Clarke couldn't help but detect the slightest hint of Vanilla coming off of Madi which she knew was unusual for a child as young as Madi.

Everyone knew the basics of the different cast scents it wasn't like it was hard to remember, Omegas smell like vanilla and fermenting, Betas smell like wood and lavender and finally Alphas smell of musk and wood plus sometimes fermented fruit. It was simple enough there might be slight differences from person to person but there it was, everyone also knew those scents only really took hold after one had presented as a cast, at least that was how it was supposed to be.

With this in mind Clarke examined Madi a bit more closely, her hair was brown but it was a light brown and in general her features could not be described as dark which set Madi apart from Alphas which were usually rather darkly featured. Then there was what she was wearing Madi had on a dress that colour wise was rather similar to her own which was obviously an Omega thing, Alphas might traditionally like wearing dark clothing but they liked seeing others wear light colours hence why Omegas wore them a lot. Clarke wondered vaguely if Madi's dress was a coincidence but she doubted it, what people chose to wear was normally a good indicated of their cast or at least which cast they identified with and this felt like one of those times.

Being an Omega but living the life of a Beta as best she could Clarke knew better than most how much ones choice of clothes gave away ones cast, looking around the room at a quick glance Clarke wouldn't even need to use her sense of smell to identify the Omegas, Betas and Alphas in the room. Alphas might like to see light colours but they didn't like to wear them plus they wore layers because of how easy it was for them to feel cold so the guy Clarke could see in one corner of the room wearing a heavy black leather jacket chatting with a girl was an obvious Alpha. Omegas on the other hand had naturally low body temperatures so the cold didn't bother them which meant on Omega like Harper who was wearing a shoulderless light green dress was easy to spot as an Omega. Betas fell between Alphas and Omegas in many ways so they didn't stick out as much but they were really big on family so Betas who whore there family crest like the one Clarke could see chatting to Harper were very clearly Betas.

'Are you Clarke,' Madi asked now, drawing Clarke away from her train of thought and back to the small child in front of her who was sending her a polite but still submissive smile.

'Yes I am,' Clarke nodded returning Madi's smile which noticeably widened as Clarke confirmed who she was.

'Really,' Madi almost squealed squirming on the spot slightly clearly stopping herself from jumping forward and hugging Clarke 'Bellamy and Octavia have told me so much about you.'

'O really,' Clarke said giving Bellamy a quick side glance as she spoke who looked to be feeling a little uncomfortable now before looking back down at Madi 'only good things I hope?'

'O only good things,' Madi giggled speaking in a quick stream of speech 'I like art too, Bellamy says you like art, I really like being creative and stuff too, I'm creative like you, what's it like learning about art and stuff at college, who's your favourite artist?'

'Madi slow down,' Bellamy laughed cutting in on Madi mid-stream before she could say anything else 'let Clarke respond first ok.'

'I'm sorry,' Madi said quickly but slower than before bowing her head again and pouting her lip slightly this time 'I've just really been looking forward to meeting you Clarke.'

'It's ok I understand,' Clarke smiled finding Madi's small child enthusiasm very endearing 'my favourite artist is probably Monet, love the water lilies.' Clarke wasn't sure if this was true deciding what was her favourite anything was always such a challenge but she wanted to give Madi an answer so she gave her the one that came to mind first.

'The water lilies are very good,' Madi nodded giving Clarkes answer a noticeable deference 'I saw one of his paintings once, I like Van Gogh, did you know he was an Omega, Bellamy gave me a book about Omega artists once and he was in it.'

'I did know that actually,' Clarke said trying not to smile to much at how embarrassed Bellamy was clearly getting at the details about her family Madi was sharing. She'd guess Bellamy probably gave Madi that book to try and encourage Madi in her art which was really very sweet but guys did tend to find that kind of thing embarrassing so Clarke made an effort not to smile. It was hard to though Clarke's inner Omega had been really set off by that statement and was now creating all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings within Clarke which made it difficult not to smile.

Clarke opened her mouth to ask Madi if she had a favourite Van Gogh painting the idea being it would distract her away from the imagery that her inner Omega was now conjuring up in her head however before she could Madi was called for by a confident sounding woman's voice. 'Coming Indra,' Madi called back cheerfully turning away slightly to face the direction the voice had come from, having said this she turned back to face Clarke 'it was very nice to meet you Clarke,' she said smiling politely.

'It was really nice to finally meet you too Madi,' Clarke nodded smiling back. Having heard this Madi Immediately rushed off in the direction of a tall black woman with a rather proud face who looked formidable she could see standing at a door on the far end of the room right next to Gaia. 'That Indra then,' Clarke asked looking over at Bellamy who was still looking kind of embarrassed gesturing in the direction Madi had just sped off who Clarke could see was now being ushered through the door by Indra.

'Yeah, that's Indra,' Bellamy nodded taking a deep breath as he spoke probably trying to push his emotions down Clarke would guess 'and that was Madi,' he added actually managing a smile now.

'Yeah,' Clarke sighed feeling a little exasperated 'I see what you mean by the way that girl is definitely going to be an omega.'

'Tell me about it,' Bellamy said shooting Clarke a theatrical eye role as he spoke 'it couldn't be more obvious.'

'Definitely,' Clarke nodded, it wasn't like Omegas were especially rare about ten percent of the population were part of the Omega cast and being able to tell which cast a child was going to be when they presented wasn't unheard of, so it really should be obvious to anyone which cast Madi was going to be. Human evolution especially the evolution of the casts and how this had all come about was a remarkable mysterious thing to be sure, but there was a lot people did understand about casts and how things were so it did mean kids like Madi could be helped as they grew older. 'It's really nice how you are with her,' Clarke remarked thinking about this smiling at Bellamy especially thinking about the book Madi had talked about him giving her.

'Trust me, the way things are with her parents she needs me and the rest of the family to be there for her,' Bellamy sighed a regretful annoyed tone to his voice now as he spoke.

Clarke wanted to ask about this point but she didn't want to spoil the mood that still felt good to her so she decided against it, wanting to change the subject she looked around the room for ideas of conversation starters but as she looked a better idea occurred to her. 'How about a tour of this place,' Clarke asked looking back at Bellamy smiling triumphantly her inner Alpha creating a spark of assertiveness within her in this moment pushing her forward with the idea of getting them moving.

'That sounds like a great idea,' Bellamy smiled immediately moving back the way they had come his Alpha demeanour pushing him to be assertive and lead the way no doubt Clarke thought as she followed after him but she didn't mind this tore would probably be fun. Walking back the way they had come Bellamy led Clarke back into the entrance hall and then across the large area to a door at the back of the space 'you'll really like this,' Bellamy said quickly opening the door and leading her in.

Stepping through the door Clarke right away had to do a double take, it wasn't the biggest library she had ever been inside by any means but the library that Bellamy's family apparently had in there house was really something. The room was long so long in fact Clarke would guess the library probably took up a good bit of an area of the manor and all the walls were lined with book shelfs apart from the wall that had a series of large windows set into them. Also if that wasn't enough the library went up two stories, there were the book shelfs that were on the ground floor where Clarke was but above them two narrow spiral staircases led to a narrow walk way and more book shelfs.

'Your right,' Clarke laughed taking a few steps into the space stopping next to a large table 'I really like this, this is amazing Bellamy.'

'Yeah,' Bellamy grinned 'this has always been one of my favourite rooms in the house, not just because it's where all the books are either, this is actually just a great room to be in when the sun is shining.'

'Really,' Clarke asked looking over at the windows, it was night now so there wasn't a lot of light but looking at the windows Clarke could imagine when the conditions were right they would provide a lot of light. Turning away from the windows now though she turned her attention back to what was the centrepiece here, the books 'what sort of stuff have you actually got here,' she asked stepping towards the shelfs that were closest to her.

'All kinds of stuff actually,' Bellamy shrugged following after Clarke as she moved to stand in front of one section of books that seemed to be mostly blue covers. 'The family has been buying books for a long time so we have all kinds of stuff,' he added going into more detail 'we have a lot of different kinds of novels as well as more than a few books on history.'

'So loving books is a family thing for you then,' Clarke grinned beginning to walk along the shelfs darting between looking at the books and looking at Bellamy as she went who trailed after her. A love of books was very much something she and Bellamy had in common she knew, they talked a lot about novels but Clarke hadn't realised it was learned behaviour, with her books had always been a bit of an escape.

'I guess,' Bellamy shrugged 'reading was definitely something my uncle helped me get into but books were only ever an investment to my grandfather so coming in here was also a way to ovoid him.

'O,' Clarke said turning around to face Bellamy now stopping in front of a section of rather large books 'so reading was away of escaping for you?'

'You could say that,' Bellamy said shrugging again as he spoke 'but Clarke I've never much looked into it beyond the fact I like reading.'

'Fair enough,' Clarke nodded shrugging herself now turning her attention back to the books and looking to see what these large books were actually on.

'Most of these are illustrated calendar books,' Bellamy said noticing where Clarke was looking 'most of which are done using the Solstice calendar.'

'Really,' Clarke said eyeing Bellamy again intrigued by the concept, the whole idea of splitting the year up in to four parts did lend its self to some interesting illustration ideas. Clarke's mum had never liked using the Solstice calendar because of how it linked, to well, Solstice and everything that went on at that time of year choosing to use others instead but Clarke had to admit she had always found the idea interesting.

'Yeah,' Bellamy nodded seemingly pleased to be talking about this subject 'one of my relatives a few generations back was a big fan of festivals and all that kind of stuff so he got into collecting books like these that featured illustrations of all kinds of stuff that happens through the year mapping them out in a fun calendar.'

'O really,' Clarke whispered feeling herself blush slightly as she spoke, Clarke could imagine what kind of illustrations would be in these books. Even today things around Solstice for example could get really intense to say the least but in years past things Clarke knew from her mum were just crazy so Clarke would guess the illustrations in this book would not be the sort of thing she would want to look at. 'How about we get out of here,' Clarke began backing away from the book shelf feeling embarrassed searching for an excuse in her mind 'I'm sure you have lots of other things you can show me around this place.'

'Well that's true,' Bellamy smiled seemingly going with Clarke's change of direction 'I definitely have a lot of things I want to show you princess.' Having said this Bellamy immediately led Clarke across the library and out a door there leading her into another part of the manor which turned out to be a small seating area looking out a series of good sized windows. However before Clarke could properly take this space in Bellamy was off again walking up a narrow set of stairs that was to one side of the space meaning Clarke had to quickly follow after him.

'I think you'll really like this,' Bellamy said sounding very pleased as they reached the top of the stairs and moved out on to a mid-size landing room with doors and corridors branching off of it and with several paintings and black and white photographs on the walls.

'How do you mean,' Clarke asked politely, she felt like it was a good bet Bellamy was referencing the paintings but Clarke's inner Omega was whispering about letting Bellamy lead so she went with this.

'Over here, I'll show you,' Bellamy smiled moving in the direction of a large painting and gesturing for Clarke to follow with his arm seemingly oblivious to Clarke's decision to let him lead. 'This was painted by the official clan painter of the Lightbourns in the 1800s,' Bellamy supplied as they got close to the painting and Clarke got a good look of the painting that seemed to be of some kind of military parade. 'That's the Lightbourn,' Bellamy added gesturing at a rather well painted figure on horseback in the middle of the painting 'but that's a Blake,' he continued pointing at a figure to one side of the painting that was on foot but still looked well painted.

'Wow, that's really something,' Clarke said acting on her Omega instincts and her manors more than anything else. When it came to Clarke's family there was no real history there but there really was for Bellamy and from the looks of it he really cared about his family history so she wanted to be nice and act like she was interested. At least for a moment Clarke thought getting a flash of frustration from her inner Alpha at her submissiveness as Bellamy continued to show her this painting.

'I know,' Bellamy nodded smiling brightly 'it would have been really something to be selected to be a part of a Lightbourn painting, Mikal Blake must have really worked to get to where he was.'

'I'm sure he did,' Clarke nodded being honest in this moment, the clans didn't let just anyone get close to them so Clarke could be sure this Mikal Blake chap who was Bellamy's whatever great grandfather would have had to really work to get where he was.

'Yeah,' Bellamy said nodding himself now as he took a step back from the painting 'there have been a lot of really great Blake's over the years.' As Bellamy said this he moved over across the landing to where a medium size black and white photograph was displayed 'you recognise anyone princess,' he asked smiling a satisfied smile.

Examining the photo Clarke did recognise someone, she might not know much about history but she did know enough to recognise FDR who was to one side of the photo and seemed to be talking at some kind of event. 'When is this from,' Clarke asked mostly trying to engage with Bellamy again but there was a little bit of curiosity there as well she couldn't deny.

'This was taken not long after WW2 began,' Bellamy explained 'FDR wanted to meet with all the clan leaders and their revenues to make sure they supported the war and all that.' Bellamy paused for a moment to take a breath here but then kept going 'and if you look over here,' he directed gesturing at one part of the photograph 'you can see the Lightbourn revenue and the guy standing two away from the Lightbourn that's my great grandfather.'

Examining the photo as she was directed Clarke spot who Bellamy was directing her towards, she couldn't see a lot of the man just a head as he was standing behind a bunch of people but she was sure it was him because the man looked just like Bellamy except with a beard. 'You look a lot like your great grandfather,' Clarke remarked eyeing Bellamy and the image in quick succession taking in both Bellamy's and the man in the pictures features that Clarke guessed now were a Blake family thing.

'Yeah, a lot of people say that,' Bellamy said smiling a proud smile 'from what I've been told he was a really good man, even if he did somehow farther my grandfather.'

'O, errm,' Clarke stuttered thrown off by this change in direction now and Bellamy was frowning a really deep frown now so Clarke really didn't know what to say.

'You know my Great grandfather had five children,' Bellamy went on shaking his head opening up about another part of his family history 'two sons three daughters but by the time he died only one of them was in any position to take over at the head of the family.'

'Really,' Clarke gulped sensing that there were more than a few sorted Blake family stories here 'you know Bellamy you don't need to tell me anything if you don't want too,' she ventured just wanting to put that out there. This statement proved to annoy Clarkes inner Omega though what are you doing it spat inside her mind he needs to lean on you he needs to unload, Clarke ignored the thought though there was no telling really what Bellamy actually needed here.

Looking at Clarke Bellamy nodded slightly thoughtful looking, 'your right,' he sighed 'let's not put a damper on the evening by talking about any of that.' Smiling again now apparently getting back in to the swing of things Bellamy stepped away from the picture and started moving in the direction of one of the corridors that led off the landing room. 'I think I'll show you where I asleep when I stay here now,' Bellamy said as he moved out a head leading the way down the corridor sparking an uncomfortable feeling within Clarke the moment she heard this.

Clarke understood showing someone your bedroom wasn't necessarily an intimate gesture but it sort of was for Clarke especially considering it was Bellamy who was showing her his bedroom. As she followed after Bellamy walking down the apparently long corridor Clarke wondered about her meds, all the pills she took were supposed to stop her feeling the kind of feelings she so often felt when she was around Bellamy but they didn't. Clarke could handle herself well enough but the idea that there was something about Bellamy that cut through her medicine was concerning to Clarke and she felt like it was something that warranted greater attention on her part.

These concerns were pushed out of her mind here though because as Bellamy came to an oak wood door he turned around and smiled brightly at Clarke distracting her. 'Right through here,' he smiled opening the door and gesturing for Clarke to walk in a head of him no doubt so she could get and unobstructed view of his room.

Walking into Bellamy's bedroom Clarke was right away hit with the smell, the Alpha sent Bellamy put off always hit her hard but walking into this room was something else altogether. It was like the smell of musk and fermenting fruit hit her full in the face to the point she actually took a step back but her in Alpha's defines spired her on so she immediately took another step forward and then another. Ignoring the sweat that was now starting to come up across her skin as well as the wetness in other places Clarke started to look around Bellamy's room if just to distract herself a bit.

It was a good size room with a large window along one side of it and with walls covered with light green ornate wall paper, there was another door as well across from them which Clarke assumed led to a bathroom. Taking another step inside Bellamy's room looking around a bit more Clarke smiled, after sharing a room with Octavia for a while now Clarke knew she was ordered and Octavia was disordered however Octavia had also said that her brother was ordered the same way Clarke was and seeing this room was proof of that.

All of the rooms furniture was at right angles and lined up with each other, the bed was in line with the wardrobe and Bellamy's desk was perfectly spaced with a large book case. There were some posters stuck to the walls one of which was for imagine dragons but they were all lined up with each other as well in a grid and the large bed was made perfectly to the point there were no creases. Even Bellamy's desk had papers and everything laid out in a fashion that some would describe as OCD like the rest of the bedroom but not Clarke, her bedroom back home was just like this.

'Well,' Clarke smiled taking another step in to Bellamy's bedroom and then turning around to face him 'Octavia wasn't exaggerating when she said you were a fan of order.'

'I thought you would like it in here,' Bellamy grinned clearly very pleased to have gotten this response from her 'I knew you and I would feel the same way about this sort of thing.'

He wants to impress you Clarke's inner Omega whispered in her head as Bellamy said this, Alpha wants to show that he can give you the things you want, Alpha wants to give us things. 'Well I do,' Clarke said taking in a deep breath smiling as best she could while trying to internally bash down her inner Omega and all the instincts attached to it. Things were tuff with Bellamy sometimes, the whole Omega Alpha thing was a lot to swallow but she did know how to handle herself, think of Mum and Finn she thought to herself as Bellamy took a step towards them closing the gap between them a little.

'It's an incredible view as well isn't it,' Bellamy said moving to stand next to Clarke now pointing out the window seemingly oblivious to what Clarke was going through right now.

Think of Finn, think of Finn, think of Finn Clarke thought over and over to stop the thought her inner Omega was putting in her head as well to help with what Bellamy sent was doing to her body. It really amazed Clarke that Bellamy was able to handle himself, it was difficult for her but Bellamy didn't take the pills she took even though he had a sub cast condition as well she really didn't know how he did it. Clarke had only experienced one heat in her life but she remembered it and what Clarke was feeling right now felt similar in a way, not as intense nowhere near as intense in fact but similar and still pretty bad.

'You ok,' Bellamy asked turning to face Clarke now concern on his face 'you seem off.'

Now you see it Clarke thought her inner Alpha bubbling up for a moment but it was quickly replaced by her inner Omega that cued at the concern. 'Errrm,' Clarke tried but she was having difficulty forming words now plus she didn't really want to admit that just being in here and close to Bellamy was, well what was the sense in denying it, being in here was turning her on.

'Clarke you can tell me,' Bellamy said laying a hand on her shoulder in an effort to be reassuring Clarke was sure but it didn't help.

Feeling Bellamy touch her made Clarke melt a little bit she leaned in to him wanting to get closer to him, wanting him to envelop her and never let go. As this desirer sparked through Clarke she squirmed on the spot trying her best to fight it, desirer is ok she thought to her self-everyone feels this sort of thing sometimes what matters is what you do when you feel this. You're a virgin after all she thought looking at her feet now continuing with this internal monologue so it makes sense you think about something you haven't experienced before.

'Clarke you look at me,' Bellamy demanded sounding lightly frantic clasping his other hand on her other shoulder 'what is wrong, what is happening.'

Clarke didn't say but she did as she was asked opening her eyes wide and looking up right into Bellamy's eyes staring right at him. He had her now Clarke knew it to her core, if Bellamy were to use an Alpha command on her in this moment to get her to do something right now Clarke would be powerless to resist, whatever it they stared in to each other's eyes Clarke could tell Bellamy realised this fact and she could also tell he was thinking about the possibilities of what he could do or get her to do. 'Alpha,' Clarke said in small voice it was barely more than a whisper but it was enough for Bellamy to hear and the moment he heard this he let go of her and took three steps back looking away from Clarke as he did so breathing heavily.

Clarke let a moment pass here but then she took a few steps back as well breathing heavily herself, she didn't know why she had done that, why she had used Bellamy's designation but she was glad she had done it because it had seemed to break something. Panting Clarke brushed sweat off her face trying to think of what to say but all that came to mind was Finn and how she was in another guy's room when she already had a boyfriend, one who loved her. Finn thought she was having a quiet girl's night tonight, it was enough of a problem Clarke had lied when he had asked but this was so much worse, she had a boyfriend she repeated internally.

'Can we please go back to the party,' Clarke croaked her voice dry now for some reason she didn't know what else to say but she was sure that was the right move for her and for Bellamy as well. There was definitely a part of Clarke that wanted to stay here with Bellamy but she couldn't do that to Finn and besides it was just a very dark kind of instinctive desire that kept those thoughts popping into her head, thoughts that should be ignored.

'I think that's probably a good idea,' Bellamy said in a barely audible voice looking at Clarke with a pained expression, this had obviously been difficult for him as well.

Bellamy Blake

As Bellamy led the way back to the party with Clarke trailing a few paces behind him in silence he internally tried to get his inner Alpha to go silent but that proved difficult. That part of Bellamy's mind kept yelling at him to take Clarke and make her his as well as a whole load of other things, basically his inner Alpha wanted him to be the kind of Alpha Clarke's mum believed all Alphas were.

Bellamy was really glad Clarke had asked to go back to the party; the request had relaxed something within Bellamy enough that he was able to get himself under control and do just that. If she hadn't Bellamy would definitely have kissed her and he doubted he would have been able to leave things there this time which in turn would have led to all kinds of things which neither he or Clarke needed.

Bellamy hadn't been really sure before but he was now, a rut was coming up. It wasn't here yet but he knew his body well enough to know that it was really close now and he would soon need to find a way to get through it. He didn't want to just find some random girl to sleep with to get over his rut when it came but if he wanted to be around Clarke without feeling like he was going to rip her in two at any moment he was going to need to do something. Maybe he'd go to the clinic, Bellamy often liked to avoid that place because of the meds they handed out but he might need too just this once.

Getting to the bottom of a set of stairs Bellamy quietly led Clarke to the right door and opened it for her hoping that the two of them could just sneak back into the party unfortunately that proved impossible. As Clarke stepped through the door and Bellamy followed after her he caught a slight sent of Catnip perfume and before he could even really register what that meant a slim blond figure in a designer dress appeared in front of them. 'Bellamy,' Josephine squealed being overly theatrical as always 'there you are, you haven't been hiding from your favourite cousin have you?'

'No, Jose,' Bellamy sighed rolling his eyes moving so he was standing in front of Clarke now 'I was just showing Clarke here around and for the record Madi is my favourite cousin.'

'You keep saying that but I know the truth,' Josephine countered wagging a finger at him her face plastered with a kind of aggressive grin. 'So this is the Clarke Octavia told me about,' Josephine said after a moment's thought turning her attention to Clarke who had moved to stand beside Bellamy now looking her up and down 'I must say you don't disappoint.'

'Errm thanks,' Clarke said in an unsure voice clearly at a loss on how to respond to Josephine as most people were when they first met her 'it's nice to meet you,' she added out stretching her hand.

'Same,' Josephine smiled brightly taking Clarke's hand getting ready Bellamy could tell to say one of her favourite things to say 'I'm Josephine Lightbourn.'

The effect was immediate as it always was when Josephine did this Clarke's mouth fell open and a look of shock and fear spread across her face but to her credit Bellamy noticed that Clarke finished the motion of shaking his cousin's hand and then let go. A lot of people would just fall apart when Josephine did that but not Clarke, not his princess, she kept her cool and just continued as if Josephine hadn't given her any unusual information, Clarke really was quite a girl.

'I'm glad you could be here tonight,' Bellamy said smiling a rather smug smile very impressed with how Clarke had just coped with his cousin 'I know you have a busy schedule.'

'Well you're my cousin and Octavia is your sister so why wouldn't I be here,' Josephine shot back no doubt trying to embarrass him in front of Clarke with insinuations about his family which Clarke already knew about.

'O, I get it now,' Clarke said fighting back herself suddenly with a light edge to her voice 'I take it Bellamy's grandmother was a Lightbourn then before she got married, your great aunt, making you and Bellamy cousins once removed.' Clarke clearly had not liked Josephine's little jab there so she was fighting back with the knowledge she had when it came to Bellamy's family which he appreciated and was kind of impressed by.

'Semantics,' Josephine giggled shrugging an non concerned shrug acting like Clarke hadn't just surprised her 'all those different designations are far too complicated if you ask me, I call Bellamy my cousin and that works just fine for me.'

'Fair enough,' Clarke granted shrugging herself now, matching Josephine's movements Bellamy noticed 'plus I can imagine Bellamy is a lot more nicer to be around than many of your cousins.' Bellamy had to take a deep breath in here to stop himself from laughing, he didn't know what had gotten into Clarke maybe it was her sub cast condition or something but for some reason she wasn't letting up when it came to Josephine.

'Well your right there,' Josephine smiled taking the statement at face value 'most of my cousins who are honoured with the Lightbourn name try to use it to get whatever they want out of me and others but not Bellamy though.'

'Thanks Josie,' Bellamy sighed not sure if that was really a compliment but taking it as such. As he said this Bellamy noticed Josephine's eyes dart away from him and Clarke for a moment and whatever she saw changed her demeanour for some reason.

'Well it was nice to meet you Clarke,' Josephine said quickly turning her attention on Clarke 'but I'm sorry I've got to go, my followers need me,' she added pulling her phone into her hands. 'Bye bye to you as well Bellamy,' Josephine continued quickly as she was moving away phone in hand 'I'd encourage you to keep this one,' she shot pointing at Clarke 'she's got spine.'

'It's not like that,' Bellamy shouted but it was too late Josephine was gone and a moment later he saw why she had rushed away because suddenly his grandmother appeared. 'Grandmother,' Bellamy said quickly straitening up instinctively as the old white haired woman who was wearing a dress and shoal moved in front of him and Clarke clearly inspecting both of them with a lazar focused gaze.

'Nice of you not to run off as well,' Grandmother said in a curt voice looking from Bellamy to Clarke and back again 'I'm just looking to say hello, this is a party after all.'

'You know what Josephine can be like,' Bellamy gulped unsure what he should really be saying here, his grandmother could be a wonderful person but she was also kind of complicated. Which was understandable really, she had been married to a monster, seen her son die and had to take a big role in razing him and Octavia when there mum had died so his grandmother was a woman who had been through a lot.

'Yes,' grandmother said nodding a knowing nod as she turned back to Clarke 'I'm Alice,' she introduced nodding again offering Clarke her hand 'I take it your Clarke.'

'That's me,' Clarke smiled politely taking Bellamy's grandmothers hand and shaking it warmly 'it's nice to meet you, I've heard good things about you.'

'O really,' grandmother smiled eyeing Bellamy as she spoke 'you've heard some stories about our family then from Bellamy and Octavia?'

'Grandmother,' Bellamy began slowly not sure he liked where this was going but before he could go any further Clarke cut across him.

'Yes they both have,' Clarke nodded quickly acknowledging this truth 'and yes some of those stories are bad but a lot of them are good as well such as the ones that involve you.'

Bellamy felt an immediate surge of affection for Clarke the moment she said this so much so his inner Alpha started whispering things like she is worthy in his mind. Bellamy loved his grandmother so much, so to hear Clarke complement her like that really made him smile quite a lot, there were people he allowed his grandmother to meet and then there were the others he was really glad Clarke looked to be the first kind.

'That's good to hear,' grandmother nodded looking directly at Clarke but side eyeing Bellamy as she spoke letting him know she was watching him to see how he reacted to her prodding. 'Might I just say I really like your dress by the way,' grandmother added after a moment's pause moving the conversation on 'it's a little restrained but the colour really makes you stand out.'

'Thank you,' Clarke said smiling a slightly uncomfortable smile looking between Bellamy and his grandmother clearly a little unsure of herself in this moment. 'I really like the colour of your shoal as well,' she continued after a moments pause apparently deciding on that kind of response 'it's a lovely pale colour but with a warmth in places as well.'

As his grandmother and Clarke began to chat about of all things colours Bellamy found himself scanning the room and those around him his Alpha instincts prompting him to be on the lookout for any dangers that might come their way. They were back with the party now but not with the main throng of people so there were a fair few people spattered around them right now but not too many that Bellamy couldn't give them all a once over, not that there was any real danger here though. These were all just party guests standing around and chatting enjoying them self's all of them dressed for a casual fun night celebrating Octavia's birthday.

No one was quite dressed for some of the kinds of parties Bellamy went to at college but even with the casual dress he could tell people's casts, it wasn't hard. There were the dark colour clothes of the Alpha's, the crests of the Beta's and the light colours of the Omega's all casually done but not hard to see. Harper for example who he could see to the side of them was wearing a light green dress that was a lot longer than some things he had seen her wear even if it was shorter than the one Clarke was wearing.

As Bellamy gave Harper a glance thinking all this over he realised that she was looking his way and sending him a disapproving look as she did so and he didn't have to guess why. Clarke still didn't want him to tell people the stupid little bet he had made was off but he also knew people hadn't forgotten about it, no one besides Octavia had actually said anything about it but he knew it was on people's minds. Why wouldn't it be, after all they had all been getting to know Clarke over the last few months and as far as they were all aware he was trying to seduce her for no other reason than to prove that he could?

It was awkward to put it mildly but this was the way Clarke wanted it and he was inclined to give her this one, he had actually made the bet in the first place after all. Besides it wasn't like it would ever be a problem Clarke had a boyfriend one she seemed for some reason Bellamy didn't really understand to love so nothing was ever going to happen like that between him and Clarke. It could, Bellamy's inner Alpha said as he thought this over and you want it to happen but he quickly pushed those thoughts down turning his attention back to Clarke and his grandmother.

However just as Bellamy was starting to think how he could join in with the conversation the two of them were now having about historical paints and their origins he heard someone calling for him. Turning Bellamy saw Madi rushing forward looking around apparently trying to find him 'what is it Madi,' he asked as she spotted him and moved to stand in front of him bowing her head slightly as she did.

'Octavia told me to come find you,' she nodded smiling a polite submissive smile 'Raven's boyfriend is here and she told me you would want to meet him.'

'Really Mr Right is here,' Bellamy grinned he was finally going to meet the guy Raven was always gushing over and plus he now had a solid distraction from Clarke and the tension they had been experiencing which would be an added plus.

'Yes,' Madi said giggling slightly at the use of the name he and Octavia used to refer to Raven's boyfriend.

'Well I'm on my way,' Bellamy said smiling at Madi's reaction 'why don't you come too he said turning back to face Clarke.

Clarke griffin

Following after Bellamy who was in turn following after Madi who was leading the way Clarke couldn't help but wonder about Raven's boyfriend, like anyone would be she had been curious but she didn't know much. She knew bits and pieces from Bellamy, Octavia and even Raven but not much really. Clarke knew that he was apparently a private guy hence why this was the first time he would be meeting people and that Raven seemed to honestly love the guy but beyond that she didn't know anything so meeting him would be interesting she thought.

Looking behind her Clarke saw that Harper who had probably overheard Madi's news was trailing after them as well, guess everyone wants to be here for this she thought absentmindedly smiling slightly turning back to look in front of her. Eyeing Bellamy's back as Madi led them through several rooms in the direction off the so called Mr Right Clarke felt a twinge of sympathy for the guy. The group of friends she had found herself assimilated by wasn't exactly a pack in the traditional sense Clarke knew but Bellamy definitely took charge to a certain extent, he didn't exactly act like a Pack Alpha but what he did was close which was why Clarke felt sympathy for this guy.

Raven was an Alpha and from what Clarke had seen she could look after herself but Bellamy was Bellamy and an Alpha like Bellamy was never going to like someone being outside of view. If she was being honest with herself Clarke understood the emotion, because of her own inner Alpha she understood that there were people Bellamy cared about, people he felt obligated to care for so when there was an unknown element it was grating. Clarke didn't think Bellamy would get to up in Mr Right's face about everything but she did expect to see more than a few very direct questions from Bellamy when Raven's boyfriend was finally introduced to them.

He's such a good Alpha, Clarke's inner Omega whispered in her mind as they got within a few steps of a gaggle of people she assumed had Raven and Mr Right at its centre, an Alpha that so many Omegas probably want. As this thought popped into her head Clarke quickly gave it a little shake things had been tense enough in Bellamy's bedroom so she couldn't afford to go there again, she'd been very close to doing something that she knew she would have regretted. There was a certain connection between her and Bellamy Clarke could admit that but she had Finn and she loved him so whatever she might feel for Bellamy she had to stay committed to Finn, it was probably just Omega and Alpha hormones anyway.

Staying close to Bellamy as they started moving through the crowd Clarke continued to think this over which was why when she heard Bellamy say 'this is Mr, I mean Finn,' she thought she had miss heard him at first. 'What was that,' Clarke asked engaging fully with what was going on looking up at Bellamy, then at Raven and after that at the guy standing next to her which proved to be an earth shattering choice.

'Yeah, sorry I should have said your boyfriend and Raven's share a,' Bellamy began but he trailed off at the end no doubt seeing the devastation Clarke was feeling on her face as she looked at Finn, her Finn, standing next to Raven. 'Clarke, are you ok,' Bellamy asked concern in his voice right away grabbing hold of her hand to try and get her to look at him but she didn't Clarke just kept staring at Finn who had a mix of shock and terror on his face.

Part of her tried to deny this was happening, come up with some explanation for what she was seeing other than the one that was right in front of her but it was no use, Clarke knew what this was. She felt sick, Clarke really felt like she was about to throw up but at the same time she felt empty as well she didn't have anything within her to expel, even her inner Omega and Alpha were both gone. There was no whispering, no instinct, no anything apart from her and the devastation Clarke was feeling, Finn was cheating on her, or wait was it worse than that?

'Yeah Clarke what's wrong,' Octavia asked joining in with her brothers concern as well but Clarke barely heard her.

Glaring at Finn who seemed to have been shocked into a stunned silence Clarke turned to look at Raven who like everyone looked concerned for her; this is going to be bad she thought before she began. 'How long have you two been going out Raven,' Clarke asked in a raspy voice feeling like she already knew the answer but needing to hear it said out loud anyway.

'Like three years now,' Raven replied frowning clearly taken aback by this question. As she said this Clarke felt Bellamy who still had a hold of her hand squeeze tight no doubt seeing what was going on here now a bit quicker than everyone else was.

'Well that's interesting,' Clarke sighed feeling her voice crack as she did so 'because for the last two years he's been going out with me as well.'

Well I'm sure you all saw that coming and have been waiting for it in fact. Again I really am sorry it took me so long to get this chapter out there were just so many delays. Hopefully I will be able to get the next chapter out sooner because I have a lot of fun things planned.
