Thanks everyone who has left a review, favorited or is following this story. I'm sorry for not updating in the last five days. I've already in mind what to do with the story, but how to write it... well, it's a lot different since many times I just ain't able to find the right words, and being from Brazil (for those of you who do not know, I'm brazilian and speak portuguese) doesn't help either. Oh yeah, and for the one who asked, I'm not planning to "teleport" other Naruto characters right now and even if I do in the future, it'll have a major purpose and a good reason, so don't expect it to happen at all. Thank you.

Warning: as of 12 June, 2022, this chapter has been edited. Some of the content of the chapter was changed in comparison to its old version — it has now one more scene than the original chapter hade —, but it still is roughly the same chapter. If you find something wrong with the grammar, please point it out so that I can correct it. Chapter 6 has been entirely rewritten — if you have read it prior to the aforementioned date, I'd recommend you to read it again.

Nagato left at the first sunlight, not really tired since he had spent the last few days resting. The night before he had tried to talk to some Fairy Tail members, but most of them would keep trying to avoid eye contact with his Rinnegan - and, although Nagato knew he couldn't blame them, it was quite unnerving. At least he was able to make friends with two kids, Gray and Cana, and a man named Macao. Erza wouldn't be there until afternoon since she was on a job (what Nagato found to be exactly the same as the missions given by ninja villages), and the Rinnegan bearer decided to go before that.

Right now, the former Akatsuki was in the train to Hargeon. He had so much to think about - what happened to him, where he was, what he had done so far, why he decided to join Fairy Tail, Makarov's words about him being a good person -, the man almost didn't notice as the train slowed down. When it finally stopped, he was already in Hargeon. Good thing the town was pretty close to Magnolia.

"Look daddy, his eyes-..." Nagato heard some random child talk, but didn't pay any attention since he was used to people reacting at the sight of his Rinnegan. In fact, he would be very surprised to find someone who would not react that way. From the few things he saw on the way to the port, Nagato noted the town was more focused in fishing than magic since there was only one small magic store.

"Are you crazy?!" The eyes of the sailor Nagato was talking to immediately widened after hearing where the redhead intended to go. "There's no way in hell I'm taking you to Galuna Island, go away. Good luck finding someone that crazy." As if he had seen the Devil himself, the man turned around and quickly walked away from him.

Shit, no one will take me there. Nagato sighed: that man was his last hope before resorting to the use of chakra to reach Galuna Island. Using Chikushōdō won't take that much chakra, but I wanted to spare my energy for a while. Not sure what I'll find there. Well, complaining now won't achive anything. His hands clasped together and the Rinnegan user quickly went through a few handsigns before hitting the ground with the palm of his hand. "Kuchiyose no Jutsu!" Spreading like the web of a spider, sealing marks formed around the spot he'd placed his hand, and then a giant smoke cloud covered not only Nagato's body, but a large section of the port. Sailors and fishermen alike yelled and ran away when a giant green bird suddenly appeared from the smoke, Nagato already standing on its head. Not unlike the one who summoned it, the great bird had Rinnegan eyes. Perhaps summoning it right here wasn't a good idea. Deciding it would be better to avoid creating mass panic, the ninja commanded his summoned creature to rise in the air and fly away. As the bird sped up a loud explosion signaled the moment it broke the sound barrier. It wouldn't be that long of a long travel.

Meanwhile, master Hades was feeling satisfied with his growing guild. Previously known as Purehito, co-founder and second master of the Fairy Tail guild, he had left that name and life a long time ago. Purehito had been dead for many years now, and in his place Master Hades of Grimoire Heart was slowly rising, the master of the soon-to-be most powerful dark guild in the world; named after a new magical source from the Book of Zeref the old man was trying to create, it would soon manage to bring the great Zeref back from the dead. Right now, he hadn't enough power to challenge powerful people like Tartarus guild, but in a few more years... he smiled as he thought of his current situation: the Grimoire Heart flying basement was heading straight to Galuna Island, where a new key for Zeref's return waited for them. And this time Hades knew it was a powerful one.

Even from here I can feel the key's power. It makes me tremble... Perhaps and most likely, he thought, the feeling wasn't even real. But Hades couldn't help himself, knowing each new key collected was a step closer to Zeref's resurrection and to the One Magic, to the Ultimate Magic World.

"Hades." A thought projection suddenly appeared in front of his throne. It took the form of very tall and muscular man.

"What is it, Bluenote?" The master asked, obviously annoyed by the sudden interruption.

Unlike the others, Bluenote obviously didn't fear him. As much as this could be a problem in the long run, Hades knew even this powerful mage was no match for the power he'd gathered so far, so he just let him be for now. As long as Bluenote continued to prove useful, the dark master was willing to ignore his silent defiance. The man stopped for a moment and looked around. "I don't think it's important, but a sailor told me something that may or may not interest you. A giant green bird suddenly appeared a few minutes ago in Hargeon. It was last seen heading towards Galuna Island. While it may not be important, the bird had... how was that he said..."

Bluenote's gaze fixed on Hades's face once again.

"Purple eyes with a... 'ripple pattern that spreads over the eyeball', I heard. Oh, and some idiot was standing on its head, too. Not sure of who the guy was, probably not anyone important. That's it."

Hades was not surprised by how quickly Bluenote could get information once it was available. Since he was a former Lieutenant Colonel of the Gohra Army, the man had many powerful contacts all across Ishgar, one of the reasons Hades had recruited him and was willing to play along with his overall disrespectful demeanour as long as he did not openly challenge him. But... purple eyes with such a unique trait? As he forced himself to remember what eyes like that meant, his own single eye widened — The Rinnegan. No, it can't be. It's just a myth... isn't it?... but... Hades remembered a very old legend Mavis had once told him, the same legend he would eventually tell Makarov at some point before leaving Fairy Tail.

"It is said that in times of great disorder, one with the Rinnegan shall be sent down by the gods." Purehito said as he looked at Makarov. The younger man's eyes were fixed on the master, full of interest. But as the story progressed, the one who would eventually come to be known as master Hades began to speak more to himself than to Makarov. Like his future successor, he was interested in the story, but for very different reasons; he desired that power would belong to him, the power to rival even the gods. "One who will be born to fulfill his destiny, to become either a God of Creation who will bring peace to the world or a Destroyer who will turn everything into nothingness. The Rinnegan... Godlike power."

"Sounds like just a myth, master." Makarov's answer didn't surprise him. "There's no way such a powerful magic could exist on this world."

"But it isn't from this world, is it now? After all..." Purehito smiled. "They're the eyes of God."

If there was some truth in what Bluenote told him, the Grimoire Heart master couldn't even imagine what manner of power he would possess once the Rinnegan was his. Perhaps this was the new key of Zeref he'd sensed, and perhaps that was the reason for his body to be shaking so much. Rinnegan. It shall be mine.

It took not over ten minutes after leaving Hargeon for Nagato to arrive at Galuna Island. High from the sky he could easily confirm that the place really was shaped like a crescent moon, something which raised many questions in his mind. The Land of the Moon is an island in the shape of a moon. The redhead thought as he took a few steps through the beach, his summoning jutsu already undone. Even from how far away he was, Nagato could sense it — a lot of energy signatures just ahead, most likely a village or small town. It still puzzled him a bit, since this magic of them was so much different from chakra, but he was slowly growing used to it. Anyway, his destination was not that settlement. Not now, at least. Instead, the Rinnegan user headed towards the same castle ruins he had seen before landing. They had to be special, since his eyes detected something different there.

His walk through the forest didn't last long. Nagato saw himself on the top of the ruins a few minutes later, his Rinnegan able to see the power running through them. It was as if the walls had been built out of living stone, alive in a sense that made them not too different from the trees around them. Deep inside he could feel something warm, old... and big. Bigger than everything Nagato had came across so far — perhaps not bigger in size, but it was a weird sensation to explain. Before he even realised it, Nagato's legs were taking him through underground hallways.

As a shinobi, Nagato had been taught by Jiraiya that he should never let his guard down, but he quickly found it to be an extremely difficult task in that place. It made him feel relaxed, as if nothing in the world could do him harm. The walls seemed to sing to him, a music detected only by his Rinnegan; it should be impossible to hear something through your eyes, but that pretty much was happening there. He wouldn't be able to stop walking, even if he wanted to.

If asked, the former leader of the Akatsuki would struggle to tell how much time he spent just walking through these hallways. He was not looking for anything specific, he just knew there was something there for him... and soon enough the seemingly endless hallways led him into a large room, a chamber so big it probably would fit a few tailed beasts within.

"This is it... there must be something in here, I just have to..."

I see you, Nagato.

Someone spoke. Nagato immediately turned around, but there was no one around. Even if that was the case, he most certainly would've felt the person approaching. The voice was alien in the sense it was impossible to tell if it belonged to a man or a woman. How did that person know his name?

Do not fear. I am no threat to you. You've come here looking for answers; intuition brought you up to me, but are you ready to learn why I brought you back to the world of the living?

Nagato's eyes widened. The voice did not come from anywhere around, it came from within his head. Someone was interacting with his mind. He knew there were some shinobi capable of doing that, but in this world there were no shinobi around as far as he knew. Besides that, it didn't feel the same.

"I am ready. Please, tell me: why am I here? Why did you bring me back? How did you do it?"

Your questions shall be answered in time. For now, know that: your instincts brought you this far, and they'll continue to guide you. Listen to them.

That's when Nagato noticed a hole in the ceiling. Its shape was too round for it to be the result of natural damage, which could only mean it was intended to be there. Moonlight came into the ruins through it, but it felt... different. Like a moth attracted to a flame, the redhead forgot for a moment about the voice and approached the spot where rays of silver light seemed to form an additional pillar in the chamber. As soon as he was exposed to it, Nagato realised it: there was something different to that light.

For now, this is the gift I have for you. Take it.

Nagato didn't need to ask what to do, for he simply knew how to procceed now. He stretched out his left hand and pointed it to the hole in the ceiling, and the moon far above. Gakidō, he thought, and absorbed the energy. As soon as he did that, the moonlight gained a pale shade of purple to it. His entire body felt no much different from how he'd felt long ago, when he tried to use the Preta Path to take away Naruto's nature energy, and for a moment Nagato feared that he might turn him into a stone frog. But nothing happened.

Whoever was speaking to him before, it remained silent now. After a few seconds, the moonlight returned to normal. Nagato felt his palm scratch. When he looked at it, he immediately noticed something was different with his hand. On its center, a dark-coloured tattoo in the shape of a crescent moon was now seen. What did it mean?

Powerful as they may be, your eyes are yet to open, Nagato. You've done well so far, and I trust you will do the same. But the Moon is only the beginning of your journey. Learn how to use it... gain their trust, earn the other half. Then come back to me. The answers shall be given in time. For now, I bid you farewell.

"No, wait!"

But the voice was not there anymore. In an instant, all the life that filled those old stone walls vanished. They were just the bones of an old castle built long ago. As he prepared to leave, however, the redhead noticed something odd with the ceiling. Shining like stars, ten light spheres floated above his head. One of them was different: it was brighter and golden in colour, in contrast with the nine silver stars. Now that he examined it better, Nagato quickly noticed the shape carved into the stone was actually familiar to him.

Reaching for his bag, the ninja quickly took out the old map given to him by Porlyusica.

"That is it!"

What a bad time to not have a pen!

As he prepared to walk deeper into the ruins in hope of finding new information, a powerful energy wave brought the red haired man down to his knees. Earth shook and trembled like crazy. Deciding it would be better to leave for now and come back later, the bearer of the Rinnegan quickly ran into the hallways and started to make his way through the ruins. Too bad, he didn't remember how'd him got in there. As he ran through it, Nagato didn't take long to reach a dead end. By then, the stone was shaking so much above his head it probably would fall and crush him at any moment.

"Shit... Shinra Tensei!" Within a second the stone was not above him anymore, but was instead falling all around as differently sized rocks, blown away by the power of a god, or so Nagato would've described it in the past. Far away in the sky, a giant flying machine slowly approached the now-even-more-ruined ruins. Thanks to his powerful eyes, Nagato was able to pinpoint the old man who stood on the top of the airship, arms crossed over his chest and a black cloak fluttering in the wind.

That power... that feeling... The redhead would have tried to hide, but he knew it was useless since having used Shinra Tensei would be enough for the old man to know he was there. So rather than doing that, the former leader of the Akatsuki decided to just await for the the airship to reach the ground. Two children walked out as soon as its great door opened, followed slowly by the old man at the top. One of them was a blonde boy whose insane expression reminded Nagato of Deidara, and the other one was a purple haired girl whose face was also unfamiliar to him.

"Such a good surprise. Seems the Rinnegan was awaiting for us already." The old man smiled as he said that.

"Who are you? How do you know about my Rinnegan?" Nagato asked, making sure not to let his guard down. He had a bad feeling about that man.

The old man's eye — only one, since the other one was covered by a black eyepatch — was intensely fixed on the Rinnegan. Much like Orochimaru had done when he first met Pain, Hades did not even try to hide his ambition. And much like that time, Nagato was ready to defend himself. "I'm Hades. There is no point in telling you more. Just know that your death shall bring a new age of peace for the mages. Ultear, Zancrow... let's not waste too much time on this."

"Well, Hades... this is not the way to achieve peace. Stop it, I don't w-..." Before he could think what to do, the redhead was forced to move in order to avoid a fire-covered fist that came from his left side. Just after dodging that punch, he crossed his arms just in time to block a kick from the girl. A split second later that small ball of hers was hurled against Nagato's face. Shinra Tensei! Nagato reacted so quickly he didn't even realise it, but the kids most likely did. An unseen force viciously smashed them against stone walls. It was not enough to knock them out, which the former Akatsuki thought to be pretty impressive, but they were too slow to get up.

A red blur quickly crossed the distance and appeared behind Zancrow. Before the boy could blink, a kick sent him flying against Ultear as the girl was trying to stand up. He was trying to avoid using too much of the Rinnegan in that fight, mostly because he didn't want to hurt them. Nagato knew there was no holding back against Hades, the power irradiating from him was no joke, but against children...

"Words cannot describe... how wonderful it is to be in the presence of those eyes. To see them in action is a privilege. And to test it myself... is an honour." Hades's voice broke him off his train of thoughts. "You two, stay back. I'll handle this one myself."

"The Rinnegan..." Both kids immediately retreated. Knowing pretty well how powerful master Hades was, if he was interested in fighting this man probably there wasn't much they could do against him. Their master continued to speak as he stepped forward. Nagato's body tensed up. "The eyes of God. It shall be mine."

"Don't fool yourself." Just like I did. Nagato looked sadly at Hades as he said that. "It may be true that I possess the Rinnegan, but I am no god. It took me a while to realise, but... I know that now."

"Maybe... But I'll be." As he said that, Hades moved both of his arms. White magical chains left his fingertips and went straight towards Nagato — whose body was suddenly surrounded by smoke and replaced by a log. Before the older mage even knew that, a powerful kick to his back sent him flying. Hades' chains sticked to the ground in order to allow the old man to recover, but as he did so a giant smoke cloud spawned an even larger panda just above his head. 'What...'

"Kuchiyose no Jutsu!"

Okay, so just for the sake of saying it; I know some people will assumed this to be some cheesy deity wo has nothing better to do bringing Nagato back to life like in most NarutoxFairy Tail crossovers, but I assure you that is NOT the case. There will be further explanation later on, however if I said anything else I'd be spoiling the story and I want to avoid it.
