A few days Later while sailing
The going Merry was sailing at full speed towards York New. Gon and Killua were having a good time with the crew. They really liked the way Luffy operated the ship, well mostly Gon, Killua thought Luffy was one of the worst captain ever. Overall, they were having a good time with the crew. Gon and Killua started working out with Zoro, Gon was also helping Sanji with the food while Killua liked to stay relaxing at the rooms.
At the moment Gon was chilling at the deck with Usopp, while Killua was playing cards with other members of the crew.
''So Gon, you really want to meet your dad?" Asked Usopp
''oh yes, I really want to meet him and talk.'' Said Gon.
''Good, I also have this dream. My father is a famous pirate and my mom let him go and explore the world. Once I become the great warrior of the sea that I will one day become I am going to talk with him for hours.'' Said Usopp.
''Yeah. I guess you and me aren't so different Usopp.'' Said Gon.
''Mostly because of the nose.'' Said Killua with a smirk.
''What did you say kid?!'' Asked Usopp.
Killua was playing cards nearby with Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Robin. He learned very early that he should never bet against Nami, because the woman is a tremendous cheater.
''I won again. Pass me the chocolate.'' Said Nami winning the game again and the group had to give her stuff.
''oh come! Nobody wins 3 times in a row. What are you doing?" Asked Killua pissed.
''because I am the best cutie.'' Said Nami with a smirk.
''You witch!'' Scream Killua pissed and that got him a bump in the head.
Smack
''Who are you calling witch?!' Asked Nami all pissed.
''Yes Killua, Nami is a navigator not a witch.'' Said Luffy not getting the sarcasm.
''You are more dense than a brick wall.'' Said Killua all cold.
The group started laughing when Sanji came around with tropical drinks and snacks for the whole group.
''Here you go everybody. Tropical smoothies with pineapples and for snacks some pastries with jelly.'' Said Sanji and everybody started to munch.
''Oh thanks Sanji-kun'' Said Nami.
''Yes, your snacks are the best.'' Said Gon.
''We are going to need more since we have two growing boys in here.'' Said Robin.
''Yes, plus Luffy and his boteless pit of a stomach.'' Said Usopp
''What did you said?" Asked Luffy with a face full of pastries.
The crew continue to sail for a couple of hours, that's is until Usopp saw a port from far away. It had a weird flag and he asked Gon and Killua if they were in the right direction.
''Hey, is that the place?" Asked Usopp giving the binocular to Gon.
''Yes, that's the place.'' Said Gon all happy.
''Yep, that's York New.'' Said Killua.
The crew kept getting closer and closer to the city, and they could tell it was huge.
''Wow! Look at the size of that city.'' Said Chopper.
''Can you imagine how many restaurants are there?" Asked Luffy.
''Of course, probably millions.' Said Sanji.
'Not the time for restaurants.'' Said Killua.
''This is about helping Gon.'' Said Robin helping out.
''Sorry, I forgot about that.'' Said Luffy with a smile.
The crew dock their ship on the port and handle a little bit of golden coins from Skypia. It wasn't the currency of the place, but hey it was gold so they could pay.
''Ok, everything docked.'' Said Gon all excited.
''Let's go!' Said Luffy.
As the crew started to walk, they could say only one thing about York New: It was huge. The place was like 3 times the size of Alabasta, and it was more modern than any places that they have been before. Everyone was amazed at the city, while Gon and Killua felt they were showing their new friends a place known worldwide.
''Wow! It's so huge!'' Said Luffy seeing the skyscrapers.
''Even for pirates this is very confusing.'' Said Zoro
''This is so cool.'' Said Chopper.
''I feel like Vivi already.'' Said Nami.
While they were having fun, they were already on the subject of buying the game.
''Do you think we have enough money to buy the game?" Asked Luffy.
''It's not enough, we need to bet on something to make more money.'' Said Killua
''that's a gambler talk but unfortunately it's our only shot.'' Said Nami.
Robin was looking around and found something suspicious: No marines, no wanted posters, no cp agis, nothing of law enforcement by the world government. Something was off about this place.
'There something off, mister Long nose do you see any marines?" Asked Robin.
''You are right Robin. I don't, either this is a good thing or a bad thing. Either way I don't like it.'' Said him.
As they started walking more and more they were observing the people around them. All were busy and barely look at them, it wasn't the time to socialize as they need to gather money. Gon looked up at Nami for advice.
''Nami what we should do? You are the expert here.'' Asked Gon.
''We need to buy a map. I want to look over what could be good areas to earn money.'' Said her.
''OK.'' Said Gon.
''What about getting some off money. Like we usually did as kids?'' Asked Usopp
''Maybe do some chores or deliver packages. That could be an easy money.'' Said Sanji.
''I don't think we are the best group for this.'' Said Robin with a smile.
''i am not going to be buss boy for anyone.'' Said Zoro pissed.
''You sound like a grumpy dog.'' Said Killua with a smirk
''Hey!'' Said Zoro pissed.
''Just a comment.'' Said Killua laughing alongside Sanji.
The group went to as many both of attendance and shore boards. They got as many requests as possible to look over later. Gon would get some ideas of what to do next to get Greed Island, but he need it more time to think.
Later at the Merry.
The group were staying at the merry to save money of hotels and other services. Right now, it was the perfect place to stay.
''Dinner is ready.'' Said Sanji to the crew.
''Alright!'' Said everyone.
Soon everyone started to eat a lot with Luffy ebing the main glutton.
''Man Sanji you really hit the spot.'' Said Luffy.
''Yes, it's even better than how aunt Mito makes it.'' Said Gon eating some Mellon desert.
''Alright dinner is over. Time to get serious.'' Said Zoro.
''We need to think of what we are doing next.'' Said Usopp.
The group took out all the maps that they found and all the requests. It was time to brainstorm the ideas that they could done.
''We should start doing some of the difficult request. Some of these already pay almost 100,000.'' Said Chopper.
''Yes, with Luffy, Zoro and Sanji they are not going to have no trouble.'' Said Usopp.
''i can also help, Killua too.'' Said Gon.
''Depends on what we are doing.'' Said kIllua.
''yes, but first we need to learn how sell things. If I heard right, people who sell are the ones that make the most amount of money.'' Said Nami.
''Man this is easy for me.'' Said Usopp with a smirk.
''big liar ein Pinocchio?" Asked Killua.
''Shut up you brat!'' Said Usopp.
''Can we steal some things? Might help out.'' Said Zoro
''Stealing might be an option, but we need to know who has enough money.'' Said Nami. Everyone was thinking who might have money in the city, that's when Killua pretty much just said.
''The mafia.'' Said Killua much to everyone surprise but that made sense.
''Yes, the mafia has a lot of money. If we go there and steal from them we will have enough money to buy the game and even some others things. I think that's pretty good.'' Said Luffy.
''This sound like a stupid plan. The mafia around here must be 10 times more tough than crocodile group. By the way Robin, do you know any mafia family around here?" Asked Nami
''No, I never heard of the mafias of this area. I never had business here so I don't know.'' Said Robin.
''Can you at least use your mafia head to get us into some places?" Asked Luffy.
''Well I thought I was never going to use this part of my brain, but if it is for a good cause I am ok.'' Said Robin with a smile much to luffy happiness.
''Great, so Robin will talk with these mafia people to give us money.'' Said Luffy.
''Whatever you do please do the talk. Not him.'' Said Killua in a whisper.
''Yes, I understand.'' Said Robin with a smile.
The next morning
At a cybercafe
Gon had paid with his hunter license for all the pirates plus Killua to use a computer. Each one would try to get money and try to earn more and more.
''Gon, are you sure this isn't going to be a big burden in your pocket? I mean you still need money.'' Asked Usopp.
''I know, but if we use for at least 2 hours I am good. You guys can pay me later.'' Said Gon
''Right, do you accept gold?'' Asked Luffy all casual.
''Well I never imagined that but I guess so.'' Said Gon with a sweat drop.
''Whatever we find here I am not trusting.'' Said Zoro clicking on various auction websites.
''York New is full of liars. We need to be cautious or we will lose our money.'' Said Killua.
''But we still can do the requests.'' Said Chopper.
''We can but that is going to take time. We already have the information on the game, but we still have some months until the auction. We need to take advantage of every day we have.'' Said Killua.
''Maybe the girls are getting more money. Who knows what they are going to do.'' Said Usopp
In the girl's side
Nami and Robin were on a bargain fair. They had some gold coins to use to buy some items and later sell for a bigger price. Nami was looking around and trying to find the perfect object to buy and make an offer.
''Nami are you ok?" Asked Robin.
''I feel challenged. Back at the East Blue, I was one of the best cat burglars out there now I am on the city full of big shot liars. Time to release my claws again.'' Said Nami with a smile while Robin laugh
Back with the boys.
''So we just need to click on these boxes and look for chats of people that want to buy our products?' Asked Luffy.
''Yes, this is how the internet work.'' Said Killua.
''Look I see a website that has hunter only. I will try to find something.'' Said Gon.
''Good, we will try to get some money.'' Said Usopp.
Soon Gon and the others went to ways to win money in York New and the results were not that good.
A few minutes later.
The group was having a hassle in getting money. People either try to scam them or almost clone their credits. One point Zoro almost cut the computer in half so they need to think of another point of view.
Gon and Killua using their knowledge of Greed Island back from whale Island were doing what they could to talk their way in chat rooms to save enough money, however that wasn't going so well.
''Killua this is getting hard.'' Said Gon nervous.
''Yes, I forgot how hard it was this thing.'' Said Killua.
The group went around various websites, offer deals until Zoro while wondering around found something.
''Hey what is this?" Asked him and the others went to see his screen.
''Wow look at this.'' Said Usopp looking at the announcement.
''UNDERGROUND AUCTION AND WORK. WIN THOUSANDS IN JUST ONE NIGHT!"'
''It looks like an advertisement for the underground world. They dominate York New and probably have countless offer for super dangerous jobs.'' Said Killua. He remember those from the talk of his family, but he wasn't ready yet to do these. The Straw Hats however were excited.
''I wonder if they have strong people to fight.'' Said Luffy.
''Or what kind swordman are there.'' Said Zoro.
''I wanna shop there. See if those assholes have good ingredients.'' Said Sanji.
''Good money here we come.'' Said Usopp.
''Here say it's only going to start in a couple of days. Better hold your horses' guys.'' Said Killua.
The group set up a date to go into the underground world and meet up to get some money. Gon and Killua would try the online method, while Luffy, Zoro and Sanji will try to earn money in the underground fights. So right now they need to sell some stuff.
''So you guys have any idea what to sell right now?" Asked Usopp
''Well I got this vase, a woman is telling me we can win three times what we bought in this website.'' Said Gon.
''I don't know about this.'' Said Zoro.
''Well duh, this is the world of online market. We need to take risk.'' Said Killua.
''So what we are we waiting for? Sell it.'' Said Luffy.
As the boys started to the fair and share on the online world, they were going to see what kind quests they could do to gather money. Gon and Killua knew that the meeting with Kurapika and Leorio were in a few weeks, so they had time. While Luffy, Zoro and Sanji were going to try find the entrance for the underground world and make some money. This race for Greed Island was on.
So yes, new chapter. Sorry for the massive delay. Sometimes you forget. I have to say that some people are confused on what direction this story is in. First of all, they are on another world, it's going to be revealed later but the straws hats are still pretty confused. They just were off from Skypia, they saw that berries are not the only form of payment in the world. Gon and Killua are on the chapter 70 of the manga in this situation, they are looking to see what they could get online and later see what they could do.
This was really fun to write. I might update this one more often. Well see you all next time.
