Chapter 4

11:15pm PST

Regina feels as if she's been in this car for ages. She had take to listening to the radio on her phone because her sister took the keys with her. This is almost worse than the plane ride. Her legs are starting to cramp up, the car is keeping in too much heat, and her phone is dying. Zelena better be out soon or she's gonna… gonna what? She can't leave. She has no keys. And she couldn't just March into the club and the man to see her sister. She could always sneak around back and see if a door was open. No. That's ridiculous.

"As we're rolling up on the midnight hour, get ready for 55 minutes of your favorite music. And for those of you who haven't won anything from us recently, stay tuned."

Wait what? That couldn't be right.

Regina checks the clock on her phone. Sure enough, it's 11:17 p.m.. This is ridiculous. She should be in bed sleeping, but no. She stuck in their Granny's car in the middle of the night waiting for her sister and cousin to come outside the stupid party. They probably forgot she was even out here.

That's it. She's going in.

Regina hops out of the car with her bag and start he slams it shut. She stomps all the way to the front of the building. There were too many people in line to even think about getting in. She really is gonna have to use the side entrance. Regina growls and continued her stomping. She slows only to take a moment to calm down enough to read the signs. "Stage entrance" reads the door. Regina makes her way toward the door.

The only thing Regina this conscious of and the next moment is pain. The sharp, piercing sting pulses from her head where she's been struck through the radius of her skull. It made her eyes hurt. They swell with tears, but she refuses to let them fall. Her vision was blurry enough as it is. She wishes for nothing more then for the world to stop spinning.

As soon as her vision clears, Regina looks up to identify her assaulter. She holds her hand to her head. It's not bleeding. Small mercies.

"Did I just hit you?" Her assaulter asks. He sounds worried enough. Good for him. He crouches as if to help her up, but doesn't.

"No, the door just hit me by itself." Regina surprises herself at how sarcastic cast she can sound with the world tilted on its axis.

"Oh that's not good." The teen? He looks to be teen aged. The teen looks to the sky as if it would have the magic answer to get him out of this mess.

"For you or for me because right now it feels a lot worse for me."

He doesn't even look at her while she's talking. He keeps looking over his shoulder and down the alley like he's on the run. "This is really not good."

Why does he look so familiar? Regina must have hate her head harder than she thought because she swears he looks just like the popstar her sister is so obsessed with. Wait, it couldn't be. It isn't that far fetched her sister did come here to meet him. "You're rob-"

Robin quickly covers her mouth. He holds his securely with one hand behind her head. "I'll give you front row tickets to my next concert if you don't scream my name."

Regina weakly shoves him away. "I don't want to see your stupid concert. Ow." The movement causes the throbbing in her head to intensify. Ugh. She really isn't feeling good.

"OK. OK. I really need to get you to a doctor." Robin looks up when a bright light suddenly appears to his right. Regina doesn't dare look to see what it is. Her head hurts enough already. "Come on, get up." Robin begins pulling her up into a standing position. It only makes her stomach roll. Regina tries her hardest to flight the nausea. There's just too much going on. "There we go. Come on. Just the wee bit faster." Robin begins guiding her to a fancy convertible car.

"What about Zelena?" Regina manages to get out.

"Who's Zelena?"

"My sister.. she's.. in the club."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Two other guys step out of the car. One is large in both width and height. The other is approximately Robins size maybe smaller. This all feels really bad. Regina wishes she had enough energy to fight them all. But should they try to kill her, they'd most likely succeed. "What happened?"

"Bloody ell" The other gasps.

"Help now. Questions later." Robin waves them off.

"Okay." The both agree too easily.

"Just get her in the car."

Regina tries to push against him. She really does, but it seems that her body once again betrays her. She's going to end up like those girls from the serial killer crime shows. Should she survive no one's gonna believe her over some Mega famous popstar.

The guys guide her into the back seat of the car and onto plush, leather seats. The soft breeze that comes into the car is nice, but not enough to calm her body that believes it's a Volcano. She feels how the lava boils dangerously underneath the surface. Nothing she does quells this feeling. It remains intense and continues to grow.

"Who is this? The big one asks.

"Seatbelt." Robin says as he climbs into the front seat. He stops and turns to her. "What is your name?"

"Regina."

She smiles softly. At least she remembers her name. That's a good sign right? If she is going to die by the hands of these young men they should at least know her name.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Regina." Robin smiles.

I can think of nicer ways. Would you not only realized that she spoke aloud when the 3 pairs of eyes stare back at her oddly.

As her luck would have it camo or the lack thereof, the Volcano that is now her body erupts. "I don't feel too good."

"Not in the car!" The smaller one still holding her door open yells.

"Kay" is all she can manage before leaning out of the car and releasing the storm within. It is honestly a relief. True, Regina still feels like shit, but she feels lighter somehow.

"Aw no! These are my favorite shoes!"

Regina blinks. She threw up on him. That's embarrassing. Regina writes herself for the seat. At least this time she doesn't feel as if she's about to fall off the Earth. Improvements.

She starters one laughter comes from the seat beside her. The big one, she never learned his name, is buckled up beside her and pointing his phone towards his friend. Had he recorded that? Could this night get any worse?

"I'll get you new shoes. Just hurry up and get in the car already." Robin orders.

The little one into the front seat. The moment his seatbelt is on, they pull off.

11:37pm PST

You're a real bloody cock up for this one Rob. He's about two seconds from his career going into shambles. It's as if the universe isn't on his side. They were do close. So close to this night going off without a hitch. There's only one place Robin knew to drive in a situation like this. Chester Medical center. Will's brother in law works there. Robin knew he could trust him to be discreet. If something like this were to get leaked to the press, not only would he and his mates loose their change to be taken seriously in the industry, but loose the reputation they already had. His life would be over.

If only Robin could get them to the hospital without getting stopped by the cops for speeding. He's sure he's breaking a number of laws. He feels a bit of relief when he pulls into the parking lot of the hospital.

Bloody hell. Robin can't quite remember how to breathe. The girl, Regina is here name, is slumped with her eyes closed in his backseat. Be rational Robin. She's probably just fainted or really tired. There is no way he killed her. He knows he needs to be rational, but the way her body droops truly takes the appearance of a dead person.

"John. Tell me she isn't dead." Robin's voice is barely a whisper.

Little John looks to his side and let's out the most ridiculous scream. Robin would have laughed under different circumstances.

"Well. Go on mate.. Check her." Will encourages. Robin can see the same fear mirrored in his eyes. All of them giving off a false sense of confidence. How could they explain a dead girl in their possession? Will already called his brother-in-law moments before. He knew the expect them. He'd help to keep an injury under wraps, but a murder? No. It isn't a murder he didn't kill her. It was an accident. How could this happen to them? To him? Robin is the worst friend. Will and John are innocent, but he had to go and drag them into this mess. He would have to spend the rest of his life knowing he killed someone.

John slowly reaches for her wrist. He moves at an agonizingly slow pace. Yet Robin can't find it in him to rush him. Does he even want to know? Maybe it is better not knowing. No. That's not an option. They have to know. The movement of John lifting her arm causes Regina to groan in discomfort. Everything moves quickly at that point. They're all out of the car and carrying her in to the emergency room. If she's still alive that means there is a chance she can still be saved.

Robin is aware enough to take notice of his surroundings. No one else is in the waiting room. He sends a quick thank you to every higher he knows. Dr. Victor Whale, Will's brother-in-law, is there to meet once they enter.

"What the hell have you gotten yourselves into now?" The doctor gasps. He guides them into a private section with curtained wall where they can set Regina down. The three teens speak over one another to explain the situation.

She's conscious at this point. Confused as hell, but conscious. That has to be something right? Regina is glaring at him from where she's seated on the table. Good. So her memory is still intack. Robin, John, and Will watch with their backs close to the wall as Whale examines her. Not even hours ago they thought her dead. Now here she is. Alive. Awake. And glaring at them. She's like a ghost that hunts them, waiting for the prime opportunity to strike when they least expected. For that reason none of the can pull their eyes away from her.

The three of them let out a collective sigh when Whale guides her from their little corner to run some test.

"What do you think she's going to tell him?" John wonders aloud.

"The truth!" Will practically yells. "We haven't done anything wrong." He gestures wildly. It seems Robin isn't the only one working to calm his adrenaline. Though he's fairing better than Will.

"She could easily make up a story that could send all of us to the slammer. We're at her mercy."

"No, she's at our mercy. Whose going to believe her? It's three against one."

"Keep your voice down, will you." Robin shushes. "We aren't the only ones in the hospital." Though they are far from other E.R. patients, he could still hear them and the nurses and doctors moving about. Which means in return they could be heard as well.

A moment later Whale returns with Regina. He helps her back on the examination table. Regina looks at him briefly before she is forced to look away when Whale flashes a light in her eyes. Robin had noticed before, not that he had the time to with all the chaos, but Regina is a beautiful girl. You know when she not throwing up, glaring at him, or appearing dead in the backseat of his car.

"Well, I've done a thorough exam and you CT scans came back normal. Everything looks good." Whale announces.

"So, she's ok?" Robin asks for clarification.

"You three are not here remember? Be quiet." Victor brings attention back to his patient. "There is no sign of head trauma and I am certain you don't have a concussion."

Regina doesn't look certain. "Then why did I throw up?"

"It could a number of reasons. It could have been something you ate, a reaction from meeting that idiot," The doctor points to him.

"Hey!" Robin's outburst is completely ignored.

"or it could be that your body is exhausted and you need rest. You've been through a lot tonight. You're lucky their ugly arses pulled together enough brain cells to bring you to the hospital."

"Oi Victor! We're standing right here."

Regina frowns. "Two know each other?" Robin knows what she's thinking. And he would never falsify someone's medical exam. He doesn't need a lawsuit; he just needs someone he can trust.

"He's my sister's husband." Will confesses. "What she sees him; I still don't know."

Robin takes a step towards Regina for the first time since arriving. He wants to come off genuine, which he is, but he also can't risk her panicking and causing a scene. "Regina, Victor is an honest man, making an honest living. He wouldn't lie you. The only reason we chose him is because we trust him and he's discreet." She makes a face at that. Maybe he should have kept that last part to himself.

"So I can go now?" She turns to Whale and asks impatiently.

"Yes, but I want you to put an ice pack on that bump until you get home. And just in case a have someone monitor you for any irregularities and wake I love every few hours to make sure you are responsive. If you should have any issues at all, come to me. I'll be right back."

"Okay."

The doctor leaves them.

She looks irritated. And she has every right to be. There's an uncomfortable silence that passes through their room. Robin stands awkwardly in the middle of the space looking at her. He feels like he should say something. Anything, but can't figure out a single thing to say. Regina is looking at him expectantly. What does she want? He should be saying something should in he?

"Are you gonna answer that?" She asks.

His phone is ringing. That's why she was looking at him strangely. Robin hurriedly removes his phone from his back pocket and checks use calling. His mother.

"Hello, mum? What? Who?" His mother was speaking so fast barely understands her. She must have moved. The chatter in the background of his mother's call quiets slightly. Her next words come out clear as day.

"Robert Gold."

Robin freezes. "Where?" In his gut he already knows the answer. He's dreading to hear the words.

"He's here. At the party."

"Now?" Robin is calculating already how fast he can get from the hospital to his house.

"Yes! Right now!" Claire snaps into the phone. He could tell she is trying to keep her voice down. Was he nearby? "We thought he wasn't coming. He just showed up here with your biggest fans. Look, you promised him you were going to stay home this week. It's up to you to fix this were, Robin."

She is right. He knew she was right. He has to fix this. He can fix this. This night can still be saved, he just has to hurry. "OK. Just stall them. I'll be right there." His mom hangs up before he can say good bye.

"That might be a problem." Whale says as he steps back into makeshift room with an ice pack in hand.

"Why?"

"My waiting Room is filled with big guys with big cameras."

"You.. The paparazzi found me?" Robin looks to little John and Will, who seemed to finally have managed to find their way from the corner. They look just as panicked as he feels. Robin rubs his face. This night is a complete nightmare. He can't catch a break. He paces a bit before turning back to the doctor. "OK. Whale, what kind of car are you driving?"

"Nothing you'd be interested in. I'm still paying off six years of medical school."

"Perfect. How about a trade?"

"No!"

Robin waves the keys to his fancy car in his face, hoping to tempt him. "Only happens once." Seeing the glint in his eyes, Robin knew he had him.

"Okay."

12:17am PST

The doctor's car is a nightmare, if it can even be called that. It took Robin a few tries to even get it started. The car jerks and sputters. The amount of smoke coming from the back is concerning. Regina tries not to focus on it too much. She is finally getting home. She's grateful to be sitting in the passengers seat and not in the back again. Regina's kind of surprised that the big one fits in the tiny car at all, little John they called him. There is nothing little about the teen. He looks to have had too many portions at the buffet. She feels a little bad for the other friend. He doesn't seem anymore comfortable than his big friend back there.

Regina let's out a scream when the car backfires. "Are you sure this is safe?" She shouts over the engine.

"I'm pretty sure." Robin replies with much less confidence she wants from the person driving the broken car. As to prove her point, the car backfires again.

"I'm pretty sure it's not." She presses the ice pack more firmly into her head. She feels sick again. If this old car and it's toxic fumes don't kill her, Robin's driving will.

"Just stay calm alright."

"I don't want to stay calm. I want to go home." Regina wacks Robin in the arm with her ice pack. It feels a little good to cause him some pain in return. She knows she's being bratty, but could you blame her. She's having a rough night. She woke up feeling like crap in a hospital with four strangers staring at her. She's never had fond memories of hospitals to being with. There's nothing more she wants to do than crawl in bed and sleep this entire ordeal away.

"What is your problem?" Robin snaps.

"What's my problem? Oh, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the massive bump on my head or how I've been kidnapped by an obnoxious teen an his friends or how I'll be grounded til the age of thirty!"

"Is that why your so crabby?"

"I am not crabby. Thief." If anyone is crabby it's him. And since when is Robin Hood British? She can't remember that ever coming up with her sister, not that paid much attention to her. Still she doesn't see the appeal. He's irritating.

"Sorry to interrupt mum and dad," John speaks up from the back. "but I was wondering if you could drive a wee bit faster. I need the loo."

"I'm no one's mum." Regina replies darkly.

"Oh, not crabby. Defensive." Robin mumbles under his breath. John sighs dejectedly. He must realize that neither of them care. He can hold it. He's a big boy.

"I'm not defensive."

"See!" He shouts as if that explains anything. "You disagree with everything I say."

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Just take me home!" Regina sighs into her seat and places her ice pack back to her forehead.

Robin quiets as well. "I will. Just after we make one teeny tiny little stop."
