Author's Note: This chapter is meant to change the flow of the story. I am introducing more mysteries about Kagome Higurashi. I repeat myself; I am not posting the pairing until it is revealed in the story. So if you do not like that, I politely ask you to turn around and leave now because I don't see the point in you wasting your time and mine.

"So, that's the story. Any of you upset or harm Kagome, you all have the whole of Division Eleven after you."

Silence met those words as several pairs of eyes turned to look at the petite, blue-eyed, Raven-haired girl. Who looked incredibly embarrassed and angry at the same time. However, each person was having a hard time believing that she was a legitimate Eleventh Division member. Under the battle obsessed Kenpachi.

"Uh... Are you really in squad eleven?"

"Yes, sir."

The simple reply had them all looking back to Ikkaku and Yumichika. Both seemed very smug.

"You all know there is a way to prove this, right?"

Slowly, as one, all eyes shifted to the speaker, Kisuke Urahara, whose shop they all were occupying currently.

"That's actually a good idea."

"Ikkaku, Kagome's supposed to be on vacation. Resting, per orders of the Captain Commander himself."

"Yumi-chan, it's okay. I do need to work off some stress. And he's apparently offering to help. So, yes, please, Mr. Urahara-san."

The sweet tone Kagome had used had all of them smothering the need to shiver. With a superstitious peek at Yumichika and Ikkaku, they noted the latter seemed a bit paler than before.

"Follow me then!"

Disbelief appeared on almost everyone's face. The battle taking place before them was being done without gigai's and still going full tilt after an hour. And the way the two combatants were smiling and trading barbed comments(insults) was unnatural. Especially since the tiny girl Zanpaku-to had two forms, one of which was almost as tall as herself. Reminding everyone of Ichigo's original Zankpaku-to, just in white.

"She really is a member of the Eleventh Division. Very interesting. Now, why is she really here on vacation, Yumichika?"

The sudden heavy tension that laid across the group was telling.

"Back in November, a large number of hollows appeared. Something happened, and it deeply affected Kagome. She was unconscious for a long time. After she woke up, she agreed to be interrogated by Central 46. I don't know the specifics, but it caused her to bleed from her ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. Captain Zaraki kept her in his office and personal quarters afterward. He was even ruthless to the Captain Commander while she was convalescing. Thus, the Captain Commander ordered her on vacation to the human world."

"There is no way Kenpachi would be overprotective of her. She isn't Yachiru unless he hit puberty and finds Kagome desirable."

As the last sentence was spoken echoing in the now quiet air, a new kind of pressure slammed down around the group.

Her mock battle with Ikkaku had finished just in time to hear what was being said. And Kagome was less than pleased as horror filled her before rapidly changing into pure rage as her Reiki swelled. Marching to the group, ignoring Ikkaku's dark muttering. Kagome only stopped when she stood before the tall, red-haired idiot.

Reaching up, Kagome grasped a fist full of his white button-up shirt and jerked him down to her eye level. Enjoying the way his brown eyes went wide as the sound of everyone else moved away from them, wisely so.

Look here, you walking dipstick. My Captain has a lot of faults, like being a voyeur. And if you have beef with him, you take it to him. But do not eve, and I mean this, don't ever say he doesn't care about any of us under him. Never bring up Yachiru, either. She went missing after the war a few years back."

Kagome let go of him with a slight push, reinforced by her Reiki, sending him stumbling back. Then turning her gaze to the others, Kagome read their auras, seeing they got the message loud and clear. Giving a nod of her head, Kagome focused on the man who would be taking care of her and suddenly got a creepy pervert vibe from him. She chalked it up to the way his gray eyes seemed to sparkle from under both his hat and hair.

"So, again, I am Higurashi, Kagome, unseated of the Eleventh Division, under Captain Zaraki Kenpachi. Please take care of me."

Then with a small flourish, Kagome bowed at the waist politely.

It had only been a week since she had fully recovered and been sent to Karakura Town in the human world. And Kenpachi was getting agitated. No one in the Eleventh Division (san Ikkaku) could spar on semi-equal terms. But it (he was sure) had to do with the lack of entertainment and good food. The damn, mouthy midget had definitely kept him amused. Hell, he had been forced to agree because he understood Kagome was a person of interest and targeted by the Central 46. As well as a few of the other Captains, like Mayuri.

Sighing and shifting his body, so he was laying on his side, head propped up by his arm, Kenpachi growled. Then again, he requested to go to the human world. But it was immediately denied; the reason (excuse) was they didn't want him fighting Ichigo and causing damage. This situation had led to Yumichika offering to go and check on Kagome. Anything was better than nothing until she came back. For which he'd pound her through the floor again for fun.

You think the Captain will last the duration of her being gone, Lieutenant?"

Ikkaku looked over at the dejected squad member. He understood what was not being said. They all missed the joy and light Kagome brought and (mostly) the food.

"I don't know. But I think Kagome won't last a month there before trying to kill either Kurosaki or Urahara."

The shock on the man's face was priceless. No one was surprised she had lost her temper or that it had been Kurosaki that had ended up swallowing his damn foot. But they still had no clue Kagome wasn't always so sweet. She had a fierce protective streak and it even made him falter when it reared its head. Yet, it showed that Kagome saw them as her family. Since to them all in the Eleventh Division, she was their little sister.
