Lucy stood there doing her best to suppress the shaking of her body. She wasn't cold. Nore was she sad. No, Lucy was righteously pissed off, and it wasn't polite to show her anger. Not when she was the only daughter of an influential person. But everybody had their limits, and she was reaching hers.

It had been a few weeks since attending that stuffy party. Said party brought her into the social limelight, or to use a more out-dated term, was Lucy's debutante ball. Thus the source of her anger. But Lucy knew this game as several sets of eyes looked at her with barely concealed contempt. The contempt was petty and unfounded. Lucy didn't want to be the center of attention. To be sought and lusted after.

Slowly, Lucy lowered her eyelids and forced a gentle, polite smile onto her lips. A mask she had perfected as a child, for she was the daughter of a true Nobleman, from a long line of pure Russian Nobility. Sending a silent thanks to her father for making her learn to disassociate and compartmentalize. Giving a soft, lilting (obvious to a trained person) laugh, enjoying the tensing of those vapid, shallow girls surrounding her. They had no idea how to play this game, and Lucy would win.

"It's fine. Really, I don't mind," Lucy said, keeping her voice exceptionally neutral. "You all only meant the best, as my new friends, by entering me into the school's talent competition. Which I am sure you all will be participating in as well."

It sickened Lucy to act like this. But she knew it was the petty jealousy for attracting the eyes of several of the more desirable bachelors. Or rather ignorant, horny boys who had money. A thing, no matter where you were in the world, that never changed. Personally, Lucy just wanted to be left alone. Rejecting each of the Sakamaki was both a challenge (to the boys) adn insult to the girls who were pretending to be her friends.

"Oh, yes, we will all be entering as well, Lucy-san."

"Yeah, of course, it'd not be fair otherwise."

"Please, Lucy, I thought we were friends. Don't think we'd enter you as a joke."

As the last girl finished, Lucy felt her smile grow wider. Turning her head to look at them all, eyes widening in mock shock and horror, Lucy let herself speak in a purr-like tone as she stood up. Easily towering over the now apparent right leader, Circe D'Lucha.

"Whatever gave you the impression I thought it was a joke, Miss D'Lucha? And I do hope to see all three of your names when I submit my act for the talent show."

Giving a small wave of her hand, Lucy turned and made her way from the cafeteria. Already her mind was sorting through the list of talents she had been made to cultivate to appease her father. Only for her eyes to look up towards the stars through a window, causing the voices to respond in the back of her mind. It was the perfect idea and a chance to do something her father detested.

Shu fumed silently as he watched Lucy turn down another idiot human boy. Since that party, he had cursed himself. Because now his brothers were chasing Lucy. Who didn't realize that by refusing their advances, she invited chase from a natural-born predator. It was one thing with Reiji since Shu could cow him if need be. But all six (including Kino) were another, especially if they teamed up against him.

His head tilted to the side as Lucy made eye contact with him. Shu had taken to heart what she had said, and it was very hard to give her space. But one thing Shu had was patience. So, breaking eye contact deliberately, he looked out the classroom window at the stars. It was partially cloudy, but still, quite a few stars and the constellations they belonged to were visible.

And like always, his gaze drifted to Andromeda and Perseus. Taking in the twinkle of both constellations, Alpha stars. Leaving him with the feeling of nostalgia and want so bad it left him often irritable.

Deciding to think on a different topic, Shu recalled what he had seen and overheard at lunch. Lucy had shocked him (and, unfortunately) his brothers. It was no secret almost every female in school was either jealous (Or hated) Lucy. In fact, his brothers realished and preened over the fact. They thought it might make Lucy turn to them for protection. Nope. And after how she had expertly deflected the worst trio in the school, Shu was sure he'd be hearing about it tonight at home.

Shu was well aware of Lucy being an actual Noblewoman. And her training as such showed today. His desire for her grew more since he already knew she was kind, compassionate, smart, and talented. Now though, Lucy had shown a sense of regality, mixed with a cold ruthlessness even his mother or his father's other wives had when needed.

Lucy, though, hadn't stated what she would be doing for the talent competition. He hoped she'd play the piano. Then again, that would be bad as he didn't want to share her talent or how ethereal she looked while playing with others.
