Chapter 6

In the Open

Ruby gasped at Yang's accusation, turning to Qrow who hung his head in shame as he replied "it didn't go like that, not exactly. Oz told Summer about Salem, and gave her some info, then she went off on her own"

Yang's eyes burned with even more hatred as she said "so he might as well have sent her!"

Ruby's silver eyes watered as she ran off bawling, Qrow tried to follow after her, only for Yang to punch him in the face and demand "how could you keep that from us!?"

Qrow rubbed his sore cheek and replied "I….I couldn't bear to tell you two the truth, If you knew she ran off and never came back….you'd go after her like you did with Raven…"

Yang shook her head, Qrow was referencing when she was 8 years old. Her rage subsided only for a moment before swelling again as she questioned "ok, fair enough, but were you ever planning on telling us?"

Qrow gave a defeated look and walked away, there was nothing he could say to defend himself. He walked around a corner, only for Yang to follow him and see a small, black crow on the sidewalk preparing to fly away.

"Mom told me about that too by the way!" Yang shouted at the bird.

The crow gave her a sad look before flying off.

Blake and Weiss were too stunned to even say anything as Yang walked past them, heading for where her sister ran to.

Team RWBY's reunion was the least of her concern…

Jaune was waiting impatiently and shuffling in place as Charlie arrived holding in the training room with Crocea Mors, reforged with a special battery built into the sheath.

As Jaune took his family heirloom back, Charlie said "did my best to keep it original"

Jaune pulled out the blade and extended the shield. The only difference was that the Shield had a glowing box in the middle and the Blade's edges were black instead of gold.

Charlie then pointed at the grip and said "that button turns the high frequency tech on and off. The shield charges it and you can also press a button there to make the shield high frequency as well. You can cut through anything and nearly anything will break on the shield"

"Thank you so much!" Jaune replied.

The Shifter nodded but wanted "this blade is very dangerous, you aura won't hold up to it for more than a hit or two. So you and I are gonna train together, since my sword can match it!"

Jaune looked at the blade in determination and drew it.

Charlie pulled out his sword, Murasama's crimson blade added to it's intimidation. He pressed the button once and a slow metal humm emanated from the blade.

"Level 1, de-stabilizes normal metal upon a few swings, stronger than a normal blade but not by much" Charlie began.

Jaune pressed the button on his blade once and it emenated the same sound.

"I'll swing slowly at first and then we'll go to level 2 and 3, getting faster each time"

Jaune met the blows, the blades giving off small sparks.

"Keep those 4 positions in mind, now to level 2, destabilizes most metals in a single slash and cuts though non-metals like butter" Charlie continued as he pressed his button again and the blade's humm grew slightly louder.

Jaune and Challie met each other's slashes slightly faster, the both turned their swords up to level 3, the blades were now humming with a fast, metallic screech that was only now loud enough to be heard within 5 feet. Sparks of energy were arcing around the blades.

"Level three is the most powerful and dangerous. Unlike the first two which destabilize the molecular bonds upon slashing, level 3 could destabilize metal just by touching it and reduces normal types of metal to a liquid state with a single slash. It can also cut through solid stone at this point" Charlie finished. Level 3 was so powerful that it disregarded aura completely as well.

The two traded blows for the next few hours, by the time of Haven's summer break in a week, Jaune would be in top form.

"Adam, for the last time, the White Fang will not attack Haven Acadamy" High Leader Kahn ordered.

"High Leader Khan, I am begging you" Adam pleaded as he was kneeling on the steps where the leader of the White Fang was sitting.

Sienna Kahn was a female, Bengal tiger-Faunus with amber eyes, dark complexion and wild black, chin-length hair with an asymmetrical bob style. Her Faunus trait manifested as an extra pair of ears, and her body was adorned with numerous tattoos resembling tiger wore four golden earrings on three of her ears, one each on her Human ears, and two on her left Faunus ear as well as a small jewel on her forehead.

She was wearing a form-fitting dark gray sleeveless top with white trim, the top has a large diamond cut out of the back exposing most of her back accompanied by a smaller diamond-shaped cutout just above her breasts. A long gray skirt with white accents that shaped inwards towards her calves allowing them to be partially revealed them and her over the knee black stockings with golden trim. Over the dress, she wore a back-revealing long red cape that was clasped by golden accessories at the top of her small diamond cutout, as well as a gray waist cincher with red trim that had a black golden buckled belt over it, which fastened a gray pouch on her right hip. Aside from that, she wore a pair of light gray wedge sandals that had red laces which were tied to her calves

"You should beg for forgiveness and nothing else! The assault you led on Beacon was not the great victory you clearly think it was, and you should be more grateful your punishment was not more severe. You are a symbol for many in our organization, but that doesn't make you infallible" Sienna warned

Adam bowed his head and rubbed the zipper on his right arm as he said"I merely trying to follow your example, High Leader.

Sienna gave a curious look and asked "And what example might that be?"

"Strength. Strength and unwavering conviction. The humans have seen that strength now" Adam explained.

"I was one of the first to suggest violence where violence was necessary. Peace bred complacency and acceptance of our place in the world. I will not allow humanity to push us down without pushing them back. But the destruction of the Huntsman Academies crosses a line! The loss of the CCT has brought global communication to a crawl! And the White Fang is more of a target now than ever before! You have justified humanity's campaign against us, and for what?! Empty promises from a group of humans? Humans we still know nothing about, and come and go as they please! These are not examples of strength, Adam. They are examples of your talents being diminished by shortsightedness!" Sienna scolded.

Adam stood up and said "If you want to know more about the humans, then why not talk to one of them yourself? Hazel!"

Hazel Rainart opened the massive double doors and muttered "Took you long enough"

As Hazel entered Sienna rose from her seat and her guards all pointed their spears toward Hazel.

Sienna was scowling as she questioned, "What is this?!"

"Apologies. I don't aim to cause any trouble" Hazel assured in a sincere voice.

Sienna looked even angrier as she questioned "You've brought a human to this location?"

"You should hear what he has to say" Adam explained

"This is grounds for execution!" Sienna shouted.

Hazel kneeled respectfully and replied "Ma'am, please. Nobody needs to die today. I'm just asking for a moment of your time."

"The longer you stay here, the less of a chance you have of leaving alive" Sienna warned.

Hazel nodded and said, "I'll take those chances if you don't mind."

Sienna sat back down, her guards returned to their neutral position and Hazel rose again before continuing to speak.

"You don't like me. You have no reason to like me. But you don't have to like me to get the results you want." Hazel assured her.

Sienna shook her head and answered "I'm starting to doubt either of you fully comprehend what it is that I want. I want humanity to fear the Faunus, to know that we demand respect! I do not want to start a war with the humans that we cannot win!"

Adam cut in with "That's where you're wrong"

Sienna and Hazel focused on Adam who began to advance towards the throne's steps while continuing to speak.

"We can win a war against the humans. Not only because we have the support of Hazel's master, but because the Faunus are the dominant species of this planet. We're better than humans. We have everything humans have and more. Humans shouldn't just fear the Faunus, they should serve the Faunus" Adam finished.

"I've had enough of this conversation for tonight. Guards, take them away" Sienna ordered, but her guards remain stationary.

Sienna repeated her order with "I said, take them away!"

Adam smirked and said "I will admit, Sienna, you were right about my popularity. My followers in Vale already see me as the true High Leader. And many here in Mistral feel the same."

Four armed White Fang soldiers entered through the main doors and stopped, pointing their weapons into the room as Sienna rose to her feet.

Hazel clearly wasn't in on the plan and asked "What are you doing?"

"What's right for the Faunus. From this day forward, I will be the one to lead the White Fang" Adam said proudly.

Four more soldiers revealed themselves with their weapons drawn, two on each side of the room, as Sienna's guards pointed their weapons at her. Sienna quickly judged the situation, though taken by surprise. Her eyes narrowed darkly.

Sienna turned to Adam and said "If you think I'll just step aside and follow beneath you, you're wrong"

Adam drew Wilt, only for Sienna to backflip away from the slash, throwing off her skirt and her black and red cape to reveal her form-fitting black pants. Then Sienna drew her chain whip wrapped around her wrist as she landed and unleashed a storm of fire and electricity. Hazel hit the deck as the attack killed all the White Fang soldiers in front of and around Sienna instantly, as the common soldiers had no experience with aura.

Adam held out his sword and sucked the maelstrom of energy into his blade. His hair, and outfit glowed as he unleashed a moonslice. Unfortunately, Sienna had seen it coming and dodged the energy wave.

Adam was caught off guard by the dodge, leaving him open for a massive volley of lashes, over and over again until he was knocked down with his aura shattered. Adam's aura was far more durable than this, but Sienna's semblance made every strike more damaging to aura, and the effect got stronger with every hit.

Hazel finally intervened and said "Ma'am, it's not too late to change your mind. Just help in our attack on Haven"

Sienna looked at Hazel and shook her head, but before she could use her whip on Hazel, Adam fired the gun on his sword sheath, repeatedly shooting her in the gut, shattering her aura. As Sienna staggered back from the shots, Adam stabbed her in the gut. Sienna's eyes burned with hatred before Adam pulled the blade out and slit her throat for good measure, the tiger's faunus's eyes went blank as she fell on the floor.

Hazel scowled at Sienna's body as she laid there unmoving. As Adam got up, Hazel said "when were you planning on telling me about this?"

"This was my business, not yours" Adam argued.

Hazel shook his head and replied "it's our business now, and I don't appreciate you hiding that"

"Salem was concerned about Sienna's willingness to cooperate, now she doesn't have to be!" Adam explained.

Hazel looked and all the bodies around him before walking towards the door and saying "nobody needed to die today"

As Hazel left to go check in with Lupin, Adam triumphantly sat on Sienna's throne, ambivalent to all the bodies around him as he said "I…disagree"

Author's note- That was an intense take over!

1. Yes, Yang is very angry with Qrow and Oz, wonder how that will affect the Battle of Haven

2. Jaune is improving with Charlie's training, him and Pyrrha have been training more as well!

3. Sienna was such a badass fighter in that character short that I had to make her fight back!

Next Time- Yang and Ruby have a much needed talk as Hazel meets with Lupin and Mercury Black, then we get introduced to two new characters for the assult on Haven!
