Chapter 7
Anger
In an abandoned warehouse in Mistrial, Hazel was waiting impatiently as white fang soldiers were moving crates of ammo and weapons all over the place. The massive man had a look of bored annoyance on his face as the soldiers listened to Adam's orders.
Another slice in reality opened, and Lupin emerged with two other figures besides him. One was slightly taller than him, while the other was a good two-foot taller than both of them. One was a bipedal, frog-like Pokémon. It was mostly dark blue with a yellow chest, a white triangular marking over each eye, a light blue four-pointed star on each thigh, and yellow on the lower half of its face. It had red eyes with white pupils, and its mouth was hidden behind a large, pink tongue wrapped around its neck and extended outward behind its head. Running down the middle of its head was a fin-like extension, and there is a similar fin on each side of its head. Light blue webbing connected its head fins. There was a large, white bubble-like bump on each elbow and knee. Its back feet had two toes, while its front feet had three toes. Each digit had a bulbous tip and yellow webbing.
The other pokemon was a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a red, metallic exoskeleton. It had blue eyes with a thin black rim. Additional pieces of black armoring appeared on various areas of its body: a three-pointed crest on its forehead and striated coverings on its shoulders and thighs of what appeared to be black metal. Its legs resembled large, tapered spikes with white tips. Most noticeable, however, was the Pokemon's arms, which resembled chainsaws mixed with crab pincers.
"Who are these two?" Hazel questioned as Adam came onto the scene.
Lupin nodded and said, "Salem and I have decided that the White Fang will only secure the perimeter; Watts and I will accompany Raven to the vault while you, Emerald, and Mercury will guard the elevator with these two."
"I am Tempest," the Greninja introduced in a calm female tone.
"And I'm Nortos," the Mega Scizor answered.
"These two are part of a team of 4 pokemon who share my unique genetic trait. Tempest has a slightly different trait but similar enough. I call them the Winds Of Destruction," Lupin explained.
"What about the CCT?" Adam questioned.
Lupin waved his paw and said, "Dr. Watts has found a way to hack into other CCT towers via Haven's tower. He is going to plant a bug today and discreetly begin our plans for Atlas."
Adam's face twitched as he said, "no, the plan was destroying the tower!"
Lupin's calm face showed a hint of annoyance as he said, "the plan has changed; you will still get your public victory over Haven."
Adam shook his head and replied, "no, we need to prove our strength and resolve by destroying the tower."
Lupin's voice was now cold and harsh as he warned, "know you place Adam, you serve us, and we help you!"
"I serve NO ONE!" Adam shouted as he drew his sword, only for Lupin to force palm him a chest.
Every soldier present gasped, while Hazel and the two Winds of destruction were ambivalent to the fight as the soldiers stopped their work and gathered around in a massive circle.
Adam grunted and got up, putting his sword back in his sheath and taking his Iaijutsu stance.
Tempest and Gale began to take a fighting stance, only for Lupin to hold up his hand and say, "I will handle this."
All of the Soldiers backed up, creating a 50-foot empty circle.
Adam charged in, only for Lupin to sidestep and summon his sword out of thin air. With a single slash, he disarmed Adam and cut his hand faster than anyone could perceive.
Adam clutched his hand in pain as Lupin said, "Wilt and Blush are excellent weapons. A shame you are so clearly incapable of using them to their fullest potential. I am completely attuned with my sword, Fenrir."
The bull Faunus ran towards Lupin again; there was a rush of air, and Adam fell to the floor. Lupin had drawn his blade for a fraction of a second, and as he sheathed it, Adam's right horn fell off as well as two cunts on both of his cheeks. Finally, his mask was cut in half, though no one but Lupin saw his face.
Adam looked up, his eyes burning with hated before bowing his head in defeat and covering his face.
Lupin's sword returned to his pocket dimension as he warned, "follow orders, Adam, if you try to attack one of my agents or me, I will take more than one of your horns."
Adam nodded as the soldiers rushed to finish their work; Lupin then turned to Hazel and said, "all the pieces are now in place; the attack on Haven begins in 30 hours."
Ruby was sitting alone in the dorm when Yang came in; the blond brawler sat and hugged her disaster as she said, "I know it's hard."
"Mom died fighting Salem, and now she's coming for us…..I'm….im scared," Ruby confessed.
"Yang nodded and said, "yea, I'm scared too…..but there's nothing wrong with being scared; it's how we rise above it that's important."
Yang had been thinking long and hard about what to say to Ruby, and her words were beginning to calm her sister down.
Ruby's crying slowed as she asked, "you're not mad at Ozpin and Qrow anymore?"
Yang's eyes flashed red before subsiding and answering, "no, I still am, but regardless of how much I don't like the secret they kept from us, we need to keep up the fight and protect others because that's what huntresses do, and that's what Summer would've wanted us to do."
Ruby nodded and replied, "yea."
The two sisters kept each other company as Ruby let her emotions out; whatever came next, they would face it together…..
Author's note- A bit of action before the battle of Haven begins next chapter.
1. The Winds of Destruction are inspired by a group of the same name in Metal Gear Rising Revengance. they won't be in this story much after Haven, the two members present are mainly here to serve as a connecting tissue to the events of Mystery Dungeon Silver Gaze
2. Yang and Ruby reacted to Summer's fate like that in volume 7 despite the implication of what could've happened to her, so them moving on after a good talk makes sense
