I'm sorry it took me so long to update. Somehow I wasn't sure what to do as writing a fanfiction was pretty spontaneous. However, I am now trying to make regular updates, in which period we will still see. Harry Potter and Winx Club are not mine.
Chapter 2
"Our new home ... Gardenia," Harry said as he looked around and admired the beauty of the city.
In front of him are a multitude of streets and dozens of colorful houses, which actually correspond to the current century. And the people who can be seen robbery on the streets, in cafes and restaurants, in cars and on bicycles, all look so happy and happy and just as colorful as the houses. Maybe a bit too light after Harry, but definitely a nice change from gloomy castles and dark robes. Particularly beautiful are some teenage girls who come out of another door of the airport.
I have to say that this is a nice prospect compared to what is usual in my life, thought Harry as he grabbed his stuff, as well as Hedwig's cage, and started moving. He started walking down the street, looking every now and then, still feeling a little surreal, still wondering if this is real.
He fears that this is all just a dream and that he will wake up at any time, again in the same small and dirty room on Privet Drive Number 4. But this time luck seems to be on Harry's side. The further he walks, the more he feels the gentle wind in his hair and catches all the noises from his surroundings, the more he realizes that this is the reality, that this is his new place of peace.
"Finally a real chance for a life of my own the way I want it," thought Harry, while he felt happier and happier.
"First of all I should look for a hotel where I can stay overnight, maybe as a place to stay for my entire vacation. After all, I have enough money now. However, it would seem strange if a fifteen year old could still afford a month's stay in a hotel, "Harry said quietly, looking for a sign or some other sign that might guide him.
After a few minutes, Harry still found nothing So he just decided to ask a random passerby. "Excuse me, sir, but could you please tell me where the nearest hotel is?" Harry asked a man who was about to walk past him.
"Huh, oh Yes. The next hotel is about two miles northwest of here. Just walk straight to the next intersection, then left, next right, then right again and straight ahead. Then the hotel should be in sight. It's called Gardenia's Inn " said the man politely and with a smile on his face.
"Thank you very much," said Harry.
They both waved goodbye and Harry continued on his way, as the man described it. Because of all the luggage and because despite the description, Harry was sometimes not sure where to go next It took almost an hour to finally reach his destination. Of course there was a lot more to admire about the city on the way, so that too lost a few minutes.
When Harry finally arrived in front of the hotel, he looked up and said softly, "Well, it definitely looks pretty. Certainly a good place to sleep for the next few weeks."
The hotel was about 15 to 20 meters high, had six floors and was mostly colored blue you can see a small balcony for each room, which was secured by small white pillars, also to the rear The building stretched several meters, so the rooms are most likely quite large.
When Harry finished admiring the building, he decided to go to the door, which was mostly made of glass, and went inside.
The lobby seemed very cozy, with several armchairs and small tables in front of some, a toilet to his right and the reception desk a few steps in front of him.
Apart from him there were only a few others in the lobby, luckily none at the front desk at the moment. Harry ran forward and started talking to the receptionist.
"Sorry, Miss, I would like to rent a room if that were still possible," Harry said, a little nervously.
The lady looked at him and asked, "Aren't you a little too young to travel alone, young man?"
Harry succeeded nervously. "Maybe, but believe me, I can cope quite well on my own." / "Not that it's anything new to live with the Dursleys."
The woman looked at him a little more closely, decided But then that she would leave it at that and then checked her computer to see if anything was free. "You're in luck, young man, there is still one room left on the top floor, room 6D," said the woman afterwards she finished looking.
"I'll take that," said Harry, reassured and glad that he didn't have to find anything else.
"And how long would you like to stay, sir?" Asked the receptionist.
"I'm not quite sure yet, but I could Book the room for a week first and then refresh the payment again and again until I decide that I want to go back home? "Harry asked unsettled, but tried to feign self-confidence.
The receptionist gave him another strange look, but then tapped again on her computer. "I think that should be possible. I really hope that you won't cause any problems, young man. Besides, that would be $ 30 a night and I would still need your ID to save your identity in the computer "The woman finished, holding out her hand.
Harry then gave her his travel pass and she secured his data in the computer. After she returned the ID to him, she also gave him some brochures.
"These brochures contain information about our city, so you can find places to eat, have fun and entertainment, as well as a lot about our beach and the bar there, which is very popular," the woman explained to him as she then also added handed his room key.
Harry accepted the items gratefully and then set off, hopefully to find an elevator. Shortly afterwards he spotted a supposedly looking elevator and called him over. This appeared a few seconds later and opened so that Harry could get in and then chose the sixth floor. Once at the top he stepped into a nice looking hallway and walked through until he came to a door marked 6D. He put the key in and opened the door. What he saw inside excited him very much.
In the room was a large and soft-looking oak double bed. In front of it was a shelf with a 40 inch flat screen TV. Furthermore, two more cupboards can be seen, both like the bed and the shelf made of oak. The balcony doors are crystal clear and have a few soft red curtains on their sides. Outside on the terrace there are two chairs and a small table. Furthermore, there was a mini fridge next to the bed with two glasses on it. The bathroom, whose entrance is near the door, consists of a toilet, a washbasin, a garbage can and a shower with a barrier.
After Harry had finished marveling at everything, he put his things down, opened the balcony doors and finally freed the croaking Hedwig from her cage.
"All right, all right, Hedwig. I'm sorry I forgot you, "Harry apologized as he skipped the angry owl and it disappeared for a flight with one last croak.
" Well, so much for that, "Harry said with a neutral look.
After Having said this, Harry decided to unpack his things and then watch a little TV. At least the things that Muggles can see without problems.
(Time jump, 6:00 p.m., Harry's room)
After unpacking and relaxing for a while, Harry decided that he wanted to go out. So he was remembering the brochures the receptionist gave him and looking for them, when he found them he searched through them until he came to a page containing the beach bar
The receptionist spoke about. The name is "The Fruity Smoothie Bar".
"It actually looks quite nice in the pictures," Harry mumbled to himself, getting up from the bed and taking his room key to unlock.
Outside he took in the pleasant air and took a few deep breaths before reading the brochure again and looked for a way to get to the Fruity Smoothie Bar. Apparently this is only a little over a mile from the hotel and within walking distance. Harry began his little journey to his goal with determination and hunger
(Timeskip to 18: 30 p.m., Gardenia Beach)
After only half an hour Harry reached his goal, the beach where the Fruity Smoothie Bar is supposed to be. The sea seemed calm and quiet, shining in the slowly setting sun. The beach itself is only visited by a few people, presumably because it is relatively late, but the bar a few meters away looks extremely busy.
The bar itself looks pretty nice too. There is obviously a counter to sit on with a view of many colored drinks, both inside and outside there are tables and chairs that look like fruit, and there is even a stage in this place.
Here and there and there people gather and enjoy refreshing drinks and a good time with their friends.
"This place seems to live up to its name," Harry said to himself as he continued to gaze everywhere, wondering what to do.
After all, the people here will not know him, but that doesn't mean that he suddenly feels comfortable with large crowds.
Ultimately, he decides to take a seat at one of the few unoccupied tables and hope that an employee will notice him.
"To be honest, apart from the sheer amount, I feel pretty comfortable here," Harry says in his mind and relaxes in his seat. He takes in the delicious aroma that is in the air and tastes all the different ones Bar offers without having tried anything. From apples and bananas, to strawberries and cherries, to kiwi and melon, you can try everything in fruit.
Suddenly Harry hears a few steps moving towards him. He looks up to see who is approaching him and freezes. He expected to see a waiter, or even one of Voldemort's followers, as paranoid as that sounds, but instead he stares into the face of arguably the most beautiful girl he has ever seen.
She has long pink hair, with the tips turning to blonde, big, friendly eyes that have a radiant blue-violet tone, delicate pink lips that are shaped into a smile. She also wears a long-sleeved pink-green top, with a blue paw print on it, which also shows her bare belly. In addition, a turquoise-colored jeans and magenta-colored boots.
All in all, Harry has never been so amazed at a girl, despite his infatuation with Cho, but just like then, he doesn't know what to say. However, since he does not know this girl and does not want to appear like a fool who is easily delighted by girls, he quickly tries to control his blushing and take hold of himself. Soft curses ring out in his subconscious about his fool-like demeanor.
(POV Roxy)
It seems like it's another busy day at the Fruity Music Bar. I just hope I can handle so much work. Roxy speaks in her mind as she grabs two more trays of smoothies made his way to the next table. It's another eventful evening in the Fruity Music Bar and accordingly there is a lot to do.
Since the early afternoon Roxy has been busy with the waiters, cleaning the tables, chairs and the counter, washing the dishes and somehow dealing with Artoo. She adores her dog and friend, but for some reason he's been going crazy for hours. It's not like he's acting like a rabid dog or anything, but he has started barking and looking in certain directions more and more times for no apparent reason, even though there is nothing unusual to be seen there. He also seemed to be staring at a snow-white and beautiful owl, which was briefly seen on the edge of the bar, which is actually strange, since owls are rather nocturnal and they also seemed to have a pretty intelligent look.
In any case, Roxy has been working for several hours now and is getting a little exhausted, but she knows that she has to help her dad because he can't do the job on his own.
I really wish Dad would just hire a few more people who can help us. Roxy thinks a little annoyed and takes the two pills, which are now empty, under her right arm and goes back to the counter to look around a little to rest.
Once there, she quickly discovers Artoo behind the counter, who, to sleep, is standing upright and staring over the counter in a certain direction, a curious look can be seen in his eyes.
What's the matter, Artoo? I thought you just wanted to rest. Roxy asked and didn't really get an answer, except for a few small noises.
Curious as to where Artoo might stare, she turns in the said direction and looks if she could discover anything that could be reason enough for Artoo to distract him like that. At first she doesn't really see anything, but then she sees a boy a few tables away, sitting alone and looking around as if he were here for the first time. Admittedly, he doesn't look exactly familiar to her either. Not that she really knows every single customer, but at least their faces always seem familiar to her. So maybe a tourist, or someone new to the city.
A little curious, Roxy makes her way to the unknown boy, although she does so too, since she is still working and has to take his order.
She is getting ready to speak when he suddenly looks up at her and his eyes widened a little. His cheeks are flushing a bit and he seemed a little disconcerted. At such a look, Roxy also blushes a little and takes a closer look without him noticing.
She sees a young boy, about sixteen years old, with black hair and bright green eyes. He wears glasses over them. He also wears blue jeans, black shoes and a completely red top, which is a little tight and shows his slightly muscular shape. All in all, he looks pretty good for a boy his age.
Directing her attention to his face again, she also discovers a lightning-shaped scar, which actually looks quite strange, but in order not to appear impolite, she lowers her gaze a little to his eyes and starts to speak to take his order.
(End of Roxy POV)
"Sorry, can I take your order", the pink-haired girl asked Harry, who has focused again and answers her.
"Ah well, I don't really know what to take as I've never really had a smoothie. Is there anything you could recommend?
"Roxy thinks a little and then says," Actually everything we serve is very good without sounding arrogant, but I like the strawberry smoothie and a light fruit salad best of all. "
" Then I'll take that, "Harry replies.
Roxy writes down the order but looks back at Harry and asks him with a smile: "Tell me, you're not from here, are you? Not that there's anything wrong with that, you just don't seem to be a familiar face. ", She finishes with a slightly nervous look.
Harry smiles back and answers her, not offended or anything like that, but a little careful about what he can tell you and what better to keep a secret: „No, not really. I'm from Great Britain, England, but I decided to take a little vacation because it got ... a bit stressful at home. "Harry finishes with a totally calm look.
Roxy, who notices the little pause but doesn't think it's her business, replies: "Well, welcome to Gardenia then. We are not a particularly well-known place, but a peaceful and beautiful place. In addition to our bar and direct access to the beach, we also have cinemas, theaters, an amusement park, a large mall, a lot of green nature and a lot of friendly people. "
Harry, who is very excited about the prospect of experiencing so much new things, says: Well then, looks like I have a lot to do. And it seems I have chosen a good place to start, "he ends with some enthusiasm in his voice.
Roxy blushes a little at his cheerful tone and smile for some reason unknown to her and says, "Well, I'm sure you will enjoy your time here and I hope you will come back to the Fruity Smoothie Bar again. Oh and by the way, mine Name is Roxy. "As she extends her hand with a smile.
Harry, who returns that smile and also extends his hand to shake hands, says, "I'll definitely be back, especially with such a friendly employee. And my name is Harry, "They both shake hands, blushing, and Harry mentally scolds himself for his inadvertent flirtation.
"Well then I'll be right back with your order. Wait a few minutes Harry. ", said Roxy as she made her way back to the counter.
"What are you doing Harry! Stop being a drooling idiot with every pretty face! "Harry's voice rings in his own mind, while at the same time he also wishes to speak to her again.
Harry just stares at the table for a few minutes, trying to concentrate until he hears incoming footsteps again. There next to his table is Roxy again, this time with a tray that seems to have his order on it
"Here's your smoothie and your food Harry," Roxy said as she handed him his order. "Thank you Roxy," Harry said as he looked at her with a smile.
"Oh, that's not worth mentioning. After all, that's my job. ", Roxy answered him with a gentle smile of her own.
"Are you the only one at work, or why don't I see anyone else serving people here?" Harry asked, genuinely interested.
"In fact, I'm the only waitress hired here, and overall it's just my father and I who work here because he owns the Fruity Smoothie Bar and thinks we can do all the work ourselves," Roxy finished with an embarrassed voice and a little annoyed look.
"Huh, then you have to be really impressive to do all this work on your own," Harry said, slightly impressed with her hard work and perseverance.
Roxy blushes again and has to think about what to say. "Oh, that's nothing, just my daily life," said Roxy.
"Still, you should be proud of your work, by far not everyone can do that," Harry told her.
"Well, thanks for the compliment, Harry," Roxy said, still smiling slightly.
Suddenly she catches something in her gaze and both look in the same direction, where a sturdy blond man appears to be waving his hands to Roxy.
"Oh, this is my father Klaus. I guess I have to get back to work. ", Roxy said as she took the empty tray and went to her father, but turned around again and said:" It was nice to meet you Harry, hopefully we'll see you again soon . "She then runs back to the man with one last look and is soon out of sight.
Harry looks for a few more seconds at the spot where he just saw Roxy and then starts enjoying his salad and smoothie with a smile. He enjoys his fruity and refreshing order, which is just right for him due to the summer weather. Harry enjoys every single bite because he is usually not used to such a food in the summer and is really happy that he now has the opportunity to enjoy something like this. He could really come to the Fruity Smoothie Bar every day just to enjoy it. And possibly to get to know Roxy a little better.
At these thoughts Harry blushes a little again and tries to concentrate on something else, although that is easier said than done as Roxy seems like a really nice girl and in terms of looks he really doesn't need to mention anything else.
Just getting redder cheeks, Harry continues his dinner and is ready after a little more time, but he thinks about ordering something because it was tasty, but somehow a bit light.
Before he thinks about it any further, he hears the sound of a microphone and looks around for the source and discovers three young men with instruments on the stage. One is on drums and two more on guitars, and one of the guitarists is up front, probably also the vocalist of the obvious band.
"Hello Gardenia, I welcome you to our show," the guy in the middle begins, "I'm Andy and my friends and I'm are happy to be able to play for you today. We also want to say thank you to Klaus for giving us the opportunity to have this gig at all. "
The people cheer and Harry is also looking excitedly on stage. He's never been to a concert and what looked like the Weird Sisters at the Yule Ball, but Harry couldn't really take the time to enjoy it as he was with the tournament, Cho and was too busy for other things too.
Shortly after this performance, the man known as Andy started playing and his two friends got on with it. This was followed by about two hours of loud, but good music, which Harry also enjoyed very much. However, due to the flight earlier in the day and all the other stress he was going through recently, he got quite tired and decided to make his way back to the hotel.
When he was standing on the edge of the bar, he turned around again briefly and saw Roxy, who was still working. As luck would have it, Roxy turned to him and saw that he was about to leave. So she waved goodbye to him with a smile and he did the same. Then he finally got loose.
(Later that night, around 11:00 PM, Harry's hotel room)
Harry was getting ready for bed when he heard a familiar noise. He looks at the window, which is still open, and sees Hedwig sitting there.
"Hedwig," Harry happily greeted his owl, "How was your flight? Were you able to stretch your wings and get to know the city better? "
In response, Hedwig nodded and flew over to her perch next to the cage and began to clean herself a little before she also retires to sleep.
Harry, seeing this, thinks it is time for him to sleep too, in his new bed.
"That was a really eventful day with a lot of new experiences, but I'm also curious what else can come," Harry thinks to himself before falling into a happy and relaxing sleep.
(At the same time with Roxy)
Roxy finally got ready for bed. Finally being able to rest from a stressful day sounds really good to her. She puts on her nightwear, strokes Artoo again, who has curled up in his dog bed next to her bed before she also gets into bed.
"Finally I can rest. Hard to believe how much work there was to be done. Why can't we just hire a few people to make the job easier. The Fruity Smoothie Bar is so popular that we really need a few more helpers, but we could also pay. "Roxy thinks before her thoughts wander to another point, which has to do with a certain black-haired and green-eyed boy. "At least I was able to find someone new today to get to know. Harry seems really nice. And also cute. ", Roxy blushes a little," I hope he really comes back to the bar, it would be nice to have a new friend. "
Then Roxy falls asleep and enjoys a relaxed and much-needed night's sleep.
