Sleeping in an old post office was… not ideal. By a miracle, the black-haired female had found a pile of paper to sleep on, although she quickly fled the place when a rat scurried by her makeshift bed in the early morning.

She needed to find a Human and soon… Lucy would soon alert her parents and they would soon send out a Spawn to collect the powers she took back. Just thinking about that sent an unpleasant shiver down her spine. Spawns were born from small fractions of whatever elements or species the creator decided was worthy to create a Spawn. "I made one." Zoey muttered out loud as she wandered aimlessly down the sidewalk. It was years ago, back when she thought her parents were collecting power to protect the family from bad guys. It was the… only Spawn she made… she got distracted, added too much of the element and fraction of the animal she picked.

Zoey didn't know what happened to the Spawn, Lucy said her parents destroyed it. She couldn't tell if she was sad… or relieved. Perhaps sad, even if Spawns were nothing more than glorified puppets. The young lady sighed and pushed these thoughts away. The last thing she wanted was to go that far into the past.

As she walked around, she found herself smiling at the music a man played with a strange golden colored instrument. "Sax… Saxophone." Zoey tested the word out loud and smiled more. She read about them, they looked like so much fun! The man played a lovely tune as people walked by him on the sidewalk, dropping coins and cash into his case. Was that how Humans made a living? One form no doubt. It was certainly a nice one though. Humming the tune under her breath, Zoey walked the streets of the fair city… to which she had no idea was called. Perhaps she could ask someone… yes, that would be a good idea.

"Excuse me, excuse me!" Zoey stopped a woman, who looked mildly annoyed but stopped nonetheless. "Could you tell me where I am? I have a memory problem." She quickly said when the woman shot her an odd look. "New Orleans." The woman huffed and walked away, making Zoey grumble. Well, that was rude… oh well, at least she had a city to a name now. New Orleans… it had a nice ring to it. Just as she was about to continue, Zoey paused when she saw a young man across the street.

He stood at six feet tall easily, with his Caucasian skin and brown hair along with his hazel-colored eyes, it looked like he could easily slip into a crow unnoticed. Not to Zoey though. She briefly touched the necklace she wore, the disguised cube pulsing with energy ever so slightly. Could he be worthy of such power? Only one way to find out. Quickly crossing the street- mindful to look both ways- Zoey hurried over to him, only to pause. What could she say? As took note that he was writing something down on a little notepad, only when he put it in the pocket of the grey hoodie he wore, his pencil fell. There was her chance!

"Excuse me, you dropped this." The young man whipped around, his hazel eyes growing wide as Zoey held out his pencil. She frowned when he didn't answer for several moments, although he took the pencil afterwards. "… thank you." He muttered, making her frown more. Did she do something wrong? "Are you okay?" Zoey asked.

"I'm alright… just shy." The young man admitted in a second mutter. Zoey's frown disappeared a moment later. "Okay, well… have a nice day." Sending her a small nod, the young man left. 'I don't know about him…' She thought to herself. He seemed so quiet and withdrawn, not at all like the many heroes that saved the world…. well, some of them at least. Still though, she could feel the power pulse faintly, like it hadn't given up just yet.

Perhaps… she shouldn't give up either.

Lucy typed at the controls before her, caring not for the sounds of the machines as she directed them to do her command. "Let little Zoey think she got away." The young woman growled out, taking note to take only a fraction of the Komodo Dragon DNA their androids collected. "Let her think she can give back the power." The black runes on her arms glowed as the energy flowed out of them, causing the red-eyed woman to stumble backwards, a dark smirk graced her features though as she saw where the energy went.

Before her lay a long table that glowed, on the table as a lifeless android she had stripped. All that was left was the body. Soon, it would give birth to a new Spawn. The machines above the husk inserted a liquidize form of the Komodo Dragon DNA into its arm, just as the energy from Lucy wrapped around it like a mummy. Soon the energy died away, revealing Lucy's newest Spawn. "It'll be fun imagining the look on her face when this rips that cube from her hands!"
