The dance stopped when the pony fairies flew away. Something was wrong.

Flynn finally spoke.

"Rapunzel? It's only make believe, isn't it? That you and I are -—"

"Oh, yes" answered Rapunzel.

Soon, they floated down to the ground.

"Rapunzel?" Flynn continued. "You see, it would make me seem so old to be a real father."

Once they landed, Rapunzel was confused but she wanted to know if Flynn liked her more than a friend.

"Eugene, what are your real feelings?" she asked.

Flynn didn't understand "Feelings?"

"Yes. How do you feel? What do you feel? Happiness? Sadness? Jealousy?"

"Jealously? Twilight!"

Unknown to the kids, Twilight heard them from above the tree and magically teleported herself out of sight.

Rapunzel continued on. "Anger?"

"Anger."

SNAP!

Flynn, suspicious and angry, whipped out his dagger at the sound of a twig breaking.

It was Dastardly. He quickly hid himself behind a tree trunk, his breathing intense and his chest heaving silently.

"Dastardly" Flynn answered angrily.

"What about… love?" asked Rapunzel.

"Love?"

Rapunzel nodded as Flynn shield his dagger.

"Nope. I have never heard of it."

"I think you have, Eugene. You must have felt it yourself for something or… someone?"

Flynn shook his head.

"Never. Even the sound of it offends me."

Rapunzel was worried for Flynn and reached out to comfort him, but the young teen backed away, panicking.

"Oh, come on, Blondie, stop it!" Flynn cried. "Why do you spoil everything? We have fun, don't we? I taught you to fight and to fly. What more could there be?"

"There is so much more" Rapunzel said, tears in her eyes.

"What?! What else is there? Huh?!"

"I don't know. I think it becomes clearer when you grow up."

"Well, I will not grow up! I won't go through with it! You cannot make me! I will banish you like Twilight!"

"I will not be banished!"

Flynn was now hurt, then he hovered Rapunzel.

"Then go home" he said as he flew away. "Go home and grow up. And take your feelings with you!"

Rapunzel didn't understand and tried to reason with him, but Flynn was already gone.

From behind the tree, Dastardly saw the truth and grinned, he had an idea.

In the river, Sisu watched as Rapunzel ran back to the hideout, crying.

"Poor child" sighed the water dragon.

Flynn did not want Rapunzel to leave.

Once again, he visited Rapunzel's home to see if Mr. and Mrs. Darling had closed the window yet. But as before, he saw Mrs. Darling in her chair by the window. Her eyes tired from searching the heavens.

"Rapunzel" whispered Mrs. Darling.

As she continued to whisper her daughter's name in her sleep, Flynn felt remorseful but he shook it off with a determined look.

"We can't both have her, lady" Flynn said with a glare.

He slowly shut the window, which caught Scooby's attention.

"Agnarr? Raggy?" he barked.

Mrs. Darling woke up, noticing Scooby sniffing the empty beds, then barked at the closed window.

She tried to open the window, but it wouldn't budge!

"Frederic, help me!"

Mr. Darling was sleeping in the doghouse, he woke up, banging his head on the roof.

"Ouch! What is it?" panicked Mr. Darling. "Have they returned?"

"The window is closed!" cried Mrs. Darling. "It must always be open for them! Always, always!"

The two tried to lift the window, but Flynn tried harder to keep the window shut.

Scooby then helped the helpless parents and the window flung open but nothing was there.

Mr. Darling shook his head. "They've not returned."

Mrs. Darling's heart was broken as her husband stared at the night sky.

Scooby whined as Mrs. Darling sat back down in her chair.

"Back to the doghouse" Mr. Darling finally said.

"But… But, Frederic…" Mrs. Darling protested as he crawled back into the doghouse.

"No. This is the place for me. And here I shall stay, until they return."

Scooby was annoyed.

"It is punishment, isn't it, Frederic?" Mrs. Darling asked. "Are you sure you're not… enjoying it?"

"I have worried about that, Arianna" he replied. "So I have taken steps to make it worse. After all, it is my fault that they left."

Back in Neverland, Agnarr, Iduna, the Lost Boys and Shaggy returned to the hideout when they saw Rapunzel crying.

"What's wrong with her?" asked Boun.

"Probably had another fight with Flynn again" Angry answered, rolling her eyes.

Iduna continued to stare at Agnarr. She hasn't stopped looking at him since the celebration and poor Agnarr was embarassed.

"Wow!" cried Shaggy. "Like I can't wait to tell Mom and Dad about our trip."

This made the Lost Boys gasp and whisper softly.

"Home?!" gasped Alberto.

"Leave Neverland?" Luca asked.

Angry was… well obviously angry.

"I thought you guys love it here" Lance said.

Shaggy shook his head. "Like I wish we could but…"

"Mother and Father would be worried about us" Agnarr added.

The Lost Boys were confused until Angry stepped up.

"Look, you guys have no choice" she said softly. "Flynn won't let anybody go home to grow up. It is best to be forgotten."

The Darling children didn't understand.

As Angry continued, Flynn was about to enter the tree when he heard them and stopped in his tracks.

"It's not our place to say but Flynn, originally Eugene, tried to go home, the door was bared and the window was bared. Some other boy was sleeping in bed."

So that being said, he changed his name to Flynn and he believes that you must expect to be forgotten once you've gone away.

Hurt by the memory, Flynn flew away.

"That's a sad story" Agnarr sniffled.

"But if you tell Flynn, I'll deny it" Angry warned. "I'll lie like a dog."

"We promise. This will be our little secret."

Dastardly returned to the ship where he was welcomed back by the crew, especially Tong, Muttley and Namaari.

"Captain, you're alive!" cried Tong.

"Thank goodness" Namaari sighed.

Muttley gave Dastardly one sloppy kiss.

"Oh, cut that out!" growled the pirate.

In his cabin, Dastardly slipped into new clothes and discussed his plan with Muttley and Twilight, who sat on his bed.

"I can help you get rid of this Rapunzel girl" he said finally. "If you help me..."

"Help you?" chimed Twilight. "How?"

"Oh, nothing. Just a little direction to get to the home of your so-called friend, Flynn."

"Saynora, Blondie!" Muttley agreed.

Twilight was delighted and immediately used her horn to magically pick up a feathered pen.

Using her navigation skills, Twilight told Dastardly that he and his pirates would have to start at Pegleg Point, then forty paces to Blind man's Bluff, hop, skip and jump across Sisu's lagoon.

Muttley didn't like the mention of the great water dragon and snarled viciously.

Finally, Twilight pointed at a tree on the map.

"Hangman's tree" Dastardly and Muttley gasped in unison.

They laughed in victory and the captain swung his companion around and around.

"Promise you won't harm Flynn" Twilight rang out in warning.

"I give you my word, Twilight" the captain replied with a gentle smile. "Not to lay a finger or a hook on Flynn Pan."

But as soon as he pet the alicorn on the head, Dastardly snagged Twilight by the wings and tied a rope around her neck.

"Thank you, Miss Sparkle" he chuckled. "You've been most helpful."

"No!" Twilight screeched. "What are doing with him?"

"Don't fret, my dear. I have plans for Flynn boy. With Pan dead, we'll both be free."

Panicked, Twilight realized the whole scheme was a trap and tried to fly away or use her horn but the rope was magic resistant.

With a chiming whinny, Twilight tried to stop Dastardly though he and Muttley were already heading out on deck to pipe up the crew.

Muttley blew a raspberry and slammed the door in Twilight's face, leaving her in the dark.

To be continued…
