Later that evening as everything settled down, Rapunzel and the kids returned to their home.
"Seriously, Mother" Daphne complained. " I don't know why you fill his head with those silly stories."
"But they're not silly, Daphne" Rapunzel replied. "They're mostly based on adventures that your uncles and I went through."
Daphne cocked a confused eyebrow.
"You see when I was about Elroy's age, I -—"
Soon, there was a knock on the door.
Rapunzel sighed then handed the sleeping Elroy to Daphne.
"Take care of Elroy, will you?" she asked.
Daphne picked up her little brother and stared at her mother nervously.
"Go on. I'll be right there" promised Rapunzel
Daphne unwillingly went upstairs and felt like she was stuck as being his babysitter. As the kids went upstairs, Rapunzel answered the door. Her face and tone of voice grew slow and serious as there was General Rogard (from The Iron Giant) at the door.
"Are you Mrs. John Smith?" Rogard asked firmly.
"Yes?" she asked, worried of what he might say next.
"Evacuation, ma'am. Your children are scheduled on the morning train."
"So soon?" Rapunzel was understandably heartbroken. "But, I haven't even told them."
"The sooner the better if you ask me," the general said, then saluted. "Good night, madam." he walked off.
"Yes, uh, good night..." Rapunzel nearly choked.
Meanwhile, Namaari and her crew finally found Sisu's home, which was now completely flooded by water.
"If Sisu says she lives in a lagoon, she wasn't kidding" Tong said in awe.
"Last time we were here, it was an average sized lake unlike Mermaid Lagoon" Namaari remarked in disgust. "Now, it's a large swamp!"
The two pirates frantically searched the area, calling out for Dastardly.
"Captain! Captain, where are you? Captain!"
Muttley sniffed around the area for the captain, though disgusted by the smells of the water dragon and other odors that you couldn't imagine.
Something floated toward Namaari.
It was pieces of red and black cloth from Dastardly's coat during his last battle with Flynn.
Determined, Muttley sniffed out the cloth pieces and followed them.
Eventually, Tong found a rusted steel hook and shoulder harness.
"Namaari!" he called out to his partner.
The knife welder pirate picked up the hook with utter shock. She held it close to her and sobbed.
Muttley saw what happened and tears ran down his face, then he let out a mournful, loud howl for the whole island to hear.
In childrens' nursery, which was a lot like the nursery Rapunzel, Agnarr and Shaggy grew up in back home. In there, little Elroy was staring at his family portrait of him, his sister and his parents.
"Aw, gee, Daph, you used to be fun," the blonde boy turned to his older sister. "What made you lose that spark?"
"I don't wanna talk about it..." Daphne scoffed, and took off the green helmet, putting it in place before muttering "Jeepers."
Just then, Rapunzel came in the room.
"Guys, will you promise me something?" Rapunzel called to her children as she sat down. "Promise me you'll watch over each other what ever might happen?"
"What?" Daphne frowned. "What's going on?"
"...You and your brother are going away for a while..."
"W-When...? Where?" squeaked Elroy.
"All the children are being evacuated to the country. It's so dangerous here, but you'll be safe there."
"I'm not going, I'm staying here." Daphne told her as she folded her arms.
"But, dear, an order has been issued," Rapunzel told her daughter. "Every child must go."
But Daddy said I'm supposed to-"
"I know. But you can take care of Elroy. Tell him Flynn Pan stories. He need them. And so do you. Please, dear... Promise me..."
"NO!" Daphne hissed. "I will NOT promise!"
"Daphne, we'll be together again, I promise! You must have faith..."
"Faith! Trust! Pixie dust! Mom, those are just words from your stories! They don't mean anything!"
"Yes they do!" Elroy said, whining. "Flynn Pan said they'd make you fly!"
"Elroy, story time is over!" Daphne snapped at him. She then stormed over and opened her curtains. "Look! It's a war! Flynn Pan isn't real! People don't even fly!"
"THEY DO TOO!"
"Oh come on, Elroy, grow up!"
"Daphne!" Rapunzel scolded her daughter.
"It's just a lot of childish nonsense!" Daphne was sounding a lot like her grandfather.
"You're lying!" Elroy cried and ran off.
"Daphne, how could you treat your brother that way?" Rapunzel scolded. "You think you're very grown up, but you have a great deal to learn."
"I'm not a child now," Daphne continued to argue. "I can take care of myself."
Rapunzel closed the door on her and went with Elroy, who was crying.
Daphne sighed emotionally as she was going through a lot of pressure right now due to living in a war zone and how she began to stop believing in her mother's stories about Flynn Pan.
After comforting Elroy and placed him in bed, Rapunzel found a purple haired woman standing at the stairs.
"Hello?" she began anxiously. "Who are you?"
"Aw, c'mon, Raps" laughed the woman. "It's me, Sisu!"
Rapunzel smiled tearfully, recognizing the goofy looking human as Never Land's only water dragon.
"Gosh, you've grown up!" giggled the human-dragon. "Are you okay? I sensed some distress."
"It's my daughter, Daphne," Rapunzel frowned. "And she and my boy, Elroy have to be evacuated out of the country."
"They're are leaving...? Huh. No wonder your world looks like a wreck."
"I'm sorry, Sisu, and Daphne's behavior isn't going to make it much better, especially since she just yelled at her brother about Flynn Pan not being real."
"Why would she say that? It's like she's trying to be an adult."
"I think she is...I wanna help her, but I don't know what to do."
Sisu sighed as she felt bad for Daphne and her behavior, and leaving the country seemed to make the situation a bit worse.
She soon thought back on one of the adventures Rapunzel and her brothers had with Flynn Pan and thought that maybe going there until the war was settled.
They soon heard someone on the roof which wasn't a good thing.
"Who could be on the roof?" Rapunzel wondered.
"Santa?" Sisu replied. "But, wait. It's not even Christmas."
They soon looked out the window. Daphne then emerged from the nursery.
"Elroy?" she called out. "Elroy, I'm sorry about earlier."
Sisu then gasped and realized something.
"What is it?" Rapunzel asked.
"We better help her" Sisu immediately said, panicking.
"Is it Captain Dastardly?"
"I don't think so. He was supposed to be in hiding."
They soon hurried off to Elroy's room.
To be continued…
