Kingdom Hearts
Ch. 77
Agrabah
The Boy in the Hood
Agrabah had fallen into chaos. The city was burning and the sky was covered in darkness. In the Palace throne room Jafar scolded Jasmine. He marched over to the Princess who was crouching and bound to chains. "Heroes? Who? Those other world brats? They're as good as dead. If the one person who supposedly holds the most powerful weapon ever known can't defeat me. Then who can? Is there someone else? Well show them to me, please." He gave a foul stair at the girl as she tilted her head to the floor.
Jasmine smiled ironically asking, "Why, why do you hate this place so much? Your home. Your people? What compels you to go so far. That you'd make it all disappear."
Jafar stood over the bound Princess, "You really don't get it?" He turned to the Immortals. "Kurt unchain her from the floor," he commanded.
"Jafar, really?" Kurt said confused.
"That's Sultan to you," Jafar roared pointing to Jasmine. Kurt remained obedient. He took a key from his belt and unlocked the coil chaining her to the floor. Jafar grabbed her and forced her on her feet. He then brought Jasmine out to the balcony to get a good view of the city ablaze.
He thrusted her onto the railing and pointed out to the city. "Can't you see this world is doomed with or without me. If I don't eliminate it now. Eventually this world will die anyway. I knew ever since I was a child left to die alone on the baron sands. As I wandered dying for food and water with only sand in my line of sight. I became disgusted by it. The clothes I wore, the sand I walked on, the creatures I witnessed. I hated it all. No one could build a proud civilization on this baron wasteland. The Genie's magic is the only reason its fate prolonged the inevitable. And finally the people of this world will be put out of their struggle and misery. This world's suffering will finally end. It's better to die a quick death then a long and drawn out one."
"Oh you shouldn't count humanity out just yet. If this world taught me anything. Life will always find a way even when its seems impossible," screamed Sora loudly from atop a wooden platform in front of the palace gates. Jafar's ears drummed at the sound of Sora's voice. He and Jasmine looked down to see the boy in a white hood with his keyblade on his shoulders. Donald stood to his left with Goofy and Tarzan standing to his right. They stood proud staring up at Jafar in a distance
"What your still alive?" shouted Jafar from up high. He raised his staff in the air showing off a freighting glare.
Jasmine smiled in relief, "Sora you came back!"
The young keyblade wielder smiled back at Jasmine. "I told you. I never leave a friend behind. Besides I have a promise to keep. You're going to cry nonstop when were done here," he yelled confidently. The Immortals also came out to see what the commotion was about.
They looked down at their foes like kings observing peasants. "We came here for a proper fight. You may think you beat us last time. But you only won because you attacked us in the back. It's time to settle the score," yelled Donald waving his staff.
"We won't let you destroy this world while we're still standing on it," proclaimed Tarzan tapping his spear on the wooden platform.
"Yeah we won't-er-won't uh uhm. What was my line again?" Goofy quipped to his friends. The others all fell down on the hard-wooded floor in embarrassment and shock.
Sora got up and yelled, "You forgot? We spent the whole ride here practicing our entrance speech."
Goofy scratched his head, "Sorry I got a little bit of stage freight." The others sighed in disappointment.
"These are the heroes who were supposed to defeat us?" asked Dust folding her arms over her head.
"Even so never underestimate an opponent. That's what separates the good warriors from the great ones," said Kurt grabbing his swords.
Zisa stuck out his snake like tongue. "When this is over we should gorge on some grilled duck. What do you say?" He stared at Donald imagining hot stewed duck for supper.
On the other side of the Palace while the friends made fools of themselves. Aladdin and Abu infiltrated the fortress through a window with the help of Carpet. "I hope they can distract Jafar long enough. This place is like a maze."
Aladdin turned to the Carpet who was entering through the window. "Carpet you stay outside and keep out of site. Head to the garden and wait. After we free Jasmine we'll rendezvous there and finally escape from this place for the last time. Abu you stay with him. Sound the alarm to get our attention if I'm with Jasmine." Abu nodded before they gave one last embrace. The Carpet gave a salute after Abu hopped on its back. It flew off disappearing out of sight. Aladdin snuck off quietly through the Palace halls carrying his swords.
Back at the wooden platform, the Disney Gang were arguing over what to say. "No, no you say prepare to meet your doom," Sora said to Goofy.
"Don't you think that's a little cheesy?" Goofy asked tilting his head.
"Then why don't I say it instead," Donald protested.
"No, you all have to have an equal number of lines. Or it will seem like one is up staging another," Sora explained.
"But Sora, you have more lines then all of us combined," Goofy said.
"Well of course. I'm the leader so," Sora said before Donald interrupted.
"Leader who said so."
"Well I am. I have the keyblade," he argued.
"Sora you can't just make yourself the leader. We should put it to a vote," Goofy proposed. He turned to Tarzan, "Right Tarzan. You agree with me?"
Tarzan was caught off guard, "Oh I'm sorry. You say something. I wasn't paying attention."
"You weren't listening," Sora and Donald shouted.
"Well sorry. You drifted off from the script and I got bored," Tarzan explained crouching down.
"Bored were in the midst of our finest moment," Sora yelled loudly.
"Finest moment? Yeah, whatever you say," Tarzan said sarcastically.
The friends continued to argue and bicker. Everyone on the balcony still watched them from above like they were attending a comedy act. Dust spoke while cracking a smile behind her veil. "You know I have some conflicting feelings about this right now. I don't know if I should feel amused from watching these idiots, disappointed that I won't get a proper fight, or be embarrassed to think these guys are our biggest threat."
"Same here," Kurt motioned. Jasmine looked at them in utter disbelief with her mouth gapped open and her eyes white like milk.
"That's it. I'm putting an end to this," Jafar said circling his left hand over his staff making darkness appear around the object. "Heartless come hither. Destroy these simpletons and turn them into heartless." Pawns of darkness from all around the city heard Jafar's cry. They disappeared from the streets leaving the helpless citizens alone. Only to reappear crowding the stone tile ground surrounding the wooden platform. The Disney Gang kept arguing even with the numerous enemies that outnumbered them.
Jiminy who was staying safe in Sora's hood had enough and popped out. "That's enough. We've given Aladdin enough time. Now we have a new problem." The gang looked down at the streets to see hordes of heartless begin to climb the scaffolding like insects.
"Dang, I was too into my role." Donald casted a Thunder spell destroying the heartless climbing up towards them. Sora and the others jumped down to the ground bringing out their weapons. The friends fought through the heartless making their way towards the Palace entrance. Swarms of heartless numbering the hundreds attempted to halt them.
"We've probably should have thought of a way in the Palace before our act. Aladdin can't take them all by himself," Tarzan said while he stabbed a Fat Bandit Heartless.
"We've come this far. I'm sure we'll think of something," Sora said fighting several heartless off with a few swings of his keyblade.
Suddenly thunder magic was cast destroying most of the heartless in front of Sora. "Thanks Donald," said Sora towards his friend.
Donald was busy fighting off some bandit heartless shouting out, "That wasn't me."
"There's no need for any thanks," proclaimed Baraka standing on the top of a building pointing her staff at the crowds. Adia came up behind her with her sword in hand. Baraka cast a barrier spell on her comrade materializing a magic orb around Adia. She jumped down and began slicing up heartless one after another. The heartless' claws were deflected by the magic barrier.
Soon more of the Harem girls appeared lessening the heartless population. The woman bashed through the heartless taking out as many as they could. They either jumped from the rooftops on top of heartless or ran into the swarms on the streets. Adia and Oma appeared in front of Sora taking out the heartless he was facing. "Sora the Princess needs you go. Save Agrabah," asserted Adia decapitating a soldier heartless.
Sora smiled giving a thumbs up while giggling. "You guys time to go," he shouted to the Disney Gang. They all nodded and made their way toward the Palace entrance destroying any heartless in their way. The four friends finally were a short distance away from the Palace walls.
"What now?" asked Goofy running towards a closed gate.
"This now," Tarzan said grabbing Goofy's shirt. Energy coursed through his muscles. Tarzan lifted Goofy up with one arm and tossed him up in the air with great strength. Goofy screamed his iconic yell as he ascended the wall looping over to the other side.
Tarzan then grabbed Donald who pleaded, "Hey hold on." But Tarzan didn't listen throwing Donald over the wall. Donald also yelled almost like he was flying over the walls.
He then turned to Sora who spoke nervously, "At least warn a guy before you fling him high in the air." Tarzan did not heed his advice and grabbed Sora's hood before tossing him over the wall.
Tarzan then ran to the Palace wall and used his strength to pierce the solid stone with his bare fingers. He then began to climb up the wall like a spider with his brown coat flickering in the wind. With remarkable speed he reached the top of the wall perching on it. Tarzan looked back to the city watching their comrades fight for them before jumping off down to the ground below.
From a distance Jameelah watched them accomplish this feat while the city of Agrabah had gone to war with the very darkness that had infested it. Staring upon the warzone she gave a slight smile before taking out her cane and revealing it to be a sword. She walked towards the heartless swarm waving her sword joining her students in their fight.
Back behind the walls of the Palace. Aladdin was fighting off several heartless with his duel swords. "Out of my way," he said to the giant Fat Heartless. The heartless prepared to crush him. But Aladdin slid under the heartless cutting it's legs off. It toppled over using it's stomach to bounce like a ball knocking into some soldier heartless like bowling pins.
Aladdin snuck by going into a corridor leading to another hallway. He ran down the path hoping to find the throne room.
Eventually he heard voices in a distance. He silently slowed down as he passed by the renowned mural that told this worlds history. He finally saw the Throne Room door opened wide. Aladdin saw the Genie sitting on the floor alone holding his chin up with his hands. His face gave off a hopeless expression.
The Genie eventually noticed Aladdin sneaking in the giant room. Genie turned cheerful "Al, Al, little buddy." Aladdin shushed him as he snuck towards the lamp. Genie did as he was told zipping up his lip literally. Aladdin tip toed towards the lamp as the Genie waited eagerly. The Genie then noticed two pots placed beside the throne room door. Darkness began to pour out of the jars like a shaken up soda can. Genie realized something was a foot. He tried to warn Aladdin, but his lips were sealed.
The darkness poured out with bones mixed in before both rose up and took the forms of men. Two dark figures formed behind Aladdin with a sinister presence. One wore a jackal mask and baggy pants. The other was overweight holding a book to his side and a bandana on its head. He had long ear lobes and a twisted beard like the Genie's. They didn't make a sound as the two walked towards Aladdin.
The jackal faced man walked behind him preparing to stab the boy while Aladdin nearly touched the lamp with his fingers. Genie desperate unzipped his mouth warning Aladdin, "Behind You!"
Aladdin looked to Genie angry before noticing someone was behind him. He turned his head noticing the jackal faced man lifting his sword at Aladdin. The young boy brought out his blade clashing with the dark figures. The fat one grabbed the lamp swiping it from Aladdin.
Jafar and the others realized there was commotion behind them. Jafar dragged Jasmine back into the throne room. The fat man appeared next to Jafar handing him the lamp as Aladdin and the jackal masked man dueled. "You!" Jafar said bitterly. "How many times must I dispose of you vermin."
Jasmine spoke in glee, "Aladdin you're back too."
Aladdin spoke ironically, "You know. You got to fight for who you care about. That's when you know it's," he stopped midsentence noticing Jasmines wounds. Jafar used his magic to subdue Aladdin. Shooting out purple magic sounding, "Gravity." The magic hit Aladdin's body forcing him to the ground.
"Jafar you rat. If you hurt her?" Aladdin yelled angrily. The Jackal faced man ceased his advances putting its swords away.
"Like my servants. They're a security system I put into place to deal with intruders when I'm not around. He smiled as the end of his staff turned sharp like a spear. He walked towards the boy as everyone watched. "Trust me boy. You should worry about yourself."
Jasmine screamed out, "No Jafar don't."
Genie came up to Jafar pleading. "Jafar, we don't have to go this route. Please he's just a boy."
"No more mercy. No more forgiveness." Jafar stood over Aladdin "You were born a street rat and now you'll die a street rat. With only your flees left to mourn you." He raised his sharp ended staff over Aladdin who was trying to figure a way out. But the force of gravity on his body was so strong he could only move his neck and fingers.
"Stop!" yelled Jasmine.
At the last moment an object came twirling at them knocking Jafar's staff out of his hand. His gravity spell ceased releasing Aladdin from the magic. He rolled away before getting back on his feet bringing out his swords in a defensive position. Jafar looked to his staff knocked to the ground by the keyblade. Jafar summoned his staff back to his hand reappearing in his grasp. Everyone turned to the entrance of the throne room.
In the door way, Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Tarzan were standing there with a horde of dead heartless behind them. Jafar and his Immortals stared back at their adversaries. Sora smiled at a disgruntled Jafar. They all stood in confidence as the final battle was about to begin.
