Kingdom Hearts
Ch. 83
Agrabah
Sora vs Jafar
Out in the city of Agrabah, people of all classes young and old tilted their heads up cheering in the streets. Children were siting on their Father's shoulders calling out along with their parents. Old merchants and crippled men found the heart to stand and yelled as loud as their old throats mustered. The Genie was energizing the crowd calling out the results of the battles. He sat in a booth in the form of a spectator for a sports game. "The Unbeatable Three had finally been defeated! The Strangers of the Desert have done the impossible and overcame their adversaries!" the Genie shouted into the microphone spreading the news to the people
The screens displayed the outcome of the battles the Immortals had with Donald, Goofy, and Tarzan. Each screen displayed the Immortals unconscious bodies on the ground with their opponents walking away victoriously. The screens eventually turned to static after their battle ended. The three screens then shrunk till they were out of sight with only one screen remaining. The final display grew to a large size allowing the whole city to watch. Three more screens appeared circling the Palace, so everyone could get a full view of the final struggle for their world.
On it depicted the stride with Sora and Jafar. Genie continued to pump up the crowd getting them to continue cheering Sora's name. With every word he spoke his mouth enlarged increasing his vocal range. "Do not let up just yet. The battle is still not over. The tyrant Jafar still remains in power. And only the wielder of the keyblade can over take him. Now cheer him on, keep yelling his name! Don't stop he needs us now more than ever! Tell Jafar who we really support." Genie raised his arm in the air shouting this repeatedly. The people did as they were told too calling out.
"Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora, Sora!"
Back on top of the Palace. Sora and Jafar were still dueling against the other. Jafar kept his distance and used his magic to harm Sora. The young keyblade wielder tried his best to get in close and land a blow but Jafar transformed into a black and purple orb of smoke to float away to safety. "Coward, that's not far," he shouted.
"There is no such thing as being fair in a battle to the death," Jafar said returning to his human form.
"Well then that means there's no rule that prohibits a 2 on 1 fight," shouted Aladdin jumping out of the hole in the floor. He was high in the air with his blades glowing bright before he thrusted his arm shooting a white projectile slash at Jafar. The old man nearly missed the attack moving his neck just as the projectile slid passed him. The slash projectile flew right passed Jafar's face cutting his cheek. Jafar felt only a brief pain. He stopped in his tracks and lifted his fingers up to his face. He used his hand to feel the cut on his face. Jafar became slightly irritated, "You worthless street rat. How dare you harm your Sultan."
Aladdin landed on the ground without error. He quickly tended to Jasmine who was bruised on the floor. His eye twitched seeing her hurt in such a way, "Jasmine why? That monster. I'll make him pay for this," he said angrily.
Jasmine only twitched a bit feeling intense pain whenever she tried to get up. Her clothes were ruffled and burnt. "I'm sorry just run. Please forgive me I am the one who brought you into this now run. Both you and Sora," she pleaded grasping Aladdin's vest on the ground.
Sora became irritated after she spoke. He turned to her angrily. "Is that what you think? Tell me if you are the ruler of this kingdom. If it's your bidding, then I'll leave. Maybe you didn't need us? Maybe you did? But you are still here my Princess. The only choices that matter is the ones you make now. You chose to stay inside all these years because you were scared. Then you decided to free yourself when you weren't anymore. Tell me my Princess what is it you ask of me? It's not my place to meddle in the affairs of this world. But I made a promise to get you to cry tears of joy when this is over. And I keep my promises. Now let me grant you one wish and if it's in my power I will carry it out no matter what."
Jasmine was stunned remaining speechless moving only a little to get on her knees. She closed her eyes thinking of those in her life "Her Father, her friends, her people, herself." Her throat clenched as her eyes twitched thinking, "It's finally time now. Can I finally say what I want? Father, those heroes you prophesied had finally come to grant me my wish. Now after all this time."
Jasmine threw her arms to the ground piercing the floor with her fingernails yelling out loud. "Sora, Aladdin I choose to be free. I choose to be happy. I need your help. Please save me from this prison. I want to live for the first time in forever! Save me from this hell."
Jasmine knelt her head giving a groggy voice like she is crying but no tears left her eyes. "Help me."
Aladdin startled mug turned to a satisfied smile. "Sora you really do know how speak directly to the heart," he thought turning back to Jafar raising his swords.
"My pleasure Princess!" Sora remarked raising his keyblade like a loyal knight raises his swords.
He turned back to Jafar smirking at him lifting the keyblades end near his chest. Jafar scowled back, "I'm done with these games boy. You think you have what it takes to beat me? Do you have any idea who I am?" he shouted loudly raising his staff. Its eyes glowed before firing more magic blasts at them.
Sora's face turned red with anger and determination. He moved his body quickly like fluid water evading the magic attacks. "I don't care who you are. No matter what happens. No matter what get's in my way. If it's you, Maleficent, or anybody else who call the darkness their friend. I will beat you!" he yelled as loud as he could.
"Tough words coming from a failure of a child. The keyblade chose w-wrong." Jafar noticed someone come up near him. In the corner of his eye he saw Aladdin come right under him with a twinkle in his eyes. Jafar quickly moved back before Aladdin's swords could hurt him. But Aladdin was too fast, his swords coursed it's end across Jafar's chest ripping his cloak open wounding him greatly. Jafar levitated away from Aladdin clenching his chest. "The technique of the thief. Use the element of speed and surprise to end your opponent," Aladdin said with a dead pan voice.
Jafar felt his wound on his chest "Only a large scratch but even landing that hit was impressive. I keep on underestimating them," Jafar thought bitter.
"That attack should have killed you. But you're not even in that much pain. How can you still stand?" asked Aladdin quite confused.
Jafar giggled pointing to his heart, "My aura you stupid ingrates. Every heart has great power. But only those who know how to use it can truly benefit from its power. The strength of my heart reflects the aura around me protecting my body from any lethal attacks. Though it only weakens the attack and lightens the pain it's still vital in combat. Utilizing ones aura is what separates the good fighters from the great ones."
Sora stopped to ponder thinking back "Aura, protecting one's body in a fight. Does he mean our spirts? Leon mentioned something about an aura while training."
Jafar smirked again, "Just because you don't understand this basic knowledge of fighting. Doesn't mean I'll be going easy on you. I am through underestimating my opponents. This is the end for you."
Jafar's staff glowed again as he raised it in the air. A strong wind swirled around his body as darkness eroded from it. He lunged his staff into the ground causing a strong wind to expand from his location. The winds blew like a tornado indoors. Everyone couldn't even stand up right. Aladdin thrusted his swords in the floor to stay steady. Sora knelt with Jasmine as the winds nearly blew them off their feet.
The walls of the Palace began to crumble as Jafar's wind destroyed the top of the Palace. The marble ceilings were shattered flying out into the city. The Palace was like an erupting volcano with pieces of rubble crashing into buildings like molten rocks. The pieces shattered structures and roads as they crashed down from the air like a meteor shower. People nearby all ran for cover as the battle has reached it climax. "I thought the destruction of our city would have ended by now," One older man spoke while evacuating.
When the dust settled everyone ran to their loved ones finding comfort in their safety. Many volunteered to help those who were injured. For the rest of Agrabah everyone looked towards the Palace seeing it's top has been removed by Jafar. He changed the structure into a giant cylinder rising into the air.
On top of the Palace the heroes managed to keep their ground. The three looked to their foe still determined even from the demonstration of his power. "What was the point of that? He just removed the walls around us," Aladdin asked Sora while kneeling.
Sora answered back, "Don't you see he's a mage. The best way to counter one in a fight is to corner him. Back him up against a wall. He just eliminated his biggest disadvantage."
Aladdin smirked ironically, "You know I don't think of him any less for that."
Both Sora and Aladdin stood on their feet with their weapons in hands. "This is the end" they all thought in unison.
Aladdin and Sora raised their legs at Jafar finally charging as fast as they could. "Fira Storm!" Jafar sounded using his staff to create large fireballs around his body. The fireballs shot at them like missiles in order to burn the target to a crisp. Sora used his keyblade to deflect the fireballs while Aladdin used his agility to dodge them. The fireballs exploded upon hitting the ground creating a small craters all around.
Aladdin came upon Jafar swinging his sword. Jafar used his staff to deflect his blades from landing a hit. The young thief leaped into the air swinging his blades at Jafar again. But the old man persisted. He noticed Sora coming straight for him assisting Aladdin. Jafar quickly returned to his dark orb form evading both of them. Sora and Aladdin stopped in their tracks as Jafar transported to another part of the area returning to his human form. He called on more magic spells to use against them. "We can't keep doing this. He's trying to wear us out" Aladdin mentioned to Sora. "You are right. I think I've got an idea. What if we wear him out?"
"I see what you're saying. I've got the speed. You've got the strength," Aladdin said.
"You support me. While I go after him. Stay a bit behind and watch where he goes next time. Make sure you keep up with him as he moves from place to place. Is that your plan?" Aladdin asked.
Sora nodded, "Something like that."
Sora charged head first using his keyblade to deflect any attack Jafar sent his way. Aladdin stayed behind surveying Jafar's presence. Sora managed to get in close making Jafar retreat again in his dark orb form. The old man's essence levitated to safety with dark mist trailing behind the orb. Jafar wanted to transform a ways away from Sora in order to go on the offensive. He then noticed that Aladdin was following him. The street rat caught up to the dark orb standing right near where Jafar wanted to land. He begrudgingly levitated somewhere else before noticing Aladdin quickly following him. "Get away from me you ugly street rat!" he thought trying to find a good place to land.
This game kept on going until Jafar noticed Aladdin slowing down. He was sweating and breathing heavily from all the running. Jafar took advantage of this and made a good distance away from Aladdin. He was able to materialize returning to his human form again. He seemed to be tired with his back hunched over. He clenched his staff using it to keep balance. "I was in the form for too long," he thought breathing heavily. He then heard someone step behind him. Sora had caught up to Jafar attacking him from behind. He swung his keyblade hitting him in the shoulder. Jafar pulled back levitating away. But Sora kept up to him.
He used his keyblade to strike Jafar's chest hurting the man as he tried to evade. Jafar turned on the offensive sounding "Thundara" electrocuting his staff. He shocked Sora with his magic inhibiting him from pushing forward. Sora stopped running with static over his body. Jafar finally got away from the keyblade wielder. He felt in the clear till he noticed Aladdin coming next to him. Jafar in defense used Fira to ward off his enemy shooting a fireball at the thief. Aladdin lowered his body just enough, so the fireball would only graze his back. He moved in for the kill swinging his blade cutting Jafar's arm that was holding the staff.
"Firaga Body," Jafar sounded lighting his whole body on fire avoiding any close contacts with his enemy. Aladdin felt the heat burn his hands when he got his swords close to Jafar and jumped back as a result. The old man finally got a distance away from his enemies to launch a counter attack. The flames on his body faded though the spell may have hurt him more then them. His clothes and skin were slightly burnt from the flames. He was finally able to get proper footing raising his staff again. He sounded, "Thundara" creating a small lighting storm around his enemies. He then called out the "Firaga Storm" spell doing the same fire barrage as before but with bigger fire balls. Both Sora and Aladdin had to dodge fire and electricity attacks.
"Whoa!" Sora said as a fire ball only burnt some hair off the top of his head. As they evaded Jafar's barrage they tried to get closer. Jafar was determined to stand his ground. He was not going to let them gain any ground on him. He increased the frequency of his attacks as the lighting strikes fell like rain. Sora and Aladdin tried to fight back but they both were shocked by Jafar. They ceased their advance as Jafar levitated away from them.
Sora managed to keep standing while Aladdin struggled. He nearly fell to his knees from the pain. "You are out of your leagues boys. Firaga Storm!" he launched more fireballs at them. Sora was still able to dodge them easily, but Aladdin barely could defend himself. He nearly got fried twice by Jafar. When he ceased to attack Aladdin fell to his knees.
Jafar laughed at Aladdin's plight, "You worthless street rat. You are not even worth the energy to conjure up magic."
Sora looked with concern at his friend, "Aladdin, are you?"
"I'm fine," Aladdin answered managing to get on his feet. He stared back at Jafar's smug grin. "I'm not going to fall. Not to him. He's not even worth a pity's win." Sora noticed Aladdin was in much worth shape then himself. The young keyblade wielder realized why, "You can manifest your spirit right?"
Aladdin looked to Sora, "You mean the aura thing. No, as you can remember. I was only recently capable of true combat. If I'd have known I would have the Genie give me that power. But I would like a few pointers on how it worked. Might be useful."
Sora nodded explaining the concept to him. "From what I was taught we referred to it as our spirits. You can unlock it when your emotions run high. When a person becomes desperate or ambitious in a certain situation. But others gain it by meditation and focus. The latter is more functional but takes a lot longer to achieve."
"Well I'm very desperate right now. Maybe I'll crack the code during the fight," said Aladdin standing up right.
"If you can't unlock your spirt after all of this. I'll begin to doubt your potential," Sora joked.
"I am a worthless street rat after all," Aladdin chuckled.
They both began running towards Jafar again. Jafar kept his barrage of magic up as they got closer. Aladdin ran as fast as he could coming right under Jafar's nose. He swings his swords at Jafar's head as fast as he could. Before his blades could make contact, they were halted by a reflective barrier of hexagons all stuck together. Aladdin stopped looking directly at Jafar's eyes with disgust. Jafar smiled at him. "All is fair," he muddled.
Aladdin jumped back to get a distance away from Jafar. The Sorcerer let his barrier down still smirking. Sora ran up to Aladdin asking, "What happened?"
"He brought up a barrier spell I couldn't touch him," Aladdin answered.
"It looks like he's immobile when he casts that spell. We need to get around it. Or you can," Sora told Aladdin.
They both nodded charging at him again. But this time Sora attacked Jafar head on but his keyblade was blocked by Jafar's barrier. The old Sorcerer was still warrying of his sides occasionally glancing around him. Just as he predicted Aladdin maneuvered around the barrier to attack him from the left. Jafar let the barrier down and lifted his staff towards Aladdin. The weapons clashed creating a flashing light. Jafar stood over Aladdin pushing him back. Aladdin gave a smirk, "Made an opening."
Jafar's eyes twitched as he turned to see Sora leap into the air. Sora kicked Jafar's staff knocking it out of his hand. Aladdin took his sword and slashed Jafar's torso. The old man fell to his knees in front of the two heroes. Sora landed on the ground shouting, "Get up I'm not going to beat an old man on the ground."
Jafar turned back into a dark orb and floated away. Sora and Aladdin quickly followed trying to thwart his attempt to reform. But Jafar levitated over the edge of the Palace floor. He quickly reformed back to his human form. "Fire Wall," he sounded raising a wall of fire to halt Sora and Aladdin from advancing. Jafar huffed in desperation staring at his enemies through the flames.
"I should easily overpower them. But together they're too much of a problem. I have to quickly take one out before I finish the other," he thought as the flames flickered between the opponents. The flames quickly subsided only leaving faint burnt marks on the floor. Jafar stared at Aladdin, "Rule of combat always eliminate the weakest target."
Behind them Jasmine still watched them go at it. "They're doing it. They are actually holding their own against him. Please don't faulter," she thought hopefully. She managed to regain some of her strength allowing her to stand up again. But she remained silent still not drawing attention to herself. She clenched her fist as her veins glowed green.
Jafar quickly levitated to the right holding his staff up to his head. Sora and Aladdin remained prepared for another attack. Jafar lowered himself down to the ground thrusting his staff into the floor. The staffs eyes glowed green as noise like a vacuum cleaner began coming from it. Aladdin caught onto Jafar's game. He yelled to Sora, "Get out of the way."
A large and powerful beam launched from Jafar's staff. The two warriors quickly dodged rolled to safety. The magic beam shot out like a rapid train thrusting down a railroad track. Sora fell over on his stomach while Aladdin fell towards the other direction on his back. Both swiftly tried to get up as Jafar took aim at them. He pointed his staff towards Aladdin sounding, "Stop." The cobra staff's eyes turned white when those words slipped passed Jafar's lips.
Aladdin suddenly stopped moving as a white clock appeared in front of his body. Aladdin became confused as he was unable to move anything but his eyeballs. Jafar soon retaliated by charging another green blast directing it towards Aladdin.
Sora quickly analyzed the situation "Time Magic" he realized. He desperately turned to Aladdin who was frozen in place. Jafar's staff glowed prominently before the light shrunk back into the staffs eyes. Sora reached his hand out towards his friend with his mouth wide open. In an instant the Stop spell wore off freeing Aladdin. He still landed on the ground staring straight at the cobra staff's eyes. Jafar shot his magic beam at Aladdin who was helpless on the ground. The laser shot across the platform like a stream of light traveling across the sky. Sora still had his hand reaching to Aladdin gently grazing the magic laser. Jasmine remained stagnant falling back to her hands and knees.
The people of Agrabah watched in horror seeing Aladdin take the full force of the Jafar's might. Even Genie remained speechless unable to think of something to say.
Sora screamed in terror, "Aladdin!"
