The next day, Dawn came to us and said, "You girls were right."
"About Tobey liking you?" I asked.
"Yes," replied Dawn. "He told me he likes me more than a friend."
"Were you able to tell him about Lewis?" asked Kayla.
"Not yet. I told him I'd think about it," said Dawn. "I still want to have a good time here."
"But what if he asks how come you didn't tell him? He'd be hurt," said Kaylee.
"I'll tell him next time I see him," said Dawn. "Oh, one thing: he made me promise not to tell Stacey."
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"I wouldn't have done that," said Kayla.
"I had to get him off my back," said Dawn. "I waited to tell her like I planned."
"Good," said Kaylee.
"And, if he was going to be like that, I wouldn't even go out with him," said Dawn.
"Exactly," said Kayla.
"I wouldn't, either," said Kaylee.
Later, I noticed that Dawn was trying to tell Tobey something, but he wasn't listening. I'd join in to speak up for her, but there's only one problem: I'm too shy. I wish I'm not like that. Luckily, Alex was coming over. Then, I spotted on the beach and said, "Dawn was telling us that our prediction was right."
"We did had a feeling he likes Dawn," said Alex.
"She plans to tell Stacey," I said. "He made her promise not to say anything."
"Watch Tobey flip out on Dawn," said Alex.
"Stacey would blame Tobey, not Dawn," I said.
"I know," said Alex.
"We told Dawn that she should tell him before we leave from here or he would ask her on why she didn't tell him about Lewis," I said. "And, that was what she was trying to do."
"Did he say anything?" asked Alex.
"No, he wasn't listening," I replied.
"That's awful," said Alex.
"I'm trying to find a way on how to help Dawn, but I'm too shy," I said.
"We can figure it out together," said Alex.
"She still plans to tell Stacey anyway," I said.
"Good," said Alex.
"You and I made out fine after I told you about Logan," I said.
"True," said Alex.
Later, we both saw Dawn going to Tobey to try again, but this time- she begged to listen. We were on the porch, but we pretended to act normal by reading our books. We both told her that's what we'll do in case she needs us.
"I just wanted to tell you that I got a boyfriend," said Dawn. "I did try to tell you earlier, but you didn't listen."
Tobey knew what Dawn was saying. "I'm sorry."
"And, I don't hide anything from my friends. If Stacey knew you told me to keep a secret, she'd be furious at you," said Dawn.
"And, I said you can't tell her," said Tobey.
Dawn rolled her eyes and walked away.
"Good. She told him off," said Alex.
That night, I went to Dawn. "I'm glad you were brave enough to tell Tobey. Begging him was firm."
"Yes. He apologized for not listening," said Dawn. "I just texted Stacey about what's going on. She was glad that I did the right thing. She couldn't believe he was making me promise not to tell her."
"I'm glad that you told her," I said.
"Me, too," said Dawn.
The following day, Tobey blasted at Dawn for telling Stacey. But Dawn ignored it.
"That's what you get for making someone promise not to tell a friend. If you were in someone's shoes, would you want to be told and think of it this way, if you didn't know about it, how would you feel?" asked Alex.
Tobey sighed and realized what he did was wrong. He apologized and asked Dawn if she wants to be remain friends.
"Only if you don't make me hide things from my friends," said Dawn.
"Deal," promised Tobey.
