Later, I was on the phone with Dad. He was glad to hear Dawn was firm to Tobey.
"She tried twice. Once he didn't listen to her. Second time was the charm," I said.
"Good," said Dad. "By the way, I have news: I found out that I'll be joining you bachelor girls in Maine."
"Sweet," I said. "Our last day here is Saturday."
"Same with me," said Dad. "I'll be flying there so I can drive to South Carolina with you girls."
"I like that idea," I said.
The other person I would love to see is April. I've known her since fourth grade. She moved there before middle school, but we still keep in touch, which was great. On Saturday, we were allowed to see the guys one last time before leaving tomorrow.
"What time are you leaving for Maine tomorrow?" asked Alex.
"Not sure," I replied.
"It's probably early," said Kayla.
That evening, we were told that we'd be leaving early tomorrow.
"Alex asked, but we weren't sure," said Kaylee.
The following day, we left early. We dropped the key on the way- it wasn't open yet, so we put it through the mail slot.
On Sunday, we were on our way to Portland, Maine.
"I had a fun week in Sea City," I said.
"Me, too," said Kaylee.
"Me, three," said Kayla.
"I was glad I was able to have a fun time," said Dawn.
We were in Maine a few hours later.
In Portland, we rented a beach house that Dad rented. When we drove in the driveway, I noticed the door was open already.
"Dad's here!" I cried out as I got out in a jiffy.
"This is a surprise," said Kayla.
"I know," said Kaylee.
"He must have gotten here before us," said Sharon.
I ran inside and when I noticed him, I ran to hug him.
"Dad!" I exclaimed happily.
"There's my girlfriend," said Dad.
We hugged as he lifted me up while I had my arms around him.
"I missed you so much," I said.
"And, I missed you more," said Dad as we laughed.
Sharon came in and said, "Hi, Richard."
"Hi, Sharon," said Dad as he hugged her, too.
Later, the Willis girls and I decided to hang out while we let Dad settle in. We were on the beach when I noticed April waving to me.
"Mary Anne!" exclaimed April.
"Hi," I said.
"You must be the Willis girls Mary Anne tells me about," said April.
"Yes, I'm Kayla," said Kayla.
"And, I'm Kaylee," said Kaylee.
"Nice to meet you both," said April. "I'm April."
"We've been friends since fourth grade until she moved here before middle school, but we still stay in touch often," I said.
"That's good," said April.
"I met the girls from Stacey while my family were visiting in New York," I said.
"And, we all hit it off," added Kayla.
We had all fun together. And, guess who surprised us a visit: Alex, but he was there on his own.
"Tobey was supposed to come here, too, but he couldn't make it. It's just me and a group of friends," said Alex. "We're only here for three days."
"It's a week for us," I said.
"Bummer," said Alex.
"Don't worry, we still can have fun here," I teased him.
"True," said Alex.
He was finally able to meet Dad afterwards. Alex was able to have fun with us for the next three days before he and his friends went back home the day after. I think Dawn was relieved not to see Tobey because she didn't want to cause any issues again although he promised that it won't, She had fun with us, too.
