Chapter 3: The Run In.

POV: Howard.

As the music began, the reason for why Thomas loved listening to Lady's songs was now all clear to Tanya and I. Her voice was very exceptional and very lovely to hear. And to be fair, I suppose it's also why he has such a crush on her.

Now I know what some of you are going to say: "You know about that?!" And the answer is yes I do, as well as Tanya.

Though Thomas never admitted it, his crush on Lady is actually far greater than the ones he had on previous girls whom he dated and was then dumped by all just to join up with Geoffrey.

It's kind of sad to be frank, the rising young singer whom he usually sees through a screen is the only light besides his parents that he has in his life. I guess it's part of why Tanya and I were so instant on getting those tickets to see her: so he could really have her lighten up his day.

As I then glanced at my wife and son, I decided to make this night even better, by getting them their favorite treats as refreshments for the show.

Tapping my wife's shoulder, I got her attention, so I could speak to her about it.

"Hey." I whispered. "I saw some of yours and Thomas's favorite movie theater snacks at the refreshment counter. Mind if I get some for you both?"

"Oh! Yes please!" Tanya whispered in reply. "And I'm sure Thomas wouldn't turn it down once he sees it."

"Okay." I replied. "Be back in a few."

As I walked out of the seating area, I headed towards the stand where the refreshments were.

I never mentioned it, but on the first time I heard Lady's name, I found her last name, Stone, to be vaguely familiar, but no matter how many times I tried to recalled where I heard it from, I kept on drawing blanks.

The reason I bring this fact up is because it was this little trip for refreshment did I have that encounter that answered it all, and brought forth a reunion of old friends.

"Howard?"

"Burnett..." I said as I saw the man behind me. "What are you doing here?"

"Watching my daughter, preform of course." Burnett said with a smile that clearly stated at how proud he felt. "You?"

"Surprised my son with her live performance." I replied nonchalantly. "He really enjoys listening her songs and watching her previously recorded concerts, and sometimes listens to her interviews, agreeing with a lot of her ideology and answers."

"Really now?" My old friend remarked. "He seems to be quite the fan then."

"Yeah." I chuckled and I found my face beginning to fall. "Sadly, I don't think there really has been any other time that he ever smiled in his life ever since his brother Timothy died. Everyone at his school treats him as if he was a punching game arcade, constantly bruising and breaking his bones."

"Really?!" My friend gasped in shock as I nodded in reply. "Are the staff doing ANYTHING about it?"

"No." I responded sternly. "Those idiotic stinkers played favorites and have that Geoffrey get away with everything. Not to mention those stuck up girls who agree to date my son, but to only dump and humiliate him in the end! With how my son is now, I'm SO planning on suing the school!"

"I can see why you would want too." Burnett replied. "But I'm afraid that it'll probably take more than that to get justice served. For the school could just pay it off and continue on without a care. If you want them to see sense, then ask the police to open an investigation and shut them down if they're found guilty. If you have medical records of Thomas's previous injuries, it's bound to be in your favor."

"I see, thank you, Burnett." I said with a smile.

"Anytime." Burnett replied. "Oh! And um... you mentioned that your son dated before?"

"Yes." I said, a bit taken back. "From what I've seen, he's very polite but can be a tad bit nervous. Regardless, he is a good guy with dates, just haven't found the right girl yet."

"Then let us hope that Lady's the right one then." Burnett said with a smirk. "I've agreed to look for someone who could take her out for one, since she wishes to have a taste of the normal teenage life while we're in Brighton, and Thomas seems to be the type of guy we're looking for. N-not that you have to say yes if you don't want to of course." He then stammered as he saw my shocked look.

"Um... N-no I-it's fine." I replied hastily. "It's just that Thomas also has a major crush on Lady, so I'm unsure on how he would react. Regardless, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to take her out."

"Good to here." My friend remarked. "So, want meet up at our hotel room after the concert."

"Sure." I replied. "And all be sure to bring Thomas and Tanya too while at it. I have no doubt that she'll be happy to see you both again."

"That indeed." Burnett remarked with a smile. "I'll even let Tasha know so we'll be ready for you."

"Right!"

As Burnett then written down and gave me the address and room number of his apartment, I smiled happily for Thomas's day seems to just get better.

I had just got him a date with his celebrity crush, on top of giving him a chance to see her live. What more can you get?
