Chapter 10: Last Day in Brighton.

POV: Thomas.

Ever since I had that date with her, Lady and I had been getting our relationship to a solid point. And I'm pleased to say that she was very true to her word, and stuck by my side, very much unlike the others who dumped me for Geoffrey.

However... Being the boyfriend of a teenage pop star, I decided it best to keep mentions of her name to a minimum for who knew what attention it may grab.

As I then arrived at school, I walked through the halls, proudly wearing my number one necklace, determined to not be pushed down by bullies.

"No more kicks, no more punches, no more broken bones galore. Frick you, Brighton school, cause after today, I'll be living a nice life on sodor!" I quietly sang as I slammed my locker shut.

"Well... Look who's come back to infest the school." Said a certain voice that I cringed at. "You just love to be a great pest, don't you Thomas?"

"Pah!" I scoffed. "At least I'm not one as big as you, Geoffrey!"

Geoffrey scowled at this as he then walked menacingly towards me.

"Think you can speak to me like that?"

"Think you can scare me?" I said in return. "Because I'm not letting you use me as a sandbag today, you piece of crap."

The two girls gasped in shock as Geoffrey then picked me up and pinned me against the locker, glaring.

"You dare insult me?!" He bellowed, while I just smirked.

"Oh... I intend to do more than that you scarlet stinker." I replied as I gave him a kick in the groin, which immediately got him to release me. "Be glad that your weren't in the presence of my new girlfriend, Geoffrey. For if you were and she saw you pinning me against the wall or worse, you WILL be begging for mercy."

"I WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT THOMAS!" Geoffrey shouted as I simply turned heel and walked away to my next class. "MARK MY WORDS! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY!"

"Not without giving another piece of information to be used against your own school." I said to myself as I actually chuckled in amusement. "Idiot."

POV: Lady.

As I saw him through the principal's office, I couldn't help but smile knowing that Thomas had just stood up for himself against Geoffrey.

"I'm so proud of my boyfriend." I thought, as I then let out a sigh.

"Looks like those self-defense sessions paid off." Said Alec or better known as Mr. Conductor, whom of which is one of my bodyguards.

He had been teaching Thomas how to fend for himself ever since he heard that I wanted to take him to Sodor to have a much life for him.

"Ooh ho ho! Thomas got that stinker good." Chortled Mr. Conductor's cousin Junior, who was also a bodyguard of mine. "Such a great move, he did. Oh yes!"

"He still has a lot to learn, Junior." Mr. C sighed. "But, it is a start."

Just then the door to the staff rooms opened and the very principal of this school stepped through it.

"My humblest apologies." He said as he sat before us. "But I had to speak with quite a few people to do this."

"So it's happening then?" Asked Mr. C as the principal nodded.

"Everyone available is preparing the stage in the cafeteria as we speak. It should be ready for that surprise performance in time for the lunch hour."

"Oh! I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you!" I exclaimed as the principal offered me and my bodyguards to wait in the staff rooms.

I actually was glad for the surprise performance to be able to happen, for it meant that I could have Thomas picked up early and in time to reach my ride back home.

Normally a plan wouldn't have to be made to pick someone early. But... since that first date, Thomas told me on how his family tried to pick him up early at one point but was never told or notified until hours later when school was nearly over. Accidental memory loss could be the factor, but if it's with the same person whom fulfilled another family's request to pick up their child around the same time, then it's a game of favorites.

With the fact in mind, I devised a plan that shall allow me to get Thomas out early with no complications from the majority of the staff. Excluding the nurse, the janitor, and the others whom actually called for an ambulance or tended to his wounds. These specific staff members wanted to have Thomas free and out of this horrific school.

"Soon, Thomas. Soon." I said within my thoughts. "Soon, you'll be freed from this heck, and be living a life of far better treatment. This I swear."

POV: Thomas.

As the hours went by, I found my ability to fend for myself to be much more impactful than I first anticipated, as the terrible staff and students around me stayed back and held their tongues. I guess they never saw it ever coming.

As lunch hour hit, I sat alone at my usual spot with everyone staying away from me, for I sent an attacker into the infirmary with a broken nose, much to the nurse's amusement.

As I sat, reveling in the peace I had, I actually felt calm for one and not so much scared as I was usually, but sadly that was to change, as Geoffrey came stomping next to me.

"You're such a nuisance!" He said to me. "Sitting there! Acting it's your throne or Something!"

"No less than you." I remarked in return. "You and your loud mouth to be precise."

Geoffrey really scowled now as he then grabbed me by the shirt and tossed me to a nearby locker that had a normal pad-lock in the unlocked setting. He then grabbed me by the neck, and eyed over to see my necklace, with his face fulling up with more fury and annoyance.

"So you're wearing something expensive now, is that why you're so confident?!"

"No." I grunted in reply. "I'm confident because I have been being taught self-defense maneuvers from an expert and experienced teacher. This new necklace was given to me by my new girlfriend, whom of which got me this person to teach me in the first place."

"Is that so..." Geoffrey then said as an evil grin then came across his face. "Well, then, I suppose I better fix that HERE and NOW!" He then declared as he took the necklace off of me, opened up the locker door and tossed me into it before he locked it, leaving me inside.

POV: Lady.

I let out an exhale of my breath and I stood back stage, preparing myself to sing.

For my audience being all the students who harmed and hurt the boy I loved, I felt kind of hesitant for I didn't want to do something so nice for them.

"It's for Thomas. It's for Thomas." I said quietly to myself as I gave one last exhale, recalled the English lyrics for a song from one of the animes I've watched.

Then with a nod at one of the stage hands, they grasped on to the ropes, and the surprise performance began.

(A/N: The song that Lady is singing is Crossing Fields from Sword Art Online. And there is a English version that LISA sung. But for reasons of personal preference, I decided to use Amalee's version of it. I found the lyrics to it here: . )

I was never right for the hero type of role
I admit it
With my heart shivering in fear
I can see today's reflected in each past tear
Even so
It has been calling the heavens to me
But I cannot hide
All the emptiness inside
My fleeting heart

Once in my dreams
I rose and soared
No matter how I'm knocked around
Or beaten down
I will stand up, restored
All of my love has yet to wake
I know your strength is what I lack
You've got my back and now that I've got yours
I have you to thank for lighting up the dark
Because you're here with me our dreams will soar free
Forever

I wanna always be with you
I give you everything I have

I could never find the light to guide me through the night
And with one touch
I'd recall every memory
All too precious to not hold them all close to me
It's tempting to close your eyes and turn from the world
But it's bittersweet
Like you've somehow missed a beat
With no restart

When every wish has overlapped
You'll realize if you carry on with every dawn
Your hesitation fades
All of your scars will disappear
I will become your sword and shield
This crossing field's the path that we select
The promise we made will last for all our days
If it's our bonds we live by I will put my
Faith in you

I only need one miracle
Can you not hear me call at all?
Until that day I'll keep screaming your name

Once in my dreams
I rose and soared
No matter how I'm knocked around
Or beaten down
I will stand up, restored
All of my love has yet to wake
I know your strength is what I lack
You've got my back and now that I've got yours
I have you to thank for lighting up the dark
Because you're here with me our dreams will soar free
Forever

I wanna always be with you
I wanna hold you tight right now
I swear that I'll be whom you chose
I'll give you everything I have

As my singing came to an end, the entire cafeteria erupted into massive stream of claps, whistles and cheers. But, I didn't come to see them.

Glancing around, I didn't see my dear lover amongst the crowd, but... I did see his necklace... Around Geoffrey's neck!

Knowing the high chance and likelihood he did something to my Thomas, I leapt off the stage, and marched up to him, as calmly as I could. His so-called, 'affectionate smile' (IF you can even call it that.) came across the lips of the stooge in red, making wish I could barf at this moment.

"Come to see me?" He asked with a tone that seemed to be quote on quote flirtatious, which was even more horrid than his grin.

"Yes." I replied. "But not in the way that you dream of, Geoffrey." I went on darkly as I then gestured to my bodyguards to hold him up against the wall, so I could speak my mind with him, face to face. "I'll be taking THIS, thank you!" I said as I took the number one necklace off of his neck and stuck it into my pocket so I could return it to it's proper owner. "You don't own this one of a kind necklace, nor are you worthy of it."

"But I might be worthy for you." He said with that same disgusting grin, which of course earned him a good slap from me.

"With how disgusting you are, I think not." I replied slyly, finding the fact that I slapped such an horrid young man to be amusing. "Your grin, you voice, and your face makes me want to vomit. Even more so knowing how terrible you and your peers are to the owner of the necklace that I just swiped from YOU. And as such, I would love to ruin that face of yours. But if you answer my up coming question, and answer it with what I WANT to hear, I'll reframe from such actions."

I then let out an exhale, trying to keep my cool around this ugly faced idiot, releasing my question.

"Where is Thomas Billinton?"

Geoffrey just gave me that disgusting smile as he sighed nonchalantly.

"Oh why bother about him, when you can have..."

His voice stopped.

His eyes widened.

His mouth dropped.

I had scratched his cheek with my fingernail.

Oh, that face of fear on him was so great to see as I threatened to put another scratch upon him. This is exactly why, my dearest lover warns his attackers before they come face to face with me, for I'm the kind of girl who would make those who harm MY Thomas beg for mercy.

As I continued to eye at Geoffrey, I felt a devilish grin form between my lips, striking him with more fear.

"Allow me to rephrase my question." I said very slyly. "What did you do to my dear sweet Thomas Billinton?"

Geoffrey began to shudder, as he was about ready to panic.

"Okay.. Okay!" He said hysterically. "I-I threw him in the cafeteria's locker! The Principal should have the keys to it! JUST DON'T SCRATCH ME!"

"SLAP!"

"Good." I said as I then gestured my bodyguards to let Geoffrey go. "Now, do yourself a favor, and stay put before I change my mind. You put my boyfriend through a lot of pain, and that scratch plus those two slaps are NOTHING compared to what he faced. If I had the tools, authority, and ability, I WOULD do more than scratch your face, Geoffrey."

As I then turned heel, I saw that practically the whole school were all shivering with fear. Which was probably a good thing in the current situation, for it meant that not a single one of them would attempt to try to attack my boyfriend on our way out.

Glancing at the principle, I glared daggers at him, as he showed eyes of pure fear, just like everyone else.

"Unlock that locker now."

"R-right." He said, scurrying to the same locker that Geoffrey mentioned.

With a fiddle about and then a click, the padlock came off and my lover was freed.

But gosh!...

He was shaking...

As I then brought Thomas between my arms, I rustled his hair affectionately, before glaring at the principal.

"I hear from Thomas that the majority of this school is horrid to him. You included. I don't like to deceive people, but that surprise performance I've requested was meant to be an excuse to let me get close enough to him where I can walk Thomas out of this heck. With what happened today, is now another incident to be used against you in court. You can enjoy Thomas's absence for all you like, but in the end HE'LL get the last laugh. So word of advice, don't try to say otherwise, or lie. Your punishment given by the law might be far more if you do." I then said to him, before helping my lover onto his feet. "Come on Thomas. There's no point in staying here in this horrid place anymore. You got a better place to be."

He just gave a nod as I then preceded to walk him out. Judging by how much he's clinging onto me, I can only guess at how terrible his previous times inside of lockers must have been, as a scratch caused by a sharp edge from within the locker, bled from his cheek.

POV: Thomas.

As Lady walked me out of the cafeteria and towards the limo waiting for us out front, I couldn't help but feel depressed for I was hoping for no grief during school, but to only be thrown in a locker, and to have painful memories of me being stuck inside of other lockers around the school, for hours on end, until Whiff Worsdell, the janitor of the place would let me out, and try to ease me down.

As the limo then began it's journey, Lady opened up a box of medical supplies, and began to tend to my scratch that the locker gave me.

"You must have been thrown in quite a few to be shivering like this." She remarked knowingly and affectionately.

"Yeah." I simply replied. "And for much longer too, I may add."

Lady sighed solemnly, as she then removed the gauze that was stopping my bleeding, before placing a bandage on my cheek to prevent it from getting infected. She then reached into her pocket and pulled out a certain necklace that she no doubt took back from Geoffrey.

"Here." She said as she placed the Number One Necklace around my neck once more. "Now you're whole again."

Caressing my unharmed cheek, Lady then gave me a peck, before bringing me into a loving hug.

I was certainly lucky to have her, as the limo carried on to it's journey to Sodor, where I'll gain a far better life, as well as some really good and true friends.
